We construct a quotient ring of the ring of diagonal coinvariants of the complex reflection group $W=G(m,p,n)$ and determine its graded character. This generalises a result of Gordon for Coxeter groups. The proof uses a study of category $\cO$ for the rational Cherednik algebra of $W$.
We study the coinvariant ring of the complex reflection group $G(r,p,n)$ as a module for the corresponding rational Cherednik algebra $\HH$ and its generalized graded affine Hecke subalgebra $\mathcal{H}$. We construct a basis consisting of non-symmetric Jack polynomials, and using this basis decompose the coinvariant ring into irreducible modules for $\mathcal{H}$. The basis consists of certain non-symmetric Jack polynomials, whose leading terms are the ``descent monomials'' for $G(r,p,n)$ recently studied by Adin, Brenti, and Roichman and Bagno and Biagoli. The irreducible $\mathcal{H}$-subm…
We describe a general conjecture on how one may derive from the generic bosonic case all structural properties of multivariate diagonal coinvariant modules in $k$ sets of $n$ commuting variables (bosons), and $j$ sets of $n$ anticommuting variables (fermions).
We explain how to use representation theory to give a lower bound on the dimension of the quotient ring by type $B_n$ diagonal invariants that improves upon the current known lower bound $(2n+1)^n$ by a quadratic polynomial in $n$.
The purpose of this paper is to give an explicit description of the irreducible decomposition of the multigraded S_n-module of coinvariants of S_n x S_n. Many of the results presented can be extended to analogous questions for other finite reflection group.
For finite complex reflexion groups, we consider the graded $W$-modules of diagonally harmonic polynomials in $r$ sets of variables, and show that associated Hilbert series may be described in a global manner, independent of the value of $r$.
Let $Θ_n = (θ_1, \dots, θ_n)$ and $Ξ_n = (ξ_1, \dots, ξ_n)$ be two lists of $n$ variables and consider the diagonal action of $\mathfrak{S}_n$ on the exterior algebra $\wedge \{ Θ_n, Ξ_n \}$ generated by these variables. Jongwon Kim and Rhoades defined and studied the fermionic diagonal coinvariant ring $FDR_n$ obtained from $\wedge \{ Θ_n, Ξ_n \}$ by modding out by the $\mathfrak{S}_n$-invariants with vanishing constant term. In joint work with Rhoades we gave a basis for the maximal degree components of this ring where the action of $\mathfrak{S}_n$ could be interpreted combinatorially via n…
In the case of rational Cherednik algebras associated with cyclic groups, we give an alternative proof that the projective object $P_{\text{KZ}}$ representing the KZ-functor is isomorphic to the $Δ$-module associated with the coinvariant algebra for a subset of parameter values from which all parameter values can be obtained by integral translations. We also specify the exact parameter values for which this isomorphism occurs. Furthermore, we determine the action of the cyclotomic Hecke algebra on $P_{\text{KZ}}$ for these parameter values, thereby giving a complete algebraic description of th…
We study a class of representations called ``calibrated representations'' of the degenerate double affine Hecke algebra and those of the rational Cherednik algebra of type ${\mathrm{GL}}_n$. We give a realization of calibrated irreducible modules as spaces of coinvariants constructed from integrable modules over the affine Lie algebra $\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_m$. Moreover, we give a character formula of these irreducible modules in terms of a level-restricted Kostka polynomials. These results were conjectured by Arakawa, Suzuki and Tsuchiya based on the conformal field theory. The proofs using rec…
Let $W$ be an irreducible complex reflection group acting on its reflection representation $V$. We consider the doubly graded action of $W$ on the exterior algebra $\wedge (V \oplus V^*)$ as well as its quotient $DR_W := \wedge (V \oplus V^*)/ \langle \wedge (V \oplus V^*)^{W}_+ \rangle$ by the ideal generated by its homogeneous $W$-invariants with vanishing constant term. We describe the bigraded isomorphism type of $DR_W$; when $W = \mathfrak{S}_n$ is the symmetric group, the answer is a difference of Kronecker products of hook-shaped $\mathfrak{S}_n$-modules. We relate the Hilbert series of…
We establish a q-generalization of Gordon's theorem that the space of diagonal coinvariants has a quotient identified with a perfect representation of the rational double affine Hecke algebra. It leads to a simple proof of his theorem and relates it to the Weyl algebras at roots of unity. The universal double affine Hecke algebra and the corresponding universal double Dunkl operators acting in noncommutative polynomials in terms of two sets of variables are introduced.
Motivated by a recent conjecture of Zabrocki, Wallach described the alternants in the super-coinvariant algebra of the symmetric group in one set of commuting and one set of anti-commuting variables under the diagonal action. We give a type-independent generalization of Wallach's result to all real reflection groups $G$. As an intermediate step, we explicitly describe the alternating super-polynomials in $k[V] \otimes Λ(V)$ for all complex reflection groups, providing an analogue of a classic result of Solomon which describes the invariant super-polynomials in $k[V] \otimes Λ(V^*)$. Using our …
The goal of this paper is to lay the foundations for a combinatorial study, via orthogonal functions and intertwining operators, of category O for the rational Cherednik algebra of type G(r,p,n). As a first application, we give a self-contained and elementary proof of the analog for the groups G(r,p,n), with r>1, of Gordon's theorem (previously Haiman's conjecture) on the diagonal coinvariant ring. We impose no restriction on p; the result for p<r has been proved by Vale using a technique analogous to Gordon's. Because of the combinatorial application to Haiman's conjecture, the paper is logic…
For a Weyl group W and its reflection representation mathfrak{h}, we find the character and Hilbert series for a quotient ring of C[mathfrak{h} oplus mathfrak{h}^*] by an ideal containing the W--invariant polynomials without constant term. This confirms conjectures of Haiman. The proof makes use of rational Cherednik algebras, as studied by Etingof and Ginzburg, and others.
The cluster complex on one hand, parking functions on the other hand, are two combinatorial (po)sets that can be associated to a finite real reflection group. Cluster parking functions are obtained by taking an appropriate fiber product (over noncrossing partitions). There is a natural structure of simplicial complex on these objects, and our main goal is to show that it has the homotopy type of a (pure) wedge of spheres. The unique nonzero homology group (as a representation of the underlying reflection group) is a sign-twisted parking representation, which is the same as Gordon's quotient of…
We develop an elementary algebraic method to compute the center of the principal block of a small quantum group associated with a complex semisimple Lie algebra at a root of unity. The exemplary case of $\mathfrak{sl}_3$ is computed explicitly, and further evidence of $\mathfrak{sl}_4$ is sketched. This allows us to formulate the conjecture that, as a bigraded vector space, the center of a regular block of the small quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_m$ at a root of unity is isomorphic to Haiman's diagonal coinvariant algebra for the symmetric group $S_{m}$.
This paper is based on the introduction to the monograph ``Double affine Hecke algebras'' to be published by Cambridge University Press. The connections with Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations, Kac-Moody algebras, tau-function, harmonic analysis on symmetric spaces, and special functions are discussed. The rank one case is considered in detail including the classification of Verlinde algebras and their deformations, Gauss-Selberg integrals and Gaussian sums, a topological interpretation of DAHA, a relation of the rational DAHA to sl(2), and applications to the diagonal coinvariants. The last thr…
The category $\mathrm{FI}_G$ was first defined and explored by Sam-Snowden. Here, we develop more of the machinery of $\mathrm{FI}_G$-modules and find numerous examples to apply it to, extending the work of Church-Ellenberg-Farb and Wilson. In particular we develop a notion of character polynomials for $\mathrm{FI}_G$-modules with $G$ finite, a notion of representation stability which we call $K_0$-stability even when $G$ is infinite virtually polycyclic, and apply the notion of finite presentation degree when $G$ is a general infinite group. We use this to analyze numerous families of $(G^n \…
