Central extensions of classical and quantum q-Viraroso algebras

We investigate the central extensions of the q-deformed (classical and quantum) Virasoro algebras constructed from the elliptic quantum algebra A_{q,p}[sl(N)_c]. After establishing the expressions of the cocycle conditions, we solve them, both in the classical and in the quantum case (for sl(2)). We find that the consistent central extensions are much more general that those found previously in the literature.

Galois extensions for coquasi-Hopf algebras

The notions of Galois and cleft extensions are generalized for coquasi-Hopf algebras. It is shown that such an extension over a coquasi-Hopf algebra is cleft if and only if it is Galois and has the normal basis property. A Schneider type theorem is proven for coquasi-Hopf algebras with bijective antipode. As an application, we generalize Schauenburg's bialgebroid construction for coquasi-Hopf algebras.

An extension of $k$-algebras $B \subset A$ is said to have depth one if there exists a positive integer $n$ such that $ A$ is a direct summand of $ B^n$ in $_B\mtr{Mod}_B$. Depth one extensions of semisimple algebras are completely characterized in terms of their centers. A differential graded Lie algebra approach to non abelian extensions of associative algebras

In this paper we show that non abelian extensions of an associative algebra $\mathcal{B}$ by an associative algebra $\mathcal{A}$ can be viewed as Maurer-Cartan elements of a suitable differential graded Lie algebra $L$. In particular we show that $\mathcal{MC}(L)$, the Deligne groupoid of $L$, is in 1-1 correspondence with the non-abelian cohomology $H^2_{nab}(\mathcal{B},\mathcal{A})$.

Auslander regularity of norm based extensions of Weyl algebras

We first prove that for a Weyl algebra over a field of positive characteristic, its norm based extension is locally Auslander regular. We then prove that given an algebra which is Zariski locally isomorphic to the Weyl algebra, its norm based extension similarly defined is locally Auslander regular if and only if it is isomorphic to the original Weyl algebra.

We study the first and higher order noncommutative differential calculus of semi-commutative Galois extension induced by the graded q-differential algebra. Local cocycles and central extensions for multi-point algebras of Krichever-Novikov type

Multi-point algebras of Krichever Novikov type for higher genus Riemann surfaces are generalisations of the Virasoro algebra and its related algebras. Complete existence and uniqueness results for local 2-cocycles defining almost-graded central extensions of the functions algebra, the vector field algebra, and the differential operator algebra (of degree \le 1) are shown. This is applied to the higher genus, multi-point affine algebras to obtain uniqueness for almost-graded central extensions of the current algebra of a simple finite-dimensional Lie algebra.
