Motivated by mirror symmetry, we consider a Lagrangian fibration $X\to B$ and Lagrangian maps $f:L\hookrightarrow X\to B$, when $L$ has dimension 2, exhibiting an unstable singularity, and study how their caustic changes, in a neighbourhood of the unstable singularity, when slightly perturbed. The integral curves of $\nabla f_x$, for $x\in B$, where $f_x(y)=f(y)-x\cdot y$, called ``gradient lines'', are then introduced, and a study of them, in order to analyse their bifurcation locus, is carried out.

Singularities of even smooth functions are studied. A classification of singular points which appear in typical parametric families of even functions with at most five parameters is given. Bifurcations of singular points near a caustic value of the parameter are also studied. A determinant for singularity types and conditions for versal deformations are given in terms of partial derivatives (not requiring a preliminary reduction to a canonical form).

We consider the 3-body problem of celestial mechanics in Euclidean, elliptic, and hyperbolic spaces, and study how the Lagrangian (equilateral) relative equilibria bifurcate when the Gaussian curvature varies. We thus prove the existence of new classes of orbits. In particular, we find some families of isosceles triangles, which occur in elliptic space.
In this paper we introduce universal asymptotic unfolding normal forms for nonlinear singular systems. Next, we propose an approach to find the parameters of a parametric singular system that they play the role of universal unfolding parameters. In this paper, we explore the dynamics of a Hamiltonian system after a double van der Waals potential energy surface degenerates into a single well. The energy of the system is increased from the bottom of the potential well up to the dissociation energy, which occurs when the system becomes open. This paper develops a symplectic bifurcation theory for integrable systems in dimension four. We prove that if an integrable system has no hyperbolic singularities and its bifurcation diagram has no vertical tangencies, then the fibers of the induced singular Lagrangian fibration are connected. We provide conditions to guarantee the occurrence of Shilnikov bifurcations in analytic unfoldings of some Hopf-Zero singularities through a beyond all order phenomenon: the exponentially small breakdown of invariant manifolds which coincide at any order of the normal form procedure. We use blowup to study the regularization of codimension one two-fold singularities in planar piecewise smooth (PWS) dynamical systems. We focus on singular canards, pseudo-equlibria and limit cycles that can occur in the PWS system. Using the regularization of Sotomayor and Teixeira \cite{Sotomayor96}, we show rigorously how singular canards can persist and how the bifurcation of pseudo-equilibria is related to bifurcations of equilibria in the regularized system. We provide a complete symmetry-breaking bifurcation control for equivariant smooth differential systems with Bogdanov-Takens singularities. Controller coefficient space is partitioned by critical controller sets into different connected regions. Two dynamical models that have been proposed to describe transitions between low and high confinement states (L-H transitions) in confined plasmas are analysed using singularity theory and stability theory.
