The exclusive $B_s -> γl^+ l^- $ decay is analyzed in the framework of a family nonuniversal Z' model by calculating the differential branching ratio, double lepton polarizations and forward-backward asymmetries. Our results are compared against those of the Standard Model. The predictions of this work are hoped to can be tested in the near future at LHCb.
We point out that, if the direct CP asymmetries in the $D \to π^+ π^-$ and $D \to K^+ K^-$ decays are unequal, the indirect CP asymmetries as measured in these modes are necessarily unequal. This nonuniversality of indirect CP asymmetries can be significant with the right amount of new physics contributions, a scenario that may be fine-tuned, but is still viable. A model-independent fit to the current data allows different indirect CP asymmetries in the above two decays. This could even be contributing to the apparent tension between the difference CP asymmetries $ΔA_{\rm CP}$ measured through…
In this work, within the QCD factorization approach, we investigate the branching fractions and CP asymmetries of decays $B \to K_0^*(1430)ρ$ and $B \to K_0^*(1430)ϕ$ under two different scenarios both in the standard model and the family nonuniversal $Z^\prime$ model. We find that the annihilation terms play crucial roles in these decays and lead to the main uncertainties. For decays $B^- \to \bar K_0^{*-} (1430)ρ^0 (ω)$, the new $Z^\prime$ boson could change branching fractions remarkably. However, for other decays, its contribution might be clouded by large uncertainties from annihilations.…
Lepton generation universality holds very well in Z decays, but appears to be violated in recent LEP data of W leptonic decay branching fractions. If this trend persists, a consistent and natural explanation is a model of generation nonuniversality, based on the gauge group SU(2)_L X U(1)_R X U(1)_{B-L}.
The flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) are derived at tree level if the electroweak gauge group depends on the fermion family, which are absent in the standard model. We study the lepton flavour violation (LFV) through the FCNC interactions in a nonuniversal gauge interaction model where the third generation fermions are subjected to the separate SU(2)$_L$ gauge group.
Within the QCD factorization formalism, we study the possible impacts of the nonuniversal $Z^\prime$ model, which provides a flavor-changing neutral current at the tree level, on rare decays $B \to K_0^*π$. Under two different scenarios (S1 and S2) for identifying the scalar meson $K_0^*(1430)$, the branching ratios, CP asymmetries, and isospin asymmetries are calculated in both the standard model (SM) and the family nonuniversal $Z^\prime$ model. We find that the branching ratios and CP asymmetries are sensitive to weak annihilation. In the SM, with $ρ_A=1$ and $ϕ_A\in[-30^\circ, 30^\circ]$, …
We investigate the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM), the muon electric dipole moment (EDM) and the lepton-flavour-violating decays of the $τ-$lepton, $τ\to μγ$ and $τ\to 3μ$, in the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with nonuniversal soft-supersymmetry breaking. We evaluate numerically the muon EDM and the branching ratios $B(τ\to μγ)$ and $B(τ\to 3μ)$, after taking into account the experimental constraints from the electron EDM and muon MDM. Upon imposition of the experimental limits on our theoretical predictions for the aforementioned branching ratios and …
We investigate χ^{+/-}_1 χ^0_2 pair production at LHC (CMS) with subsequent decays into leptons for the case of nonuniversal gaugino masses. Visibility of signal by an excess over SM background in 3 leptons + no jet + E^{miss}_T events depends rather strongly on the relation between LSP mass χ^0_1 and χ^{+/-}_1 mass. We also give some preliminary results on the investigation of squark and gluino production at LHC for the case of nonuniversal gaugino masses.
The possibility of explaining the current value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment in models with an additional U(1) gauge symmetry that has kinetic mixing with hypercharge are increasingly constrained by dark photon searches at electron accelerators. Here we present a scenario in which the couplings of new, light gauge bosons to standard model leptons are naturally weak and flavor non-universal. A vector-like state that mixes with standard model leptons serves as a portal between the dark and standard model sectors. The flavor symmetry of the model assures that the induced couplings of the…
We propose a new anomaly-free and family nonuniversal $\mathrm{U}(1)'$ extension of the standard model with the addition of two scalar singlets and a new scalar doublet. The quark sector is extended by adding three exotic quark singlets, while the lepton sector includes two exotic charged lepton singlets, three right-handed neutrinos and three sterile Majorana leptons to obtain the fermionic mass spectrum of the standard model. The lepton sector also reproduces the elements of the PMNS matrix and the squared-mass differences data from neutrino oscillation experiments. Also, analytical relation…
We explore a Z' boson with family-nonuniversal couplings to charged leptons. The general effect of Z-Z' mixing, of both kinetic and mass types, is included in the analysis. Adopting a model-independent approach, we perform a comprehensive study of constraints on the leptonic Z' couplings from currently available experimental data on a number of flavor-conserving and flavor-changing transitions. Detailed comparisons are made to extract the most stringent bounds on the leptonic couplings. Such information is fed into predictions of various processes that may be experimentally probed in the near …
We investigate squark and gluino pair production at LHC (CMS) with subsequent decays into quarks, leptons and LSP in models with effective supersymmetry where third generation of squarks is relatively light while the first two generations of squarks are heavy. We consider the general case of nonuniversal gaugino masses. Visibility of signal by an excess over SM background in $(n \geq 2)jets + (m \geq 0)leptons + E^{miss}_T$ events depends rather strongly on the relation between LSP, second neutralino, gluino and squark masses and it decreases with the increase of LSP mass.

Though not completely a surprise according to the standard model and existing indirect constraints, the Higgs-like particle, h, of mass around 125 GeV recently observed at the LHC may offer an additional window to physics beyond the standard model. In particular, its decay pattern can be modified by the existence of new particles. One of the popular scenarios involves a Z' boson associated with an extra Abelian gauge group. In this study, we explore the potential effects of such a boson with family-nonuniversal couplings on the leptonic decays of h, both flavor-conserving and flavor-changing. …
We calculate flavour dependent lepton asymmetries within the $E_6$ inspired Supersymmetric Standard Model. Our analysis reveals that the substantial lepton CP asymmetries can be induced even if $M_1\simeq 10^6 {GeV}$.
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries for the exclusive decay B->K_1 l^+ l^- in the Universal Extra Dimension (UED) Model is studied. It is obtained that double-lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the UED model parameters. Experimental measurements of double lepton polarizations can give valuable information on the physics beyond the Standard Model (SM).
Semi-leptonic and leptonic decays of B-mesons are important probes for testing SM and theories beyond it because of their relative cleanliness and far less theoretical uncertainties. In semi-leptonic decays based on quark level transition $b \to s τ^+ τ^-$ apart from branching ratio one can study many other (possible) observables associated with final state leptons like, lepton pair Forward Backward asymmetry, lepton polarization asymmetries etc. But as proposed recently if we can tag the B-meson than one can measure the polarization asymmetries of both the leptons. Here we will study the pola…
We discuss flavour dependent lepton asymmetries in the Exceptional Supersymmetric Standard Model (E$_6$SSM). In the E$_6$SSM, the right-handed neutrinos do not participate in gauge interactions, and they decay into leptons and leptoquarks. Their Majorana nature allows violation of lepton number. New particles and interactions can result in substantial lepton asymmetries, even for scales as low as $10^6 {\rm GeV}$.
The double-lepton polarization asymmetries in (B -> rho l^+ l^-) decay is analyzed in a model independent framework. The general expressions for nine double-polarization asymmetries are calculated. It is shown that the study of the double-lepton polarization asymmetries proves to be very useful tool in looking for new physics beyond the standard model.
We study the double-lepton polarization asymmetries and single and double-lepton polarization forward backward asymmetries of the rare b \to s \ell^+ \ell^- mode within the Standard Model and in the Appelquist-Cheng-Dobrescu model, which is a new physics scenario with a single universal extra dimension. In particular, we examine the sensitivity of the observables to the radius R of the compactified extra-dimension, which is the new parameter in this new physics model.
We study the lepton angular distributions in $B\to D^{(*)} \ell ν_{\ell}$ decays. The lepton angular asymmetries in the decays with the general effective interactions are examined. We demonstrate that the asymmetries are sensitive to new physics with a right-handed quark current.
The polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in (B -> rho l^+ l^-) decay using a general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian is studied. The general expression for nine double-polarization forward-backward asymmetries are calculated. The study of the forward-backward asymmetries of the doubly-polarized lepton pair proves to be very useful tool in looking for new physics beyond the standard model.
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries in (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay are calculated using a general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian. The sensitivities of these asymmetries to the new Wilson coefficients are studied in detail. Furthermore, the correlations between averaged double-lepton polarization asymmetry and branching ratio are analyzed. It is shown that there exist certain regions of the new Wilson coefficients where new physics can be established by measuring the double-lepton polarization asymmetries only.
By considering left-right (L-R) asymmetries we study the capabilities of lepton colliders in searching for new exotic vector bosons. Specifically we study the effect of a doubly charged bilepton boson and an extra neutral vector boson appearing in a 3-3-1 model on the L-R asymmetries for the processes $e^-e^-\to e^-e^-$, $μ^-μ^-\toμ^-μ^-$ and $e^-μ^-\to e^-μ^-$ and show that these asymmetries are very sensitive to these new contributions and that they are in fact powerful tools for discovery this sort of vector bosons.
We study the polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in (B -> K^* l^+ l^-) decay using a general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian. We present the general expression for nine double-polarization forward-backward asymmetries. It is shown that, the study of the forward-backward asymmetries of the doubly-polarized lepton pair is a very useful tool for establishing new physics beyond the standard model.
Recently, CMS and ATLAS collaborations at LHC announced a Higgs like particle with mass near $125$GeV. Regarding this, to explore its intrinsic properties, different observables are needed to be measured precisely at the LHC for various decay channels of the Higgs. In this context, we calculate the final state lepton polarization asymmetries, namely, single lepton polarization asymmetries ($P_i$) and double lepton polarization asymmetries ($P_{ij}$) in the SM for radiative semileptonic Higgs decay $H\toγτ^+τ^-$. In the phenomenological analysis of these lepton polarization asymmetries both tre…
General expressions for the double-lepton polarizations in the (B -> K l^+ l^-) decay are obtained, using model independent effective Hamiltonian, including all possible interactions. Correlations between the averaged double-lepton polarization asymmetries and the branching ratio, as well as, the averaged single-lepton polarization asymmetry are studied. It is observed that, study of the double-lepton polarization asymmetries can serve as a good test for establishing new physics beyond the Standard Model.
Several parity violating left-right asymmetries in Møller electron-electron and muon-muon scattering are considered in the context of the electroweak standard model at tree level in fixed target and collider experiences. We show that in colliders the asymmetry with only one of the beam polarized is large enough to compensate the smaller cross section at high energies. We also show that these asymmetries are very sensitive to a doubly charged vector bilepton resonance but they are insensitive to scalar ones.
Motivated by the large difference between the direct CP asymmetries $A_{CP}(B^-\to π^0 K^-)$ and $A_{CP}(\bar{B}^{0}\to π^{+} K^{-})$, we combine the up-to-date experimental information on $B\toπK$, $πK^{\ast}$ and $ρK$ decays to pursue possible solutions with the nonuniversal $Z^{\prime}$ model. Detailed analyses of the relative impacts of different types of couplings are presented in four specific cases. Numerically, we find that the new coupling parameters, $ξ^{LL}$ and $ξ^{LR}$ with a common nontrivial new weak phase $ϕ_L\sim-86^{\circ}$, which are relevant to the $Z^{\prime}$ contribution…
We study the single longitudinal-spin asymmetries in lepton-pair production with large transverse-momentum at RHIC and J-PARC experiments. The asymmetries in the azimuthal angular distribution of a lepton can arise from an absorptive part of production amplitudes. We revisit the one-loop calculation for the absorptive part of production amplitudes in perturbative QCD, and show that the asymmetries can be sizable at RHIC and J-PARC. Measurement of the asymmetries would test the one-loop prediction for the scattering phase of this process, and provide support for a study of the single transverse…
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries in (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay are calculated in universal extra dimension (UED) model. It is obtained that numerous double-lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the UED model and therefore can be very useful tool for establishing new physics predicted by the UED model.establishing new physics predicted by the UED model.
We study the forward-backward and the CP-violating asymmetries (both time-independent and time-dependent) in rare semileptonic and radiative leptonic B_{d,s}-decays and investigate the sensitivity of these asymmetries to the extensions of the Standard model.
We calculate flavour dependent lepton asymmetries within the $E_6$ inspired Supersymmetric Standard Model ($\rm E_6SSM$), which has an extra $U(1)_N$ symmetry. In this model, the right-handed neutrino doesn't participate in gauge interactions, allowing it to be used for both the see--saw mechanism and leptogenesis. Extra Higgs, leptons and leptoquarks predicted by the E$_6$SSM contribute to the ordinary lepton CP asymmetries induced by the decays of the lightest right--handed neutrino (and sneutrino) and give rise to a set of extra decay asymmetries. We find that the CP asymmetries can be rela…
Polarized forward-backward asymmetries in the (B_s -> l^+ l^- gamma) decay are calculated using the most general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian, including all possible forms of interactions. The dependencies of the asymmetries on new Wilson coefficients are investigated. The detectability of the asymmetries at LHC is discussed.
Lepton charge asymmetries can be used as an alternative means of searching for new physics. They are interesting because they are small in the Standard Model and therefore, necessarily evidence new physics. In this work we explore the use of lepton asymmetries as a probe of the flavour structure of the left-right symmetric model with spontaneous CP violation. We find that new physics may enhance the magnitude of $a_{SL}$ up to the precent level within the appropiate parameter space.
It has now become possible to observe appreciable numbers of hadronically produced lepton pairs in mass ranges where the contributions of the photon and $Z^0$ are comparable. Consequently, in the reaction $p \bar p \to \ell^- \ell^+ + \ldots$, substantial forward-backward asymmetries can be seen. These asymmetries provide a test of the electroweak theory in a new regime of energies, and can serve as diagnostics for any new neutral vector bosons coupling both to quarks and to charged lepton pairs.
The non-leptonic two body decays of D mesons are studied in the framework of an improved factorization approximation. The final state interaction effects are taken into account assuming them dominated by nearby resonances. The agreement with experimental data is quite good. CP-violating asymmetries are predicted.
We present a model for calculating charged-lepton mixing matrices. These matrices are an essential ingredient for predicting lepton flavor-violating rates in the lepton number nonuniversal models recently proposed to explain anomalies in B-meson decays. The model is based on work on "constrained flavor breaking" by Appelquist, Bai and Piai relating the charged-lepton mass matrix, M_l, to those for the up and down-type quarks, M_{u,d}. We use our recent model of lepton nonuniversality to illustrate the magnitudes of flavor-violating B-decay rates that might be expected. Decays with mu tau final…
It is shown that wave function renormalization can introduce an important contribution to the generation of baryon and lepton number asymmetries by heavy particle decay. These terms, omitted in previous analyses, are of the same order of magnitude as the standard terms. A complete cancellation of leading terms can result in some interesting cases.
Leptonic flavor-changing $H^0$ decays with branching ratios of the order of $10^{-5}-10^{-6}$ may constitute an interesting framework when looking for large $CP$-violating effects. We show that leptonic $CP$~asymmetries of an intermediate $H^0$ boson can be fairly large in natural scenarios of the minimal Standard Model ($SM$) with right-handed neutrinos, at a level that may be probed at future $H^0$~factories.
In this work we shall derive expressions for the single and double lepton polarization asymmetries for the exclusive decay $B \to K^* \ell^+ \ell^-$, using the most general model independent effective Hamiltonian. We have conducted this study with this particular channel as it has the highest branching ratio among the various purely leptonic and semi-leptonic decay modes, making this mode particularly useful for studying physics beyond the SM. We have also analyzed the effects on these polarization asymmetries, and hence the physics underlying it, when complex phases are included in some of th…
This study examines the influence of the fourth generation quarks on the double lepton polarizations forward--backward asymmetries in B \rar K^\ast \ell^+ \ell^- decay. We obtain that for both (muon, tau) channels the magnitude and the sign of the differential forward--backward asymmetries and the magnitude of the average forward--backward asymmetries are quite sensitive to the 4th generation quarks mass and mixing parameters. It can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effects, precisely, to search for the fourth generation quarks(t', b') via its indirect manifestations in the loop …
Parity violating left-right scattering asymmetries at future high energy e+e- and e-e- colliders are examined. The utility of two polarized beams for precision measurements is pointed out. Sensitivity to ``new'' short-distance physics is briefly discussed. Electroweak radiative corrections due to the running of sin^2(theta_W)(q^2) are exhibited.
In this paper, we investigate the effects of the fourth generation of quarks on the double-lepton polarization asymmetries in the $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay. It is shown that these asymmetries in $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay compared with those of $B \rar K \ell^+ \ell^-$ decay are more sensitive to the fourth-generation parameters. We conclude that an efficient way to establish the existence of the fourth generation of quarks could be the study of these asymmetries in the $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay.
Double polarized forward-backward asymmetries in $B\rightarrow K_{1}(1270,1400)\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ with $\ell=μ, τ$ decays are studied, using most general non-standard local four-fermi interactions, where the mass eigenstates $K_{1}(1270)$ and $K_{1}(1400)$ are the mixture of $^{1}{P}_{1}$ and $^{3}{P}_{1}$ states with the mixing angle $θ_{K}$. We have calculated the expressions of nine doubly polarized forward-backward asymmetries and it is presented that the polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries are greatly influenced by the new physics. Therefore, these asymmetries are interestin…
We present a study of non-leptonic B-meson decays, partial widths and CP asymmetries, and discuss the possibilities of determining the penguin contributions through less model-dependent phenomenological analyses. In the last section we employ a specific model to give more definite numerical predictions.
In this work we study the implication of the fourth generation standard model (SM4) to the single and double lepton polarization asymmetries in the $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$, $(l=μ,τ)$ decay. To see the variation in the values of lepton polarization asymmetries from the standard model values, we have taken lower bound values of CMS and ATLAS for $m_{t^\prime}=404$GeV and 552GeV respectively whereas $ϕ_{sb}$ is vary in two allowed regions $75^\circ-115^\circ$ and $240^\circ-290^\circ$ while for the numerical values of these asymmetries $|λ_{t^\prime}|$ is set to be $6\times10^{-3}…
We study the spin polarizations of both tau leptons in the decay b -> s tau+ tau-. In addition to the polarization asymmetries involving a single tau, we construct asymmetries for the case where both polarizations are simultaneously measured. We also study forward-backward asymmetries with polarized tau's. We find that a large number of asymmetries are predicted to be large, >~ 10%. This permits the measurement of all Wilson coefficients and the b-quark mass, thus allowing the standard model (SM) to be exhaustively tested. Furthermore, there are many unique signals for the presence of new phys…
We study the dilepton forward-backward and the longitudinal, normal and transverse lepton polarization asymmetries in the heavy baryon decays of $Λ_b\toΛl^+l^-$. We show that the asymmetries have a less dependence on the non-perturbative QCD effects. In the standard model, we find that the integrated forward-backward asymmetries (FBAs) and three components of the polarizations in the QCD sum rule approach (pole model) are $-0.13\ (-0.12)$ and $(58.3,-9.4,-0.07)%$ ($(58.3,-12.6,-0.07)%$) for $Λ_b\toΛμ^+μ^-$ and $-0.04 (-0.03)$ and $(10.9,-10.0,-0.39)%$ ($(10.9,-0.2,-0.34)%$) for $Λ_b\toΛτ^+τ^-$…
We argue that the longitudinal lepton polarization and the forward-backward asymmetries in exclusive $B\to (K,K^*)\ell^+\ell^-$ decays are largely unaffected by the theoretical uncertainties in the long-distance contributions both induced by the long-range charming penguins in the $\ell^+\ell^-$ channel and those in the meson channels encoded in the meson transition form factors, and are mainly determined by the short-distance Wilson coefficients at the low-energy scale $μ\simeq m_b$. Thus, the above mentioned asymmetries provide a powerful probe of the Standard Model and its extensions.
We study the effects on the leptonic asymmetries A_{FB}, A_{pol} and A_{LR} coming from a model of compositeness. We consider the effects coming from the self-energies and the vertex correction to $Z l^+ l^-$. Thus we use the Altarelli parametrization of the oblique corrections. We get the asymptotic limits of these corrections in terms of the parameters $(m^*, Λ, f, f')$ and we get bounds for the quotient $m^*/Λ$ with different values of $(f, f')$. We conclude that both asymmetries produce bounds for such quotient when $f'$ overweigth to $f$, and this fact is related with the breakdown of the…
It is shown that the longitudinal double spin asymmetry $A_{ll}$ in polarized diffractive $Q \bar Q$ production depends strongly on the spin structure of the quark-pomeron vertex. Relevant experiments will be possible at HERA with a polarized proton beam.
I study hard collisions between unpolarized protons and antiprotons where a lepton-antilepton pair is detected in coincidence with a final proton-antiproton pair, and no more particles are produced, in the regime 10 GeV^2 << s << 1000 GeV^2, M > 4 GeV, q_T < 3 GeV/c. The present work is centered on azimuthal asymmetries. Because of momentum conservation, a Boer-Mulders term in the momentum distribution of a quark implies a balancing effect in the momentum distribution of some spectators. This produces azimuthal asymmetries of the final hadrons. To analyze this, I have organized a parton-level …
The most general model-independent analysis of the lepton polarization asymmetries in the rare B decay, $\Bstt$, is presented. We present the longitudinal, normal and transverse polarization asymmetries for the $τ^+ $ and $τ^-$, and combinations of them, as functions of the Wilson coefficients of twelve independent four-Fermi interactions, ten of them local and two nonlocal. These procedures will tell us which type of operators contributes to the process. And it will be very useful to pin down new physics systematically, once we have the experimental data with high statistics and a deviation f…
It is shown that hypothetical neutrino-majoron coupling can suppress neutrino flavor oscillations in the early universe, in contrast to the usual weak interaction case. This reopens a window for a noticeable cosmological lepton asymmetry which is forbidden for the large mixing angle solution in the case of standard interactions of neutrinos.
We study the radiative dileptonic $B \rar γl^+ l^- $ transition in the presence of a universal extra dimension in the Applequist-Cheng-Dobrescu model. In particular, using the corresponding form factors calculated via light cone QCD sum rules, we analyze the branching ratio and double lepton polarization asymmetries related to this channel and compare the results with the predictions of the standard model. We show how the results deviate from predictions of the standard model at lower values of the compactification factor ($1/R $) of extra dimension.
Reasonably large relic neutrino asymmetries can be generated by active-sterile neutrino oscillations. After briefly discussing possible applications, I describe the Quantum Kinetic Equation formalism used to compute the asymmetry growth curves. I then show how the basic features of these curves can be understood on the basis of the adiabatic limit approximation in the collision dominated epoch, and the pure MSW effect at lower temperatures.
We obtain analytic expressions for the energy and polar-angle double differential distributions of a secondary lepton l+ (l-) arising from the decay of t (tbar) in e+e- -> t tbar with an anomalous tbW decay vertex. We also obtain analytic expressions for the various differential cross sections with the lepton energy integrated over. In this case, we find that the angular distributions of the secondary lepton do not depend on the anomalous coupling in the decay, regardless of possible anomalous couplings occurring in the production amplitude for e+e- -> t tbar. Our study includes the effect of …
Charged lepton transverse momenta in the Drell-Yan processes play an important role at the LHC in precision measurements of the Standard Model parameters, such as the W-boson mass and width, their charge asymmetries and sin^2(theta_W). Therefore, their distributions should be described as accurate as possible by the Monte Carlo event generators. In this paper we discuss the problem of matching the hard-process kinematics of the Monte Carlo generator WINHAC with the parton-shower kinematics of the PYTHIA 6.4 generator while interfacing these two programs. We show that improper assignment of the…
Precision determinations of Standard Model (SM) Electro-Weak (EW) parameters at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are dominated by uncertainties due to Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs). Reweighting and profiling techniques are routinely employed to treat this. We explore approaches based on combining measurements of charged current and neutral current Drell-Yan (DY) asymmetries to improve PDF uncertainties. We present the results of a numerical analysis performed with the open-source platform xFitter. PDF uncertainties are examined for lepton-charge and forward-backward asymmetries in region…
In this work we will study the polarizations of both leptons ($τ$) in the decay channel $B\to K^* τ^- τ^+$. In the case of the dileptonic inclusive decay $B\to K^* \ell^- \ell^+$, where apart from the polarization asymmetries of single lepton $\ell$, one can also observe the polarization asymmetries of both leptons simultaneously. If this sort of measurement is possible then we can have, apart from decay rate, FB asymmetry and the six single lepton polarization asymmetries (three each for $\ell^-$ and $\ell^+$), nine more double polarization asymmetries. This will give us a very useful tool in…
