This paper assesses the Everettian approach to the measurement problem, especially the version of that approach advocated by Simon Saunders and David Wallace. I emphasise conceptual, indeed metaphysical, aspects rather than technical ones; but I include an introductory exposition of decoherence. In particular, I discuss whether -- as these authors maintain -- it is acceptable to have no precise definition of 'branch' (in the Everettian kind of sense).
"All-Possible-Worlds" is a novel interpretation of quantum physics, which results from a unified reformulation of Many-Worlds and Copenhagen ("collapse") in the light of quantum contextuality, and proposes "nonlocality at detection" as a principle ruling the whole quantum realm, including single qubit and qutrit experiments.
Many-Worlds quantum mechanics differs from standard quantum mechanics in that in Many-Worlds, the wave function is a relative density of universes in the multiverse amplitude rather than a probability amplitude. This means that in Many-Worlds, the Born frequencies are approached rather than given a priori. Thus in Many-Worlds the rate of approach to the final frequencies can be calculated and compared with observation. I use Many-Worlds to derive the rate of approach in the double slit experiment, and show that it agrees with observation. Standard quantum theory has never been used to derive a…
The many-worlds interpretation (MWI) of quantum mechanics is studied from an unprecedented ontological perspective based on the reality of (semi-) deterministic parallel worlds in the interpretation. It is demonstrated that with thanks to the uncertainty principle there would be no consistent way to specify the correct ontology of the Universe, hence the MWI is subject to an inherent contradiction which claims that the world where we live in is unreal.

The pointer states and preferred basis of the classical world are that of definite positions and momenta. Here it is shown that the reason for the absence of superposition states is the limited resolution with which observations or measurements are made.
Quantum t-designs: t-wise independence in the quantum world
A simple model of small world quantum networks, in which a central node plays essential role, is introduced for sharing entanglement over long distances. In view of the challenges in setting up advanced quantum labs which allows only few nodes in a network to play a central role, this kind of small world network may be more relevant for entanglement distribution. It is shown that by only adding a small number of short-cuts, it is possible to produce maximally entangled pairs between arbitrary nodes in the network. Besides this, the threshold values for the initial amount of entanglement and th…
The many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics (MWI) states that the world we live in is just one among many parallel worlds. It is widely believed that because of this commitment to parallel worlds, the MWI violates common sense. Some go so far as to reject the MWI on this basis. This is despite its myriad of advantages to physics (e.g. consistency with relativity theory, mathematical simplicity, realism, determinism, etc.). Here, we make the case that common sense in fact favors the MWI. We argue that causal explanations are commonsensical only when they are local causal explanations. W…
By repeated trials, one can determine the fairness of a classical coin with a confidence which grows with the number of trials. A quantum coin can be in a superposition of heads and tails and its state is most generally a density matrix. Given a string of qubits representing a series of trials, one can measure them individually and determine the state with a certain confidence. We show that there is an improved strategy which measures the qubits after entangling them, which leads to a greater confidence. This strategy is demonstrated on the simulation facility of IBM quantum computers.
Discussions about whether quantum theory is determinism or indeterminism has lasted for a century. A new approach to standard quantum mechanics called many-interacting-worlds method based on many-worlds interpretation and de Broglie-Bohm mechanics provided the possibility to demonstrate probability from deterministic universe. The many-interacting-worlds method has been proved successful in the ground state of harmonic oscillator. In this article we extend this method to one dimensional Coulomb potential and construct a corresponding empirical density function. We also provide a theoretical pro…
Quantum computers are a promising candidate to radically expand computational science through increased computing power and more effective algorithms. In particular quantum computing could have a tremendous impact in the field of quantum cosmology. The goal of quantum cosmology is to describe the evolution of the Universe through the Wheeler-DeWitt equation or path integral methods without having to first formulate a full theory of quantum gravity. The quantum computer provides an advantage in this endeavor because it can perform path integrals in Lorentzian space and does not require construc…
