This paper is devoted to establish an invariance principle where the limit process is a multifractional Gaussian process with a multifractional function which takes its values in $(1/2,1)$. Some properties, such as regularity and local self-similarity of this process are studied. Moreover the limit process is compared to the multifractional Brownian motion.
We consider multifractional process given by double Ito--Wiener integrals, which generalize the multifractional Rosenblatt process. We prove that this process is continuous and has a square integrable local time.
Let X be an arbitrary centered Gaussian process whose trajectories are, with probability one, continuous nowhere differentiable functions. It follows from a classical result, derived from zero-one law, that, with probability one, the trajectories of X have the same global Hölder regularity over any compact interval, that is the uniform Hölder exponent does not depend on the choice of a trajectory. A similar phenomenon happens with their local Hölder regularity measured through the local Hölder exponent. Therefore, it seems natural to ask the following question: does such a phenomenon also occu…
We study the small ball asymptotics problem in $L_2$ for two generalizations of the fractional Brownian motion with variable Hurst parameter. To this end, we perform careful analysis of the singular values asymptotics for associated integral operators.
This contribution derives the exact asymptotic behaviour of the supremum of alpha(t)-locally stationary Gaussian random fields over a finite hypercube. We present two applications of our result; the first one deals with extremes of ggregate multifractional Brownian motions, whereas the second application establishes the exact asymptotics of the supremum of chi-processes generated by multifractional Brownian motions.
Explicit solutions for a class of linear backward stochastic differential equations (BSDE) driven by Gaussian Volterra processes are given. These processes include the multifractional brownian motion and the multifractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. By an Itô formula, proven in the context of Malliavin calculus, the BSDE is associated to a linear second order partial differential equation with terminal condition whose solution is given by a Feynman-Kac type formula. An application to self-financing trading strategies is discussed.
In this paper, firstly, we generalize the definition of the bifractional Brownian motion $B^{H,K}:=\Big(B^{H,K}\;;\;t\geq 0\Big)$, with parameters $H\in(0,1)$ and $K\in(0,1]$, to the case where $H$ is no longer a constant, but a function $H(.)$ of the time index $t$ of the process. We denote this new process by $B^{H(.),K}$. Secondly, we study its time regularities, the local asymptotic self-similarity and the long-range dependence properties. {\bf Key words:} {Gaussian process; Self similar process; Fractional Brownian motion; Bifractional Brownian motion; Multifractional Brownian motion; Loc…
Stochastic integration \textit{wrt} Gaussian processes has raised strong interest in recent years, motivated in particular by its applications in Internet traffic modeling, biomedicine and finance. The aim of this work is to define and develop a White Noise Theory-based anticipative stochastic calculus with respect to all Gaussian processes that have an integral representation over a real (maybe infinite) interval. Very rich, this class of Gaussian processes contains, among many others, Volterra processes (and thus fractional Brownian motion) as well as processes the regularity of which varies…
In this paper the whole family of fractional Brownian motions is constructed as a single Gaussian field indexed by time and the Hurst index simultaneously. The field has a simple covariance structure and it is related to two generalizations of fractional Brownian motion known as multifractional Brownian motions. A mistake common to the existing literature regarding multifractional Brownian motions is pointed out and corrected. The Gaussian field, due to inherited ``duality'', reveals a new way of constructing martingales associated with the odd and even part of a fractional Brownian motion and…
The aim of this work is to define and perform a study of local times of all Gaussian processes that have an integral representation over a real interval (that maybe infinite). Very rich, this class of Gaussian processes, contains Volterra processes (and thus fractional Brownian motion), multifractional Brownian motions as well as processes, the regularity of which varies along the time. Using the White Noise-based anticipative stochastic calculus with respect to Gaussian processes developed in [Leb17], we first establish a Tanaka formula. This allows us to define both weighted and non-weighted…
Fine regularity of stochastic processes is usually measured in a local way by local Hölder exponents and in a global way by fractal dimensions. Following a previous work of Adler, we connect these two concepts for multiparameter Gaussian random fields. More precisely, we prove that almost surely the Hausdorff dimensions of the range and the graph in any ball $B(t_0,ρ)$ are bounded from above using the local Hölder exponent at $t_0$. We define the deterministic local sub-exponent of Gaussian processes, which allows to obtain an almost sure lower bound for these dimensions. Moreover, the Hausdor…
A lot is known about the Hölder regularity of stochastic processes, in particular in the case of Gaussian processes. Recently, a finer analysis of the local regularity of functions, termed 2-microlocal analysis, has been introduced in a deterministic frame: through the computation of the so-called 2-microlocal frontier, it allows in particular to predict the evolution of regularity under the action of (pseudo-) differential operators. In this work, we develop a 2-microlocal analysis for the study of certain stochastic processes. We show that moments of the increments allow, under fairly genera…
We study invariance principles and convergence to a Gaussian limit for stochastic series of the form $S(c,Z)=\sum_{m=1}^{\infty }\sum_{α_{1}<...<α_{m}}c(α_{1},...,α_{m})\prod_{i=1}^{m}Z_{α_{i}}$ where $Z_{k}$, $k\in \mathbb{N}$, is a sequence of centred independent random variables of unit variance. In the case when the $Z_{k}$'s are Gaussian, $S(c,Z)$ is an element of the Wiener chaos and convergence to a Gaussian limit (so the corresponding nonlinear CLT) has been intensively studied by Nualart, Peccati, Nourdin and several other authors. The invariance principle consists in taking $Z_{k}$ w…
Stochastic integration with respect to Gaussian processes, such as fractional Brownian motion (fBm) or multifractional Brownian motion (mBm), has raised strong interest in recent years, motivated in particular by applications in finance, Internet traffic modeling and biomedicine. The aim of this work to define and develop, using White Noise Theory, an anticipative stochastic calculus with respect to a large class of Gaussian processes, denoted G, that contains, among many other processes, Volterra processes (and thus fBm) and also mBm. This stochastic calculus includes a definition of a stocha…
We investigate Wiener-transformable markets, where the driving process is given by an adapted transformation of a Wiener process. This includes processes with long memory, like fractional Brownian motion and related processes, and, in general, Gaussian processes satisfying certain regularity conditions on their covariance functions. Our choice of markets is motivated by the well-known phenomena of the so-called `constant' and `variable depth' memory observed in real world price processes, for which fractional and multifractional models are the most adequate descriptions. Motivated by integral …
We consider the process of partial sums of moving averages of finite order with a regular varying memory function, constructed from a stationary sequence, variance of the sum of which is a regularly varying function. We study the Gaussian approximation of this process of partial sums with the aid of a certain class of Gaussian processes, and obtain sufficient conditions for the $C$-convergence in the invariance principle in the Donsker form
We compute explicit bounds in the normal and chi-square approximations of multilinear homogenous sums (of arbitrary order) of general centered independent random variables with unit variance. In particular, we show that chaotic random variables enjoy the following form of universality: (a) the normal and chi-square approximations of any homogenous sum can be completely characterized and assessed by first switching to its Wiener chaos counterpart, and (b) the simple upper bounds and convergence criteria available on the Wiener chaos extend almost verbatim to the class of homogeneous sums.
We study the convergence in total variation distance for series of the form $$ S_{N}(c,Z)=\sum_{l=1}^{N}\sum_{i_{1}<\cdots<i_{l}}c(i_{1},...,i_{l})Z_{i_{1}}\cdots Z_{i_{l}}, $$ where $Z_{k},k\in {\mathbb{N}}$ are independent centered random variables with ${\mathbb{E}}(Z_{k}^{2})=1$. This enters in the framework of the $U$--statistics theory which plays a major role in modern statistic. In the case when $Z_{k},k\in {\mathbb{N}}$ are standard normal, $S_{N}(c,Z)$ is an element of the sum of the first $N$ Wiener chaoses and, starting with the seminal paper of D. Nualart and G. Peccati, the conve…
We study fine properties of the convergence of a high intensity shot noise field towards the Gaussian field with the same covariance structure. In particular we (i) establish a strong invariance principle, i.e. a quantitative coupling between a high intensity shot noise field and the Gaussian limit such that they are uniformly close on large domains with high probability, and (ii) use this to derive an asymptotic expansion for the critical level above which the excursion sets of the shot noise field percolate.
Recently, Hammond and Sheffield introduced a model of correlated random walks that scale to fractional Brownian motions with long-range dependence. In this paper, we consider a natural generalization of this model to dimension $d\geq 2$. We define a $\mathbb Z^d$-indexed random field with dependence relations governed by an underlying random graph with vertices $\mathbb Z^d$, and we study the scaling limits of the partial sums of the random field over rectangular sets. An interesting phenomenon appears: depending on how fast the rectangular sets increase along different directions, different r…
We prove an invariance principle for Brownian motion in Gaussian or Poissonian random scenery by the method of characteristic functions. Annealed asymptotic limits are derived in all dimensions, with a focus on the case of dimension $d=2$, which is the main new contribution of the paper.
This paper is a continuation of work arXiv:2006.09583 devoted to establishment of the convergence rate in the strong invariance principle for cumulative processes. We establish optimal rate of convergence for the case when regeneration periods and increments over them have only power moments of order greater than 2. Under this power-type conditions two types of approximation by Wiener process are proved: the rate of convergence in the Strassen's invariance principle and inequalities for the probability that random process deviates from the approximating one.
The BBM equation is a Hamiltonian PDE which revealed to be a very interesting test-model to study the transformation property of Gaussian measures along the flow. In this paper we study the BBM equation with critical dispersion (which is a Benjamin-Ono type model). We prove that the image of the Gaussian measures supported on fractional Sobolev spaces of increasing regularity are absolutely continuous, but we cannot identify the density, for which new ideas are needed.
We establish an invariance principle for a one-dimensional random walk in a dynamical random environment given by a speed-change exclusion process. The jump probabilities of the walk depend on the configuration of the exclusion in a finite box around the walker. The environment starts from equilibrium. After a suitable space-time rescaling, the random walk converges to a sum of two independent processes, a Brownian motion and a Gaussian process with stationary increments.

We establish optimal logarithmic rates of convergence in the strong invariance principle for multivariate cumulative processes in the Smith's sense. Exponential probabilistic inequalities of Komlós-Major-Tusnády type are obtained. Provided examples include applications to stopped sums and birth and death processes.
We prove quasi-invariance of Gaussian measures $μ_s$ with Cameron-Martin space $H^s$ under the flow of the defocusing nonlinear wave equation with polynomial nonlinearities of any order for all $s>5/2$, including fractional $s$. This extends work of Oh-Tzvetkov [15] and Gunaratnam-Oh-Tzvetkov-Weber [10] who proved this result this result for a cubic nonlinearity and $s$ an even integer. The main contributions are a modified construction of a weighted adapted to higher order nonlinearity, and an energy estimate for the derivative of the energy replacing the integration by parts argument introdu…
This note investigates invariance principles for sums of N(nt) iid radom variables, where n is an integer, t is a positive real number and N(u) is a stochastic process with nonnegative integer values. We show that the sequence of sums of these random variables denoted S(n,t), when appropriately centered and normalized, weakly converges to a Gaussian process. We give sufficient conditions depending on the expectation of N(nt) which allows to rescale S(n,t) into a stochastic S(n,a(t)) weakly converging to a Brownian motion.
We study the notions of differentiating and non-differentiating sigma-fields in the general framework of (possibly drifted) Gaussian processes, and characterize their invariance properties under equivalent changes of probability measure. As an application, we investigate the class of stochastic derivatives associated with shifted fractional Brownian motions. We finally establish conditions for the existence of a jointly measurable version of the differentiated process, and we outline a general framework for stochastic embedded equations.
The periodic DNLS gauge is an anticipative map with singular generator which revealed crucial in the study of the periodic derivative NLS. We prove quasi-invariance of the Gaussian measure on $L^2(\T)$ with covariance $[1+(-\D)^{s}]^{-1}$ under these transformations for any $s>\frac12$. This extends previous achievements by Nahmod, Ray-Bellet, Sheffield and Staffilani (2011) and Genovese, Lucà and Valeri (2018), who proved the result for integer values of the regularity parameter $s$.
We investigate the asymptotic behaviors of the solution $u(t, \cdot)$ to a stochastic heat equation with a periodic, gradient-type nonlinear term. We extend the central limit theorem for finite-dimensional diffusions to infinite-dimensional settings. Due to our results, $\frac{1}{\sqrt t}u(t, \cdot)$ converges weakly to a centered Gaussian variable whose covariance operator is described through Poisson equations. Different from the finite-dimensional case, the fluctuation in space vanishes in the limit distribution. Furthermore, we verify the tightness and present an invariance principle for $…
We study pathwise invariances of centred random fields that can be controlled through the covariance. A result involving composition operators is obtained in second-order settings, and we show that various path properties including additivity boil down to invariances of the covariance kernel. These results are extended to a broader class of operators in the Gaussian case, via the Loève isometry. Several covariance-driven pathwise invariances are illustrated, including fields with symmetric paths, centred paths, harmonic paths, or sparse paths. The proposed approach delivers a number of promisi…
We study the transport properties of the Gaussian measures on Sobolev spaces under the dynamics of the cubic fourth order nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the circle. In particular, we establish an optimal regularity result for quasi-invariance of the mean-zero Gaussian measures on Sobolev spaces. The main new ingredient is an improved energy estimate established by performing an infinite iteration of normal form reductions on the energy functional. Furthermore, we show that the dispersion is essential for such a quasi-invariance result by proving non quasi-invariance of the Gaussian measures…
We consider the Cauchy problem for the fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation (FNLS) on the one-dimensional torus with cubic nonlinearity and high dispersion parameter $α> 1$, subject to a Gaussian random initial data of negative Sobolev regularity $σ<s-\frac{1}{2}$, for $s \le \frac 12$. We show that for all $s_{*}(α) <s\leq \frac{1}{2}$, the equation is almost surely globally well-posed. Moreover, the associated Gaussian measure supported on $H^{s}(\mathbb T)$ is quasi-invariant under the flow of the equation. For $α< \frac{1}{20}(17 + 3\sqrt{21}) \approx 1.537$, the regularity of the ini…
The investigation asymptotic limits on associated data mainly focused on limit theorems of summands of associated data and on the related invariance principles. In a series of papers, we are going to set the general frame of the theory by considering an arbitrary infinitely decomposable (divisible) limit law for summands and study the associated functional laws converging to Lévy processes. The asymptotic frame of Newman (1980) is still used as a main tool. Detailed results are given when $G$ is a Gaussian law (as confirmation of known results) and when $G$ is a Poisson law. In the later case,…
Let $X_1,X_2,\ldots$ be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables, with mean zero and variance one. Let $W_n=(X_1+\ldots+X_n)/\sqrt{n}$. An old and celebrated result of Prohorov asserts that $W_n$ converges in total variation to the standard Gaussian distribution if and only if $W_{n_0}$ has an absolutely continuous component for some $n_0$. In the present paper, we give yet another proof and extend Prohorov's theorem to a situation where, instead of $W_n$, we consider more generally a sequence of homogoneous polynomials in the $X_i$. More precisely, we exhibit conditions for a recent invariance p…
General Central limit theorem deals with weak limits (in type) of sums of row-elements of array random variables. In some situations as in the invariance principle problem, the sums may include only parts of the row-elements. For strictly stationary arrays (stationary for each row), there is no change to the asymptotic results. But for non-stationary data, especially for dependent data, asymptotic laws of partial sums moving in rows may require extra-conditions to exist. This paper deals with central limit theorems with Gaussian limits for non-stationary data. Our main focus is on dependent da…
We prove the quasi-invariance of gaussian measures (supported by functions of increasing Sobolev regularity) under the flow of one dimensional Hamiltonian PDE's such as the regularized long wave (BBM) equation.
We consider dimer models on graphs which are bipartite, periodic and satisfy a geometric condition called {\em isoradiality}, defined in \cite{Kenyon3}. We show that the scaling limit of the height function of any such dimer model is $1/\sqrtπ$ times a Gaussian free field. Triangular quadri-tilings were introduced in \cite{Bea}; they are dimer models on a family of isoradial graphs arising form rhombus tilings. By means of two height functions, they can be interpreted as random interfaces in dimension 2+2. We show that the scaling limit of each of the two height functions is $1/\sqrtπ$ times a…
Under certain regularity conditions, we establish quasi-invariance of Gaussian measures on periodic functions under the flow of cubic fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equations on the one-dimensional torus.
We extend, in the free probability framework, an invariance principle for multilinear homogeneous sums with low influences recently established in [E. Mossel, R. O'Donnell and K. Oleszkiewicz (2010). Noise stability of functions with low influences: invariance and optimality. {\it Ann. Math.} {\bf 171}, no. 1, 295-341]. To do so, a hypercontractivity property for those homogeneous sums is necessary, and to prove it has turned out to be our main task. Finally, we deduce from our extension several universality phenomenons, in the spirit of the paper [I. Nourdin, G. Peccati and G. Reinert (2010).…
We prove an invariance principle for functions on a slice of the Boolean cube, which is the set of all vectors {0,1}^n with Hamming weight k. Our invariance principle shows that a low-degree, low-influence function has similar distributions on the slice, on the entire Boolean cube, and on Gaussian space. Our proof relies on a combination of ideas from analysis and probability, algebra and combinatorics. Our result imply a version of majority is stablest for functions on the slice, a version of Bourgain's tail bound, and a version of the Kindler-Safra theorem. As a corollary of the Kindler-Safr…
We prove quenched invariance principle for simple random walk on the unique infinite percolation cluster for a general class of percolation models on Z^d, d>=2, with long-range correlations introduced in arXiv:1212.2885, solving one of the open problems from there. This gives new results for random interlacements in dimension d>=3 at every level, as well as for the vacant set of random interlacements and the level sets of the Gaussian free field in the regime of the so-called local uniqueness (which is believed to coincide with the whole supercritical regime). An essential ingredient of our pr…
We give simple criteria to identify the exponential order of magnitude of the absolute value of the determinant for wide classes of random matrix models, not requiring the assumption of invariance. These include Gaussian matrices with covariance profiles, Wigner matrices and covariance matrices with subexponential tails, Erdős-Rényi and $d$-regular graphs for any polynomial sparsity parameter, and non-mean-field random matrix models, such as random band matrices for any polynomial bandwidth. The proof builds on recent tools, including the theory of the Matrix Dyson Equation as developed in [Aj…
The generalised eigenvalues for a pair of $N\times N$ matrices $(X_1,X_2)$ are defined as the solutions of the equation $\det (X_1-λX_2)=0$, or equivalently, for $X_2$ invertible, as the eigenvalues of $X_2^{-1}X_1$. We consider Gaussian real matrices $X_1,X_2$, for which the generalised eigenvalues have the rotational invariance of the half-sphere, or after a fractional linear transformation, the rotational invariance of the unit disk. In these latter variables we calculate the joint eigenvalue probability density function, the probability $p_{N,k}$ of finding $k$ real eigenvalues, the densit…
We establish a symmetry in a variety of integrable stochastic systems: Certain multi-point distributions of natural observables are unchanged under a shift of a subset of observation points. The property holds for stochastic vertex models, (1+1)d directed polymers in random media, last passage percolation, the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation, and the Airy sheet. In each instance it leads to computations of previously inaccessible joint distributions. The proofs rely on a combination of the Yang-Baxter integrability of the inhomogeneous colored stochastic six-vertex model and Lagrange interpolatio…

Let X be randomly chosen from {-1,1}^n, and let Y be randomly chosen from the standard spherical Gaussian on R^n. For any (possibly unbounded) polytope P formed by the intersection of k halfspaces, we prove that |Pr [X belongs to P] - Pr [Y belongs to P]| < log^{8/5}k * Delta, where Delta is a parameter that is small for polytopes formed by the intersection of "regular" halfspaces (i.e., halfspaces with low influence). The novelty of our invariance principle is the polylogarithmic dependence on k. Previously, only bounds that were at least linear in k were known. We give two important applicat…
We study the zeroes of a family of random holomorphic functions on the unit disc, distinguished by their invariance with respect to the hyperbolic geometry. Our main finding is a transition in the limiting behaviour of the number of zeroes in a large hyperbolic disc. We find a normal distribution if the covariance decays faster than a certain critical value. In contrast, in the regime of 'long-range dependence' when the covariance decays slowly, the limiting distribution is skewed. For a closely related model we emphasise a link with Gaussian multiplicative chaos.
