We present the studies of the decays $B\to a_1(1260) π$ and $a_1(1260) K$ within the framework of QCD factorization. Due to the G-parity, unlike the vector meson, the chiral-odd two-parton light-cone distribution amplitudes of the $a_1$ are antisymmetric under the exchange of quark and anti-quark momentum fractions in the SU(2) limit. The branching ratios for $a_1 π$ modes are sensitive to tree--penguin interference. The resultant ${\cal B}(B^0 \to a_1^\pm π^\mp)$ are in good agreement with the data. However, using the current Cabibbo--Kobayashi--Maskawa angles, $β=22.0^\circ$ and $γ=59.0^\circ$, our results for the mixing-induced parameter $S$ and $α_{\rm eff}$ differ from the measurements of the time-dependent CP asymmetries in the decay $B^0\to a_1^\pm π^\mp$ at about the $3.7σ$ level. This puzzle may be resolved by using a larger $γ\gtrsim 80^\circ$. For $a_1 K$ modes, the annihilation topologies give sizable contributions and are sensitive to the first Gegenbauer moment of the leading-twist tensor (chiral-odd) distribution amplitude of the $a_1$ meson. The $B\to a_1 K$ amplitudes resemble the corresponding $B\to πK$ ones very much. Taking the ratios of corresponding CP-averaged $a_1 K$ and $πK$ branching ratios, we can extract information relevant to the electroweak penguins and annihilations. The existence of new-physics in the electroweak penguin sector and final state interactions during decays can thus be explored.
Nonleptonic two body B decays including radially excited $π(1300)$ or $ρ(1450)$ mesons in the final state are studied using the framework of generalized naive factorization approach. Branching ratios and CP asymmetries of $B\to Pπ(1300)$, $B\to Vπ(1300)$, $B\to Pρ(1450)$ and $B\to Vρ(1450)$ decays are calculated, where P and V stand for pseudoscalar and vector charmless mesons. Form factors for $B\to π(1300)$ and $B\to ρ(1450)$ transitions are estimated in the improved version of the Isgur-Scora-Grinstein-Wise quark model. In some processes, CP asymmetries of more than 10% and branching ratios…
Motivated by the first untagged decay-time-integrated amplitude analysis of $B_s \to K_SK^{\mp}π^{\pm}$ decays performed by LHCb collaboration, where the decay amplitudes are modeled to contain the resonant contributions from intermediate resonances $K^*(892)$, $K_0^*(1430)$ and $K_2^*(1430)$, we comprehensively investigate the quasi-two-body $B_{s} \to K^0/\overline{\kern -0.2em K}^0 K^{\pm}π^{\mp}$ decays, and calculate the branching fractions and the time-dependent $CP$ asymmetries within the perturbative QCD approach based on the $k_T$ factorization. In the quasi-two-body space region the …
We propose a theoretical framework for analyzing two-body nonleptonic $D$ meson decays, based on the factorization of short-distance (long-distance) dynamics into Wilson coefficients (hadronic matrix elements of four-fermion operators). The parametrization of hadronic matrix elements in terms of several nonperturbative quantities is demonstrated for the $D\to PP$ decays, $P$ denoting a pseudoscalar meson. We consider the evolution of Wilson coefficients with energy release in individual decay modes, and the Glauber strong phase associated with the pion in nonfactorizable annihilation amplitude…
We discuss an improved theoretical description of the semi-inclusive B meson decays $B\to K(K^*)X$. The decay distributions are calculated. Their branching ratios are found to be appreciable. The CP asymmetries in the neutral B modes $\bar{B^0}\to K^-(K^{*-})X$ are sizable. An observation of direct CP violation and a measurement of $γ$ may come from these neutral B modes.
We calculate the hard-scattering kernels relevant to the negative-helicity decay amplitude in B decays to two vector mesons in the framework of QCD factorisation. We then perform a comprehensive analysis of the 34 B->VV decays, including B_s decays and the complete set of polarisation observables. We find considerable uncertainties from weak annihilation and the non-factorisation of spectator-scattering. Large longitudinal polarisation is expected with certainty only for a few tree-dominated colour-allowed modes, which receive small penguin and spectator-scattering contributions. This allows f…
We study the radiative dileptonic $B \rar γl^+ l^- $ transition in the presence of a universal extra dimension in the Applequist-Cheng-Dobrescu model. In particular, using the corresponding form factors calculated via light cone QCD sum rules, we analyze the branching ratio and double lepton polarization asymmetries related to this channel and compare the results with the predictions of the standard model. We show how the results deviate from predictions of the standard model at lower values of the compactification factor ($1/R $) of extra dimension.
We analyze the supersymmetric contributions to the direct and mixing CP asymmetries and also to the branching ratios of the B --> K πdecays in a model independent way. We consider both gluino and chargino exchanges and emphasize that a large gluino contribution is essential for saturating the direct and mixing CP asymmetries. We also find that combined contributions from the penguin diagrams with chargino and gluino in the loop could lead to a possible solution for the branching ratios puzzle and account for the results of R_c and R_n within b --> s γconstraints. When all relevant constraints …
Theoretically motivated smallness of the penguin amplitude in $B \to ππ$ decays allowes to calculate the value of the unitarity triangle angle $α(ϕ_2)$ with good accuracy. The relatively large branching ratio of the decay into $π^0 π^0$ is explained by the large value of FSI phase difference between $ΔI = 1/2$ and $ΔI = 3/2$ tree amplitudes.
We investigate the $B \rar K_{0}^{*}(1430) l^+ l^- $ transition in the Applequist-Cheng-Dobrescu model in the presence of a universal extra dimension. In particular, we calculate double lepton polarization asymmetries and branching ratio related to this channel and compare the obtained results with the predictions of the standard model. Our analysis of the considered observables in terms of radius $R$ of the compactified extra-dimension as the new parameter of the model show a considerable discrepancy between the predictions of two models in low $\frac{1}{R}$ values.
In this paper, we draw constraints on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) angle $α$ and the strong phase $δ$ from the experimental measurements of $\ssb$, the CP-violating asymmetries and branching ratios of $B \to π^+ π^-, π^+ π^0$ and $K^0 π^+$ decays. In the SM, the measured $\ssb$ leads to an upper limit on $α$: $α\leq 180^\circ-β$. Taking the weighted-average of the newest BaBar and Belle measurements of $\spp$ and $\app$ in $B^0 \to π^+π^-$ decay as the experimental input, we find the allowed range of angle $α$, $76^\circ \leq α\leq 135^\circ$ for $r=|P/T| =0.3 \pm 0.1 $. From the measur…
We investigate the exclusive nonleptonic decays $B\rightarrow χ_{c1}K(π)$ in the conventional perturbative QCD (PQCD) formalism. The predictions of branching ratios and $CP$ asymmetries are given in detail. We compare our results with available experimental data as well as predictions of other theoretical studies existing in the literature. It seems that the branching ratios of $B\rightarrow χ_{c1} K$ are more consistent with data than the earlier analyses. For the Cabibbo-suppressed $B_s$ decay, the branching ratio can reach the order of $10^{-5}$, which would be straight forward for experime…
In this work, within the QCD factorization approach, we investigate the branching fractions and CP asymmetries of decays $B \to K_0^*(1430)ρ$ and $B \to K_0^*(1430)ϕ$ under two different scenarios both in the standard model and the family nonuniversal $Z^\prime$ model. We find that the annihilation terms play crucial roles in these decays and lead to the main uncertainties. For decays $B^- \to \bar K_0^{*-} (1430)ρ^0 (ω)$, the new $Z^\prime$ boson could change branching fractions remarkably. However, for other decays, its contribution might be clouded by large uncertainties from annihilations.…
We consider two body decays of B meson into a light vector (V) and a pseudoscalar (P) meson. The constraint obtained from the $B\to P P$ modes on the parameter space of the input parameters is imposed also on $B\to V P$ modes. In particular we constrain $ξ\equiv (1/N_c)$ for those modes from recently measured $B\to ωK, ϕK$ and are able to get a satisfactory pictures for all modes where data exists. Modes that should be seen shortly and those with possibly large CP asymmetries are identified.
We analyse $D$ decays to two pseudoscalars $(π,K)$ assuming the dominant source of $\mathrm{SU}(3)_F$ breaking lies in final state interactions. We obtain an excellent agreement with experimental data and are able to predict CP violation in several channels based on current data on branching ratios and $Δ\mathrm{A_{CP}}$. We also make predictions for $δ_{Kπ}$ and the branching fraction for the decay $D_s^+\to K^+K_L$.
In this work we calculate the branching ratios of semi-leptonic and non-leptonic decays of $Λ_b$ into light baryons ($p$ and $Λ$), as well as the measurable asymmetries which appear in the processes, in the light front quark model (LFQM). In the calculation, we adopt the diquark picture and discuss the justifiability of applying the picture in our case. Our result on the branching ratio of $Λ_b\toΛ+J/ψ$ is in good agreement with data. More predictions are made in the same model and the results will be tested in the future experiments which will be conducted at LHCb and even ILC.
We study the two-body hadronic $D\to PV$ decays, where $P$ ($V$) denotes a pseudoscalar (vector) meson, in the factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach proposed in our previous work. This approach is based on the factorization of short-distance and long-distance dynamics into Wilson coefficients and hadronic matrix elements of four-fermion operators, respectively, with the latter being parametrized in terms of several nonperturbative quantities. We further take into account the $ρ$-$ω$ mixing effect, which improves the global fit to the branching ratios involving the $ρ^0$ and $ω$…
We calculate the branching ratios and CP violating asymmetries of the four $B \to K \etap$ decays in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. Besides the full leading order contributions, the partial next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions from the QCD vertex corrections, the quark loops, and the chromo-magnetic penguins are also taken into account. The NLO pQCD predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios are $Br(B^+ \to K^+ η) \approx 3.2 \times 10^{-6}$, $Br(B^\pm \to K^\pm \etar) \approx 51.0 \times 10^{-6}$, $Br(B^0 \to K^0 η) \approx 2.1 \times 10^{-6}$, and $Br(B^0 \to …
We calculate the CP averaged branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries for $B^0 \to ηη, ηη^\prime$ and $η^\prime η^\prime$ decays by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. The pQCD predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios are $Br(B^0 \to ηη) \approx 0.67 \times 10^{-7}$, $Br(B^0 \to ηη^\prime) \approx 0.18 \times 10^{-7}$, and $Br(B^0 \to η^{\prime} η^{\prime}) \approx 0.11 \times 10^{-7}$, which are consistent with currently available experimental upper limits. We also predict large CP-violating asymmetries for the considered three decay modes, which can be …
The $K_{S}^{0}-K_{L}^{0}$ asymmetries in the $D$ meson decays, induced by the interference between the Cabibbo-favored and the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed amplitudes, can help to understand the dynamics of charm decays. All possible processes of two-body non-leptonic $D$ decays into one neutral kaon and another pseudoscalar or vector meson are considered. We study the $K_{S}^{0}-K_{L}^{0}$ asymmetries and the branching fractions of corresponding processes in the factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach in which significant flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry breaking effects are included. The b…
We have examined the decay $K^0_L \to π^0 μ^+ μ^-$ in which the branching ratio, the muon energy asymmetry and the muon decay asymmetry could be measured. In particular, we find that within the Standard Model the longitudinal polarization ($P_L$) of the muon is proportional to the direct CP violating amplitude. On the other hand the energy asymmetry and the out-of-plane polarization ($P_N$) depend on both indirect and direct CP violating amplitudes. Although the branching ratio is small and difficult to measure because of background, the asymmetries could be large $\cal{O}$(1) in the Standard …
We introduce a set of observables representing angular distribution asymmetries, which can be viewed as a generalization of the forward-backward asymmetry of angular distributions, and can be used as an effective tool to search for $C\!P$ violation in three-body decays of bottom and charmed baryons. We propose to search for such $C\!P$ asymmetries (1) in decays with $Λ^0$, $Σ^\pm$, or $Λ_c^+$ involved, such as $Λ_b\to Λ^0 D$ and $Λ_b\toΛ^0ρ(770)^0$; and (2) in three-body decays of bottom baryons with opposite parity intermediate resonances involved. Typical examples include $Ξ_b^-\to p K^- K^-…
Triple product asymmetries have been used to probe CP violation in $K$, $D$, and B decays. Here we review the interpretation of those asymmetries, and note that it is possible to construct twelve measurable triple product asymmetries for the decay of a particle into a four body final state. Eight of these asymmetries are introduced here and nine have never been measured before. These can be used to systematically test C, P, and CP symmetries in decays to four body final states. In particular we note that these asymmetries can be used to study symmetry invariance in Higgs, $Z^0$, top-quark, and…
U-spin symmetry predicts equal CP rate asymmetries with opposite signs in pairs of $ΔS=0$ and $ΔS=1$ $B$ meson decays in which initial and final states are related by U-spin reflection. Of particular interest are six decay modes to final states with pairs of charged pions or kaons, including $B_s \to π^+K^-$ and $B_s\to K^+K^-$ for which asymmetries have been reported recently by the LHCb collaboration. After reviewing the current status of these predictions, highlighted by the precision of a relation between asymmetries in $B_s \to π^+K^-$ and $B^0\to K^+π^-$, we perform a perturbative study …
Branching ratios, lepton forward-backward asymmetries, and lepton polarization asymmetries for the flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) dileptonic decays of the $Λ_b$ baryon to the ground state and a number of excited state $Λ$ baryons are calculated using form factors extracted using wave functions from a constituent quark model. The SM branching ratios for the transition to the ground state calculated using these quark model form factors are consistent with the recent measurement reported by the LHCb collaboration. It is shown that the lepton polarization asymmetries are largely insensitiv…
We present a theoretical reappraisal of the branching ratios and CP asymmetries for the decays $ B \to X_q \ell^+ \ell^-$, with $q=d,s$, taking into account current theoretical uncertainties in the description of the inclusive decay amplitudes from the long-distance contributions, an improved treatment of the renormalization scale dependence, and other parametric dependencies. Concentrating on the partial branching ratios $Δ{\cal B}(B \to X_q \ell^+ \ell^-)$, integrated over the invariant dilepton mass region $1 {GeV}^2 \leq s \leq 6 {GeV}^2$, we calculate theoretical precision on the charge-c…
We have calculated inclusive direct CP-asymmetries for charmless B^{+/-} -decays. After summing large logarithms to all orders the CP-asymmetries in Delta S=0 and Delta S=1 decays are found as a_{CP} (Delta S=0) = (2.0 +1.2/-1.0)% and a_{CP} (Delta S=1) = ( -1.0 +/- 0.5)%. These results are much larger than previous estimates based on a work without summation of large logarithms. We further show that the dominant contribution to a_{CP} (ΔS=0 ) is proportional to (sin gamma) times |V_{cb}/V_{ub}|. The constraints on the apex (rho-bar,eta-bar) of the unitarity triangle obtained from these two CP…
We analyze the $B\to K_2^*(\to Kπ)l^+l^-$ (with $l=e,μ,τ$) decay in the standard model and two new physics scenarios: vector-like quark model and family non-universal $Z'$ model. We derive its differential angular distributions, using the recently calculated form factors in the perturbative QCD approach. Branching ratios, polarizations, forward-backward asymmetries and transversity amplitudes are predicted, from which we find a promising prospective to observe this channel on the future experiment. We also update the constraints on effective Wilson coefficients and/or free parameters in these …
We analyzed the nonleptonic decays $B/B_s\to ψ(2S) V $ with $V=(ρ, ω, K^{*}, ϕ)$ by employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach. Here the branching ratios, the $CP$ asymmetries and the complete set of polarization observables are investigated systematically. Besides the traditional contributions from the factorizable and nonfactorizable diagrams at the leading order, the next-to-leading order (NLO) vertex corrections could also provide considerable contributions. The PQCD predictions for the branching ratios of the $B_{(s)}\to ψ(2S)K^{*}, ψ(2S) ϕ$ decays are consistent with th…
A doubly CKM-suppressed amplitude in $B^0\to J/ψK_S$ leads to corrections in CP asymmetries $S = \sin 2β, C=0$, which may be enhanced by long-distance rescattering. It has been suggested that this enhancement may lead to several percent corrections. We calculate an upper bound of order $10^{-3}$ on rescattering corrections using measured branching ratios for charmless $|ΔS|=1$ $B^0$ decays.
Search for patterns in the numerous B-decay modes now available is necessary in order to test the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa theory of CP-violation. In particular, the well-structured pattern of B to PI K branching ratios may lead to a quantized spectrum for direct CP-asymmetries, providing in this way a rather unique opportunity to discriminate between strong final state interaction models.
Motivated by the recent LHCb collaboration measurements of charmless three-body decays of $\bar B_s^0$ meson, we calculate the branching fractions of $\bar B_s ^0 \to K^0 π^+π^-$, $\bar B_s ^0 \to K^0 K^+K^-$, $\bar B_s ^0 \to K^0 π^+K^-$ and $\bar B_s ^0 \to \bar K^0 K^+π^-$ decay modes using the factorization approach. Both the resonant and nonresonant contributions are studied in detail. For the decays $\bar B_s ^0 \to K^0 π^+π^-$ and $\bar B_s ^0 \to K^0 K^+K^-$, our results agree well with experimental data, and the former is dominated by the $K^*$, while the latter one is dominated by th…
A phenomenological analysis of $D\to Kπ$ and $D_s^+\to K K $decays including both Cabibbo-favored and doubly-Cabibbo-suppressed modes have been presented by employing the present experimental data. SU(3) symmetry breaking effects from the decay constants and form factors have been taken into account in the analysis. Three asymmetries, $R(D^0)$, $R(D^+)$, and $R(D_s^+)$, which are generated through interference between Cabbibo-favored and doubly- Cabibbo-suppressed decays, are estimated. Theoretical results agree well with the current measurements.
Motivated by some new experimental data, we carry out a phenomenological analysis of D --> K pi decays including both Cabibbo favored and doubly Cabibbo suppressed modes. Two asymmetries, R(D^0) and R(D+), which are generated through interference between Cabbibo favored and doubly Cabibbo suppressed D --> K pi transitions, are predicted. The relative strong phase, delta_{K pi}, between D^0 --> K- pi+ and D^0 --> K+ pi- decays, is estimated. The theoretical results agree well with the current measurements.
We study the effects of models with a warped extra dimension on rare charm decays. While the new degrees of freedom in these models are bounded above a few TeV, they can leave signatures in rare charm decays with their tiny Standard Model background. We look at several channels with leptons in the final state along with several asymmetries of both kinematical and dynamical nature. CPT invariance is `usable' for analyzing the impacts of new dynamics in $D$ meson decays and in particular, rare decays of charm mesons.
We find a new $CP$-violation effect in charm decays into neutral kaons, which results from the interference between two tree (Cabibbo-favored and doubly Cabibbo-suppressed) amplitudes with the mixing of final-state mesons. This effect, estimated to be of an order of $10^{-3}$, is much larger than the direct $CP$ asymmetries in these decays, but missed in the literature. It can be revealed by measuring the difference of the time-dependent $CP$ asymmetries in the $D^{+}\toπ^{+}K_S^0$ and $D_{s}^{+}\to K^{+} K_S^0$ modes, which are accessible at the LHCb and Belle II experiments. If confirmed, th…
The study of local \cp \ asymmetry in Dalitz plots of charm (& beauty) decays gives us more information about the underlying dynamics than the ratio between total rates. In this paper we explore the consequences of the constraint from \cpt \ symmetry with emphasis on three-body $D$ decays. We show simulations of $D^{\pm} \to π^{\pm}K^+K^-$ and discuss correlations with measured $D^{\pm} \to π^{\pm}π^+ π^-$. There are important comments about analysies of recent LHCb data in \cp\ asymmetries for $B^{\pm}$ decays to three-body final states.
We calculate the branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries for $B_s^0 \to π^0 η^{(\prime)}$ decays in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach here. We not only calculate the usual factorizable contributions, but also evaluate the non-factorizable and annihilation type contributions. The pQCD predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios are $BR(B_s^0 \to π^0 η) \approx 0.86 \times 10^{-7}$ and $BR(B_s^0 \to π^0 η') \approx 1.86 \times 10^{-7}$. The pQCD predictions for the CP-violating asymmetries are $A_{CP}^{dir}(π^0 η)\sim -4.5 % $, $A_{CP}^{dir}(π^0 η')\sim -9.1% $, $A_{C…
We propose a theoretical framework to understand the observable charge-parity (CP) violation in charmless three-body $B^\pm$ decays. The decay amplitudes put together the $ππ\to KK $ re-scattering and the U-spin symmetry, treated within a CPT invariant framework. This approach applied to a two-channel model provides the magnitudes and signs of the ratios of the global CP asymmetries for $B^\pm \to K^\pm π^+ π^- \,$, $B^\pm \to K^\pm K^+ K^- \,$, $B^\pm \to π^\pm K^+ K^- \,$ and $B^\pm \to π^\pm π^+π^- \,$ decays, compatible with those obtained from the available experimental data. In addition,…
Based on the low-energy effective Hamiltonian with the generalized factorization, we calculate the new physics contributions to branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries of the charmless hadronic decays $B_s \to h_1 h_2$ in the standard model and the general two-Higgs doublet models (models I, II, and III). Within the considered paramter space, we find the following. (a) In models I and II, the new physics corrections are always small in size and will be masked by other larger known theoretical uncertainties. (b) In model III, the new physics corrections to the branching ratios of those QC…
We find new sum rules between direct CP asymmetries in $D$ meson decays with coefficients that can be determined from a global fit to branching ratio data. Our sum rules eliminate the penguin topologies $P$ and $PA$, which cannot be determined from branching ratios. In this way we can make predictions about direct CP asymmetries in the standard model without ad hoc assumptions on the sizes of penguin diagrams. We consistently include first-order SU(3)$_F$ breaking in the topological amplitudes extracted from the branching ratios. By confronting our sum rules with future precise data from LHCb …
The study of polarized branching ratio and different lepton polarization asymmeteries in the exclusive rare decays $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=μ, τ$) have been made in the standard model (SM) and in type III of the THDM. It has been found that the effects arise from the THDM are quite promising in the longitudinal and transverse polarized branching ratios $(\mathcal{B}_{L, T})$. Likewise, in case of $μ$'s as final state leptons, the polarized branching ratios have an order of magnitude difference from their SM results. Similar trends have also been observed both in the longi…
The exclusive $B_s -> γl^+ l^- $ decay is analyzed in the framework of a family nonuniversal Z' model by calculating the differential branching ratio, double lepton polarizations and forward-backward asymmetries. Our results are compared against those of the Standard Model. The predictions of this work are hoped to can be tested in the near future at LHCb.
We study the lepton angular distributions in $B\to D^{(*)} \ell ν_{\ell}$ decays. The lepton angular asymmetries in the decays with the general effective interactions are examined. We demonstrate that the asymmetries are sensitive to new physics with a right-handed quark current.
With heavy quark limit and hierarchy approximation $λ_{QCD}\ll m_D\ll m_B$, we analyze the $B\to D^0\bar D^0$ and $B_s\to D^0\bar D^0$ decays, which occur purely via annihilation type diagrams. As a roughly estimation, we calculate their branching ratios and CP asymmetries in Perturbative QCD approach. The branching ratio of $B\to D^0\bar D^0$ is about $3.8\times10^{-5}$ that is just below the latest experimental upper limit. The branching ratio of $B_s\to D^0\bar D^0$ is about $6.8\times10^{-4}$, which could be measured in LHC-b. From the calculation, it could be found that this branching rat…
Polarized forward-backward asymmetries in the (B_s -> l^+ l^- gamma) decay are calculated using the most general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian, including all possible forms of interactions. The dependencies of the asymmetries on new Wilson coefficients are investigated. The detectability of the asymmetries at LHC is discussed.
The measurement of the forward-backward asymmetries of heavy quarks provides one of the most precise determinations of $\sin^2θ_W$ in $Z$ decays. We discuss in detail the one--loop QCD radiative corrections to these asymmetries. Results are given for single heavy--quark jet asymmetries and asymmetries of the thrust axis, as well as for heavy--quark two--jet final states.}
We calculate various P-odd asymmetries appearing in the differential decay width for the cascade decay (Lambda_b -> Lambda(-> a+b) V^* (-> l^+ l^-)) with polarized and unpolarized heavy baryons including new vector type interactions and using the helicity amplitudes. It is obtained that the study of P-odd asymmetries can serve a good test for establishing new physics beyond the SM.
The rare Bc->Ds l^+ l^- decay is investigated by using the most general model independent effective Hamiltonian. The general expressions of longitudinal, normal and transversal polarization asymmetries for l^- and l^+ and the combined asymmetries of them are found. The dependencies of the branching ratios and polarizations on the new Wilson coefficients are presented. The analysis shows that the branching ratios and the lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the scalar and tensor type interactions. These results will be very useful in searching new physics beyond the standard mo…
The double-lepton polarization asymmetries in (B -> rho l^+ l^-) decay is analyzed in a model independent framework. The general expressions for nine double-polarization asymmetries are calculated. It is shown that the study of the double-lepton polarization asymmetries proves to be very useful tool in looking for new physics beyond the standard model.
Within the QCD factorization formalism, we study the possible impacts of the nonuniversal $Z^\prime$ model, which provides a flavor-changing neutral current at the tree level, on rare decays $B \to K_0^*π$. Under two different scenarios (S1 and S2) for identifying the scalar meson $K_0^*(1430)$, the branching ratios, CP asymmetries, and isospin asymmetries are calculated in both the standard model (SM) and the family nonuniversal $Z^\prime$ model. We find that the branching ratios and CP asymmetries are sensitive to weak annihilation. In the SM, with $ρ_A=1$ and $ϕ_A\in[-30^\circ, 30^\circ]$, …
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries for the exclusive decay B->K_1 l^+ l^- in the Universal Extra Dimension (UED) Model is studied. It is obtained that double-lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the UED model parameters. Experimental measurements of double lepton polarizations can give valuable information on the physics beyond the Standard Model (SM).
We study the CP asymmetries in lepton number violating two body scattering processes and show explicitly how they vanish, in agreement with unitarity constraints. We relate these cross section asymmetries to the CP decay rate asymmetries of the intermediate massive neutrinos and show how the inclusion of the Universe expansion via Boltzmann equations is the key ingredient to allow the production of a non-vanishing asymmetry in spite of the unitarity constraint on the cross sections. We then show that the absorptive parts of both the one loop vertex and self energy corrections do contribute to …
We study CP asymmetries in penguin-induced b -> s\bar{s}s decays in general left-right models without imposing manifest or pseudomanifest left-right symmetry. Using the effective Hamiltonian approach, we evaluate CP asymmetries in B^\pm -> ϕK^{(\ast)\pm} decays as well as mixing induced B meson decays B -> J/ψK_s and B -> ϕK_s decays. Based on recent measurements revealing large CP violation, we show that nonmanifest type model is more favored than manifest or pseudomanifest type.
In this paper, we investigate the effects of the fourth generation of quarks on the double-lepton polarization asymmetries in the $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay. It is shown that these asymmetries in $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay compared with those of $B \rar K \ell^+ \ell^-$ decay are more sensitive to the fourth-generation parameters. We conclude that an efficient way to establish the existence of the fourth generation of quarks could be the study of these asymmetries in the $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay.
The polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in (B -> rho l^+ l^-) decay using a general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian is studied. The general expression for nine double-polarization forward-backward asymmetries are calculated. The study of the forward-backward asymmetries of the doubly-polarized lepton pair proves to be very useful tool in looking for new physics beyond the standard model.
We study CP violation in chargino production and decay in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with complex parameters at an e^+ e^- linear collider with longitudinally polarized beams. We investigate CP-sensitive asymmetries by means of triple product correlations and study their dependence on the complex parameters M_1 and mu. We give numerical predictions for the asymmetries and their measurability at the future International Linear Collider. Our results show that the CP asymmetries can be measured in a large region of the MSSM parameter space.
We study the polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in (B -> K^* l^+ l^-) decay using a general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian. We present the general expression for nine double-polarization forward-backward asymmetries. It is shown that, the study of the forward-backward asymmetries of the doubly-polarized lepton pair is a very useful tool for establishing new physics beyond the standard model.
We study the forward-backward and the CP-violating asymmetries (both time-independent and time-dependent) in rare semileptonic and radiative leptonic B_{d,s}-decays and investigate the sensitivity of these asymmetries to the extensions of the Standard model.
