The detection of genuine multipartite entanglement has been long time a challenging problem in the theory of quantum entanglement. We propose a criterion for detecting genuine tripartite entanglement of arbitrary dimensional tripartite states based on quantum Fisher information. In this work we analyse and compare the continuous variable tripartite entanglement available from the use of two concurrent or cascaded $χ^{(2)}$ nonlinearities. We examine both idealised travelling-wave models and more experimentally realistic intracavity models, showing that tripartite entangled outputs are readily producible. We study the genuine multipartite entanglement in tripartite quantum systems. By using the Schmidt decomposition and local unitary transformation, we convert the general states to simpler forms and consider certain matrices from correlation tensors in the Bloch representation of the simplified density matrices. Using these special matrices, we obtain new criteria for genuine multipartite entanglement. Detail examples show that our criteria are able to detect more tripartite entangled and genuine tripartite entangled states than some existing criteria.

In a recent paper [M. Huber {\it et al}, Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 104}, 210501 (2010)] new criteria to find out the presence of multipartite entanglement have been given. We exploit these tools in order to study thermal entanglement in a spin-star network made of three peripheral spins interacting with a central one. Genuine tripartite entanglement is found in a wide range of the relevant parameters. A comparison between predictions based on the new criteria and on the tripartite negativity is also given.

We establish relations between tripartite pure state entanglement and additivity properties of the bipartite relative entropy of entanglement. Our results pertain to the asymptotic limit of local manipulations on a large number of copies of the state. We show that additivity of the relative entropy would imply that there are at least two inequivalent types of asymptotic tripartite entanglement. We show that for tripartite quantum pure states of qubits, all the kinds of entanglement in terms of SLOCC classification are experimentally measurable by simple projective measurements, provided that four copies of the composite quantum system are available. We investigate the relation between the norms of the correlation vectors and the detection of GME for tripartite quantum systems.
