We consider an SU(3)'_c\times SU(2)'_L\times U(1)'_Y dark sector, parallel to the SU(3)_c\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y ordinary sector. The hypercharges, baryon numbers and lepton numbers in the dark sector are opposite to those in the ordinary sector. We further introduce three types of messenger sectors: (i) two or more gauge-singlet Dirac fermions, (ii) two or more [SU(2)_L\times SU(2)'_L]-bidoublet Higgs scalars, (iii) at least one gauge-singlet Dirac fermion and at least one [SU(2)_L\times SU(2)'_L]-bidoublet Higgs scalar. The lepton number conserving decays of the heavy fermion singlet(s) and/or Higgs bidoublet(s) can simultaneously generate a lepton asymmetry in the [SU(2)_L]-doublet leptons and an opposite lepton asymmetry in the [SU(2)'_L]-doublet leptons to account for the cosmological baryon asymmetry and dark matter relic density, respectively. The lightest dark nucleon as the dark matter particle should have a mass about 5 GeV. By integrating out the heavy fermion singlet(s) and/or Higgs bidoublet(s), we can obtain three light Dirac neutrinos composed of the ordinary and dark neutrinos. If a mirror discrete symmetry is further imposed, our models will not require more unknown parameters than the traditional type-I, type-II or type-I+II seesaw models.
In this paper, we study the significance of the U$_\textrm{Y}$(1) Chern-Simons term in general, and its baryonic contribution in particular, for the evolution of the matter asymmetries and the hypermagnetic field in the temperature range $100$GeV$\leq T \leq 10$TeV. We show that an initial helical hypermagnetic field, denoted by $B_Y^{(0)}$, can grow matter asymmetries from zero initial value. However, the growth which is initially quadratic with respect to $B_Y^{(0)}$, saturates for values larger than a critical value. The inclusion of the baryonic contribution reduces this critical value, le…
We examine the validity of the generalized factorization method and calculate the angular correlations in the charmful three-body baryonic decays of $\bar B^0\to Λ\bar p D^{(*)+}$. With the timelike baryonic form factors newly extracted from the measured baryonic $B$ decays, we obtain ${\cal B}(\bar B^0\to Λ\bar p D^+,Λ\bar p D^{*+})=(1.85\pm 0.30,2.75\pm 0.24)\times 10^{-5}$ to agree with the recent data from the BELLE Collaboration, which demonstrates that the theoretical approach based on the factorization still works well. For the angular distribution asymmetries, we find ${\cal A}_θ(\bar …
We review the two and three-body baryonic $B$ decays with the dibaryon (${\bf B\bar B'}$) as the final states. Accordingly, we summarize the experimental data of the branching fractions, angular asymmetries, and $CP$ asymmetries. Using the $W$-boson annihilation (exchange) mechanism, the branching fractions of $B\to {\bf B \bf \bar B'}$ are shown to be interpretable. In the approach of perturbative QCD counting rules, we study the three-body decay channels. In particular, we review the $CP$ asymmetries of $B\to {\bf B\bar B'}M$, which are promising to be measured by the LHCb and Belle~II exper…
A Dirac shell model is developed for the study of baryon spectroscopy, taking into account the most relevant results of the quark-diquark models. The lack of translational invariance of the shell model is avoided, in the present work, by introducing a scalar-isoscalar fictitious particle that represents the origin of quark shell interaction; in this way the states of the system are eigenstates of the total momentum of the baryon. Only one-particle excitations are considered. A two-quark core takes the place of the diquark, while the third quark is excited to reproduce the baryonic resonances. …
With the experimental evidences of $\overline B {}^0\to p \overline{p}$ and $B^-\toΛ\overline p$ decays, it is now possible to extract both tree and penguin amplitudes of the charmless two-body baryonic $B$ decays for the first time. The extracted penguin-tree ratio agrees with the expectation. Using the topological amplitude approach with the experimental results on $\overline B {}^0\to p \overline{p}$ and $B^-\toΛ\bar p$ decay rates as input, predictions on all other $\overline B_q\to {\cal B} \overline {\cal B}$, ${\cal B} \overline {\cal D}$, ${\cal D} \overline {\cal B}$ and ${\cal D} \ov…
We investigate the rare baryonic $Λ_b\rightarrowΛl^+ l^-$ decays in a non-universal $Z'$ model, which is one of the well-motivated extensions of the standard model (SM). Considering the effects of $Z'$-mediated flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) we analyse the differential decay rate, forward-backward asymmetries and lepton polarisation asymmetries for the $Λ_b\rightarrowΛl^+ l^-$ decays. We find significant deviations from their SM predictions, which could indicate new physics arising from the $Z'$ gauge boson.
We revisit the effect of the (Dirac) CP-violating phase on neutrino lepton number asymmetries in both mass- and flavor-basis. We found that, even if there are sizable effects on muon- and tau-neutrino asymmetries, the effect on the asymmetry of electron-neutrinos is at most similar to the upper bound set by BBN for initial neutrino degeneracy parameters smaller than order unity. We also found that, for the asymmetries in mass-basis, the changes caused by CP-violation is of sub-\% level which is unlikely to be accesible neither in the current nor in the forthcoming experiments.
Nonzero neutrino masses imply the existence of degrees of freedom and interactions beyond those in the Standard Model. A powerful indicator of what these might be is the nature of the massive neutrinos: Dirac fermions versus Majorana fermions. While addressing the nature of neutrinos is often associated with searches for lepton-number violation, there are several other features that distinguish Majorana from Dirac fermions. Here, we compute in great detail the kinematics of the daughters of the decays into charged-leptons and neutrinos of hypothetical heavy neutral leptons at rest. We allow fo…
We compare relativistic mean field models with their low density expansion counterparts used to mimic non-relativistic models by consistently expanding the baryonic scalar density in powers of the baryonic number density up to ${\cal O}(13/3)$, which goes two orders beyond the order considered in previous works. We show that, due to the non-trivial density dependence of the Dirac mass, the convergence of the expansion is very slow, and the validity of the non-relativistic approximation {\bf is} questionable even at subsaturation densities. In order to analyze the roles played by strangeness an…
We consider sub-TeV scale flavoured resonant leptogenesis within the minimal type-I seesaw scenario with two right-handed singlet neutrinos $N_{1,2}$ forming a pseudo-Dirac pair, concentrating on the case of masses of the pseudo-Dirac pair having values $M_{1,2} \lesssim 100$ GeV. The case when the CP violating asymmetries in the individual lepton charges $L_l$, $l=e,μ,τ$, and in the total lepton charge $L$ of the Universe are generated in $1 \leftrightarrow 2$ decay processes is investigated. We show that successful leptogenesis is possible for $M_{1,2}$ lying in the interval $M_{1,2} = (0.3 …
The nature of neutrinos, whether Dirac or Majorana, is hitherto not known. Assuming that the neutrinos are Dirac, which needs $B-L$ to be an exact symmetry, we make an attempt to explain the observed proportionality between the relic densities of dark matter (DM) and baryonic matter in the present Universe ${\it i.e.,}\,\, Ω_{\rm DM} \approx 5\, Ω_{\rm B}$. Assuming the existence of heavy $SU(2)_L$ scalar doublet $(X= (X^0, X^-)^T)$ in the early Universe, an equal and opposite $B-L$ asymmetry can be generated in left and right-handed sectors by the CP-violating out-of-equilibrium decay $X^0 \t…
We introduce a model for matters-genesis in which both the baryonic and dark matter asymmetries originate from a first-order phase transition in a dark sector with an $SU(3)\times SU(2)\times U(1)$ gauge group and minimal matter content. In the simplest scenario, we predict that dark matter is a dark antineutron with mass either $m_{\bar{n}} = 1.36$ GeV or $m_{\bar{n}} = 1.63$ GeV. Alternatively, dark matter may be comprised of equal numbers of dark antiprotons and pions. This model, in either scenario, is highly discoverable through both dark matter direct detection and dark photon search exp…
In the vanilla type-I seesaw leptogenesis scenario, CP violation required to generate the lepton asymmetries in the heavy Majorana neutrino decays stem from complex Dirac-type Yukawa couplings. In this paper we explore the case in which that CP violation originates from the vacuum expectation value of a complex scalar singlet at a very high scale. This non-trivial CP-violating phase can be successfully communicated to the low-energy neutrino sector via the heavy neutrino portal. The new scalar-singlet degrees of freedom generate new contributions to the CP asymmetries relevant for leptogenesis…
The $CP$ violation in the neutrino transition electromagnetic dipole moment is discussed in the context of the Standard Model with an arbitrary number of right-handed singlet neutrinos. A full one-loop calculation of the neutrino electromagnetic form factors is performed in the Feynman gauge. A non-zero $CP$ asymmetry is generated by a required threshold condition for the neutrino masses along with non-vanishing $CP$ violating phases in the lepton flavour mixing matrix. We follow the paradiagm of $CP$ violation in neutrino oscillations to parametrise the flavour mixing contribution into a seri…
In this paper, we construct the first asymmetric strongly interacting massive particles (SIMP) dark matter (DM) model, where a new vector-like fermion and a new complex scalar both having nonzero chemical potentials can be asymmetric DM particles. After the spontaneous breaking of a U(1)$^{}_\textsf{D}$ dark gauge symmetry, these two particles can have accidental $\mathbb{Z}^{}_4$ charges making them stable. By adding one more complex scalar as a mediator between the SIMP DM, the relic density of DM is determined by $3 \to 2$ and two-loop induced $2 \to 2$ annihilations in this model. On the o…
We calculate Boltzmann neutrino energy transport with self-consistently coupled nuclear reactions through the weak-decoupling-nucleosynthesis epoch in an early universe with significant lepton numbers. We find that the presence of lepton asymmetry enhances processes which give rise to nonthermal neutrino spectral distortions. Our results reveal how asymmetries in energy and entropy density uniquely evolve for different transport processes and neutrino flavors. The enhanced distortions in the neutrino spectra alter the expected big bang nucleosynthesis light element abundance yields relative to…
Gravitational leptogenesis refers to a class of baryogenesis models in which the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe arises through the standard model lepton-number gravitational anomaly. In these models chiral gravitational waves source a lepton asymmetry in standard model neutrinos during the inflationary epoch. We point out that gravitational leptogenesis can be successful in either the Dirac or Majorana neutrino mass scenario. In the Dirac mass scenario, gravitational leptogenesis predicts a relic abundance of sterile neutrinos that remain out of equilibrium, and the lepton asymmet…
