We prove that the fidelity of two exemplary communication complexity protocols, allowing for an N-1 bit communication, can be exponentially improved by N-1 (unentangled) qubit communication. Taking into account, for a fair comparison, all inefficiencies of state-of-the-art set-up, the experimental implementation outperforms the best classical protocol, making it the candidate for multi-party quantum communication applications.

We prove a general lower bound on the bounded-error entanglement-assisted quantum communication complexity of Boolean functions. The bound is based on the concept that any classical or quantum protocol to evaluate a function on distributed inputs can be turned into a quantum communication protocol. As an application of this bound, we give a very simple proof of the statement that almost all Boolean functions on n+n bits have linear communication complexity, even in the presence of unlimited entanglement.
I show that a simple multi-party communication task can be performed more efficiently with quantum communication than with classical communication, even with low detection efficiency $η$. The task is a communication complexity problem in which distant parties need to compute a function of the distributed inputs, while minimizing the amount of communication between them. A realistic quantum optical setup is suggested that can demonstrate a five-party quantum protocol with higher-than-classical performance, provided $η>0.33$ .
We study the relation between the quantum games, communication complexity problems and Bell inequalities. In particular we are interested in answering the question whether for every element of one of these groups there is a corresponding element in the other two. We show that there are cases where there is no such relation. We obtain a general connection between a quantum advantage in communication complexity and non-locality. We show that given any protocol offering a (sufficiently large) quantum advantage in communication complexity, there exists a way of obtaining measurement statistics which violate some Bell inequality. Our main tool is port-based teleportation. If the gap between quantum and classical communication complexity can grow arbitrarily large, the ratio of the quantum value to the classical value of the Bell quantity becomes unbounded with the increase in the number of inputs and outputs.
We propose a protocol for Alice to implement a multiqubit quantum operation from the restricted sets on distant qubits possessed by Bob, and then we investigate the communication complexity of the task in different communication scenarios. By comparing with the previous work, our protocol works without prior sharing of entanglement, and requires less communication resources than the previous protocol in the qubit-transmission scenario. We propose a class of nonlocal boxes named functional boxes which include a generalization of the Popescu-Rohrlich(PR) box as a special case. We show that every functional box corresponding to an additively inseparable function can make communication complexity trivial and thus seems unlikely to exist in nature. Then we relate general nonlocal boxes to these functional boxes, and derive several limits on them from the principle of information causality.
Recently, Brassard et. al. conjectured that the fact that the maximal possible correlations between two non-local parties are the quantum-mechanical ones is linked to a reasonable restriction on communication complexity. We provide further support for the conjecture in the multipartite case. We formulate a two-party communication complexity problem and present its quantum solution that exploits the entanglement between two qutrits. We prove that for every Bell's inequality and for a broad class of protocols, there always exists a multi-party communication complexity problem, for which the protocol assisted by states which violate the inequality is more efficient than any classical protocol. Moreover, for that advantage Bell's inequality violation is a necessary and sufficient criterion. We obtain a four-photon polarization-entangled state with a visibility as high as (95.35\pm 0.45)% directly from a single down-conversion source. A success probability of (81.54\pm 1.38)% is observed by applying this entangled state to realize a four-party quantum communication complexity scenario (QCCS), which comfortably surpass the classical limit of 50%. We give a tight lower bound of Omega(\sqrt{n}) for the randomized one-way communication complexity of the Boolean Hidden Matching Problem [BJK04]. Since there is a quantum one-way communication complexity protocol of O(\log n) qubits for this problem, we obtain an exponential separation of quantum and classical one-way communication complexity for partial functions. A similar result was independently obtained by Gavinsky, Kempe, de Wolf [GKdW06]. Our lower bound is obtained by Fourier analysis, using the Fourier coefficients inequality of Kahn Kalai and Linial [KKL88].

We show lower bounds of $Ω(\sqrt{n})$ and $Ω(n^{1/4})$ on the randomized and quantum communication complexity, respectively, of all $n$-variable read-once Boolean formulas. Our results complement the recent lower bound of $Ω(n/8^d)$ by Leonardos and Saks and $Ω(n/2^{Ω(d\log d)})$ by Jayram, Kopparty and Raghavendra for randomized communication complexity of read-once Boolean formulas with depth $d$. We obtain our result by "embedding" either the Disjointness problem or its complement in any given read-once Boolean formula.
