From the defining exchange relations of the A_{q,p}(gl_{N}) elliptic quantum algebra, we construct subalgebras which can be characterized as q-deformed W_N algebras. The consistency conditions relating the parameters p,q,N and the central charge c are shown to be related to the singularity structure of the functional coefficients defining the exchange relations of specific vertex operators representations of A_{q,p}({gl_{N}) available when N=2.
By the classical genus zero Sugawara construction one obtains from admissible representations of affine Lie algebras (Kac-Moody algebras of affine type) representations of the Virasoro algebra. In this lecture first the classical construction is recalled. Then, after giving a review on the global multi-point algebras of Krichever-Novikov type for compact Riemann surfaces of arbitrary genus, the higher genus Sugawara construction is introduced. Finally, the lecture reports on results obtained in joint work with O.K. Sheinman. We were able to show that also in the higher genus, multi-point situa…
The construction of a q-deformed N=2 superconformal algebra is proposed in terms of level 1 currents of ${\cal{U}}_{q} ({\widehat{su}}(2))$ quantum affine Lie algebra and a single real Fermi field. In particular, it suggests the expression for the q-deformed Energy-Momentum tensor in the Sugawara form. Its constituents generate two isomorphic quadratic algebraic structures. The generalization to ${\cal{U}}_{q} ({\widehat{su}}(N+1))$ is also proposed.
We give field theoretic realizations of both the $q$-Heisenberg and the $q$-Virasoro algebra. In particular, we obtain the operator product expansions among the current and the energy momentum tensor obtained using the Sugawara construction.
We show how to obtain from highest weight representations of Krichever-Novikov algebras of affine type (also called higher genus affine Kac-Moody algebras) representations of centrally extended Krichever-Novikov vector field algebras via the Sugawara construction. This generalizes classical results where one obtains representations of the Virasoro algebra. Relations between the weights of the corresponding representations are given and Casimir operators are constructed. In an appendix the Sugawara construction for the multi-point situation is done.
An hbar-deformed Virasoro Poisson algebra is obtained using the Wakimoto realization of the Sugawara operator for the Yangian double DY_\hbar(sl_2)_c at the critical level c=-2.
We give explicit formulas for the elements of the center of the completed quantum affine algebra in type $A$ at the critical level which are associated with the fundamental representations. We calculate the images of these elements under a Harish-Chandra-type homomorphism. These images coincide with those in the free field realization of the quantum affine algebra and reproduce generators of the $q$-deformed classical $W$-algebra of Frenkel and Reshetikhin.
We apply the technique of localization for vertex algebras to the Segal-Sugawara construction of an ``internal'' action of the Virasoro algebra on affine Kac-Moody algebras. The result is a lifting of twisted differential operators from the moduli of curves to the moduli of curves with bundles, with arbitrary decorations and complex twistings. This construction gives a uniform approach to a collection of phenomena describing the geometry of the moduli spaces of bundles over varying curves: the KZB equations and heat kernels on non-abelian theta functions, their critical level limit giving the …
The work is devoted to a probably new connection between deformed Virasoro algebra and quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. We give an explicit realization of Virasoro current via vertex operators of level 1 integrable representation of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. The same is done for a twisted version of deformed Virasoro algebra.
We give a proof of the recursive formula on the norm of Whittaker vector of the deformed Virasoro algebra, which is an analog of the one for the Virasoro Lie algebra proposed by Al. Zamolodchikov. Our formula gives a proof of the pure SU(2) 5d AGT relation proposed by Awata and Yamada. We also give a summary of the structures of the deformed Virasoro algebra and the fundamental properties of the Verma module.
We study the fused currents of the deformed Virasoro algebra (DVA). By constructing a homotopy operator we show that for special values of the parameter of the algebra fused currents pairwise coincide on the cohomologies of the Felder resolution. Within the algebraic approach to lattice models these currents are known to describe neutral excitations of the solid-on-solid (SOS) models in the transfer-matrix picture. It allows us to prove the closeness of the system of excitations for a special nonunitary series of restricted SOS (RSOS) models. Though the results of the algebraic approach to lat…
We revisit the construction of deformed Virasoro algebras from elliptic quantum algebras of vertex type, generalizing the bilinear trace procedure proposed in the 90's. It allows us to make contact with the vertex operator techniques that were introduced separately at the same period. As a by-product, the method pinpoints two critical values of the central charge for which the center of the algebra is extended, as well as (in the $gl(2)$ case) a Liouville formula.
Whenever the group $\R^n$ acts on an algebra $\calA$, there is a method to twist $\cal A$ to a new algebra $\calA_θ$ which depends on an antisymmetric matrix $θ$ ($θ^{μν}=-θ^{νμ}=\mathrm{constant}$). The Groenewold-Moyal plane $\calA_θ(\R^{d+1})$ is an example of such a twisted algebra. We give a general construction to realise this twist in terms of $\calA$ itself and certain ``charge'' operators $Q_μ$. For $\calA_θ(\R^{d+1})$, $Q_μ$ are translation generators. This construction is then applied to twist the oscillators realising the Kac-Moody (KM) algebra as well as the KM currents. They give…
In this lecture we discuss `beyond CFT' from symmetry point of view. After reviewing the Virasoro algebra, we introduce deformed Virasoro algebras and elliptic algebras. These algebras appear in solvable lattice models and we study them by free field approach.
We study an analog of the AGT relation in five dimensions. We conjecture that the instanton partition function of 5D N=1 pure SU(2) gauge theory coincides with the inner product of the Gaiotto-like state in the deformed Virasoro algebra. In four dimensional case, a relation between the Gaiotto construction and the theory of Braverman and Etingof is also discussed.
We study the root of unity limit of $(\textbf{q}, \textbf{t})$-deformed Virasoro matrix models, for which we call the resulting model Uglov matrix model. We derive the associated Virasoro constraints on the partition function and find agreement of the central charge with the expression obtained from the level-rank duality associated with the parafermion CFT.
As the Yangian double with center, which is deformed from affine algebra by the additive loop parameter $\hbar$ ,we get the commuting relation and the bosonization of quantum $\hbar$-deformed Virasoro algebra. The corresponding Miura transformation, associated screening operators and the BRST charge have been studied. Moreover, we also constructe the bosonization for type I and type II intertwiner vertex operators. Finally, we show that the commuting relation of these vertex operators in the case of $p'=r p=r-1$ and $\hbar =π$ actually gives the exact scattering matrix of the Restricted sine-Go…
We give a proof of Awata and Yamada's conjecture for the explicit formula of Whittaker vector of the deformed Virasoro algebra realized in the Fock space. The formula is expressed as a summation over Macdonald symmetric functions with factored coefficients. In the proof we fully use currents appearing in the Fock representation of Ding-Iohara-Miki quantum algebra. We also mention an interpretation of Whittaker vector in terms of the geometry of the Hilbert schemes of points on the affine plane.
An analog of the minimal unitary series representations for the deformed Virasoro algebra is constructed using vertex operators of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$. A similar construction is proposed for the elliptic algebra $A_{q,p}(\hat{sl}_2)$.
The purpose of this paper is to study Virasoro extensions of the q-deformed Witt Hom-Lie superalgebra. Moreover, we provide the cohomology and deformations of the Ramond Hom-superalgebra and special Ramond Hom-superalgebra.
We discuss some aspects of the representation theory of the deformed Virasoro algebra $\virpq$. In particular, we give a proof of the formula for the Kac determinant and then determine the center of $\virpq$ for $q$ a primitive N-th root of unity. We derive explicit expressions for the generators of the center in the limit $t=qp^{-1}\to \infty$ and elucidate the connection to the Hall-Littlewood symmetric functions. Furthermore, we argue that for $q=\sqrtN{1}$ the algebra describes `Gentile statistics' of order $N-1$, i.e., a situation in which at most $N-1$ particles can occupy the same state…
In this paper we employ the construction of Dirac bracket for the remaining current of $sl(2)_q$ deformed Kac-Moody algebra when constraints similar to those connecting the $sl(2)$-WZW model and the Liouville theory are imposed and show that it satisfy the q-Virasoro algebra proposed by Frenkel and Reshetikhin. The crucial assumption considered in our calculation is the existence of a classical Poisson bracket algebra induced, in a consistent manner by the correspondence principle, mapping the quantum generators into commuting objects of classical nature preserving their algebra.
In this paper, we propose an elliptic algebra $A_{q,p;\hatπ}(\hat{gl_2})$ which is based on the relations $RLL=LLR^{*}$, where $R$ and $R^{*}$ are the dynamical R-maxtrices of $A^{(1)}_{1}$ type face model with the elliptic moduli shifted by the center of the algebra. From the Ding-Frenkel correspondence, we find that its corresponding (Drinfeld) current algebra at level one is the algebra of screening currents for q-deformed Virasoro algebra. We realize the elliptic algebra at level one by Miki's construction from the bosonization for the type I and type II vertex operators. We also show that t…
Primary fields of the $q$-deformed Virasoro algebra are constructed. Commutation relations among the primary fields are studied. Adjoint actions of the deformed Virasoro current on the primary fields are represented by the shift operator $Θ_ξ f(x)=f(ξx)$. Four point functions of the primary fields enjoy the connection formula associated with the Boltzmann weights of the fusion Andrews-Baxter-Forrester model.
A quantum deformation of the Virasoro algebra is defined. The Kac determinants at arbitrary levels are conjectured. We construct a bosonic realization of the quantum deformed Virasoro algebra. Singular vectors are expressed by the Macdonald symmetric functions. This is proved by constructing screening currents acting on the bosonic Fock space.
To a given algebraic curve we assign an infinite family of quantum curves (Schrödinger equations), which are in one-to-one correspondence with, and have the structure of, Virasoro singular vectors. For a spectral curve of a matrix model we build such quantum curves out of an appropriate representation of the Virasoro algebra, encoded in the structure of the $α/β$-deformed matrix integral and its loop equation. We generalize this construction to a large class of algebraic curves by means of a refined topological recursion. We also specialize this construction to various specific matrix models w…
We describe a new algebraic structure of "deformed chiral algebra" motivated by the study of the deformed W-algebras. We use it to gain some insights into the deformed Virasoro algebra.
We define the q-deformed Gelfand-Dickey bracket on the space of q-pseudodifference symbols which agrees with the Poisson Virasoro algebra of E.Frenkel and N.Reshetikhin and its generalizations and prove its uniqueness (in a natural class of quadratic Poisson structures). The associated hierarchies of nonlinear q-difference equations are also constructed.
In this thesis, we obtain the formula for the Kac determinant of the algebra arising from the level $N$ representation of the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra. This formula can be proved by decomposing the level $N$ representation into the deformed $W$-algebra part and the $U(1)$ boson part, and using the screening currents of the deformed $W$-algebra. It is also discovered that singular vectors obtained by its screening currents correspond to the generalized Macdonald functions. Moreover, we investigate the $q \rightarrow 0$ limit of five-dimensional AGT correspondence. In this limit, the simplest 5D…
In modern mathematical and theoretical physics various generalizations, in particular supersymmetric or quantum, of Riemann surfaces and complex algebraic curves play a prominent role. We show that such supersymmetric and quantum generalizations can be combined together, and construct supersymmetric quantum curves, or super-quantum curves for short. Our analysis is conducted in the formalism of super-eigenvalue models: we introduce $β$-deformed version of those models, and derive differential equations for associated $α/β$-deformed super-matrix integrals. We show that for a given model there e…
In this article we develop an approach to deformations of the Witt and Virasoro algebras based on $σ$-derivations. We show that $σ$-twisted Jacobi type identity holds for generators of such deformations. For the $σ$-twisted generalization of Lie algebras modeled by this construction, we develop a theory of central extensions. We show that our approach can be used to construct new deformations of Lie algebras and their central extensions, which in particular include naturally the $q$-deformations of the Witt and Virasoro algebras associated to $q$-difference operators, providing also correspond…
The unified $ (p,q; α,γ, l)$-deformation of a number of well-known deformed oscillator algebras is introduced. The deformation is constructed by imputing new free parameters into the structure functions and by generalizing the defining relations of these algebras. The generalized Jordan-Schwinger and Holstein-Primakoff realizations of the $U_{pq}^{αγl}(su(2))$ algebra by the generalized $ (p,q; α,γ, l)$-deformed operators are found. The generalized $ (p,q; α,γ, l)$-deformation of the two-dimensional conformal field theory is established. By introducing the $ (p,q; α,γ, l)$-operator product expa…
We construct a free field realization of vertex operators of the dilute A_L models along with the Felder complex. For L=3, we also study an E_8 structure in terms of the deformed Virasoro currents.
In [FFR] Feingold, Frenkel and Ries gave a spinor construction of the vertex operator para-algebra (abelian intertwining algebra) V = V^0 \oplus V^1 \oplus V^2 \oplus V^3, whose summands are four level-1 irreducible representations of the affine Kac-Moody algebra D_4^(1). The triality group S_3 = < σ,τ| σ^3 = 1 = τ^2, τστ= σ^{-1} > in Aut(V) was constructed, preserving V^0 and permuting the V^i, for i=1,2,3. V is (1/2)Z-graded where V^i_n denotes the n-graded subspace of V^i. Vertex operators Y(v,z) for v in V^0_1 represent D_4^(1) on V, while those for which σ(v) = v represent G_2^(1). We inv…
We show that the deformed Virasoro algebra specializes in a certain limit to Lepowsky-Wilson's Z-algebra. This leads to a free field realization of the affine Lie algebra \hat{sl_2} which respects the principal gradation. We discuss some features of this bosonization including the screening current and vertex operators.
It is shown that the elliptic algebra ${\cal A}_{q,p}(\hat{sl}(2)_c)$ at the critical level c=-2 has a multidimensional center containing some trace-like operators t(z). A family of Poisson structures indexed by a non-negative integer and containing the q-deformed Virasoro algebra is constructed on this center. We show also that t(z) close an exchange algebra when p^m=q^{c+2} for m integer, they commute when in addition p=q^{2k} for k integer non-zero, and they belong to the center of ${\cal A}_{q,p}(\hat{sl}(2)_c)$ when k is odd. The Poisson structures obtained for t(z) in these classical lim…
Three examples of free field constructions for the vertex operators of the elliptic quantum group ${\cal A}_{q,p}(\hat{sl}_2)$ are obtained. Two of these (for $p^{1/2}=\pm q^{3/2},p^{1/2}=-q^2$) are based on representation theories of the deformed Virasoro algebra, which correspond to the level 4 and level 2 $Z$-algebra of Lepowsky and Wilson. The third one ($p^{1/2}=q^{3}$) is constructed over a tensor product of a bosonic and a fermionic Fock spaces. The algebraic structure at $p^{1/2}=q^{3}$, however, is not related to the deformed Virasoro algebra. Using these free field constructions, an …
We define deformations of W-algebras associated to complex semi-simple Lie algebras by means of quantum Drinfeld-Sokolov reduction procedure for affine quantum groups. We also introduce Wakimoto modules for arbitrary affine quantum groups and construct free field resolutions and screening operators for the deformed W-algebras. We compare our results with earlier definitions of q-W-algebras and of the deformed screening operators due to Awata, Kubo, Odake, Shiraishi (q-alg/9507034, q-alg/9508011, q-alg/9612001), Feigin, E. Frenkel (q-alg/9508009) and E. Frenkel, Reshetikhin (q-alg/9708006). The…
We investigate the central extensions of the q-deformed (classical and quantum) Virasoro algebras constructed from the elliptic quantum algebra A_{q,p}[sl(N)_c]. After establishing the expressions of the cocycle conditions, we solve them, both in the classical and in the quantum case (for sl(2)). We find that the consistent central extensions are much more general that those found previously in the literature.
This is a paper in a series to study quantum vertex algebras and their relations with various quantum algebras. In this paper, we introduce a notion of T-type quantum vertex algebra and a notion of $G$-covariant $ϕ$-coordinated quasi module for a $T$-type quantum vertex algebra with an automorphism group $G$. We refine and extend several previous results and we obtain a commutator formula for $G$-covariant $ϕ$-coordinated quasi modules. As an illustrating example, we study a special case of the deformed Virasoro algebra $\V_{p,q}$ with $q=-1$, to which we associate a Clifford vertex superalgeb…
We construct operators t(z) in the elliptic algebra introduced by Foda et al. ${\cal A}_{q,p}({\hat sl}(2)_c)$. They close an exchange algebra when p^m=q^{c+2} for m integer. In addition they commute when p=q^{2k} for k integer non-zero, and they belong to the center of ${\cal A}_{q,p}({\hat sl}(2)_c)$ when k is odd. The Poisson structures obtained for t(z) in these classical limits are identical to the q-deformed Virasoro Poisson algebra, characterizing the exchange algebras at generic values of p, q and m as new ${\cal W}_{q,p}(sl(2))$ algebras.
We introduce twists by Cartan elements of conformal blocks on a curve X, corresponding to a Lie algebra g. We show that these twists define holomorphic functions, with theta-like behaviour, on a product of copies of its Jacobian J(X)^r. We then parametrise the conformal blocks by their twisted correlation functions of nilpotent currents, in the spirit of Feigin-Stoyanovsky. We compute the action of the Sugawara tensor in terms of these correlation functions. The result is a family of operators acting on forms on the product J(X)^r \times \prod_{i} S^{n_i}X of the Jacobian of X with its symmetr…
