The general rational solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with the symmetry algebra sl(2) can be represented as the product of the simpler building blocks denoted as R-operators. The R-operators are constructed explicitly and have simple structure. Using the R-operators we construct the two-parametric Baxter's Q-operator for the generic inhomogeneous periodic XXX spin chain. In the case of homogeneous XXX spin chain it is possible to reduce the general Q-operator to the much simpler one-parametric operator.
We construct Baxter operators as generalized transfer matrices being traces of products of generic $R$ matrices. The latter are shown to factorize into simpler operators allowing for explicit expressions in terms of functions of a Weyl pair of basic operators. These explicit expressions are the basis for explicit expression for Baxter Q-operators and for investigating their properties.
We consider the `universal monodrimy operators' for the Baxter Q-operators. They are given as images of the universal R-matrix in oscillator representation. We find related universal factorization formulas in $U_{q}(\hat{sl}(2))$ case.
We study the rational solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with the supersymmetry algebra sl(2|1). The R-matrix acting in the tensor product of two arbitrary representations of the supersymmetry algebra can be represented as the product of the simpler "building blocks". We construct in a such way the general rational solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with the supersymmetry algebra sl(2|1).
We study the general rational solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with the symmetry algebra sl(3). The R-matrix acting in the tensor product of two arbitrary representations of the symmetry algebra can be represented as the product of the simpler operator -- "building blocks". These operators are constructed explicitly and have simple structure. We construct in a such way the general rational solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with the symmetry algebra sl(3). To illustrate the factorization in the simplest situation we treat also the the sl(2) case.
New set-theoretical solutions to the Yang-Baxter Relation are constructed. These solutions arise from the decompositions "in different order" of matrix polynomials and $θ$-functions. We also construct a "local action of the symmetric group" in these cases, generalizations of the action of the symmetric group $S_N$ given by the set-theoretical solution.
In this paper, we obtain a canonical factorization of basis elements in free Rota-Baxter algebras built on bracketed words. This canonical factorization is applied to give a coalgebra structure on the free Rota-Baxter algebras. Together with the Rota-Baxter algebra multiplication, this coproduct gives a bialgebra structure on the free Rota-Baxter algebra of rooted forests. When the weight of the Rota-Baxter algebra is zero, we further obtain a Hopf algebra structure.
Braid matrices $\hat{R}(θ)$, corresponding to vector representations, are spectrally decomposed obtaining a ratio $f_{i}(θ)/f_{i}(-θ)$ for the coefficient of each projector $P_{i}$ appearing in the decomposition. This directly yields a factorization $(F(-θ))^{-1}F(θ)$ for the braid matrix, implying also the relation $\hat{R}(-θ)\hat{R}(θ)=I$.This is achieved for $GL_{q}(n),SO_{q}(2n+1),SO_{q}(2n),Sp_{q}(2n)$ for all $n$ and also for various other interesting cases including the 8-vertex matrix. We explain how the limits $θ\to \pm \infty$ can be interpreted to provide factorizations of the stand…
Based on recent results obtained by the authors on the inverse scattering method of the vector nonlinear Schrödinger equation with integrable boundary conditions, we discuss the factorization of the interactions of N-soliton solutions on the half-line. Using dressing transformations combined with a mirror image technique, factorization of soliton-soliton and soliton-boundary interactions is proved. We discover a new object, which we call reflection map, that satisfies a set-theoretical reflection equation which we also introduce. Two classes of solutions for the reflection map are constructed.…
Baxter operators are constructed for quantum spin chains with deformed $s\ell_2$ symmetry. The parallel treatment of Yang-Baxter operators for the cases of undeformed, trigonometrically and elliptically deformed symmetries presented earlier and relying on the factorization regarding parameter permutations is extended to the global chain operators following the scheme worked out recently in the undeformed case.
The generalization of the the Yang-Baxter relation is proposed. In this generalization the spectral parameters of the particles change after the scattering. The corresponding algebraic structures are discussed. The corresponding action of the symmetric group is studied. The most interesting examples of such action are connected with factorization of matrix polynomials and matrix $theta$-functions. The generalization of the star-triangle relation is also proposed.
In this letter we construct ${\rm GL}_{NM}$-valued dynamical $R$-matrix by means of unitary skew-symmetric solution of the associative Yang-Baxter equation in the fundamental representation of ${\rm GL}_{N}$. In $N=1$ case the obtained answer reproduces the ${\rm GL}_{M}$-valued Felder's $R$-matrix, while in the $M=1$ case it provides the ${\rm GL}_{N}$ $R$-matrix of vertex type including the Baxter-Belavin's elliptic one and its degenerations.
This paper first introduces the notion of a Rota-Baxter operator (of weight $1$) on a Lie group so that its differentiation gives a Rota-Baxter operator on the corresponding Lie algebra. Direct products of Lie groups, including the decompositions of Iwasawa and Langlands, carry natural Rota-Baxter operators. Formal inverse of the Rota-Baxter operator on a Lie group is precisely the crossed homomorphism on the Lie group, whose tangent map is the differential operator of weight $1$ on a Lie algebra. A factorization theorem of Rota-Baxter Lie groups is proved, deriving directly on the Lie group l…
A generalization of the Yang-Baxter algebra is found in quantizing the monodromy matrix of two (m)KdV equations discretized on a space lattice. This braided Yang-Baxter equation still ensures that the transfer matrix generates operators in involution which form the Cartan sub-algebra of the braided quantum group. Representations diagonalizing these operators are described through relying on an easy generalization of Algebraic Bethe Ansatz techniques. The conjecture that this monodromy matrix algebra leads, {\it in the cylinder continuum limit}, to a Perturbed Minimal Conformal Field Theory des…
A general functional definition of the infinite dimensional quantum $R$-matrix satisfying the Yang-Baxter equation is given. A procedure for the extracting a finite dimensional $R$-matrix from the general definition is demonstrated in a particular case when the group $SU(2)$ takes place.
The problem of constructing the $SL(N,\mathbb{C})$ invariant solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation is considered. The solutions ($\mathcal{R}$-operators) for arbitrarily principal series representations of $SL(N,\mathbb{C})$ are obtained in an explicit form. We construct the commutative family of the operators $\mathcal{Q}_k(u)$ which can be identified with the Baxter operators for the noncompact $SL(N,\mathbb{C})$ spin magnet.
For any quasi-triangular Hopf algebra, there exists the universal R-matrix, which satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation. It is known that the adjoint action of the universal R-matrix on the elements of the tensor square of the algebra constitutes a quantum Yang-Baxter map, which satisfies the set-theoretic Yang-Baxter equation. The map has a zero curvature representation among L-operators defined as images of the universal R-matrix. We find that the zero curvature representation can be solved by the Gauss decomposition of a product of L-operators. Thereby obtained a quasi-determinant expression o…
In this paper we propose versions of the associative Yang-Baxter equation and higher order $R$-matrix identities which can be applied to quantum dynamical $R$-matrices. As is known quantum non-dynamical $R$-matrices of Baxter-Belavin type satisfy this equation. Together with unitarity condition and skew-symmetry it provides the quantum Yang-Baxter equation and a set of identities useful for different applications in integrable systems. The dynamical $R$-matrices satisfy the Gervais-Neveu-Felder (or dynamical Yang-Baxter) equation. Relation between the dynamical and non-dynamical cases is descr…
For quantum integrable models with elliptic R-matrix, we construct the Baxter Q-operator in infinite-dimensional representations of the algebra of observables.
We propose a new generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation, where the R-matrix depends on cluster $y$-variables in addition to the spectral parameters. We point out that we can construct solutions to this new equation from the recently-found correspondence between Yang-Baxter equations and supersymmetric gauge theories. The $S^2$ partition function of a certain 2d $\mathcal{N}=(2,2)$ quiver gauge theory gives an R-matrix, whereas its FI parameters can be identified with the cluster $y$-variables.
Let $R$ be a Hecke solution to the Yang-Baxter equation and $K$ be a reflection equation matrix with coefficients in an associative algebra $\A$. Let $R(x)$ be the baxterization of $R$ and suppose that $K$ satisfies a polynomial equation with coefficients in the center of $\A$. We construct solutions to the reflection equation with spectral parameter relative to $R(x)$, in the form of polynomials in $K$.
The supersymmetry invariant integrable structure of two-dimensional superconformal field theory is considered. The classical limit of the corresponding infinite family of integrals of motion (IM) coincide with the family of IM of SUSY N=1 KdV hierarchy. The quantum version of the monodromy matrix, generating quantum IM, associated with the SUSY N=1 KdV is constructed via vertex operator representation of the quantum R-matrix. The possible applications to the perturbed superconformal models are discussed.
We develop notions of Rota-Baxter structures and associated Birkhoff factorizations, in the context of min-plus semirings and their thermodynamic deformations, including deformations arising from quantum information measures such as the von Neumann entropy. We consider examples related to Manin's renormalization and computation program, to Markov random fields and to counting functions and zeta functions of algebraic varieties.
We consider irreducible cyclic representations of the algebra of monodromy matrices corresponding to the R-matrix of the six-vertex model. In roots of unity the Baxter Q-operator can be represented as a trace of a tensor product of L-operators corresponding to one of these cyclic representations and satisfies the TQ-equation. We find a new algebraic structure generated by these L-operators and, as a consequence, by the Q-operators.
The matrix elements of the $2\times 2$ fusion of Baxter's elliptic $R$-matrix, $R^{(2,2)}(u)$, are given explicitly. Based on a note by Jimbo, we give a formula which show that $R^{(2,2)}(u)$ is gauge equivalent to Fateev's $R$-matrix for the 21-vertex model. Then the crossing symmetry formula for $R^{(2,2)}(u)$ is derived. We also consider the fusion of the vertex-face correspondence relation and derive a crossing symmetry relation between the fusion of the intertwining vectors and their dual vectors.
A coloured braid group representation (CBGR) is constructed with the help of some modified universal ${\cal R}$-matrix, associated to $U_q(gl(2))$ quantised algebra. Explicit realisation of Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan (FRT) algebra is built up for this CBGR and new solutions of quantum Yang-Baxter equation are subsequently found through Yang-Baxterisation of FRT algebra. These solutions are interestingly related to nonadditive type quantum $R$-matrix and have a nontrivial $q\rightarrow 1$ limit. Lax operators of several concrete integrable models, which may be considered as some `coloured' e…
Given an associative multiplication in matrix algebra compatible with the usual one or, in other words, linear deformation of matrix algebra, we construct a solution to the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We also develop a theory of such deformations and construct numerous examples. It turns out that these deformations are in one-to-one correspondence with representations of certain algebraic structures, which we call M-structures. We also describe an important class of M-structures related to the affine Dynkin diagrams of A, D, E-type. These M-structures and their representations are describe…
In this paper a class of new quantum groups is presented: deformed Yangians. They arise from rational solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation of the form $c_2 /u + const$ . The universal quantum $R$-matrix for a deformed Yangian is described. Its image in finite-dimensional representaions of the Yangian gives new matrix rational solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation (YBE).
Based on properties of the universal R-matrix, we derive universal Baxter TQ-relations for quantum integrable systems with (diagonal) open boundaries associated with $U_{q}(\widehat{sl_{2}})$. The Baxter TQ-relations for the open XXZ-spin chain are images of these universal Baxter TQ-relations.
In this paper we consider dynamical r-matrices over a nonabelian base. There are two main results. First, corresponding to a fat reductive decomposition of a Lie algebra $\frakg =\frakh \oplus \frakm$, we construct geometrically a non-degenerate triangular dynamical r-matrix using symplectic fibrations. Second, we prove that a triangular dynamical r-matrix $r: \frakh^* \lon \wedge^2 \frakg$ corresponds to a Poisson manifold $\frakh^* \times G$. A special type of quantizations of this Poisson manifold, called compatible star products in this paper, yields a generalized version of the quantum dy…
The hierarchy of commuting maps related to a set-theoretical solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (Yang-Baxter map) is introduced. They can be considered as dynamical analogues of the monodromy and/or transfer-matrices. The general scheme of producing Yang-Baxter maps based on matrix factorisation is discussed in the context of the integrability problem for the corresponding dynamical systems. Some examples of birational Yang-Baxter maps coming from the theory of the periodic dressing chain and matrix KdV equation are discussed.
We consider Yang-Baxter equations arising from its associative analog and study corresponding exchange relations. They generate finite-dimensional quantum algebras which have form of coupled ${\rm GL}(N)$ Sklyanin elliptic algebras. Then we proceed to a natural generalization of the Baxter-Belavin quantum $R$-matrix to the case ${\rm Mat}(N,\mathbb C)^{\otimes 2}\otimes {\rm Mat}(M,\mathbb C)^{\otimes 2}$. It can be viewed as symmetric form of ${\rm GL}(NM)$ $R$-matrix in the sense that the Planck constant and the spectral parameter enter (almost) symmetrically. Such type (symmetric) $R$-matri…
A review of some recent results on the dynamical theory of the Yang-Baxter maps (also known as set-theoretical solutions to the quantum Yang-Baxter equation) is given. The central question is the integrability of the transfer dynamics. The relations with matrix factorisations, matrix KdV solitons, Poisson Lie groups, geometric crystals and tropical combinatorics are discussed and demonstrated on several concrete examples.
We will give new applications of quantum groups to the study of spherical Whittaker functions on the metaplectic $n$-fold cover of $GL(r,F)$, where $F$ is a nonarchimedean local field. Earlier Brubaker, Bump, Friedberg, Chinta and Gunnells had shown that these Whittaker functions can be identified with the partition functions of statistical mechanical systems. They postulated that a Yang-Baxter equation underlies the properties of these Whittaker functions. We confirm this, and identify the corresponding Yang-Baxter equation with that of the quantum affine Lie superalgebra $U_{\sqrt{v}}(\wideh…
In this paper we review the theory of the Yang-Baxter equation related to the 6-vertex model and its higher spin generalizations. We employ a 3D approach to the problem. Starting with the 3D R-matrix, we consider a two-layer projection of the corresponding 3D lattice model. As a result, we obtain a new expression for the higher spin $R$-matrix associated with the affine quantum algebra $U_q(\widehat{sl(2)})$. In the simplest case of the spin $s=1/2$ this $R$-matrix naturally reduces to the $R$-matrix of the 6-vertex model. Taking a special limit in our construction we also obtain new formulas …
We obtain an R-matrix or matrix representation of the Artin braid group acting in a canonical way on the vector space of every (super)-Lie algebra or braided-Lie algebra. The same result applies for every (super)-Hopf algebra or braided-Hopf algebra. We recover some known representations such as those associated to racks. We also obtain new representations such as a non-trivial one on the ring $k[x]$ of polynomials in one variable, regarded as a braided-line. Representations of the extended Artin braid group for braids in the complement of $S^1$ are also obtained by the same method.
For any algebra two families of coloured Yang-Baxter operators are constructed, thus producing solutions to the two-parameter quantum Yang-Baxter equation. An open problem about a system of functional equations is stated. The matrix forms of these operators for two and three dimensional algebras are computed. A FRT bialgebra for one of these families is presented. Solutions for the one-parameter quantum Yang-Baxter equation are derived and a Yang-Baxter system constructed.
Every unitary solution of the Yang-Baxter equation (R-matrix) in dimension $d$ can be viewed as a unitary element of the Cuntz algebra ${\mathcal O}_d$ and as such defines an endomorphism of ${\mathcal O}_d$. These Yang-Baxter endomorphisms restrict and extend to endomorphisms of several other $C^*$- and von Neumann algebras and furthermore define a II$_1$ factor associated with an extremal character of the infinite braid group. This paper is devoted to a detailed study of such Yang-Baxter endomorphisms. Among the topics discussed are characterizations of Yang-Baxter endomorphisms and the rela…
A new construction method of $R$-matrix is given. Let $A$ be a C$^{*}$-bialgebra with a comultiplication $Δ$. For two states $ω$ and $ψ$ of $A$ which satisfy certain conditions, we construct a unitary $R$-matrix $R(ω,ψ)$ of the C$^{*}$-bialgebra $(A,Δ)$ on the tensor product of GNS representation spaces associated with $ω$ and $ψ$. The set $\{R(ω,ψ):ω,ψ\}$ satisfies a kind of Yang-Baxter equation. Furthermore, we show a nontrivial example of such $R$-matrices for a non-quasi-cocommutative C$^{*}$-bialgebra.
In this paper we propose algebraic universal procedure for deriving "fusion rules" and Baxter equation for any integrable model with $U_q(\widehat{sl}_2)$ symmetry of Quantum Inverse Scattering Method. Universal Baxter Q- operator is got from the certain infinite dimensional representation called q-oscillator one of the Universal R- matrix for $U_q(\widehat{sl}_2)$ affine algebra (first proposed by V. Bazhanov, S.Lukyanov and A.Zamolodchikov for quantum KdV case). We also examine the algebraic properties of Q-operator.
We consider finite-dimensional reductions of an integral operator with the elliptic hypergeometric kernel describing the most general known solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with a rank 1 symmetry algebra. The reduced R-operators reproduce at their bottom the standard Baxter's R-matrix for the 8-vertex model and Sklyanin's L-operator. The general formula has a remarkably compact form and yields new elliptic solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation based on the finite-dimensional representations of the elliptic modular double. The same result is also derived using the fusion formalism.
The ice Ansatz on matrix solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation is weakened to a condition which we call rime. Generic rime solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation are described. We prove that the rime non-unitary (respectively, unitary) R-matrix is equivalent to the Cremmer-Gervais (respectively, boundary Cremmer-Gervais) solution. Generic rime classical r-matices satisfy the (non-)homogeneous associative classical Yang-Baxter equation.
We study permutation type solutions to n-simplex equations, that is, solutions whose R matrix can be written as a product of delta- functions depending linearly on the indices. With this ansatz the D^{n(n+1)} equations of the n-simplex equation reduce to an [n(n+1)/2+1]x[n(n+1)/2+1] matrix equation over Z_D. We have completely analyzed the 2-, 3- and 4-simplex equations in the generic D case. The solutions show interesting patterns that seem to continue to still higher simplex equations.
For every pair of positive coprime integers, m and n, with m<n, there is an associated generalized Cremmer-Gervais r-matrix r_{m,n} for the Lie algebra sl_n which provides a nonstandard quasitriangular solution to the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We give an interpretation of r_{n-2,n} (for n odd) in terms of differential-Dunkl operators related to the polynomial representation of dihedral-type rational Cherednik algebras. Finally, we use this interpretation to partially answer a conjecture of Gerstenhaber and Giaquinto concerning boundary solutions to the classical Yang-Baxter equation.
Yang-Baxter R operators symmetric with respect to the orthogonal and symplectic algebras are considered in an uniform way. Explicit forms for the spinorial and metaplectic R operators are obtained. L operators, obeying the RLL relation with the orthogonal or symplectic fundamental R matrix, are considered in the interesting cases, where their expansion in inverse powers of the spectral parameter is truncated. Unlike the case of special linear algebra symmetry the truncation results in additional conditions on the Lie algebra generators of which the L operators is built and which can be fulfill…
A family of nonparametric Yang Baxter (YB) maps is constructed by refactorization of the product of two 2 by 2 matrix polynomials of first degree. These maps are Poisson with respect to the Sklyanin bracket. For each Casimir function a parametric Poisson YB map is generated by reduction on the corresponding level set. By considering a complete set of Casimir functions symplectic multiparametric YB maps are derived. These maps are quadrirational with explicit formulae in terms of matrix operations. Their Lax matrices are, by construction, 2 by 2 first degree polynomial in the spectral parameter…
For the last fifteen years quantum superalgebras have been used to model supersymmetric quantum systems. A class of quasi-triangular Hopf superalgebras, they each contain a universal $R$-matrix, which automatically satisfies the Yang--Baxter equation. Applying the vector representation to the left-hand side of a universal $R$-matrix gives a Lax operator. These are of significant interest in mathematical physics as they provide solutions to the Yang--Baxter equation in an arbitrary representation, which give rise to integrable models. In this thesis a Lax operator is constructed for the quantis…
An $n\times n$ matrix $M=[m_{ij}]$ with $m_{ij}\in U_n=\{1,2,\ldots,n\}$ will be called a cycle matrix if $(U_n,\cdot)$ is a cycle set, where $i\cdot j=m_{ij}$. We study these matrices in this article. Using these matrices, we give some recipes to construct solutions, which include the multipermutation level $2$ solutions. As an application of these, we construct a multi-permutation solution of level $r$ for all $r\geq 1$. Our method gives alternate proof that the class of permutation groups of solutions contains all finite abelian groups.
