Mabuchi introduced multiplier Hermitian structures on compact Kahler manifolds and defined metrics similar to Kahler-Einstein metrics under these structures. In this note we generalize the inequality of Moser-Trudinger type on Kahler-Einstein manifolds to this case.
We prove that locally conformally Kähler metrics on certain compact complex surfaces with odd first Betti number can be deformed to new examples of bi-Hermitian metrics.
In this paper, we analyze the asymptotic behaviour of the Hermitian-Yang-Mills flow over a compact non-Kähler manifold $(X,g)$ with the Hermitian metric $g$ satisfying the Gauduchon and Astheno-Kähler condition.
Nearly Kähler and Kähler-Codazzi type manifolds are defined in a very similar way. We prove that nearly Kähler type manifolds have sense just in Hermitian and para-Hermitian contexts, and that Kähler-Codazzi type manifolds reduce to Kähler type manifolds in all the four Hermitian, para-Hermitian, Norden and product Riemannian geometries.
We show that a closed almost Kähler 4-manifold of globally constant holomorphic sectional curvature $k\geq 0$ with respect to the canonical Hermitian connection is automatically Kähler. The same result holds for $k<0$ if we require in addition that the Ricci curvature is J-invariant. The proofs are based on the observation that such manifolds are self-dual, so that Chern-Weil theory implies useful integral formulas, which are then combined with results from Seiberg--Witten theory.
We give an algebraic criterion for the existence of projectively Hermitian-Yang-Mills metrics on a holomorphic vector bundle $E$ over some complete non-compact Kähler manifolds $(X,ω)$, where $X$ is the complement of a divisor in a compact Kähler manifold and we impose some conditions on the cohomology class and the asymptotic behaviour of the Kähler form $ω$. We introduce the notion of stability with respect to a pair of $(1,1)$-classes which generalizes the standard slope stability. We prove that this new stability condition is both sufficient and necessary for the existence of projectively …
In this paper, we study Higgs bundles on non-compact Hermitian manifolds. Under some assumptions for the underlying Hermitian manifolds which are not necessarily Kähler, we solve the Hermitian-Einstein equation on analytically stable Higgs bundles.
We investigate the geometry of Hermitian manifolds endowed with a compact Lie group action by holomorphic isometries with principal orbits of codimension one. In particular, we focus on a special class of these manifolds constructed by following Bérard-Bergery which includes, among the others, the holomorphic line bundles on $\mathbb C\mathbb P^{m-1}$, the linear Hopf manifolds and the Hirzebruch surfaces. We characterize their invariant special Hermitian metrics, such as balanced, Kähler-like, pluriclosed, locally conformally Kähler, Vaisman, Gauduchon. Furthermore, we construct new examples …
In this article we focus on multiplier Hermitian-Einstein metrics introduced by Mabuchi which include Kähler-Einstein metrics, Kähler-Ricci solitons and Mabuchi solitons as special cases. We also focus on KSM-manifolds, which are introduced by the first author as toric bundles, to establish a criterion for the existence of multiplier Hermitian-Einstein metrics in terms of KSM-data. An explicit example for a KSM-manifold admitting a family of multiplier Hermitian-Einstein metrics is constructed by using a continuous path connecting a Kähler-Ricci soliton and a Mabuchi soliton.
In this paper we give new examples of QCH Kahler surfaces whose opposite almost Hermitian strucure is Hermitian and not locally conformally Kahler. In this way we give also a large class of examples of Hermitian surfaces with J-invariant Ricci tensor which are not l.c.k.
We prove an analogue of the Donaldson-Uhlenbeck-Yau theorem for asymptotically cylindrical Kähler manifolds: If $\mathscr{E}$ is a reflexive sheaf over an ACyl Kähler manifold, which is asymptotic to a $μ$-stable holomorphic vector bundle, then it admits an asymptotically translation-invariant protectively Hermitian Yang-Mills metrics (with curvature in $L^2_{\mathrm{loc}}$ across the singular set). Our proof combines the analytic continuity method of Uhlenbeck and Yau [UY86] with the geometric regularization scheme introduced by Bando and Siu [BS94].
In this paper, we study numerically flat holomorphic vector bundles over a compact non-Kähler manifold $(X, ω)$ with the Hermitian metric $ω$ satisfying the Gauduchon and Astheno-Kähler conditions. We prove that numerically flatness is equivalent to numerically effectiveness with vanishing first Chern number, semistablity with vanishing first and second Chern numbers, approximate Hermitian flatness and the existence of a filtration whose quotients are Hermitian flat. This gives an affirmative answer to the question proposed by Demailly, Peternell and Schneider.
We introduce the notions of Chern-Dirac bundles and Chern-Dirac operators on Hermitian manifolds. They are analogues of classical Dirac bundles and Dirac operators, with Levi-Civita connection replaced by Chern connection. We then show that the tensor product of canonical and the anticanonical spinor bundles, called V-spinor bundle, is a bigraded Chern-Dirac bundle with spaces of harmonic spinors isomorphic to the full Dolbeault cohomology class. A similar construction establishes isomorphisms between other types of harmonic spinors and Bott-Chern, Aeppli and twisted cohomology.
In this article, we examine the behavior of the Riemannian and Hermitian curvature tensors of a Hermitian metric, when one of the curvature tensors obeys all the symmetry conditions of the curvature tensor of a Kähler metric. We will call such metrics G-Kähler-like or Kähler-like, for lack of better terminologies. Such metrics are always balanced when the manifold is compact, so in a way they are more special than balanced metrics, which drew a lot of attention in the study of non-Kähler Calabi-Yau manifolds. In particular we derive various formulas on the difference between the Riemannian and…
In this paper we provide an explicit description of normal almost contact structures obtained from Cartan-Ehresmann connections (gauge fields) on principal $S^{1}$-bundles over complex flag manifolds. The main feature of our approach is to employ elements of representation theory of complex simple Lie algebras in order to describe and classify these structures. We use these normal almost contact structures to explicitly describe a huge class of compact Hermitian non-Kähler manifolds obtained from products of principal $S^{1}$-bundles over complex flag manifolds. Moreover, we obtain from our de…
Let $(G,g)$ be a 4-dimensional Riemannian Lie group with a 2-dimensional left-invariant, conformal foliation $\mathcal{F}$ with minimal leaves. Let $J$ be an almost Hermitian structure on $G$ adapted to the foliation $\mathcal{F}$. The corresponding Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ must then belong to one of 20 families $\mathfrak{g}_1,\dots,\mathfrak{g}_{20}$ according to S. Gudmundsson and M. Svensson. We classify such structures $J$ which are almost Kähler $(\mathcal{A}\mathcal{K})$, integrable $(\mathcal{I})$ or Kähler $(\mathcal{K})$. Hereby, we construct 16 multi-dimensional almost Kähler fami…
A differential operator introduced by A. Gray on the unit sphere bundle of a Kähler-Einstein manifold is studied. A lower bound for the first eigenvalue of the Laplacian for the Sasaki metric on the unit sphere bundle of a Kähler-Einstein manifold is derived. Some rigidity theorems classifying complex space forms amongst compact Hermitian surfaces and the product of two projective lines amongst all Kähler-Einstein surfaces are then derived.
From a view point of the moment map, we shall introduce the notion of Einstein-Hermitian generalized connections over a generalized Kähler manifold of symplectic type. We show that moduli spaces of Einstein-Hermitian generalized connections arise as the Kähler quotients. The deformation complex of Einstein-Hermitian generalized connections is an elliptic complex and it turns out that the smooth part of the moduli space is a finite dimensional Kähler manifold. The canonical line bundle over a generalized Kähler manifold of symplectic type has the canonical generalized connection and its curvatu…
We study complex non-Kähler manifolds with Hermitian metrics being locally conformal to metrics with special cohomological properties. In particular, we provide examples where the existence of locally conformal holomorphic-tamed structures implies the existence of locally conformal Kähler metrics, too.
For a holomorphic vector bundle over a compact Kähler orbifold, the slope stability of the bundle is shown to be equivalent to the existence of a Hermitian-Einstein metric or to the properness of a certain functional introduced by Donaldson.
Let $E$ be a Hermitian vector bundle over a complete Kähler manifold $(X,ω)$, $\dim_{\mathbb{C}}X=n$, with a $d$(bounded) Kähler form $ω$, $d_{A}$ be a Hermitian connection on $E$. The goal of this article is to study the $L^{2}$-Hodge theory on the vector bundle $E$. We extend the results of Gromov's \cite{Gro} to the Hermitian vector bundle. At last, as an application, we prove a gap result for Yang-Mills connection on the bundle $E$ over $X$.
Let $X$ be a compact Gauduchon manifold, and let $E$ and $V_0$ be holomorphic vector bundles over $X$. Suppose that $E$ is stable when considering all subsheaves preserved by a Higgs field $θ\in H^0($End$(E)\otimes V_0)$. Then a modified version of the Donaldson heat flow converges along a subsequence of times to a solution of a generalized Hermitian-Einstein equation, given by $iΛF+[θ,θ^\dagger]=λI$.
We investigate the $8$-dimensional Riemannian Lie groups $G^8$, carrying a left-invariant, conformal and minimal foliation $\mathcal{F}$, with leaves diffeomorphic to the subgroup $\textbf{SU}(2) \times \textbf{SU}(2)$ of $G^8$. Such groups have been classified by E. Ghandour, S. Gudmundsson and T. Turner in their recent work. They show that these $8$-dimensional Lie groups form a real $13$-dimensional family. For each left-invariant Hermitian structure $J_\mathcal{V}$ on $\textbf{SU}(2) \times \textbf{SU}(2)$, we extend this to an almost Hermitian structures $J$ on $G$ adapted to the foliatio…
We consider and resolve the gap problem for almost quaternion-Hermitian structures, i.e. we determine the maximal and submaximal symmetry dimensions, both for Lie algebras and Lie groups, in the class of almost quaternion-Hermitian manifolds. We classify all structures with such symmetry dimensions. Geometric properties of the submaximally symmetric spaces are studied, in particular we identify locally conformally quaternion-Kähler structures as well as quaternion-Kähler with torsion.
In this paper we investigate the existence of invariant SKT, balanced and generalized Kähler structures on compact quotients $Γ\backslash G$, where $G$ is an almost nilpotent Lie group whose nilradical has one-dimensional commutator and $Γ$ is a lattice of $G$. We first obtain a characterization of Hermitian almost nilpotent Lie algebras $\mathfrak{g}$ whose nilradical $\mathfrak{n}$ has one-dimensional commutator and a classification result in real dimension six. Then, we study the ones admitting SKT and balanced structures and we examine the behaviour of such structures under flows. In parti…
We define the notions of B_n-generalized pseudo-Hermitian and B_n-generalized pseudo-Kahler structures on an odd exact Courant algebroid E. When E is in the standard form (or of type B_n) we express these notions in terms of classical tensor fields on the base of E. This is analogous to the bi-Hermitian viewpoint on generalized Kahler structures on exact Courant algebroids. We describe left-invariant B_n-generalized pseudo-Kahler structures on Courant algebroids of type B_n over Lie groups of dimension two, three and four.
We investigate degenerate special-Hermitian metrics on compact complex manifolds, in particular, degenerate Kähler and locally conformally Kähler metrics on special classes of non-Kähler manifolds.
Let $(G,g)$ be a 4-dimensional Riemannian Lie group with a 2-dimensional left-invariant, conformal foliation $\F$ with minimal leaves. Let $J$ be an almost Hermitian structure on $G$ adapted to the foliation $\F$. We classify such structures $J$ which are almost Kähler $(\A\K)$, integrable $(\I)$ or Kähler $(\K)$. Hereby we construct several new multi-dimensional examples in each class.
