In this paper, we present a general formula for obtaining the reduced density opeator for any biparticle pure entangled state. Using this formula, we derive, in a compact form, the explicit formula of the entanglement for any bipartical pure entangled Gaussian state. In the case of Gaussian states, the criteria of separabelity can be naturely obtained by the formula. For non-Gaussian states, we also show the usefulness of the method presented in this paper.
This article proposes an efficient way of calculating the geometric measure of entanglement using tensor decomposition methods. The connection between these two concepts is explored using the tensor representation of the wavefunction. Numerical examples are benchmarked and compared. Furthermore, we search for highly entangled qubit states to show the applicability of this method.
We propose a new classification for the entanglement in graph states based on generalized con- currence. The numerical results indicate that the eight different three-qubit graph states in three categories, 64 four-qubit graph states in five categories and 1024 five-qubit graph states are in ten classes. We also compare this classification with equivalence classes of these graph states under local complementation (LC) operator, and the obtained result suggests that classification by generalized concurrence is not in contradiction with the LC-rule.
The path integral is not typically utilized for analyzing entanglement experiments, in part because there is no standard toolbox for converting an arbitrary experiment into a form allowing a simple sum-over-history calculation. After completing the last portion of this toolbox (a technique for implementing multi-particle measurements in an entangled basis), some interesting 4- and 6-particle experiments are analyzed with this alternate technique. While the joint probabilities of measurement outcomes are always equivalent to conventional quantum mechanics, differences in the calculations motiva…
Entanglement properties of $^4$He and $^6$He are investigated using nuclear many-body calculations, specifically the single-nucleon entanglement entropy, and the two-nucleon mutual information and negativity. Nuclear wavefunctions are obtained by performing active-space no-core configuration-interaction calculations using a two-body nucleon-nucleon interaction derived from chiral effective field theory. Entanglement measures within single-particle bases, the harmonic oscillator (HO), Hartree-Fock (HF), natural (NAT) and variational natural (VNAT) bases, are found to exhibit different degrees o…
We investigate bipartite and tripartite entanglement in an open quantum system, specifically three qubits, all of which are damped, and one of which is driven. We adapt a systematic approach in calculating the entanglement of various bipartite splits usinga generalized concurrence as an indicator of entanglement. Our calculations are based on a direct detection scheme that is a particular unravelling of the density matrix. This system has a collective dipole-dipole energy shift that couples the atoms and the dissipation is via partially collective spontaneous emission described by the Lehmberg…
We propose a simple approach to the calculation of the entanglement entropy of a spherically symmetric quantum system composed of two separate regions. We consider bound states of the system described by a wave function that is scale invariant and vanishes exponentially at infinity. Our result is in accordance with the holographic bound on entropy and shows that entanglement entropy scales with the area of the boundary.
We analyze how pre-existing entanglement between two Unruh-DeWitt particle detectors evolves when one of the detectors falls through a Rindler firewall in (1+1)-dimensional Minkowski space. The firewall effect is minor and does not wash out the detector-detector entanglement, in some regimes even preserving the entanglement better than Minkowski vacuum. The absence of cataclysmic events should continue to hold for young black hole firewalls. A firewall's prospective ability to resolve the information paradox must hence hinge on its detailed gravitational structure, presently poorly understood.
Entanglement Entropy of Coupled Conformal Field Theories and Fermi Liquids
We exploit and clarify the use of random matrix theory for the calculation of the entanglement entropy of free Fermi gases. We apply this method to obtain analytic predictions for Renyi entanglement entropies of a one-dimensional gas trapped by a harmonic potential in all the relevant scaling regimes. We confirm our findings with accurate numerical calculations obtained by means of an ingenious discretisation of the reduced correlation matrix.
We give for the first time a diagrammatic calculational tool of quantum entanglement. We present a pedagogical and simple mechanical implementation of quantum entanglement or "spooky action at a distance" to give a tangible realization of this weird quantum mechanical concept alien to classical physics. When two or more particles are correlated in a certain way, no matter how far apart they are in space, their states remain correlated. Their correlation, which is instantaneous, does not seem to involve any communication which is limited by the speed of light. The same mechanical implementation…
In this paper we discuss behaviors of entanglement entropy between two interacting CFTs and its holographic interpretation using the AdS/CFT correspondence. We explicitly perform analytical calculations of entanglement entropy between two free scalar field theories which are interacting with each other in both static and time-dependent ways. We also conjecture a holographic calculation of entanglement entropy between two interacting $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theories by introducing a minimal surface in the S$^5$ direction, instead of the AdS$_5$ direction. This offers a possible general…

Understanding quantum entanglement in interacting higher-dimensional conformal field theories is a challenging task, as direct analytical calculations are often impossible to perform. With holographic entanglement entropy, calculations of entanglement entropy turn into a problem of finding extremal surfaces in a curved spacetime, which we tackle with a numerical finite-element approach. In this paper, we compute the entanglement entropy between two half-spaces resulting from a local quench, triggered by a local operator insertion in a CFT$_3$. We find that the growth of entanglement entropy at…
We establish a solvable Heisenberg-Ising model on a spin-1 Ni-containing polymer chain, $[Ni (NN'-dmen) (μ-N_3)_2]$, with $NN'-dmen$ being $NN'-dimethylethylenediamine$, that fully covers the interaction characteristics of the material and by which, we can characterize all the peculiar magnetic features of the polymer, which has been partly studied in experiment. By purely analytical calculations, we can see that the magnetization exhibits three plateaus at zero, mid, and 3/4 of the saturation value at low temperatures below 2 K. The corresponding featuring peaks of magnetic susceptibility are…
We put forward a simpler and improved variation of a recently proposed method to overcome the signal-to-noise problem found in Monte Carlo calculations of the entanglement entropy of interacting fermions. The present method takes advantage of the approximate lognormal distributions that characterize the signal-to-noise properties of other approaches. In addition, we show that a simple rewriting of the formalism allows circumvention of the inversion of the restricted one-body density matrix in the calculation of the $n$-th Rényi entanglement entropy for $n>2$. We test our technique by implement…
