A Fock space is introduced that admits an action of a quantum group of type A supplemented with some extra operators. The canonical and dual canonical basis of the Fock space are computed and then used to derive the finite-dimenisonal tilting and irreducible characters for the Lie superalgebra osp(2|2n). We also determine all the composition factors of the symmetric tensors of the natural osp(2|2n)-module.
The quantum supergroup ${\rm{U}}_q({\mathfrak {osp}}(1|2n))$ admits a finite dimensional spinor representation, which does not have a classical limit. We construct a realisation of this representation on the Fock space of $q$-fermions. We also generalise the construction to the infinite dimensional spinor representations of ${\rm{U}}_q({\mathfrak {osp}}(2m+1|2n))$ for $m, n\ge 1$ by using both quantum bosons and fermions. This leads to a new realisation different from those obtained before by other researchers.
A representation of the Birman-Wenzl-Murakami algebra BW_{t}(-q^{2n},q) exists in the centraliser algebra End_{U_q(osp(1|2n))}(V^{\otimes t}), where V is the fundamental (2n+1)-dimensional irreducible U_{q}(osp(1|2n))-module. This representation is defined using permuted R-matrices acting on V^{\otimes t}. A complete set of projections onto and intertwiners between irreducible U_{q}(osp(1|2n))-summands of V^{\otimes t} exists via this representation, proving that End_{U_q(osp(1|2n))}V^{\otimes t}) is generated by the set of permuting R-matrices acting on V^{\otimes t}. We also show that a repr…
A two-parameter quantum deformation of the affine Lie super algebra $osp(2|2)^{(2)}$ is introduced and studied in some detail. This algebra is the first example associated with nonsimply-laced and twisted root systems of a quantum current algebra with the structure of a so-called infinite Hopf family of (super)algebras. A representation of this algebra at $c=1$ is realized in the product Fock space of two commuting sets of Heisenberg algebras.
We provide an explicit isomorphism between a quotient of the Bannai--Ito algebra and the Brauer algebra. We clarify also the connection with the action of the Lie superalgebra osp(1|2) on the threefold tensor product of its fundamental representation. Finally, a conjecture is proposed to describe the centralizer of osp(1|2) acting on three copies of an arbitrary finite irreducible representation in terms of a quotient of the Bannai-Ito algebra.
We obtain a closed form expression of the universal T-matrix encapsulating the duality of the quantum superalgebra U_q[osp(1/2)] and the corresponding supergroup OSp_q(1/2). The classical q-->1 limit of this universal T-matrix yields the group element of the undeformed OSp(1/2) supergroup. The finite dimensional representations of the quantum supergroup OSp_q(1/2) are readily constructed employing the said universal T-matrix and the known finite dimensional representations of the dually related deformed U_q[osp(1/2)] superalgebra. Proceeding further, we derive the product law, the recurrence r…
We recall the relation between the Lie superalgebra $osp(1/2n)$ and para-Bose operators. The quantum superalgebra $U_q[osp(1/2n)]$, defined as usual in terms of its Chevalley generators, is shown to be isomorphic to an associative algebra generated by so-called pre-oscillator operators satisfying a number of relations. From these relations, and the analogue with the non-deformed case, one can interpret these pre-oscillator operators as deformed para-Bose operators. Some consequences for $U_q[osp(1/2n)]$ (Cartan-Weyl basis, Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt basis) and its Hopf subalgebra $U_q[gl(n)]$ are …
We derive from the super RS algebra the Drinfeld basis of the twisted quantum affine superalgebra $U_q[osp(2|2)^{(2)}]$ by means of the Gauss decomposition technique. We explicitly construct a nonclassical level-one representation of $U_q[osp(2|2)^{(2)}]$ in terms of two $q$-deformed free boson fields.
The graded-fermion algebra and quasi-spin formalism are introduced and applied to obtain the $gl(m|n)\downarrow osp(m|n)$ branching rules for the "two-column" tensor irreducible representations of gl(m|n), for the case $m\leq n (n > 2)$. In the case m < n, all such irreducible representations of gl(m|n) are shown to be completely reducible as representations of osp(m|n). This is also shown to be true for the case m=n except for the "spin-singlet" representations which contain an indecomposable representation of osp(m|n) with composition length 3. These branching rules are given in fully explic…
The unitarizable irreps of the deformed para-Bose superalgebra $pB_q$, which is isomorphic to $U_q[osp(1/2)]$, are classified at $q$ being root of 1. New finite-dimensional irreps of $U_q[osp(1/2)]$ are found. Explicit expressions for the matrix elements are written down.
We determine the Clebsch-Gordan and Racah-Wigner coefficients for continuous series of representations of the quantum deformed algebras U_q(sl(2)) and U_q(osp(1|2)). While our results for the former algebra reproduce formulas by Ponsot and Teschner, the expressions for the orthosymplectic algebra are new. Up to some normalization factors, the associated Racah-Wigner coefficients are shown to agree with the fusing matrix in the Neveu-Schwarz sector of N=1 supersymmetric Liouville field theory.
In this paper Witten type deformation of osp(1/2) algbera is introduced and its realization and matrix representation are obtained. The matrix representation is shown to be possible only when the dimension is odd.
A bosonic operator of U_q(osp(1|2)) that anticommutes with the fermionic generators appears to be useful to describe the relations in the centre of U_q(osp(1|2)) for q a root of unity (in the unrestricted specialisation). As in the classical case, it also simplifies the classification of finite dimensional irreducible representations.
Let Uq(g) be the quantum affine superalgebra associated with an affine Kac-Moody superalgebra g which belongs to the three series osp(1|2n)^(1),sl(1|2n)^(2) and osp(2|2n)^(2). We develop vertex operator constructions for the level 1 irreducible integrable highest weight representations and classify the finite dimensional irreducible representations of Uq(g). This makes essential use of the Drinfeld realisation for Uq(g), and quantum correspondences between affine Kac-Moody superalgebras, developed in earlier papers.
Representations of the quantum superalgebra U_q[osp(1/2)] and their relations to the basic hypergeometric functions are investigated. We first establish Clebsch-Gordan decomposition for the superalgebra U_q[osp(1/2)] in which the representations having no classical counterparts are incorporated. Formulae for these Clebsch-Gordan coefficients are derived, and it is observed that they may be expressed in terms of the $Q$-Hahn polynomials. We next investigate representations of the quantum supergroup OSp_q(1/2) which are not well-defined in the classical limit. Employing the universal T-matrix, t…
The quantum supergroup OSPq(1|2n) is studied systematically. A Haar functional is constructed, and an algebraic version of the Peter - Weyl theory is extended to this quantum supergroup. Quantum homogeneous superspaces and quantum homogeneous supervector bundles are defined following the strategy of Connes' theory. Parabolic induction is developed by employing the quantum homogeneous supervector bundles. Quantum Frobenius reciprocity and a generalized Borel - Weil theorem are established for the induced representations.
We analyse the Witten-Woronowicz's type deformations of the Lie superalgebra osp(2,2) and obtain a deformation parametrized by three independent parameters. For some of these algebras, finite dimensional representations are formulated in terms of a finite difference operator, providing operators that are relevant for the classification of quasi exactly solvable, finite difference equations. Similar representations are also pointed out for the Lie superalgebra osp(1,2).
The polynomial deformations of the Witten extensions of the U(su(2)) and U(osp(1,2)) algebras are three generator algebras with normal ordering, admitting a two generator subalgebra. The modules and the representations of these algebras are based on the construction of Verma modules, which are quotient modules, generated by ideals of the original algebra. This construction unifies a large number of the known algebras under the same scheme. The finite dimensional representations show new features such as the multiplicity of representations of the same dimensionality, or the existence of finite …
Using a unified and systematic scheme, the free field realization of irreducible representations of osp(2|2) is constructed. By using these realization, the correlation functions of N=2 super-conformal model based on osp(2|2) symmetry and free field representation of ${\hat{osp(2|2)}}$ generators are calculated. Free field representation of currents are used to determine the stress-energy tensor and the central charge of the model.
It is shown that the Clifford superalgebra Cl(n|m) generated by m pairs of Bose operators (odd elements) anticommuting with n pairs of Fermi operators (even elements) can be deformed to Cl_q(n|m) such that the latter is a homomorphic image of the quantum superalgebra U_q[osp(2n+1|2m)]. The Fock space F(n|m) of Cl_q(n|m) is constructed. At q being a root of unity (q=\exp ({iπl/k})) q-bosons (and q-fermions) are operators acting in a finite-dimensional subspace F_{l/k}(n|m) of F(n|m). Each F_{l/k}(n|m) is turned through the above mentioned homomorphism into an irreducible (root of unity) U_q[osp…
New solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation, depending in general on three arbitrary parameters, are written down. They are based on the root of unity representations of the quantum orthosymplectic superalgebra \\U, which were found recently. Representations of the braid group $B_N$ are defined within any $N^{th}$ tensorial power of root of 1 \\U modules.
The purpose of this work is to illustrate in a family of interesting examples how to study the representation theory of vertex operator superalgebras by combining the theory of vertex algebra extensions and modular forms. Let $L_k\left(\mathfrak{osp}(1 | 2)\right)$ be the simple affine vertex operator superalgebra of $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$ at an admissible level $k$. We use a Jacobi form decomposition to see that this is a vertex operator superalgebra extension of $L_k(\mathfrak{sl}_2)\otimes \text{Vir}(p, (p+p')/2)$ where $k+3/2=p/(2p')$ and $\text{Vir}(u, v)$ denotes the regular Virasoro vert…
Representations of quantum superalgebras provide a natural framework in which to model supersymmetric quantum systems. Each quantum superalgebra, belonging to the class of quasi-triangular Hopf superalgebras, contains a universal R-matrix which automatically satisfies the Yang--Baxter equation. Applying the vector representation, which acts on the vector module V, to the left-hand side of a universal R-matrix gives a Lax operator. In this Communication a Lax operator is constructed for the quantised orthosymplectic superalgebras U_q[osp(m|n)] for all m > 2, n >\geq 0 where n is even. This can …
The minimal irreducible representations of $U_q[gl(m|n)]$, i.e. those irreducible representations that are also irreducible under $U_q[osp(m|n)]$ are investigated and shown to be affinizable to give irreducible representations of the twisted quantum affine superalgebra $U_q[gl(m|n)^{(2)}]$. The $U_q[osp(m|n)]$ invariant R-matrices corresponding to the tensor product of any two minimal representations are constructed, thus extending our twisted tensor product graph method to the supersymmetric case. These give new solutions to the spectral-dependent graded Yang-Baxter equation arising from $U_q…
Lickorish's method for constructing topological invariants of 3 - manifolds is generalized to the quantum supergroup setting. An invariant is obtained by applying this method to the Kauffman polynomial arising from the vector representation of Uq(osp(1|2)). A transparent proof is also given showing that this invariant is equivalent to the Uq(osp(1|2)) invariant obtained in an earlier publication.
We describe the twisted affine superalgebra $sl(2|2)^{(2)}$ and its quantized version $U_q[sl(2|2)^{(2)}]$. We investigate the tensor product representation of the 4-dimensional grade star representation for the fixed point subsuperalgebra $U_q[osp(2|2)]$. We work out the tensor product decomposition explicitly and find the decomposition is not completely reducible. Associated with this 4-dimensional grade star representation we derive two $U_q[osp(2|2)]$ invariant R-matrices: one of them corresponds to $U_q[sl(2|2)^{(2)}]$ and the other to $U_q[osp(2|2)^{(1)}]$. Using the R-matrix for $U_q[sl…
Drinfeld realisations are constructed for the quantum affine superalgebras of the series ${\rm\mathfrak{osp}}(1|2n)^{(1)}$,${\rm\mathfrak{sl}}(1|2n)^{(2)}$ and ${\rm\mathfrak{osp}}(2|2n)^{(2)}$. By using the realisations, we develop vertex operator representations and classify the finite dimensional irreducible representations for these quantum affine superalgebras.
Each quantum superalgebra is a quasi-triangular Hopf superalgebra, so contains a \textit{universal $R$-matrix} in the tensor product algebra which satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation. Applying the vector representation $π$, which acts on the vector module $V$, to one side of a universal $R$-matrix gives a Lax operator. In this paper a Lax operator is constructed for the $C$-type quantum superalgebras $U_q[osp(2|n)]$. This can in turn be used to find a solution to the Yang-Baxter equation acting on $V \otimes V \otimes W$ where $W$ is an arbitrary $U_q[osp(2|n)]$ module. The case $W=V$ is includ…
The general method of Reshetikhin and Turaev is followed to develop topological invariants of closed, connected, orientable 3-manifolds from a new class of algebras called pseudo-modular Hopf algebras. Pseudo-modular Hopf algebras are a class of Z_2-graded ribbon Hopf algebras that generalise the concept of a modular Hopf algebra. The quantum superalgebra U_q(osp(1|2n)) over C is considered with q a primitive N^th root of unity for all integers N >= 3. For such a q, a certain left ideal I of U_q(osp(1|2n)) is also a two-sided Hopf ideal, and the quotient algebra U_q^(N)(osp(1|2n)) = U_q(osp(1|…
A 2-toroidal Lie superalgebra is constructed using bosonic fields and a ghost field. The superalgebra contains $osp(1|2n)^{(1)}$ as a distinguished subalgebra and behaves similarly to the toroidal Lie superalgebra of type $B(0, n)$. Furthermore this algebra is a central extension of the algebra $osp(1|2n)\otimes \mathbb C[s, s^{-1}, t,t^{-1}]$.
The integrable structure of the two dimensional superconformal field theory is considered. The classical counterpart of our constructions is based on the $\hat{osp}(1|2)$ super-KdV hierarchy. The quantum version of the monodromy matrix associated with the linear problem for the corresponding L-operator is introduced. Using the explicit form of the irreducible representations of $\hat{osp}_q(1|2)$, the so-called "fusion relations" for the transfer matrices considered in different representations of $\hat{osp}_q(1|2)$ are obtained. The possible integrable perturbations of the model (primary oper…
Let $L$ be a link and $Φ^{A}_{L}(q)$ its link invariant associated with the vector representation of the quantum (super)algebra $U_{q}(A)$. Let $F_{L}(r,s)$ be the Kauffman link invariant for $L$ associated with the Birman--Wenzl--Murakami algebra $BWM_{f}(r,s)$ for complex parameters $r$ and $s$ and a sufficiently large rank $f$. For an arbitrary link $L$, we show that $Φ^{osp(1|2n)}_{L}(q) = F_{L}(-q^{2n},q)$ and $Φ^{so(2n+1)}_{L}(-q) = F_{L}(q^{2n},-q)$ for each positive integer $n$ and all sufficiently large $f$, and that $Φ^{osp(1|2n)}_{L}(q)$ and $Φ^{so(2n+1)}_{L}(-q)$ are identical up t…
The Drinfeld twist is applyed to deforme the rank one orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $osp(1|2)$. The twist element is the same as for the $sl(2)$ Lie algebra due to the embedding of the $sl(2)$ into the superalgebra $osp(1|2)$. The R-matrix has the direct sum structure in the irreducible representations of $osp(1|2)$. The dual quantum group is defined using the FRT-formalism. It includes the Jordanian quantum group $SL_ξ(2)$ as subalgebra and Grassmann generators as well.
In this paper we study the Fock representation of a certain $*$-algebra which appears naturally in the framework of quantum group theory. It is also a generalization of the twisted CCR-algebra introduced by W. Pusz and S.~Woronowicz. We prove that the Fock representation is a faithful irreducible representation of the algebra by bounded operators in a Hilbert space, and, moreover, it is the only (up to unitary equivalence) representation possessing these properties. Keywords and phrases: Fock representation, quantum groups, bounded symmetric domain, non-compact Hermitian symmetric spaces
We construct the Fock space representations for the quantum affine algebra of type $C_2^{(1)}$ in terms of Young walls. Using this construction, we give a generalized Lascoux-Leclerc-Thibon algorithm for computing the global bases of the basic representations.
We construct the Fock space representations of classical quantum affine algebras using combinatorics of Young walls. We also show that the crystal graphs of the Fock space representations can be realized as the abstract crystal consisting of proper Young walls. Finally, we give a generalized version of Lascoux-Leclerc-Thibon algorithm for computing the global bases of the basic representations of classical quantum affine algebras.
Two restricted $C[q,q^{-1}]-$forms of the well known q-boson algebra are introduced and the corresponding restricted q-Fock spaces defined. All of the irreducible highest weight representations, including the infinite dimensional ones, of $U_ε^{res}(sl_2)$ of type 1 are constructed through the restricted q-Fock spaces.
We consider $C^*$-algebra $Isom_{q_{ij}}$ generated by $n$ isometries $a_1, \ldots, a_n$ satisfying the relations $a_i^* a_j = q_{ij} a_j a_i^*$ with $\max |q_{ij}| < 1$. This $C^*$-algebra is shown to be nuclear. We prove that the Fock representation of $Isom_{q_{ij}}$ is faithful. Further we describe an ideal in $Isom_{q_{ij}}$ which is isomorphic to the algebra of compact operators.
We describe the Fock space representations and crystal bases for the affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra of type $C_n^{(1)}$ in terms of coloured Young diagrams.
We prove that Bargmann representations exist for some deformed harmonic oscillators that admit non-Fock representations. In specific cases, we explicitly obtain the resolution of the identity in terms of a true integral on the complex plane. We prove on explicit examples that Bargmann representations cannot always be found, particularly when the coherent states do not exist in the whole complex plane.
We construct and study in detail various dual pairs acting on some Fock representations between a finite dimensional Lie group and a completed infinite rank affine algebra associated to an infinite affine Cartan matrix. We give explicit decompositions of a Fock representation into a direct sum of irreducible isotypic subspaces with respect to the action of a dual pair, present explicit formulas for the common highest weight vectors and calculate the corresponding highest weights. We further outline applications of these dual pairs to the study of tensor products of modules of such an infinite …
We use the Fock space representation of the quantum affine algebra of type $A^{(2)}_{2n}$ to obtain a description of the global crystal basis of its basic level 1 module. We formulate a conjecture relating this basis to decomposition matrices of spin symmetric groups in characteristic $2n+1$.
A complete Fock space representation of the covariant differential calculus on quantum space is constructed. The consistency criteria for the ensuing algebraic structure, mapping to the canonical fermions and bosons and the consequences of the new algebra for the statistics of quanta are analyzed and discussed. The concept of statistical transmutation between bosons and fermions is introduced.
A description of the quantum superalgebra U_q[sl(n+1|m)] via creation and annihilation generators (CAGs) is given. A statement that the Fock representations of the CAGs provide microscopic realizations of exclusion statistics is formulated.
In this paper we consider the possibility of application of the quantum inverse scattering method for studying the superconformal field theory and it's integrable perturbations. The classical limit of the considered constructions is based on $\hat{osp}(1|2)$ super-KdV hierarchy. The quantum counterpart of the monodromy matrix corresponding to the linear problem associated with the L-operator is introduced. Using the explicit form of the irreducible representations of $\hat{osp}_q(1|2)$, the ``fusion relations'' for the transfer-matrices (i.e. the traces of the monodromy matrices in different r…
We study infinite dimensional generalisations of the Heisenberg doubles of the Borel half of $U_q(sl(2))$ and of $U_q(osp(1|2))$ and find associated canonical elements which satisfy pentagon equation. The former reproduces the canonical element, expressed using the Faddeev's quantum dilogarithm, which has been found by Kashaev to be realised within quantised Teichmüller theory, while for the latter we show that it corresponds to an operator from quantised super Teichmüller theory. We study infinite dimensional representations of those two Heisenberg doubles and, using an algebra homomorphism b…
