The auxiliary q-rules of quantum mechanics developed in other papers are applied to the problem of the location of material objects, both macroscopic and microscopic. All objects tend to expand in space due to the uncertainty in their momentum. The q-rules are found to oppose this perpetual expansion with a collapse mechanism that insures the dependable localization of objects in ordinary human experience.
In this paper, a kind of quantum dialogue (QD) protocols without information leakage assisted by quantum operation is proposed. The participant in charge of preparation can automatically know the collapsed states after quantum operation performed on the prepared quantum states. The other participant is able to know the collapsed states derived from the prepared quantum states through quantum measurement. The information leakage problem is avoided by means of imposing auxiliary quantum operation on the prepared quantum states.
Universal quantum entangling gates are a crucial building block in the large-scale quantum computation and quantum communication, and it is an important task to find simple ways to implement them. Here an effective quantum circuit for the implementation of a controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate is constructed by introducing a non-computational quantum state in the auxiliary space. Furthermore, the method is extended to the construction of a general n-control-qubit Toffoli gate with (2n-1) qubit-qudit gates and (2n-2) single-qudit gates. Based on the presented quantum circuits, the polarization CNOT and …
In this paper, we propose a theoretical scheme to detect the emitter-resonator coupling strength in the ultra-strong coupling regime in the quantum Rabi model via introducing an auxiliary resonator. We demonstrate the total system as a two-mode Rabi model and obtain the ground state by the transformed rotating wave approximation, which is shown to be superior to the usually applied rotating wave approximation. Here, the coupling strength is detected by monitoring the average excitation number in the auxiliary resonator and the sensitivity of the detection scheme is discussed analytically.

Reducing multi-qubit interactions in adiabatic quantum computation without adding auxiliary qubits. Part 2: The "split-reduc" method and its application to quantum determination of Ramsey numbers

Non-local higher-energy auxiliary states have been successfully used to entangle pairs of qubits in different quantum computing systems. Typically a longer-span non-local state or sequential application of few-qubit entangling gates are needed to produce a non-trivial multiqubit gate. In many cases a single non-local state that span over the entire system is difficult to use due to spectral crowding or impossible to have. At the same time, many multiqubit systems can naturally develop a network of multiple non-local higher-energy states that span over few qubits each. We show that continuous t…
We propose how to achieve significantly enhanced quantum refrigeration and entanglement by coupling a pumped auxiliary cavity to an optomechanical cavity. We obtain both analytical and numerical results, and find optimal-refrigeration and -entanglement conditions under the auxiliary-cavity-assisted (ACA) mechanism. Our method leads to a giant amplification in the net refrigeration rate, and reveals that the ACA entanglement has a much stronger noise-tolerant ability in comparison with the unassisted case. By appropriately designing the ACA mechanism, an effective mechanical susceptibility can …

This paper has two messages. First, we demonstrate that neural networks that process noisy data can learn to exploit, when available, access to auxiliary noise that is correlated with the noise on the data. In effect, the network learns to use the correlated auxiliary noise as an approximate key to decipher its noisy input data. Second, we show that, for this task, the scaling behavior with increasing noise is such that future quantum machines could possess an advantage. In particular, decoherence generates correlated auxiliary noise in the environment. The new approach could, therefore, help …
In realistic metrology, entangled probes are more sensitive to noise, especially for a correlated environment. The precision of parameter estimation with entangled probes is even lower than that of the unentangled ones in a correlated environment. In this paper, we propose a measurement scheme with only one auxiliary qubit, which can selectively offset the impact of environmental noise under this situation. We analyse the estimation precision of our scheme and find out that it approaches the Heisenberg limit when prepared in a proper auxiliary state. We further discuss employing auxiliary stat…
The auxiliary function of a classical channel appears in two fundamental quantities that upper and lower bound the error probability, respectively. A crucial property of the auxiliary function is its concavity, which leads to several important results in finite block length analysis. In this paper, we prove that the auxiliary function of a classical-quantum channel also enjoys the same concave property, extending an earlier partial result to its full generality. The key component in our proof is a beautiful result of geometric means of operators.
The current applications of non-Hermitian but ${\cal PT}-$symmetric Hamiltonians $H$ cover several, mutually not too closely connected subdomains of quantum physics. Mathematically, the split between the open and closed systems can be characterized by the respective triviality and non-triviality of an auxiliary inner-product metric $Θ=Θ(H)$. With our attention restricted to the latter, mathematically more interesting unitary-evolution case we show that the intuitive but technically decisive simplification of the theory achieved via an "additional" ${\cal PCT}-$symmetry constraint upon $H$ can …
Quantum state tomography is an important tool for quantum communication, computation, metrology, and simulation. Efficient quantum state tomography on a high dimensional quantum system is still a challenging problem. Here, we propose a novel quantum state tomography method, auxiliary Hilbert space tomography, to avoid pre-rotations before measurement in a quantum state tomography experiment. Our method requires projective measurements in a higher dimensional space that contains the subspace that includes the prepared states. We experimentally demonstrate this method with orbital angular moment…

In order to exploit quantum advantages, quantum algorithms are indispensable for operating machine learning with quantum computers. We here propose an intriguing hybrid approach of quantum information processing for quantum linear regression, which utilizes both discrete and continuous quantum variables, in contrast to existing wisdoms based solely upon discrete qubits. In our framework, data information is encoded in a qubit system, while information processing is tackled using auxiliary continuous qumodes via qubit-qumode interactions. Moreover, it is also elaborated that finite squeezing is…

Due to its property of not requiring prior knowledge of the environment, reinforcement learning has significant potential for quantum control problems. In this work, we investigate the effectiveness of continuous control policies based on deep deterministic policy gradient. To solve the sparse reward signal in quantum learning control problems, we propose an auxiliary task-based deep reinforcement learning (AT-DRL) for quantum control. In particular, we first design a guided reward function based on the fidelity of quantum states that enables incremental fidelity improvement. Then, we introduc…
Quantum computers are invaluable tools to explore the properties of complex quantum systems. We show that dynamical localization of the quantum sawtooth map, a highly sensitive quantum coherent phenomenon, can be simulated on actual, small-scale quantum processors. Our results demonstrate that quantum computing of dynamical localization may become a convenient tool for evaluating advances in quantum hardware performances.
Continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CV-QKD) is realized with coherent detection and is therefore very suitable for a cost-efficient implementation. The major challenge in CV-QKD is mitigation of laser phase noise at a signal to noise ratio of much less than 0 dB. So far, this has been achieved with a remote local oscillator or with auxiliary signals. For the first time, we experimentally demonstrate that CV-QKD can be performed with a real local oscillator and without auxiliary signals which is achieved by applying Machine Learning methods. It is shown that, with the most established…
The spatial localization of quantum states plays a central role in condensed-matter phenomena, ranging from many-body localization to topological matter. Building on the dissipation-fluctuation theorem, we propose that the localization properties of a quantum-engineered system can be probed by spectroscopy, namely, by measuring its excitation rate upon a periodic drive. We apply this method to various examples that are of direct experimental relevance in ultracold atomic gases, including Anderson localization, topological edge modes, and interacting particles in a harmonic trap. Moreover, insp…
