Let V be a finite dimensional representation of the connected complex reductive group H. Denote by G the derived subgroup of H and assume that the categorical quotient of V by G is one dimensional. In this situation there exists a homomorphism, denoted by rad, from the algebra A of G-invariant differential operators on V to the first Weyl algebra. We show that the image of rad is isomorphic to the spherical subalgebra of a Cherednik algebra, whose parameters are determined by the b-function of the relative invariant associated to the prehomogeneous vector space (H : V). If (H : V) is furthemore assumed to be multiplicity free we obtain a Howe duality between a set of representations of G and modules over a subalgebra of the associative Lie algebra A. Some applications to holonomic modules and H-equivariant D-modules on V are also given.
In this article we study rational Cherednik algebras at $t = 1$ in positive characteristic. We study a finite dimensional quotient of the rational Cherednik algebra called the restricted rational Cherednik algebra. When the corresponding pseudo-reflection group belongs to the infinite series $G(m,d,n)$, we describe explicitly the block decomposition of the restricted algebra. We also classify all pseudo-reflection groups for which the centre of the corresponding rational Cherednik algebra is regular for generic values of the deformation parameter.
We study those finite dimensional quotients of the rational Cherednik algebra at t=0 that are supported at a point of the centre. It is shown that each such quotient is Morita equivalent to a certain cuspidal quotient of a rational Cherednik algebra associated to a parabolic subgroup of W.
In this paper, we consider the structure of rational orbit of some prehomogeneous vector spaces originally motivated by Wright and Yukie. After we give a refinement of Wright-Yukie's construction, we apply it to the inner forms of the $D_5$ and $E_7$ types. Parameterizations of reducible algebras for the cubic cases are included.
We show that the spherical subalgebra of the rational Cherednik algebra associated to the wreath product of a symmetric group and a cyclic group is isomorphic to a quotient of the ring of invariant differential operators on a space of representations of the cyclic quiver. This confirms a version of a conjecture of Etingof and Ginzburg in the case of cyclic groups. The proof is a straightforward application of work of Oblomkov on the deformed Harish-Chandra homomorphism, and of Crawley-Boevey and of Gan and Ginzburg on preprojective algebras.
In this paper, we give an introduction to the rationality of the equivariant Morse stratification, and state the author's results on zeta functions of prehomogeneous vector spaces.
We study the Dunkl-Opdam subalgebra of the rational Cherednik algebra for wreath products at $t=0$, and use this to describe the block decomposition of restricted rational Cherednik algebras for $G(m,d,n)$.
Ram and Rammage have introduced an automorphism and Clifford theory on affine Hecke algebras. Here we will extend them to cyclotomic Hecke algebras and rational Cherednik algebras.
We study lowest weight representations of the rational Cherednik algebra attached to a complex reflection group W. In particular, we generalize a number of previous results due to Berest, Etingof and Ginzburg.
We show how the existence of a PBW-basis and a large enough central subalgebra can be used to deduce that an algebra is Frobenius. This is done by considering the examples of rational Cherednik algebras, Hecke algebras, quantised universal enveloping algebras, quantum Borels and quantised function algebras. In particular, we give a positive answer to \cite[Problem 6]{Rouquier} stating that the restricted rational Cherednik algebra at the value $t=0$ is symmetric.
We present a computer algebra package based on Magma for performing computations in rational Cherednik algebras at arbitrary parameters and in Verma modules for restricted rational Cherednik algebras. Part of this package is a new general Las Vegas algorithm for computing the head and the constituents of a module with simple head in characteristic zero which we develop here theoretically. This algorithm is very successful when applied to Verma modules for restricted rational Cherednik algebras and it allows us to answer several questions posed by Gordon in some specific cases. We could determi…
We show that the wall crossing bijections between simples of the category O of the rational Cherednik algebras reduce to particular crystal isomorphisms which can be computed by a simple combinatorial procedure on multipartitions of fixed rank.
We study the rational Cherednik algebra attached to the complex reflection group $G(r,1,2)$. Each irreducible representation $S^λ$ of $G(r,1,2)$ corresponds to a standard module $Δ(λ)$ for the rational Cherednik algebra. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of morphism between two of these modules and explicit formulas for them when they exist.
We classify blocks of category $\mathcal{O}$ for rational Cherednik algebras and of cyclotomic Hecke algebras of type G(r,p,n) by using the "residue equivalence" for multi-partitions.
Motivated by the recent developments of the theory of Cherednik algebras in positive characteristic, we study rational Cherednik algebras with divided powers. In our research we have started with the simplest case, the rational Cherednik algebra of type $A_1$. We investigate its maximal divided power extensions over $R[c]$ and $R$ for arbitrary principal ideal domains $R$ of characteristic zero. In these cases, we prove that the maximal divided power extensions are free modules over the base rings, and construct an explicit basis in the case of $R[c]$. In addition, we provide an abstract const…
In this paper, we study representations of the rational Cherednik algebra associated to the complex reflection group $G_4$. In particular, we classify the irreducible finite dimensional representations and compute their characters.
Drinfeld orbifold algebras deform skew group algebras in polynomial degree at most one and hence encompass graded Hecke algebras, and in particular symplectic reflection algebras and rational Cherednik algebras. We introduce parametrized families of Drinfeld orbifold algebras for symmetric groups acting on doubled representations that generalize rational Cherednik algebras by deforming in degree one. We characterize rich families of maps recording commutator relations with their linear parts supported only on and only off the identity when the symmetric group acts on the natural permutation re…
We finish the classification of finite-dimensional irreducible representations of rational Cherednik algebras $H_c(W)$ with equal parameters for exceptional Coxeter groups by resolving the last open case: when $W=E_8$ and the denominator of $c$ is $3$.
Given a complex reflection group W we compute the support of the spherical irreducible module of the rational Cherednik algebra of W in terms of the simultaneous eigenfunction of the Dunkl operators and Schur elements for finite Hecke algebras.
We study rational Cherednik algebras over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic. We first prove several general results about category O, and then focus on rational Cherednik algebras associated to the general and special linear group over a finite field of the same characteristic as the underlying algebraically closed field. For such algebras we calculate the characters of irreducible representations with trivial lowest weight.
A complete classification and character formulas for finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the rational Cherednik algebra of type A is given. Less complete results for other types are obtained. Links to the geometry of affine flag manifolds and Hilbert schemes are discussed.
In this survey article we review Kac-Moody and Heisenberg algebra actions on the categories $\mathcal{O}$ of the rational Cherednik algebras associated to groups $G(\ell,1,n)$. Using these actions we solve basic representation theoretic problems for these categories such as the classification of finite dimensional irreducible representations and computation of characters of the irreducibles.
Let (G,V) be an irreducible prehomogeneous vector space defined over a number field k, P in k[V] a relative invariant polynomial, and X a rational character of G such that P(gx)=X(g)P(x). Let V_k^{ss}={x \in V_k such that P(x) is not equal to 0}. For x in V_k^{ss}, let G_x be the stabilizer of x, and G_x^0 the connected component of 1 of G_x. We define L_0 to be the set of x in V_k^{ss} such that G_x^0 does not have a non-trivial rational character. We study the zeta function for (G,V).
In this paper we describe the characters of irreducible objects in category O for the rational Cherednik algebra associated to GL_2(F_p) over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic p, for any value of the parameter t and generic value of the parameter c.
Let H_c be the rational Cherednik algebra of type A_{n-1} with spherical subalgebra U_c = eH_ce. Then U_c is filtered by order of differential operators, with associated graded ring gr U_c = C[h+h*]^W, where W is the n-th symmetric group. We construct a filtered Z-algebra B such that, under mild conditions on c: (1) The category B-qgr of graded noetherian B-modules modulo torsion is equivalent to U_c-mod; (2) The associated graded Z-algebra gr(B) has gr(B)-qgr equivalent to Coh Hilb(n), the category of coherent sheaves on the Hilbert scheme of points in the plane. This can be regarded as sayin…
We introduce parabolic degenerations of rational Cherednik algebras of complex reflection groups, and use them to give necessary conditions for finite-dimensionality of an irreducible lowest weight module for the rational Cherednik algebra of a complex reflection group, and for the existence of a non-zero map between two standard modules. The latter condition reproduces and enhances, in the case of the symmetric group, the combinatorics of cores and dominance order, and in general shows that the c-ordering on category O may be replaced by a much coarser ordering. The former gives a new proof o…
We define Lie algebra cohomology associated with the half-Dirac operators for representations of rational Cherednik algebras and show that it has property described in the Casselman-Osborne Theorem by establishing a version of the Vogan's conjecture for the half-Dirac operators. Moreover, we study the relationship between Lie algebra cohomology and Dirac cohomology in analogy of the representations for semisimple Lie algebras.
We study the endomorphism algebra of Verma modules for rational Cherednik algebras at t=0. It is shown that, in many cases, these endomorphism algebras are quotients of the centre of the rational Cherednik algebra. Geometrically, they define Lagrangian subvariaties of the generalized Calogero-Moser space. In the introduction, we motivate our results by describing them in the context of derived intersections of Lagrangians.
The representation theory of rational Cherednik algebras of type A at t=0 gives rise, by considering supports, to a natural family of smooth Lagrangian subvarieties of the Calogero-Moser space. The goal of this article is to make precise the relationship between these Lagrangians and Schubert cells in the adelic Grassmannian. In order to do this we show that the isomorphism, as constructed by Etingof and Ginzburg, from the spectrum of the centre of the rational Cherednik algebra to the Calogero-Moser space is compatible with the factorization property of both of these spaces. As a consequence,…
We give an overview of the representation theory of restricted rational Cherednik algebras. These are certain finite-dimensional quotients of rational Cherednik algebras at t=0. Their representation theory is connected to the geometry of the Calogero-Moser space, and there is a lot of evidence that they contain certain information about Hecke algebras even though the precise connection is so far unclear. We outline the basic theory along with some open problems and conjectures, and give explicit results in the cyclic and dihedral cases.
In this paper, we classify the irreducible representations of the rational Cherednik algebras of rank 1 in characteristic p > 0. There are two cases. One is the "quantum" case, where "Planck's constant" is nonzero and generic irreducible representations have dimension pr, where r is the order of the cyclic group contained in the algebra. The other is the "classical" case, where "Planck's constant" is zero and generic irreducible representations have dimension r.
In this paper, we describe the irreducible representations in category O of the rational Cherednik algebra H_c(G_12,h) associated to the complex reflection group G_12 with reflection representation h for an arbitary complex parameter c. In particular, we determine the irreducible finite dimensional representations and compute their characters.
Ginzburg, Guay, Opdam and Rouquier established an equivalence of categories between a quotient category of the category $\mathcal{O}$ for the rational Cherednik algebra and the category of finite dimension modules of the Hecke algebra of a complex reflection group $W$. We establish two generalizations of this result. On the one hand to the extension of the Hecke algebra associated to the normaliser of a reflection subgroup and on the other hand to the extension of the Hecke algebra by a lattice.
In this article, we describe all two sided ideals of a cyclotomic rational Cherednik algebra $H_\mathbf{c}$ and its spherical subalgebra $eH_\mathbf{c} e$ with a Weil generic aspherical parameter $\mathbf{c}$, and further describe the simple modules in the category $\mathcal{O}^{sph}_\mathbf{c}$ . The main tools we use are categorical Kac-Moody actions on catogories $\mathcal{O}_\mathbf{c}$ and restriction functors for Harish-Chandra bimodules.
In this paper we describe the Jordan-Holder series of the standard modules over the rational Cherednik algebras associated with the dihedral group. In particular, we compute the characters of the irreducible representations from the category O and classify the finite dimensional representations.
We prove a number of results on the structure and representation theory of the rational Cherednik algebra of the imprimitive reflection group $G(\ell,p,n)$. In particular, we: (1) show a relationship to the Coulomb branch construction of Braverman, Finkelberg and Nakajima, and 3-dimensional quantum field theory; (2) show that the spherical Cherednik algebra carries the structure of a principal Galois order; (3) construct a graded lift of category $\mathcal{O}$ and the larger category of Dunkl-Opdam modules, whose simple modules have the properties of a dual canonical basis and (4) give the fir…
We compare crystal combinatorics of the level $2$ Fock space with the classification of unitary representations of type $B$ rational Cherednik algebras to show that any finite-dimensional unitary irreducible representation of such an algebra is labeled by a bipartition consisting of a rectangular partition in one component and the empty partition in the other component. This is a new proof of a result that can be deduced from theorems of Montarani and Etingof-Stoica.
We classify the simple modules for the rational Cherednik algebra that are irreducible when restricted to W, in the case when W is a finite Weyl group. The classification turns out to be closely related to the cuspidal two-sided cells in the sense of Lusztig. We compute the Dirac cohomology of these modules and use the tools of Dirac theory to find nontrivial relations between the cuspidal Calogero-Moser cells and the cuspidal two-sided cells.
This paper surveys the representation theory of rational Cherednik algebras. We also discuss the representations of the spherical subalgebras. We describe in particular the results on category O. For type A, we explain relations with the Hilbert scheme of points on C^2. We insist on the analogy with the representation theory of complex semi-simple Lie algebras.
We construct a quotient ring of the ring of diagonal coinvariants of the complex reflection group $W=G(m,p,n)$ and determine its graded character. This generalises a result of Gordon for Coxeter groups. The proof uses a study of category $\cO$ for the rational Cherednik algebra of $W$.
This paper and its sequel describe the irreducible representations of the rational Cherednik algebra $H_c(W)$ for a finite Coxeter group $W$ of type $H_4$, $F_4$ with equal parameters, $E_6$, $E_7$, and $E_8$, when $c$ is not a half-integer. Herein appear the decomposition matrices of Category $\mathcal{O}_c(W)$ for $W=H_4$, $E_6$, and $E_7$, as well as a classification of finite-dimensional representations of $H_c(W)$ for these groups and for $H_c(F_4)$ with equal parameters.
Symplectic reflection algebras arise in many different mathematical disciplines: integrable systems, Lie theory, representation theory, differential operators, symplectic geometry. In this paper, we introduce baby Verma modules for symplectic reflection algebras of complex reflection groups at parameter t=0 (the so--called rational Cherednik algebras at parameter t=0) and present their most basic properties. By analogy with the representation theory of reductive Lie algebras in positive characteristic, we believe these modules are fundamental to the understanding of the representation theory a…
We first consider the rational Cherednik algebra corresponding to the action of a finite group on a complex variety, as defined by Etingof. We define a category of representations of this algebra which is analogous to "category O" for the rational Cherednik algebra of a vector space. We generalise to this setting Bezrukavnikov and Etingof's results about the possible support sets of such representations. Then we focus on the case of $S_n$ acting on $\C^n$, determining which irreducible modules in this category have which support sets. We also show that the category of representations with a gi…
Based on the methods developed in [Kashiwara-Rouquier], we consider microlocalization of the rational Cherednik algebra of type $\Z/l\Z$. Our goal is to construct the irreducible modules and standard modules of the rational Cherednik algebra by using the microlocalization. As a consequence, we obtain the sheaves of microlocal system corresponding to holonomic systems with regular singularities.
We provide geometric constructions of modules over the graded Cherednik algebra $\mathfrak{H}^{gr}_ν$ and the rational Cherednik algebra $\mathfrak{H}^{rat}_ν$ attached to a simple algebraic group $\mathbb{G}$ together with a pinned automorphism $θ$. These modules are realized on the cohomology of affine Springer fibers (of finite type) that admit $\mathbb{C}^*$-actions. In the rational Cherednik algebra case, the standard grading on these modules is derived from the perverse filtration on the cohomology of affine Springer fibers coming from its global analog: Hitchin fibers. When $θ$ is trivi…
In this paper, we shall establish the Mackey formulas in the following two set ups: (i) on the tensor induction and restriction functors on the modules over cyclotomic Hecke algebras (Ariki-Koike algebras) and their standard subalgebras of parabolic subgroups. (ii) on the Bezrukavnikov-Etingof induction and restriction functors among categories O of rational Cherednik algebras for the complex reflection group of type G(r, 1, n) and their parabolic subgroups.
We introduce parabolic induction and restriction functors for rational Cherednik algebras, and study their basic properties. Then we discuss applications of these functors to representation theory of rational Cherednik algebras. In particular, we prove the Gordon-Stafford theorem about Morita equivalence of the rational Cherednik algebra for type A and its spherical subalgebra, without the assumption that c is not a half-integer, which was required up to now. Also, we classify representations from category O over the rational Cherednik algebras of type A which do not contain an S_n-invariant v…
In the case of rational Cherednik algebras associated with cyclic groups, we give an alternative proof that the projective object $P_{\text{KZ}}$ representing the KZ-functor is isomorphic to the $Δ$-module associated with the coinvariant algebra for a subset of parameter values from which all parameter values can be obtained by integral translations. We also specify the exact parameter values for which this isomorphism occurs. Furthermore, we determine the action of the cyclotomic Hecke algebra on $P_{\text{KZ}}$ for these parameter values, thereby giving a complete algebraic description of th…
We apply the Dunkl-Opdam operators and generalized Jack polynomials to study category O for the rational Cherednik algebra of type G(r,1,n). We determine the set of aspherical values, and answer a question of Iain Gordon on the ordering of category O.
We obtain several results about representations of rational Cherednik algebras, and discuss their applications. Our first result is the Cohen-Macaulayness property (as modules over the polynomial ring) of Cherednik algebra modules with minimal support. Our second result is an explicit formula for the character of an irreducible minimal support module in type A_{n-1} for c=m/n, and an expression of its quasispherical part (i.e., the isotypic part of "hooks") in terms of the HOMFLY polynomial of a torus knot colored by a Young diagram. We use this formula and the work of Calaque, Enriquez and Et…
We relate the representations of the rational Cherednik algebras associated with the complex reflection group G(m,1,n) to sheaves on Nakajima quiver varieties associated with extended Dynkin gaphs via a Z-algebra construction. As the parameters defining the Cherednik algebra vary, the stability conditions defining the quiver variety change. We interpret the ordering on category O geometrically using this relationship; we also relate the geometry to the a-function for Hecke algebras with unequal parameters.
We determine the structure of category $\cO$ for the rational Cherednik algebra of $G(m,1,n)$ in the case where the $\KZ$ functor satisfies a condition called \emph{separating simples}. As a consequence, we show that the property of having exactly $N-1$ simple modules, where $N$ is the number of simple modules of $G(m,1,n)$, determines the Ariki-Koike algebra up to isomorphism.
We study equivalences for category O_p of the rational Cherednik algebras H_p of type G_l(n) = μ_l^n\rtimes S_n: a highest weight equivalence between O_p and O_{σ(p)} for σ\in S_l and an action of S_l on a non-empty Zariski open set of parameters p; a derived equivalence between O_p and O_{p'} whenever p and p' have integral difference; a highest weight equivalence between O_p and a parabolic category O for the general linear group, under a non-rationality assumption on the parameter p. As a consequence, we confirm special cases of conjectures of Etingof and of Rouquier.
Following the work of Kashiwara-Rouquier and Gan-Ginzburg, we define a family of exact functors from category $\mathcal O$ for the rational Cherednik algebra in type $A$ to representations of certain "coloured braid groups" and calculate the dimensions of the representations thus obtained from standard modules. To show that our constructions also make sense in a more general context, we also briefly study the case of the rational Cherednik algebra corresponding to complex reflection group $\mathbb Z/l\mathbb Z$.
We conjecture that the "nilpotent points" of Calogero-Moser space for reflection groups are parametrised naturally by the two-sided cells of the group with unequal parameters. The nilpotent points correspond to blocks of restricted Cherednik algebras and we describe these blocks in the case G(m,1,n) and show that in type B our description produces an existing conjectural description of two-sided cells.
