We prove that the Hall algebra U^-_n of the cyclic quiver of type A^(1)_{n-1} decomposes as a direct product of the quantum negative nilpotent subalgebra U_q^-(\hat{sl}_{n)) and C[q,q^{-1},z_1,z_2...]. We use this to prove a conjecture of Varagnolo and Vasserot in math/9803023 relating the canonical basis of U^-_n and the canonical basis of the level 1 Fock space representation of U_q(\hat{sl}_n) introduced by Leclerc and Thibon. This yields a proof of the positivity conjecture of Lascoux, Leclerc and Thibon, and a q-analogue of the Lusztig character formula for simple modules of the quantum group U_q(sl_n) at a root of unity.
We have two constructions of the level-$(0,1)$ irreducible representation of the quantum toroidal algebra of type $A$. One is due to Nakajima and Varagnolo-Vasserot. They constructed the representation on the direct sum of the equivariant K-groups of the quiver varieties of type $\hat{A}$. The other is due to Saito-Takemura-Uglov and Varagnolo-Vasserot. They constructed the representation on the q-deformed Fock space introduced by Kashiwara-Miwa-Stern. In this paper we give an explicit isomorphism between these two constructions. For this purpose we construct simultaneous eigenvectors on the q…
We calculate the additive and multiplicative structure (together with the grading) of the Hochschild homology and cohomology and the cyclic homology of preprojective algebras of types T. We also compute the calculus structure which is formed by the Hochschild homology/cohomology pair.
Based on the work of Ringel and Green, one can define the (Drinfeld) double Ringel--Hall algebra ${\mathscr D}(Q)$ of a quiver $Q$ as well as its highest weight modules. The main purpose of the present paper is to show that the basic representation $L(Λ_0)$ of ${\mathscr D}(Δ_n)$ of the cyclic quiver $Δ_n$ provides a realization of the $q$-deformed Fock space $\bigwedge^\infty$ defined by Hayashi. This is worked out by extending a construction of Varagnolo and Vasserot. By analysing the structure of nilpotent representations of $Δ_n$, we obtain a decomposition of the basic representation $L(Λ_…
We calculate the additive structure (together with the grading) of the Hochschild homology and cohomology and the cyclic homology of preprojective algebras of types ADE.
In this paper, we give a recursive formula for the interesting PBW basis $E_{A}$ of composition subalgebras of Ringel-Hall algebras $\fkH_\vartri(n)$ of cyclic quivers after \cite{DengDuXiao2007generic}, and another construction of canonical bases of $\U_v^+(\wih{\fks\fkl}_n)$ from the monomial bases $m^{(A)}$ follow \cite{DuZhaomultiplication}. As an application, we will determined all the canonical basis of $\U_v^+(\wih{\fks\fkl}_2)$ associated with modules of Lowery length $\leqs3$. Finally, we will discuss the relation of canonical bases of Ringel-Hall algebras and those of affine quantum …
Let A be the central extension of the preprojective algebra of an ADE quiver introduced by P. Etingof and E. Rains in math/0503393. The paper math/0606403 computes the structure of the zeroth Hochschild (co)homology of A. We generalize the results of math/0606403 by calculating the additive structure of all the Hochschild homology and cohomology groups of A and the cyclic homology of A, and to describe the universal deformation of A. Namely, we show that the (co)homology is periodic with period 4, and compute the first four (co)homology groups in each case.
We construct the quantized enveloping algebra of any simple Lie algebra of type ADE as the quotient of a Grothendieck ring arising from certain cyclic quiver varieties. In particular, the dual canonical basis of a one-half quantum group with respect to Lusztig's bilinear form is contained in the natural basis of the Grothendieck ring up to rescaling. This paper expands the categorification established by Hernandez and Leclerc to the whole quantum groups. It can be viewed as a geometric counterpart of Bridgeland's recent work for type ADE.
We introduce a generalisation of the KP hierarchy, closely related to the cyclic quiver and the Cherednik algebra $H_k(\mathbb Z_m)$. This hierarchy depends on $m$ parameters (one of which can be eliminated), with the usual KP hierarchy corresponding to the $m=1$ case. Generalising the result of G. Wilson, we show that our hierarchy admits solutions parameterised by suitable quiver varieties. The pole dynamics for these solutions is shown to be governed by the classical Calogero-Moser system for the wreath-product $\mathbb Z_m\wr S_n$ and its new spin version. These results are further extende…
Associated with each finite subgroup $Γ$ of $\rm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$ there is a family of noncommutative algebras $O_τ(Γ)$ quantizing $\mathbb{C}^2/\!\!/Γ$. Let $G_Γ$ be the group of $Γ$-equivariant automorphisms of $O_τ$. One of the authors earlier defined and studied a natural action of $G_Γ$ on certain quiver varieties associated with $Γ$. He established a $G_Γ$-equivariant bijective correspondence between quiver varieties and the space of isomorphism classes of $O_τ$-ideals. The main theorem in this paper states that when $Γ$ is a cyclic group, the action of $G_Γ$ on each quiver variety is …
The purpose of this thesis is to present certain viewpoints on the geometric representation theory of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, in relation to the Maulik-Okounkov stable basis. Our main technical tool is the shuffle algebra, which arises as the K-theoretic Hall algebra of the double cyclic quiver. We prove the isomorphism between the shuffle algebra and the quantum toroidal algebra U_{q,t}(sl_n^^), and identify the quotients of Verma modules for the shuffle algebra with the K-theory groups of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, which were studied by Nakajima and Varagnolo-Vasserot. The s…
A cyclic cohomology theory adapted to Hopf algebras has been introduced recently by Connes and Moscovici. In this paper, we consider this object in the homological framework, in the spirit of Loday-Quillen and Karoubi's work on the cyclic homology of associative algebras. In the case of group algebras, we interpret the decomposition of the classical cyclic homology of a group algebra in terms of this homology. We also compute both cyclic homologies for truncated quiver algebras.
We study the Hall and composition algebras of an affine quiver. In the case of a cyclic quiver, we provide generators for the central polynomial algebra described by Schiffmann and prove that this is in fact the whole of the centre of the Hall algebra. For an affine quiver without oriented cycles, we obtain a structure theorem for the composition algebra refining the structure provided by Zhang.
We give a proof of the cyclicity conjecture of Akasaka-Kashiwara, for simply laced types, via quiver varieties. We get also an algebraic characterization of the standard modules.
The localized equivariant homology of the quiver variety of type $A_{N-1}^{(1)}$ can be identified with the level one Fock space by assigning a normalized torus fixed point basis to certain symmetric functions, Jack($\mathfrak{gl}_N$) symmetric functions introduced by Uglov. We show that this correspondence is compatible with actions of two algebras, the Yangian for $\mathfrak{sl}_N$ and the affine Lie algebra $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_N$, on both sides. Consequently we obtain affine Yangian action on the Fock space.
For any triple $(i,a,μ)$ consisting of a vertex $i$ in a quiver $Q$, a positive integer $a$, and a dominant $GL_a$-weight $μ$, we define a quiver current $H^{(i,a)}_μ$ acting on the tensor power $Λ^Q$ of symmetric functions over the vertices of $Q$. These provide a quiver generalization of parabolic Garsia-Jing creation operators in the theory of Hall-Littlewood symmetric functions. For a triple $(\mathbf{i},\mathbf{a},μ(\bullet))$ of sequences of such data, we define the quiver Hall-Littlewood function $H^{\mathbf{i},\mathbf{a}}_{μ(\bullet)}$ as the result of acting on $1\inΛ^Q$ by the corres…
The theory of representations of quivers and of their preprojective algebras are reviewed. In particular, moduli spaces of representations of these algebras, quiver varieties and reflection functor are described. The proof that the bijection between moduli spaces induced by the reflection functor is an isomorphism of symplectic affine varieties is presented. Hamiltonian systems with complete flows on the quiver varieties are introduced. An application of the reflection functor to these systems is described. The results on the case of the cyclic quiver are reviewed and a role of the reflection …
We establish a hierarchy of quantum dilogarithm identities associated to a sequence of triangular shaped quivers. The tetrahedron equation plays a key role in our construction.
We study some classical integrable systems naturally associated with multiplicative quiver varieties for the (extended) cyclic quiver with $m$ vertices. The phase space of our integrable systems is obtained by quasi-Hamiltonian reduction from the space of representations of the quiver. Three families of Poisson-commuting functions are constructed and written explicitly in suitable Darboux coordinates. The case $m=1$ corresponds to the tadpole quiver and the Ruijsenaars-Schneider system and its variants, while for $m>1$ we obtain new integrable systems that generalise the Ruijsenaars-Schneider …
We define and study the category $\RepQ$ of representations of a quiver in $\VFun$ - the category of vector spaces "over $\Fun$". $\RepQ$ is an $\Fun$-linear category possessing kernels, co-kernels, and direct sums. Moreover, $\RepQ$ satisfies analogues of the Jordan-Hölder and Krull-Schmidt theorems. We are thus able to define the Hall algebra $\HQ$ of $\RepQ$, which behaves in some ways like the specialization at $q=1$ of the Hall algebra of $\on{Rep}(\Q, \mathbf{F}_q)$. We prove the existence of a Hopf algebra homomorphism of $ ρ': \U(\n_+) \rightarrow \HQ$, from the enveloping algebra of t…
Let us consider a specialization of an untwisted quantum affine algebra of type $ADE$ at a nonzero complex number, which may or may not be a root of unity. The Grothendieck ring of its finite dimensional representations has two bases, simple modules and standard modules. We identify entries of the transition matrix with special values of ``computable'' polynomials, similar to Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. At the same time we ``compute'' $q$-characters for all simple modules. The result is based on ``computations'' of Betti numbers of graded/cyclic quiver varieties. (The reason why we put `` '' …
Associated to each finite group $Γ$ in $SL_2(C)$ there is a family of noncommutative algebras which deforms the coordinate ring of the Kleinian singularity corresponding to that group. These algebras were defined by W. Crawley-Boevey and M. Holland, who also suggested a conjectural correspondence between the set of isomorphism classes of rank one projective modules over these algebras and associated Nakajima quiver varieties. In \cite{BGK}, V.Baranovski, V.Ginzburg and A.Kuznetsov proved the Crawley-Boevey-Holland conjecture using the methods of noncommutative projective geometry. In this pape…
Quiver varieties have recently appeared in various different areas of Mathematics such as representation theory of Kac-Moody algebras and quantum groups, instantons on 4-manifolds, and resolutions Kleinian singularities. In this paper, we show that many important affine quiver varieties, e.g., the Calogero-Moser space, can be imbedded as coadjoint orbits in the dual of an appropriate infinite dimensional Lie algebra. In particular, there is an infinitesimally transitive action of the Lie algebra in question on the quiver variety. Our construction is based on an extension of Kontsevich's formal…
For an algebraically closed field $K$, we investigate a class of noncommutative $K$-algebras called connected quantized Weyl algebras. Such an algebra has a PBW basis for a set of generators $\{x_1,\dots,x_n\}$ such that each pair satisfies a relation of the form $x_ix_j=q_{ij}x_jx_i+r_{ij}$, where $q_{ij}\in K^*$ and $r_{ij}\in K$, with, in some sense, sufficiently many pairs for which $r_{ij}\neq 0$. We classify connected quantized Weyl algebras, showing that there are two types, linear and cyclic, each depending on a single parameter $q$. When $q$ is not a root of unity we determine the pri…
Using a quiver algebra of a cyclic quiver, we construct a faithful categorical action of the extended braid group of affine type A on its bounded homotopy category of finitely generated projective modules. The algebra is trigraded and we identify the trigraded dimensions of the space of morphisms of this category with intersection numbers coming from the topological origin of the group.
These are expanded notes from three survey lectures given at the 14th International Conference on Representations of Algebras (ICRA XIV) held in Tokyo in August 2010. We first study identities between products of quantum dilogarithm series associated with Dynkin quivers following Reineke. We then examine similar identities for quivers with potential and link them to Fomin-Zelevinsky's theory of cluster algebras. Here we mainly follow ideas due to Bridgeland, Fock-Goncharov, Kontsevich-Soibelman and Nagao.
We will give a representation-theoretic proof for the multiplication formula in the Ringel-Hall algebra ${\frak H}_Δ(n)$ of a cyclic quiver $Δ(n)$ given in \cite[Thm~4.5]{DuFu2015quantum}. As a first application, we see immediately the existence of Hall polynomials for cyclic quivers, a fact established in \cite{Guo1995hallpoly} and \cite{Ringel1993composition}, and derive a recursive formula to compute them. We will further use the formula and the construction of certain monomial base for ${\mathfrak H}_Δ(n)$ given in \cite{DengDuXiao2007generic}, together with the double Ringel--Hall algebra…
We study the root of unity degeneration of cluster algebras and quantum dilogarithm identities. We prove identities for the cyclic dilogarithm associated with a mutation sequence of a quiver, and as a consequence new identities for the non-compact quantum dilogarithm at $b=1$.
Let $A$ be the path algebra of a Dynkin quiver over a finite field, and let $C_1(\mathscr{P})$ be the category of 1-cyclic complexes of projective $A$-modules. In the present paper, we give a PBW-basis and a minimal set of generators for the Hall algebra $\H(C_1(\mathscr{P}))$ of $C_1(\mathscr{P})$. Using this PBW-basis, we firstly prove the degenerate Hall algebra of $C_1(\mathscr{P})$ is the universal enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra spanned by all indecomposable objects. Secondly, we calculate the relations in the generators in $\H(C_1(\mathscr{P}))$, and obtain quantum Serre relations…
This is the sequel to my preprint "TCFTs and Calabi-Yau categories", math.QA/0412149. Here we extend the results of that paper to construct, for certain Calabi-Yau A-infinity categories, something playing the role of the Gromov-Witten potential. This is a state in the Fock space associated to periodic cyclic homology, which is a symplectic vector space. Applying this to a suitable A-infinity version of the derived category of sheaves on a Calabi-Yau yields the B model potential, at all genera. The construction doesn't go via the Deligne-Mumford spaces, but instead uses the Batalin-Vilkovisky a…
We provide closed formulas for a large subset of the canonical basis vectors of the Fock space representation of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_e)$. These formulas arise from parallelotopes which assemble to form polytopal complexes. The subgraphs of the $\mathrm{Ext}^1$-quivers of $v$-Schur algebras at complex $e$-th roots of unity generated by simple modules corresponding to these canonical basis vectors are given by the $1$-skeletons of the polytopal complexes.
We describe a natural $q$-deformation of Fock and Goncharov's canonical basis for the algebra of regular functions on a cluster variety associated to a quiver of type $A$. We then describe an extension of this construction involving a cluster variety called the symplectic double.
Some BPS quantities of $\mathcal{N}=1$ 5D quiver gauge theories, like instanton partition functions or qq-characters, can be constructed as algebraic objects of the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra. This construction is applied here to $\mathcal{N}=2$ super Yang-Mills theories in four dimensions using a degenerate version of the DIM algebra. We build up the equivalent of horizontal and vertical representations, the first one being defined using vertex operators acting on a free boson's Fock space, while the second one is essentially equivalent to the action of Vasserot-Shiffmann's Spherical Heck…
In this paper, we prove that the quantum toroidal algebra of gl_n is isomorphic to the double shuffle algebra of Feigin and Odesskii for the cyclic quiver. The shuffle algebra viewpoint will allow us to prove a factorization formula for the universal R-matrix of the quantum toroidal algebra.
