Using the general factorization approach, we present a detailed investigation for the branching ratios, CP asymmetries and longitudinal polarization fractions in all charmless hadronic $B \to VV$ decays (except for the pure annihilation processes) within the most general two-Higgs-doublet model with spontaneous CP violation. It is seen that such a new physics model only has very small contributions to the branching ratios and longitudinal polarization fractions. However, as the model has rich CP-violating sources, it can lead to significant effects on the CP asymmetries, especially on those of penguin-dominated decay modes, which provides good signals for probing new physics beyond the SM in the future B-physics experiments.
We study the differential branching ratio, branching ratio and the forward-backward asymmetry for the exclusive $B_s->ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay in the two Higgs doublet model. We analyze the dependencies of these quantities on the model parameters and show that these observables are highly sensitive to new physics and hence may provide powerful probe of the SM and beyond.
Rare Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^- decay is investigated in framework of general two Higgs doublet model, in which a new source of CP violation exists (model III). The polarization parameter, CP asymmetry and decay width are calculated. It is shown that CP asymmetry is a very sensitive tool for establishing model III.
We calculate all the branching ratios and direct CP violations of $B \to PV$ decays in a most general two-Higgs-doublet model with spontaneous CP violation. As the model has rich CP-violating sources, it is shown that the new physics effects to direct CP violations and branching ratios in some channels can be significant when adopting the generalized factorization approach to evaluate the hadronic matrix elements, which provides good signals for probing new physics beyond the SM in the future B experiments.
We study the differential branching ratio, branching ratio and the forward-backward asymmetry for the exclusive $B \to π\ell^+ \ell^-$ and $B \to ρ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decays in the general two Higgs doublet model including the neutral Higgs boson effects. We analyze the dependencies of these quantities on the neutral Higgs boson contributions and the other model parameters. We observe that two Higgs doublet model with the neutral Higgs boson exchanges gives quite sizable contributions to these observables for both channels we consider. Since the neutral Higgs boson exchanges are the only source of …
Using the experimental data on meson decay rates, mixing and CP violation we set competitive upper and lower limits to the parameter tan(beta) as a function of the mass of the charged Higgs m_H in the Two Higgs Doublet Model (Model II).
We calculate the transverse muon polarization in the $K^+_{\mu3}$ process arising from the Yukawa couplings of charged Higgs boson in a general two-Higgs doublet model where spontaneous violation of CP is present
I study many higgs doublet supersymmetric model with spontaneous CP violation. The damaging flavor changing interactions and large CP violation are brought under control simultaneously by an approximate PQ symmetry. I relate the smallness of the CP violating parameter in the kaon system to the small ${m_b \over m_t}$ ratio.
We computed the leading order Wilson coefficients relevant to all the exclusive $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ decays in the framework of Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) with a softly broken $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry by including the $\mathcal{O}(m_b)$ corrections. We elucidate the issue of appropriate matching between the full and the effective theory when dealing with the (pseudo-)scalar operators for which keeping the external momenta different from zero is necessary. We then make a phenomenological analysis by using the measured $\mathcal{B}(B_s\to μ^+μ^-)$ and $\mathcal{B}(B\to K μ^+μ^-)_{\mathrm{high…
We study the differential Branching ratio and CP asymmetry for the exclusive decay B --> K^* l^+ l^- in the three Higgs doublet model with additional global O(2) symmetry in the Higgs sector. We analyse dilepton mass square q^2 dependency of the these quantities. Further, we study the effect of new parameter of the global symmetry in the Higgs sector on the differential branching ratio and CP asymmetry. We see that there exist an enhancement in the branching ratio and a considerable CP violation for the relevant process. In addition to this, we realize that fixing dilepton mass gives informati…
It has been known since decades that imposing a symmetry group G on the scalar sector of multi-Higgs-doublet models has consequences for CP-violation. In all examples of two- and three-Higgs-doublet models equipped with symmetries, one observes the following intriguing property: if G prevents explicit CP-violation (CPV), at least in the neutral Higgs sector, then it also prevents spontaneous CPV, and if G allows explicit CPV, then it allows for spontaneous CPV. One is led to conjecture that this is a general phenomenon. In this paper, we prove this conjecture for any rephasing symmetry group G…
Geometrical CP violation is a particular type of spontaneous CP violation in which the vacuum expectation values have phases which are calculable, i.e. stable against the variation of the free parameters of the scalar potential. Although originally suggested within a specific version of the three-Higgs-doublet model, it is a generic phenomenon. We investigate its viability and characteristic features in models with several Higgs doublets. Our work contains both general results and illustrative examples.
We study CP violation in a multi-Higgs doublet model based on a $S_3 \times Z_3$ horizontal symmetry. We consider two mechanisms for CP violation in this model: a) CP violation due to complex Yukawa couplings; and b) CP violation due to scalar-pseudoscalar mixings. We find that the predictions for $ε'/ε$, CP violation in B decays and the electric dipole moments of neutron and electron are different between these two mechanisms. These predictions are also dramatically different from the minimal Standard Model predictions.
Constraints on the whole spectrum of lepton flavor violating vertices are shown in the context of the standard two Higgs doublet model. The vertex involving the $e-τ$ mixing is much more constrained than the others, and the decays proportional to such vertex are usually very suppressed.
We discuss the feasibility of spontaneous CP violation being induced by radiative corrections in 2HDM's. Specifically, we analyze the cases of gaugino/higgsino effect on MSSM, and a new model with an extra exotic quark doublet. The new model, while demonstrating well the Georgi-Pais theorem, is also expected to be phenomenlogically interesting.
In the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model, the alignment of Yukawa matrices in flavour space guarantees the absence of tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents, while allowing at the same time for new sources of CP violation, implying potentially large effects in many low-energy processes. In this work we study the constraints from exclusive radiative $B\to Vγ$ decays, where $V$ denotes a light vector meson. The current experimental data on the CP-averaged branching ratios and the direct CP and isospin asymmetries are analyzed. It is found that, while the branching ratios and direct CP asymme…
We calculate the leading logarithmic QCD corrections to the matrix element of the decay b --> d e^+ e^- in the two Higgs doublet model with tree level flavor changing currents (model III). We continue studying the differential branching ratio and the CP violating asymmetry for the exclusive decays B --> πe^+ e^- and B --> ρe^+ e^- and analysing the dependencies of these quantities on the selected model III parameters, ξ^{U,D}, including the leading logarithmic QCD corrections. Further, we present the forward-backward asymmetry of dileptons for the decay B --> ρe^+ e^- and discuss the dependenc…
The two Higgs bi-doublet left-right symmetric model (2HBDM) as a simple extension of the minimal left-right symmetric model with a single Higgs bi-doublet is motivated to realize both spontaneous P and CP violation while consistent with the low energy phenomenology without significant fine tuning. By carefully investigating the Higgs potential of the model, we find that sizable CP-violating phases are allowed after the spontaneous symmetry breaking. The mass spectra of the extra scalars in the 2HBDM are significantly different from the ones in the minimal left-right symmetric model. In particu…
We study the differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry in the forward-backward asymmetry and polarization asymmetries in the $B -> K \ell^+ \ell^-$ and $B -> K^* \ell^+ \ell^-$ decays in the context of a CP softly broken two Higgs doublet model. We analyze the dependencies of these observables on the model parameters by paying a special attention to the effects of neutral Higgs boson (NHB) exchanges and possible CP violating effects. We find that NHB effects are quite significant for both decays. A combined analysis of above-mentio…
We discuss the formulation of the general two-Higgs doublet model type III, which incorporates flavor changing neutral scalar interactions (FCNSI) and CP violation from several sources. CP violation can arise either from Yukawa terms or from the Higgs potential, and it can explicit or spontaneous. We discuss the case that includes CP violation with Yukawa textures to control FCNSI and evaluate the CP asymmetry for the decay h-> c-b+ W-, which may allow to test the patterns of FCNSI and CP violation, that arises in these models.
The tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents in the two-Higgs-doublet models can be suppressed by protecting the breaking of either flavour or flavour-blind symmetries, but only the first choice, implemented by the application of the Minimal Flavour Violation hypothesis, is stable under quantum corrections. Moreover, a two-Higgs-doublet model with Minimal Flavour Violation enriched with flavour-blind phases can explain the anomalies recently found in the Delta F = 2 transitions, namely the large CP-violating phase in B_s mixing and the tension between epsilon_K and S_ψ_K.
Spontaneous CP violation motivates the introduction of two Higgs doublets in the electroweak theory, such a simple extension of the standard model has five physical Higgs bosons and rich CP-violating sources. Exploration on more than one Higgs boson is a direct evidence for new physics beyond the standard model. The neutral Higgs production at LHC is investigated in such a general two Higgs doublet model with spontaneous CP violation, it is shown that the production cross section and decays of the neutral Higgs boson can significantly be different from the predictions from the standard model.
We consider a particular two-Higgs-doublet model with spontaneous CP violation, where two neutral Higgses have no definite CP properties and the third one is CP-even. In this model, as the parameter $θ$ of CP violation increases, the masses of the neutral Higgs bosons are drawn towards the mass of the lightest one and the chance of detection of neutral Higgses at an $e^+e^-$ collider in Z+Higgs, $b\bar{b}$+Higgs and $t\bar{t}$+Higgs production increases with respect to the CP conserving case.
We show that in the multi-Higgs extension of minimal supersymmetric standard model, which has N-pairs of Higgs doublets (called NHMSSM), it is impossible to break CP spontaneously, if we do not allow for fine-tuning relations between parameters. The result holds true even in the presence of spontaneous R-parity breaking.
We show that in two Higgs doublet models at tree-level the potential minimum preserving electric charge and CP symmetries, when it exists, is the global one. Furthermore, we derived a very simple condition, involving only the coefficients of the quartic terms of the potential, that guarantees spontaneous CP breaking.
The two principles of spontaneous CP violation and natural flavor conservation can be realized in the $SU(2)_{L}\times U(1)_{Y}$ model with two Higgs doublets. In particular, this model provides a consistent application to the CP violating parameters $ε$ and $ε'/ε$ in kaon decay and the neutron electric dipole moment. The masses of the exotic scalars are unconstrained in this model and probing these exotic scalars must be valuable at the present energy scales. Large CP violations may also occur in the heavy quark and lepton sectors.
In Two-Higgs-Doublet models, the conditions for CP violation can be expressed in terms of invariants under U(2) rotations among the two SU(2) Higgs doublet fields. In order to design a strategy for measuring the invariants we express them in terms of observables, i.e., masses and couplings of scalar bosons. We find amplitudes directly sensitive to the invariants. Observation of the Standard-Model-like Higgs boson at the LHC severely constrains the models. In particular, in the model with Z_2 symmetry imposed on dimension-4 terms (in order to eliminate tree-level flavour-changing neutral curren…
Assuming CP violation arises solely through the Higgs potential, we develop the most general two-Higgs doublet model. There is no discrete symmetry that distinguishes the two Higgs bosons. It is assumed that an approximate global family symmetry sufficiently suppresses flavor-changing neutral scalar interactions. In addition to a CKM phase, neutral boson mixing, and superweak effects, there can be significant CP violation due to charged Higgs boson exchange. The value of $ε'/ε$ due to this last effect could be as large as in the standard model.
We discuss the CP properties of the potential in the general Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (THDM). This is done in a concise way using real gauge invariant functions built from the scalar products of the doublet fields. The space of these invariant functions, parametrising the gauge orbits of the Higgs fields, is isomorphic to the forward light cone and its interior. CP transformations are shown to correspond to reflections in the space of the gauge invariant functions. We consider CP transformations where no mixing of the Higgs doublets is taken into account as well as the general case where the Hi…
In the most general two-Higgs doublet model with an approximate family symmetry and CP violation being originated solely from the relative phase of two vacuum expectation values, CP asymmetry in the decay $b\rightarrow sγ$ may arise from the CP violation of the charged Higgs boson interactions with fermions. This asymmetry may be larger than in the standard model and can lie between $10^{-2}$ and $10^{-1}$. The decay rate of $b\rightarrow sγ$ is allowed to be smaller or larger than in the standard model
CP violation in semileptonic top-quark decay is investigated by exactly using one charged- and three neutral-Higgs bosons obtained by solving the Higgs mass matrix in two-Higgs doublet model. The CP-violating up-down asymmetry of leptons from $W$ boson decays is shown to be $1 \times 10^{-4} - 4 \times 10^{-3}$ for the region of ${\rm tan} β\ll 1$, where ${\rm tan} β$ is the ratio of vacuum expectation values for the two neutral Higgs bosons.
We consider supersymmetric extensions of the standard model with two pairs of Higgs doublets. We study the possibility that CP violation is generated spontaneously in the scalar sector via vacuum expectation values (VEVs) of the Higgs fields. Using a simple geometrical interpretation of the minimum conditions we prove that the minimum of the tree-level scalar potential for these models is allways real. We show that complex VEVs can appear once radiative corrections and/or explicit {\it soft} CP violating terms are added to the effective potential.
We put forward a two-Higgs-doublet model, furnished with a $Z_3$ symmetry, wherein $CP$ is conserved in the dimension-four terms of the Lagrangian and is softly broken in the scalar potential. The new particles of our model are one neutral scalar $H$, one neutral pseudoscalar $A$, and two charged scalars $H^\pm$. In our model the only locus of $CP$ violation is the CKM matrix. Strong $CP$ violation is absent both at the tree and one-loop levels. We work out the phenomenological constraints on our model, which features flavour-changing neutral Yukawa interactions, showing that the new scalar pa…
We find a large CP violation effect within the Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model for the reaction $e^+e^-\to t\bar{t}H^0$ at future linear colliders. The CP-asymmetry arises already at the tree level as a result of interference between diagrams with $H^0$ emission from $t$ (and $\bar{t}$) and its emission from a $Z^0$ and can be about 10--20\%. In the best case one needs a few hundred $t\bar{t}H^0$ events to observe CP violation at the 3$σ$ level.
The Aligned Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (A2HDM) describes a particular way of enlarging the scalar sector of the Standard Model, with a second Higgs doublet which is aligned to first the one in flavour space. This implies the absence of flavour-changing neutral currents at tree level and the presence of three complex parameters. Within this general approach, we analyze the charged Higgs phenomenology, including CP asymmetries in the K and B systems.
We discuss CP violation in top-antitop production at the LHC, induced by gluon fusion and final-state Higgs exchange. Results by Bernreuther and Brandenburg are confirmed and further reduced. The lepton energy asymmetry is studied in detail in explicit Two-Higgs-Doublet Models with near-maximal mixing in the neutral Higgs sector. Unless there is only one light Higgs particle, and unless (in Model II) tanbeta \lsim 1, the CP-violating effects are very small, possibly too small to be seen at the LHC.
We study the decay width and CP asymmetry of the inclusive process b--> s g (g denotes gluon) in the multi Higgs doublet models with complex Yukawa couplings, including next to leading QCD corrections. We analyse the dependencies of the decay width and CP asymmetry on the scale μand CP violating parameter θ. We observe that there exist an enhancement in the decay width and CP asymmetry is at the order of 10^{-2}.
We discuss possibilities of measuring CP violation in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model by studying effects of one-loop generated $ZZZ$ and $ZWW$ vertices. We discuss a set of CP-sensitive asymmetries for $ZZ$ and $W^+W^-$ production at linear $e^+e^-$-colliders, that directly depends on the weak-basis invariant Im $J_2$ that parametrises the strength of CP violation. Given the restrictions on this model that follow from the LHC measurements, the predicted effects are small. Pursuing such measurements is however very important, as an observed signal might point to a richer scalar sector.
We study CP violation in a multi-Higgs doublet model based on a $S_3 \times Z_3$ horizontal symmetry where CKM phase is not the principal source of CP violation. We consider two mechanisms for CP violation in this model: a) CP violation due to complex Yukawa couplings; and b) CP violation due to scalar-pseudoscalar Higgs boson mixings. Both mechanisms can explain the observed CP violation in the neutral Kaon system. $ε'/ε$ due to neutral Higgs boson exchange is small in both mechanisms, but charged Higgs boson con- tributions can be as large as $10^{-3}$ for a), and $10^{-4}$ for b). CP violat…
Due to the large mass of top quark, CP violation in the top-quark decay is sensitive to the interactions mediated by Higgs bosons. We consider CP violation in $t\rightarrow W^+ b$ decay by calculating consistently in unitary gauge the CP-violating up-down asymmetry of the leptons from $W$ boson decays in $t\rightarrow W^+ b$, defined by Grzcadkowski and Gunion, in the two-Higgs doublet model with CP-violating neutral sector. The asymmetry is shown to be at most of the order of $(1-3)\times 10^{-4}$ for $\tanβ=1.0$, where $\tanβ$ is the ratio of vacuum expectation values for the two neutral Hig…
We revisit the singlet-doublet dark matter model with a special emphasis on the effect of CP violation on the dark matter phenomenology. The CP violation in the dark sector induces a pseudoscalar interaction of a fermionic dark matter candidate with the SM Higgs boson. The pseudoscalar interaction helps the dark matter candidate evade the strong constraints from the dark matter direct detection experiments. We show that the model can explain the measured value of the dark matter density even if dark matter direct detection experiments do not observe any signal. We also show that the electron e…
In this work we study the anomalous top quark-gluon couplings Chromoelectric Dipole Moment (CEDM) and Chromomagnetic Dipole Moment (CMDM) in a general THDM with CP violation. We find that this model provides an important contribution from the $Y_{tt}$ Yukawa coupling that needs to be taken into account. The CMDM and CEDM obtained are $-0.03<Δ\tilde{k} < 0.005}$ and $|Δ\tilde{d}| < 0.005$, respectively.
We study CP-Violation (CPV) in a Composite 2-Higgs Doublet Model (C2HDM) based on the global symmetry breaking $SO(6)/[SO(4)\times SO(2)]$, wherein the strong sector is modeled by a two-site moose structure. Non-trivial complex phases in the interactions involving fermions in both the elementary and strong sectors can induce CPV in the Higgs potential as well as the Yukawa coupling parameters. We compute both of the latter and analyse their dependence upon the aforementioned complex phases. Finally, we discuss physics observables which are distinctive of this model. Even in the simplest case w…
We investigate CP-violation effects in the bosonic sector of the Standard Model (SM) with two Higgs doublets. First we calculate the mass eigenstates of the physical neutral Higgses for small but nonzero CP-violation parameter $ξ_{\ast}$, and then a ``forward-backward'' asymmetry ${\cal A}_{fb}$ for the decay $H \to W^+W^-Z$ that would be a signal of CP-violation. Although the effects are in general small (${\cal A}_{fb} = Γ_{fb}/Γ\sim {\cal O}(10^{-3})$), ${\cal A}_{fb}$ turns out to be a rather clean signal of CP-violation, since neither the CP-conserving final state interactions nor the dir…
The most general two Higgs doublet model contains new sources of flavour violation that are usually in conflict with the experimental constraints. One possibility to suppress the exotic contribution to the flavour changing neutral currents consists on imposing the alignment of the Yukawa couplings. This condition presumably holds at a high-energy scale and is spoiled by the radiative corrections. We compute in this letter the size of the radiatively induced flavour violating Higgs couplings at the electroweak scale. These also yield the absolute lower bound on the size of the exotic contributi…
The Two-Higgs-Doublet Model is considered, in its CP-non-conserving version. It is shown quantitatively how vacuum stability and tree-level unitarity in the Higgs-Higgs-scattering sector constrain the parameter space of the model. In particular, at high values of tanbeta, the model violates unitarity, unless some of the Higgs bosons are heavy. In the regime of large CP violation in the neutral-Higgs-t-quark sector, which requires tanbeta lsim 1, the Yukawa coupling parameter space (determined by the neutral-Higgs-sector rotation matrix) is reasonably unconstrained. On the other hand, the corre…
I rebuild a conventional two-Higgs doublet model by relaxing the spontaneous CP violation and considering approximate global U(1) family symmetries. So that the domain-wall problem does not explicitly arise at the weak scale, but CP violation still solely originates from a single CP-phase in the vacuum after spontaneous symmetry breaking. With this phase four types of CP-violating mechanism are induced in the model. In particular, by a new type of the mechanism, both the indirect- and direct- CP violation (i.e. $ε$ and $ε'/ε$) in kaon decay and the neutron electric dipole moment can be consist…
We discuss the feasibility of spontaneous CP violation being induced by radiative corrections in 2HDM's, emphasizing on a consistent treatment at 1-loop level. Specifically, we analyze the cases of gaugino/higgsino effect on MSSM, and a new model proposed here with an extra, exotic, quark doublet. The latter model is phenomenologically interesting. One conclusion is that some fine tuning is in general needed for the scenario to work. The case for the new model requires a tree level mass mixing between the two Higgses, which fits in the standard SUSY picture. The fine tuning requires is then ve…
In these proceedings we review the flavour phenomenology of 2HDMs with generic Yukawa structures. We first consider the quark sector and find that despite the stringent constraints from FCNC processes large effects in tauonic B decays are still possible. We then consider lepton flavour observables, show correlations between μ-> eγand μ^- -> e^-e^+e^- in the 2HDM of type III and give upper bounds on the lepton flavour violating B decay B_d -> μe.
We demonstrate a new type of cancellation of contributions to the electron and neutron electric dipole moments (EDMs) that occurs in three Higgs doublet models (3HDMs) when CP violation appears in the charged Higgs sector. The cancellation becomes exact when the two physical charged Higgs bosons in the model are degenerate in mass. Depending on the model parameters, degeneracies at the 10\% level are however sufficient to evade current bounds on the electron and neutron EDMs. We demonstrate that viable parameter space remains with both charged Higgs bosons lighter than 500 GeV and large CP-vio…
A phenomenological analysis of the general two Higgs doublet model is presented. Possible constraints of the Yukawa couplings are obtained from the $K^0-\bar{K}^0, B^0-\bar{B}^0$ and $D^0-\bar{D}^0$ mixings. A much larger $D^0-\bar{D}^0$ mixing than the standard model prediction is possible. It is shown that the emerging of various new sources of CP violation in the model could strongly affect the determination of the unitarity triangle. It can be helpful to look for a signal of new physics by comparing the extracted angle $β$ from two different ways, such as from the process $B\to J/ψK_{S}$ a…
We explore the parameter space of the type-II two-Higgs-doublet model with softly broken Z2 symmetry, allowing for CP violation in the scalar potential. Imposing theory-motivated and experimentally-driven constraints, we show that as the CP-violating phases are increased, only small regions of parameter space survive, including regions slightly away from the alignment limit. Electroweak oblique parameters and electric dipole moments emerge as most restrictive constraints. We show that imposing these constraints (as well as theoretical bounds such as perturbativity) the masses of the charged an…
In a general two-scalar-doublet model without fermions, there is a unique source of CP violation, $ J_1 $, in the gauge interactions of the scalars. It arises in the mixing of the three neutral physical scalars $ X_1 $, $ X_2 $ and $ X_3 $. CP violation may be observed via different decay rates for $ X_1 \rightarrow H^+ W^- $ and $ X_1 \rightarrow H^- W^+ $ (or, alternatively, for $ H^+ \rightarrow X_1 W^+ $ and $ H^- \rightarrow X_1 W^- $ --- depending on which decays are kinematically allowed). I compute the part of those CP-violating decay-rate differences which is proportional to $ J_1 $. …
We study the implementation of global $SO(4)\sim SU(2)_L\otimes SU(2)_R$ symmetry in general potentials with N-Higgs-doublets in order to obtain models with custodial $SO(3)_C$ symmetry. We conclude that any implementation of the custodial SO(4) symmetry is equivalent, by a basis transformation, to a canonical one if $SU(2)_L$ is the gauge factor, $U(1)_Y$ is embedded in $SU(2)_R$ and we require $N$ copies of the doublet representation of $SU(2)_R$. The invariance by SO(4) automatically leads to a CP invariant potential and the basis of the canonical implementation of SO(4) is aligned to a bas…
Current experimental data from the $g-2$ muon factor, seems to show the necessity of physics beyond the Standard Model (SM), since the difference between SM and experimental predictions is 2.6$σ$. In the framework of the General Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM), we calculate the muon anomalous magnetic moment to get lower and upper bounds for the Flavour Changing (FC) Yukawa couplings in the leptonic sector. We also obtain lower bounds for the mass of the pseudoscalar Higgs ($m_{A^0}$) as a function of the parameters of the model.
We carry out a detailed analysis of the general two Higgs doublet model with CP violation. We describe two different parametrizations of this model, and then study the Higgs boson masses and the trilinear Higgs couplings for these two parametrizations. Within a rather general model, we find that the trilinear Higgs couplings have a significant dependence on the details of the model, even when the lightest Higgs boson mass is taken to be a fixed parameter. We include radiative corrections in the one-loop effective potential approximation in our analysis of the Higgs boson masses and the Higgs t…
A left-right symmetric model with two Higgs bi-doublet is shown to be a consistent model for both spontaneous P and CP violation. The flavor changing neutral currents can be suppressed by the mechanism of approximate global U(1) family symmetry. We calculate the constraints from neural $K$ meson mass difference $Δm_K$ and demonstrate that a right-handed gauge boson $W_2$ contribution in box-diagrams with mass well below 1 TeV is allowed due to a cancellation caused by a light charged Higgs boson with a mass range $150 \sim 300$ GeV. The $W_2$ contribution to $ε_K$ can be suppressed from approp…
We quantitatively study the charge transport mechanism of electroweak baryogenesis in a realistic two-Higgs-doublet model, comparing the contributions from quarks and leptons reflecting from electroweak domain walls, and comparing the exact profile of the CP-violating phase with a commonly used ansatz. We note that the phenomenon of spontaneous CP violation at high temperature can occur in this model, even when there is no CP violation at zero temperature. We include all known effects which are likely to influence the baryon production rate, including strong sphalerons, the nontrivial dispersi…
We discuss the singlet-doublet fermion dark matter model with CP-violation. In this model, the CP-violation generates a pseudo-scalar interaction of dark matter with the SM-Higgs boson. Thanks to the pseudo-scalar interaction, the model can evade the strong constraint from the dark matter direct detection experiments while keeping the success of the thermal relic scenario. The CP-violation also predicts signals in dark matter indirect detection experiments and electric dipole moments (EDM) that can be as large as the current upper bound. We investigate the constraints and prospects of the dire…
The CP-violating effects are studied in the electron-positron annihilation to produce $t\bar{t}$ pair within the Model-III of the two-Higgs-doublet extensions, which allows flavor changing neutral currents via Higgs exchanges. Complete analytical expressions for the form factors of the top quark electric and weak dipole moment induced in the framework of the model are presented. Several observables sensitive to the CP violation are calculated. The dependences of the CP-violating effects on Higgs boson masses and the possible phase angles are discussed. We find that the CP-violating observables…
