In this paper we continue the investigation of coherent systems of type (n,d,k) on the projective line which are stable with respect to some value of the parameter α. We work mainly with k<n and obtain existence results for arbitrary k in certain cases, together with complete results for k=3. Our methods involve the use of the "flips" which occur at critical values of the parameter.
We prove that there exists a supersingular nonsingular curve of genus $4$ in arbitrary characteristic $p$. For $p>3$ we shall prove that the desingularization of a certain fiber product over $\mathbb{P}^1$ of two supersingular elliptic curves is supersingular.
Let $X$ be a non-singular irreducible complex projective curve of genus $g\geq 2$. We use $(t,\ell)$-stability to prove the existence of coherent systems over $X$ that are $α$-stable for all allowed $α>0$.
A curve over a perfect field $K$ of characteristic $p > 0$ is said to be superspecial if its Jacobian is isomorphic to a product of supersingular elliptic curves over the algebraic closure $\overline{K}$. In recent years, isomorphism classes of superspecial nonhyperelliptic curves of genus $4$ over finite fields in small characteristic have been enumerated. In particular, the non-existence of superspecial curves of genus $4$ in characteristic $p = 7$ was proved. In this note, we give an elementary proof of the existence of superspecial nonhyperelliptic curves of genus $4$ for infinitely many p…
We investigate group actions on the category of coherent sheaves over weighted projective lines. We show that the equivariant category with respect to certain finite group action is equivalent to the category of coherent sheaves over a weighted projective curve, where the genus of the underlying smooth projective curve and the weight data are given by explicit formulas. Moreover, we obtain a trichotomy result for all such equivariant relations. This equivariant approach provides an effective way to investigate smooth projective curves via weighted projective lines. As an application, we give a…

In this paper, we show that there are solutions of every degree $r$ of the equation of Pell-Abel on some real hyperelliptic curve of genus $g$ if and only if $ r > g$. This result, which is known to the experts, has consequences, which seem to be unknown to the experts. First, we deduce the existence of a primitive $k$-differential on an hyperelliptic curve of genus $g$ with a unique zero of order $k(2g-2)$ for every $(k,g)\neq(2,2)$. Moreover, we show that there exists a non Weierstrass point of order $n$ modulo a Weierstrass point on a hyperelliptic curve of genus $g$ if and only if $n > 2g$…
We use recollement and HRS-tilt to describe bounded t-structures on the bounded derived category $\mathcal{D}^b(\mathbb{X})$ of coherent sheaves over a weighted projective line $\mathbb{X}$ of virtual genus $\leq 1$. We will see from our description that the combinatorics in classification of bounded t-structures on $\mathcal{D}^b(\mathbb{X})$ can be reduced to that in classification of bounded t-structures on bounded derived categories of finite dimensional right modules over representation-finite finite dimensional hereditary algebras.
For every integer $g \,\geq\, 2$ we show the existence of a compact Riemann surface $Σ$ of genus $g$ such that the rank two trivial holomorphic vector bundle ${\mathcal O}^{\oplus 2}_Σ$ admits holomorphic connections with $\text{SL}(2,{\mathbb R})$ monodromy and maximal Euler class. Such a monodromy representation is known to coincide with the Fuchsian uniformizing representation for some Riemann surface of genus $g$. The construction carries over to all very stable and compatible real holomorphic structures for the topologically trivial rank two bundle over $Σ$ and gives the existence of holo…
