The study of polarized branching ratio and different lepton polarization asymmeteries in the exclusive rare decays $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=μ, τ$) have been made in the standard model (SM) and in type III of the THDM. It has been found that the effects arise from the THDM are quite promising in the longitudinal and transverse polarized branching ratios $(\mathcal{B}_{L, T})$. Likewise, in case of $μ$'s as final state leptons, the polarized branching ratios have an order of magnitude difference from their SM results. Similar trends have also been observed both in the longitudinal and normal lepton polarization asymmetries $P_{L, N}$ as well as their average values. We hope that the possible signatures of these observables in $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ decays at different on going and future experiments will serve as a good tool in the indirect searches of an extra Higgs boson doublet.
Direct CP asymmetries (${\cal A}_{CP}$) in the inclusive decays of ${\overline B}\to X_sγ$ and ${\overline B}\to X_{s+d}γ$ of the order of $1\%$ will be probed at the BELLE II experiment. In this work, three such asymmetries are studied in the context of a three-Higgs-doublet model (3HDM), and it is shown that all three ${\cal A}_{CP}$ can be as large as the current experimental limits. Of particular interest is ${\cal A}_{CP}$ for ${\overline B}\to X_{s+d}γ$, which is predicted to be effectively zero in the Standard Model (SM). A measurement of $2.5\%$ or more for this observable with the ful…
In this paper we shall focus on the effects of concrete models such as SM and Model III of 2HDM on the polarized and unpolarized forward-backward asymmetries of $\overline{B}\rightarrow \overline{K}_0^{*}(1430) \ell^+\ell^-$ and $\overline{B}\rightarrow \overline{K} \ell^+\ell^-$ decays. The obtained results of these decay modes are compared to each other. Also, we obtain the minimum required number of events for detecting each asymmetry and compare them with the number of produced $B\bar{B}$ pairs at the LHC or supposed to be produced at the Super-LHC. At the end, we conclude that the study o…
The exclusive semileptonic $B\to K_{1}(1270) \ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=μ, τ$) decays are analyzed in variants of two Higgs double models (THDMs). The mass eigenstates $K_{1}(1270)$ and $K_{1}(1400)$ are the mixture of two axial-vector SU(3) $^{1}{P}_{1}$ and $^{3}{P}_{1}$ states with the mixing angle $θ_{K}$. Making use of the form factors calculated in the Light Cone QCD approach and by taking the mixing angle $θ_{K}=-34^{\circ}$, the impact of the parameters of the THDMs on different asymmetries in above mentioned semileptonic $B$ meson decays are studied. In this context the forward-backward…
We propose a CP-violating source in the charged Higgs sector of a 3-Higgs Doublet Model (3HDM) that will contribute to three CP-asymmetry observables for low energy processes. In the context of such a 3HDM, a measurement of one of the specific asymmetry observables (i.e., $\bar{B} \to X_{s+d} γ$) could obtain up to 2.5% or more, which would give a 5$σ$ evidence for physics Beyond the SM (BSM) from the full BELLE II data set. In addition to these CP-violating observables, the current measurements of Electron Dipole Moments (EDMs) constrain the available parameter region of the CP-violating 3HDM…
In this paper we analyze the dilepton mass square $q^2$ dependency of single lepton polarization asymmetries and CP violation for $\overline{B}\rightarrow \overline{K}_0^{*}(1430) \ell^+\ell^-, \ell=μ,τ)$ in the 2HDM context. Also, we study the averages of these asymmetries in the domain $4 m_{\ell}^2<q^2< (m_B-m_{{K}_0^{*}})^2$. Our study manifests that the investigation of the above-mentioned asymmetries for $\overline{B}\rightarrow \overline{K}_0^*(1430) \ell^+\ell^-$ processes could provide useful information for probing new Higgs bosons in the future B-physics experiments.
Using the general factorization approach, we present a detailed investigation for the branching ratios, CP asymmetries and longitudinal polarization fractions in all charmless hadronic $B \to VV$ decays (except for the pure annihilation processes) within the most general two-Higgs-doublet model with spontaneous CP violation. It is seen that such a new physics model only has very small contributions to the branching ratios and longitudinal polarization fractions. However, as the model has rich CP-violating sources, it can lead to significant effects on the CP asymmetries, especially on those of…
In the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model, the alignment of Yukawa matrices in flavour space guarantees the absence of tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents, while allowing at the same time for new sources of CP violation, implying potentially large effects in many low-energy processes. In this work we study the constraints from exclusive radiative $B\to Vγ$ decays, where $V$ denotes a light vector meson. The current experimental data on the CP-averaged branching ratios and the direct CP and isospin asymmetries are analyzed. It is found that, while the branching ratios and direct CP asymme…
Based on the low-energy effective Hamiltonian with the generalized factorization, we calculate the new physics contributions to branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries of the charmless hadronic decays $B_s \to h_1 h_2$ in the standard model and the general two-Higgs doublet models (models I, II, and III). Within the considered paramter space, we find the following. (a) In models I and II, the new physics corrections are always small in size and will be masked by other larger known theoretical uncertainties. (b) In model III, the new physics corrections to the branching ratios of those QC…
This study examines the influence of the fourth generation quarks on the double lepton polarizations forward--backward asymmetries in B \rar K^\ast \ell^+ \ell^- decay. We obtain that for both (muon, tau) channels the magnitude and the sign of the differential forward--backward asymmetries and the magnitude of the average forward--backward asymmetries are quite sensitive to the 4th generation quarks mass and mixing parameters. It can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effects, precisely, to search for the fourth generation quarks(t', b') via its indirect manifestations in the loop …
We study CP violation in $B\to K^* \ell^+\ell^-$ using generalized Dalitz plot asymmetries in the angular distribution. These new kind of asymmetries are constructed by adding B and ${\bar B}$ events, and do not require flavor or time tagging, nor is the presence of strong phases needed. Using this method one requires about $2 \times 10^8/η$ B's to measure the CP violating parameter $η$ in the Standard model. The two--Higgs doublet model requires only $10^7$ B's to constrain parameters better than done by the electric dipole moment of the neutron.
The Aligned Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (A2HDM) describes a particular way of enlarging the scalar sector of the Standard Model, with a second Higgs doublet which is aligned to first the one in flavour space. This implies the absence of flavour-changing neutral currents at tree level and the presence of three complex parameters. Within this general approach, we analyze the charged Higgs phenomenology, including CP asymmetries in the K and B systems.
In this work we study the implication of the fourth generation standard model (SM4) to the single and double lepton polarization asymmetries in the $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$, $(l=μ,τ)$ decay. To see the variation in the values of lepton polarization asymmetries from the standard model values, we have taken lower bound values of CMS and ATLAS for $m_{t^\prime}=404$GeV and 552GeV respectively whereas $ϕ_{sb}$ is vary in two allowed regions $75^\circ-115^\circ$ and $240^\circ-290^\circ$ while for the numerical values of these asymmetries $|λ_{t^\prime}|$ is set to be $6\times10^{-3}…
We study the effects of CP violation in charged Higgs boson production $pp\to t H^\pm + X$ at the LHC, as well as in the charged Higgs boson decays $H^\pm \to t b$ and $H^\pm \to W^\pm H_i^0$, $i=1,2,3$. The study is done in the framework of the type II complex Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) with softly broken $Z_2$ symmetry. In this model violation of CP invariance is induced by the complex parameter $m^2_{12}$ of the tree-level Higgs potential. We calculate the CP violating rate asymmetries for $H^+$ and $H^-$ production and decays as well as for the combined processes at one-loop level and …
Appreciable CP Asymmetries (~ 10%) can arise in the reaction e+ e- -> t bar-t Z already at TREE-LEVEL in models with two Higgs doublets. For a neutral Higgs particle, h, with a mass in the range 50 GeV < m_h < 400 GeV, it may be possible to detect a 2-3 sigma CP-odd effect in e+ e- -> t bar-t Z in ~ 1-2 years of running of a future high energy e+e- collider with c.m. energies of ~ 1-2 TeV and an integrated luminosity of 200-500 inverse fb.
We discuss possibilities of measuring CP violation in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model by studying effects of one-loop generated $ZZZ$ and $ZWW$ vertices. We discuss a set of CP-sensitive asymmetries for $ZZ$ and $W^+W^-$ production at linear $e^+e^-$-colliders, that directly depends on the weak-basis invariant Im $J_2$ that parametrises the strength of CP violation. Given the restrictions on this model that follow from the LHC measurements, the predicted effects are small. Pursuing such measurements is however very important, as an observed signal might point to a richer scalar sector.
We study the differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry in the forward-backward asymmetry and polarization asymmetries of the final lepton in the B-> X_d \ell^+\ell^- decays in the context of a CP softly broken two Higgs doublet model. We analyze the dependencies of these observables on the model parameters by paying a special attention to the effects of neutral Higgs boson (NHB) exchanges and possible CP violating effects. We find that NHB effects are quite significant for the τmode. The above-mentioned observables seems to be prom…

We consider an SU(3)'_c\times SU(2)'_L\times U(1)'_Y mirror sector where the field content and dimensionless couplings are a copy of the SU(3)_c\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y ordinary sector. Our model also contains three gauge-singlet fermions with heavy Majorana masses and an [SU(2)_L\times SU(2)'_L]-bidoublet Higgs scalar with seesaw-suppressed vacuum expectation value. The mirror sterile neutrino masses will have a form of canonical seesaw while the ordinary active neutrino masses will have a form of double and linear seesaw. In this canonical and double-linear seesaw scenario, we can expect …
We study the differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry in the forward-backward asymmetry and polarization asymmetries in the $B -> K \ell^+ \ell^-$ and $B -> K^* \ell^+ \ell^-$ decays in the context of a CP softly broken two Higgs doublet model. We analyze the dependencies of these observables on the model parameters by paying a special attention to the effects of neutral Higgs boson (NHB) exchanges and possible CP violating effects. We find that NHB effects are quite significant for both decays. A combined analysis of above-mentio…
We consider an SU(3)'_c\times SU(2)'_L\times U(1)'_Y dark sector, parallel to the SU(3)_c\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y ordinary sector. The hypercharges, baryon numbers and lepton numbers in the dark sector are opposite to those in the ordinary sector. We further introduce three types of messenger sectors: (i) two or more gauge-singlet Dirac fermions, (ii) two or more [SU(2)_L\times SU(2)'_L]-bidoublet Higgs scalars, (iii) at least one gauge-singlet Dirac fermion and at least one [SU(2)_L\times SU(2)'_L]-bidoublet Higgs scalar. The lepton number conserving decays of the heavy fermion singlet(s) …
Within the standard model (SM), the time dependent CP asymmetries in B -> psi K_S, B -> eta' K_S and B -> phi K_S are expected to give the same result i.e. sin (2 beta). However recent measurements of the mixing induced CP asymmetries in B -> phi K_S and B -> eta' K_S modes give results whose central values differ from SM expectations. We explore the effects of new physics in the two Higgs doublet model (THDM), which allows tree level flavor changing neutral currents (so called Model III), and the model with extra vector like down quark (VLDQ). We find that the observed mixing induced CP asymm…
Inspired by the observation of the doubly charmed tetraquark state $T_{cc}^+$ at the LHCb Collaboration, we systematically study the $S$-wave interactions between a pair of charmed mesons ($D_{1},\,D_{2}^{\ast}$) in the $T$-doublet, where we adopt the one-boson-exchange model and consider both the $S$-$D$ wave mixing and coupled channel effects. Our numerical results suggest that the prime doubly charmed molecular tetraquark candidates are the $S$-wave $D_1D_1$ state with $I(J^P)=0(1^+)$, the $S$-wave $D_1{D}_2^{\ast}$ states with $I(J^P)=0(1^+,\,2^+,\,3^+)$, and the $S$-wave ${D}_2^{\ast}{D}_…
The weak decays of $B \to K^{\ast}_0(1430) l^{+} l^{-}$ ($l=μ, τ$) are investigated in Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and also in Supersymmetric (SUSY) SO(10) Grand Unified Models. Neutral Higgs bosons are the point of main focus in MSSM because they make quite a large contribution in exclusive $B \to X_{s} l^{+} l^{-}$ decays at large $\tanβ$ regions of parameter space of SUSY models, as part of SUSY contributions is proportional to $\tan^{3}β$. The analysis of decay rate, forward-backward asymmetries and lepton polarization asymmetries in $B \to K^{\ast}_0(1430) l^{+} l^{-}$ sh…
We study the cosmological evolution of asymmetries in the two-Higgs doublet extension of the Standard Model, prior to the electroweak phase transition. If Higgs flavour-exchanging interactions are sufficiently slow, then a relative asymmetry among the Higgs doublets corresponds to an effectively conserved quantum number. Since the magnitude of the Higgs couplings depends on the choice of basis in the Higgs doublet space, we attempt to formulate basis-independent out-of-equilibrium conditions. We show that an initial asymmetry between the Higgs scalars, which could be generated by CP violation …
The B-factories results provide an impressive confirmation of the Standard Model (SM) description of flavor and CP violation. Nevertheless, as more data were accumulated, deviations in the 2.5-3.5 sigma range have emerged pointing to the exciting possibility of new CP-odd phase(s) and flavor violating parameters in B-decays. Primarily this seems to be the case in the time dependent CP asymmetries in penguin dominated modes (e.g. B -> phi (eta') Ks). We discuss these and other deviations from the SM and, as an illustration of possible new physics scenarios, we examine the role of the Top Two Hi…
When new CP-violating interactions are dominated by flavor changing neutral particle exchanges, that may occur in many extensions of the standard model. We examine a type 3 two Higgs doublet model and find that direct CP asymmetries can be as large as about 25% . Time-dependent and time-integrated mixing-induced CP asymmetries up to 85 and 40 %, respectively, are possible without conflict with other constraints. It mainly requirs an enhanced chromo-magnetic dipole $b\to sg$ decay to be close to the present experimental bound.
Models of asymmetric dark matter (ADM) seek to explain the apparent coincidence between the present-day mass densities of visible and dark matter, $Ω_{\mathrm{DM}} \simeq 5Ω_{\mathrm{VM}}$. However, most ADM models only relate the number densities of visible and dark matter without motivating the similar particle masses. We expand upon a recent work that obtained a natural mass relationship in a mirror matter ADM model with two Higgs doublets in each sector, by looking to implement dark electroweak baryogenesis as the means of asymmetry generation. We explore two aspects of the mechanism: the …
We study CP asymmetries in penguin-induced b -> s\bar{s}s decays in general left-right models without imposing manifest or pseudomanifest left-right symmetry. Using the effective Hamiltonian approach, we evaluate CP asymmetries in B^\pm -> ϕK^{(\ast)\pm} decays as well as mixing induced B meson decays B -> J/ψK_s and B -> ϕK_s decays. Based on recent measurements revealing large CP violation, we show that nonmanifest type model is more favored than manifest or pseudomanifest type.
We consider more than one pair of SU(2)_L doublet Higgs supermultiplets in a generic supersymmetric extension of the standard model, and calculate their one-loop contributions to the soft mass insertions delta_{LL} etc. We find that if large supersymmetry breaking in this sector is realized, the loop effects can give rise to large contributions to the soft mass insertions, meaning that they We apply our result to a recently proposed model based on the discrete Q_6 family group, and calculate the non-diagonal matrix element M_{12} of the neutral meson systems. We focus our attention on the extr…
Mixing lepton doublets of the Standard Model can lead to lepton flavour asymmetries in the Early Universe. We present a diagrammatic representation of this recently identified source of $CP$ violation and elaborate in detail on the correlations between the lepton flavours at different temperatures. For a model where two sterile right-handed neutrinos generate the light neutrino masses through the see-saw mechanism, the lower bound on reheat temperatures in accordance with the observed baryon asymmetry turns out to be $\gsim 1.2\times 10^9\,{\rm GeV}$. With three right-handed neutrinos, substan…
In a recently proposed neutrinophilic two-Higgs doublet model, the low-energy (sub-MeV) effective theory consists of a real scalar with a vev of O(0.1) eV and three Dirac neutrinos. Other models could lead to the same low energy theory. In this Brief Report, we study constraints on the parameter space of the model, including vacuum stability, unitarity, perturbativity and the effects on the invisible Z width. Interestingly, we find that all neutrinos become massless at temperatures above approximately 1000 K, but can find no phenomenological effects of this finding. The most direct test of the…
The latest LHC data confirmed the existence of a Higgs-like particle and made interesting measurements on its decays into $γγ$, $Z Z^\ast$, $W W^\ast$, $τ^+ τ^-$, and $b \bar{b}$. It is expected that a decay into $Z γ$ might be measured at the next LHC round, for which there already exists an upper bound. The Higgs-like particle could be a mixture of scalar with a relatively large component of pseudoscalar. We compute the decay of such a mixed state into $Z γ$, and we study its properties in the context of the complex two Higgs doublet model, analysing the effect of the current measurements on…
The top asymmetries measured at the Tevatron, and the discrepancy in the di-photon Higgs rate under investigation at the LHC represent two possible hints of physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). In this paper we address the possibility to explain and relate both these experimental anomalies with the help of an extra scalar doublet in addition to the SM particle spectrum. The connection is provided by the constraints that the electroweak precision tests impose on the oblique S and T parameters. As a result, considering the semi-leptonic single top production in the tW-channel at the LHC, our …
The rare radiative flavour changing top decays $t\to cγ$ and $t\to cg$ (and the even rarer $t\to uγ$ and $t\to ug$) have been processes of interest for decades as they offer a key probe for studying top quark properties. However an explicit analytical study of the branching ratios and $CP$ asymmetries resulting from these loop level processes has thus far evaded attention. In this work, we provide the formulation for the $CP$ asymmetry resulting from the total kinetic contribution of the loop integrals and their imaginary parts, as well as an updated numerical computation of the predicted Stan…
We discuss the features of a two-Higgs doublet model exhibiting a two stage phase transition. At finite temperatures electric charge violating stationary points are developed. In conjunction with {\em CP} violation in the Higgs or the Yukawa sector, the phase transition to the charge conserving vacuum, generates a net charge asymmetry $ΔQ$, in the presence of heavy leptons, which may be well above the astrophysical bounds put on $ΔQ$ unless the heavy leptons are sufficiently massive. This type of transition may be of relevance for supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model, since it share…
We study the possible existence of a real Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix, with CP violation originating from physics beyond the standard model (SM). We show that present experimental data allow for a real CKM matrix provided that new physics also contributes to Delta m_{B_d} by at least 20% of the SM contribution (for rho > 0), besides generating CP violation in the kaon sector. The naturalness of a real CKM matrix is studied within the framework of general multi-Higgs-doublet models with spontaneous CP violation. As an example, we discuss a specific two-Higgs-doublet model and its imp…
The asymmetries ${\cal A}_k \equiv [Γ(\twddec) -Γ(\tbwddec)] /[Γ(\twddec) + Γ(\tbwddec)]$ in the partial widths of the top quark decays are discussed within the Standard Model (SM), the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) and supersymmetric extensions of the SM (SSM). The leading contributions to these asymmetries in the SM and in the 2HDM are induced by the up-type quark self-energy diagrams and are found to be very small. However, in the SSM, the asymmetry ${\cal A}_b$ can be substantial, ${\cal O}(α_{QCD})$, provided the CP-violating phase of gluino-top-stop couplings is not suppressed. Within t…
In the context of a two-Higgs doublet model, supplemented by an additional light pseudoscalar Higgs boson and a stable isosinglet fermion, we consider the possibility of addressing simultaneously the discrepancy from the standard expectation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon recently measured at Fermilab and the longstanding problem of the dark matter in the universe which can be accounted for by a thermal weakly interacting massive particle. We show that it is indeed possible, for a range of masses and couplings of the new light pseudoscalar and the fermionic states, to explain at …
In this work, we consider an extension of the Standard Model (SM) with an inert Higgs doublet and a real scalar singlet, in order to address problems around the origin of dark matter (DM). In this model, the lightest among the CP-odd and CP-even neutral inert components plays the role of a DM candidate, where the model parameters are subject to many theoretical and experimental constraints. These constraints include vacuum stability, perturbativity, LEP negative searches, electroweak precision tests, Higgs di-photon, Higgs invisible and Higgs undetermined decays, DM relic density and DM direct…
We discuss the uncertainty related to the amount of unwanted $B\to K_0^\ast (Kπ)\ell^+\ell^-$ events in the sample of $B\to K^\ast (Kπ)\ell^+\ell^-$. Those events can increase the measured differential decay rate by up to 10% in the low $q^2$ region, and can be a source of non-negligible uncertainty in the full angular distribution of the $B\to K^\ast (Kπ)\ell^+\ell^-$ decay. Although the transverse asymmetries should be unaffected by the presence of the $S$-wave $Kπ$ pairs, coming from the scalar $K_0^\ast$ meson, we show that in practice their normalization might be sensitive to those events…
We propose an extension of the Standard Model by extending the EW symmetry to SU(2)_L x U(1) x Z_2 and introducing three SU(2)_L x U(1) singlet right handed neutrinos, N_R, and an additional Higgs doublet, phi. While the SM gauge bosons and the quarks and charged leptons acquire masses from the spontaneous breaking of SU(2)_L x U(1) symmetry at the electroweak scale, the neutrinos acquire masses from the spontaneous breaking of the discrete Z_2 symmetry at a scale of 10^{-2} eV. In addition to providing a new mechanism for generating tiny masses for the neutrinos, the model has interesting imp…
We study $B_c \to (D,\,D^{\ast})\,l\,ν$ semileptonic decays mediated via $b \to u\,l\,ν$ charged current interactions using the $B_c \to (D,\,D^{\ast})$ transition form factors obtained in the covariant light front quark model. We give predictions on the branching ratios, ratio of branching ratios, and various asymmetries pertaining to these decay modes within the standard model. These results can be tested in the ongoing or in the future experiments and can provide complimentary information regarding the observed anomalies in $B \to (D,\,D^{\ast})τν$ and $B_c \to J/Ψτν$ decays.
We perform a detailed study of a specific Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) with a U(1) gauge symmetry, instead of a typical Z2 discrete symmetry, containing a very light gauge boson Z' (GeV scale or below). The Standard Model (SM) fermions do not carry U(1) charges, but induced couplings to the Z' (called the dark Z) are generated through mixing with the SM neutral gauge bosons. Such a light Z' could explain some astrophysical anomalies as well as the muon g-2 deviation, and has been the subject of great experimental interest. We consider the scenario in which the 125 GeV SM-like Higgs (H) is th…
In the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model, we perform a complete one-loop computation of the short-distance Wilson coefficients $C_{7,9,10}^{(\prime)}$, which are the most relevant ones for $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ transitions. It is found that, when the model parameter $\left|ς_u\right|$ is much smaller than $\left|ς_d\right|$, the charged-scalar contributes mainly to chirality-flipped $C_{9,10}^\prime$, with the corresponding effects being proportional to $\left|ς_d\right|^2$. Numerically, the charged-scalar effects fit into two categories: (A) $C_{7,9,10}^\mathrm{H^\pm}$ are sizable, but $C_{9,10}…
In this study, we investigate muon $g-2$, $R_{K^{(*)}}$, and $R_{D^{(*)}}$ anomalies in a specific model with one doublet, one triplet, and one singlet scalar leptoquark (LQ). When the strict limits from the $\ell' \to \ell γ$, $ΔB=2$, $B_{s}\to μ^+ μ^-$, and $B^+ \to K^+ ν\barν$ processes are considered, it is difficult to use one scalar LQ to explain all of the anomalies due to the strong correlations among the constraints and observables. After ignoring the constraints and small couplings, the muon $g-2$ can be explained by the doublet LQ alone due to the $m_t$ enhancement, whereas the meas…
In models of three or more scalar doublets, new CP violating phases appear in charged scalar exchange. These phases affect CP asymmetries in neutral $B$ decays, even if Natural Flavor Conservation holds. The recent upper bound on the decay $b\rightarrow sγ$ constrains the effect to be at most of order a few percent. Modifications of constraints on the CKM parameters open an interesting new region in the $\sin2α-\sin2β$ plane even in the absence of new phases.
We study a new physics scenario with two inert and one active scalar doublets, hence a 3-Higgs Doublet Model (3HDM). We impose a $Z_2 \times Z'_2$ symmetry onto such a 3HDM with one inert doublet odd under the $Z_2$ transformation and the other odd under the $Z'_2$ one. Such a construction leads to a two-component Dark Matter (DM) model. It has been shown that, when there is a sufficient mass difference between the two DM candidates, it is possible to probe the light DM candidate in the nuclear recoil energy in direct detection experiments and the heavy DM component in the photon flux in indir…
We established the allowed parameters of two-Higgs doublet model(2HDM) from flavor physics observables, precisely from rare $B$ meson decays. In our analysis most formidable constraints on the 2HDM parameters arise from the branching ratio of rare radiative $B$ meson decay i.e., $B\to X_{s}γ$. However, the constraints arising from the branching ratio of $B_{s}\toμ^{+}μ^{-}$ decay in $m_{H^{\pm}}-\tanβ$ plane give $m_{H^{\pm}} >$ 80 GeV for the value of $\tanβ\sim 2$, that is in agreement with large electron-positron collider (LEP) data. Furthermore, we also investigate the bounds on the $CP$-e…
CP violation from physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) is investigated in the Cabbibo-suppressed decay $τ\to Kπν_τ$ with polarized $τ$ leptons, to which both the ${\rm J}^{P}=1^-$ resonance $K^*$ and the $ J^{P}=0^+$ resonance $K^*_0$ contribute. In addition to the CP-odd rate asymmetry, $τ$ polarization enables us to construct three additional CP-odd polarization asymmetries that can be enhanced due to the interference between the $K^*$ and $K^*_0$, and whose magnitudes depend crucially on the $K^*_0$ decay constant, $f_{K^*_0}$. Taking a QCD sum rule estimate of $f_{K^*_0}=45$ MeV and the …
By employing the QCD factorization approach, we calculated the next-to-leading order new physics contributions to the branching ratios, CP asymmetries, isospin and U-spin symmetry breaking of the exclusive decays $B \to V γ$ ($V=K^*, ρ$), induced by the charged Higgs penguins in the general two-Higgs-doublet models. Within the considered parameter space, we found that (a) the new physics corrections to the observables are generally small in the model I and model III-A, moderate in model II, but large in model III-B; (b) from the well measured branching ratios and upper limits, a lower bound of…
We investigate CP-violation effects in the bosonic sector of the Standard Model (SM) with two Higgs doublets. First we calculate the mass eigenstates of the physical neutral Higgses for small but nonzero CP-violation parameter $ξ_{\ast}$, and then a ``forward-backward'' asymmetry ${\cal A}_{fb}$ for the decay $H \to W^+W^-Z$ that would be a signal of CP-violation. Although the effects are in general small (${\cal A}_{fb} = Γ_{fb}/Γ\sim {\cal O}(10^{-3})$), ${\cal A}_{fb}$ turns out to be a rather clean signal of CP-violation, since neither the CP-conserving final state interactions nor the dir…
Flavor violating interactions of the Higgs boson are a generic feature of models with extended electroweak symmetry breaking sectors. Here, we investigate CP violation in these interactions, which can arise from interference of tree-level and 1-loop diagrams. We compute the CP asymmetry in flavor violating Higgs decays in an effective field theory with only one Higgs boson and in a general Type-III Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM). We find that large (~ O(10%)) asymmetries are possible in the 2HDM if one of the extra Higgs bosons has a mass similar to the Standard Model Higgs. For the poorly con…
We study the influence of lepton flavour asymmetries on the formation and the mass spectrum of primordial black holes. We estimate the detectability of their mergers with LIGO/Virgo and show that the currently published gravitational wave events may actually be described by a primordial black hole spectrum from non-zero asymmetries. We suggest to use gravitational-wave astronomy as a novel tool to probe how lepton flavour asymmetric the Universe has been before the onset of neutrino oscillations.
Models with two or more scalar doublets with discrete or global symmetries can have vacua with vanishing vacuum expectation values in the bases where symmetries are imposed. If a suitable symmetry stabilises such vacua, these models may lead to interesting dark matter candidates, provided that the symmetry prevents couplings among the dark matter candidates and the fermions. We analyse three-Higgs-doublet models with an underlying $S_3$ symmetry. These models have many distinct vacua with one or two vanishing vacuum expectation values which can be stabilised by a remnant of the $S_3$ symmetry …
We consider a multi-component dark matter model where the dark sector contains a scalar doublet and a complex scalar singlet. We impose a discrete $Z_4$ symmetry to ensure such that the lightest component of the doublet, $\tilde{A}$, and the singlet, $\tilde{S}$, are both stable. Interactions between the dark sectors impact significantly dark matter observables, they allow in particular to significantly relax the direct detection constraints on the model. To determine the parameter space that satisfies relic density, theoretical and collider constraints as well as direct and indirect detection…
We consider a version of Left-Right Symmetric Model in which the scalar sector consists of a Higgs bidoublet ($Φ$) with $B-L=0$, Higgs doublets ($H_{L,R}$) with $B-L=1$ and a charged scalar ($δ^+$) with $B-L=2$ leading to radiatively generated Majorana masses for neutrinos and thereby, leads to new physics contributions to neutrinoless double beta decay ($0νββ$). We show that such a novel framework can be embedded in a non-SUSY $SO(10)$ GUT leading to successful gauge coupling unification at around $10^{16}$ GeV with the scale of left-right symmetry breaking around $10^{10}$ GeV. The model can…
