In this paper we apply a method devised in \cite{HartLarsSilv1D,LarsSilv1D} to the three-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\sll$. One of the main points of this deformation method is that the deformed algebra comes endowed with a canonical twisted Jacobi identity. We show in the present paper that when our deformation scheme is applied to $\sll$ we can, by choosing parameters suitably, deform $\sll$ into the Heisenberg Lie algebra and some other three-dimensional Lie algebras in addition to more exotic types of algebras, this being in stark contrast to the classical deformation schemes where $\sll$ is rigid. The resulting algebras are quadratic and we point out possible connections to ``geometric quadratic algebras'' such as the Artin--Schelter regular algebras, studied extensively since the beginning of the 90's in connection with non-commutative projective geometry.
Hartwig, Larsson and the second author in [J. Algebra, 2005] defined a bracket on sigma-derivations of a commutative algebra. We show that this bracket preserves inner derivations, and based on this obtain some structural results on sigma-derivations on Laurent polynomials in one variable.
In this paper, we determine the derivation algebra and automorphism group of the twisted N=2 superconformal algebra. Then we generalize the relative results to the generalized twisted N=2 superconformal algebra in the final section.
Non-commutative connections of the second type or hom-connections and associated integral forms are studied as generalisations of right connections of Manin. First, it is proven that the existence of hom-connections with respect to the universal differential graded algebra is tantamount to the injectivity, and that every finitely cogenerated injective module admits a hom-connection with respect to any differential graded algebra. The bulk of the paper is devoted to describing a method of constructing hom-connections from twisted multi-derivations. The notion of a free twisted multi-derivation …
2-local derivation is a generalized derivation for a Lie algebra, which plays an important role to the study of local properties of the structure of the Lie algebra. In this paper, we prove that every 2-local derivation on the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra is a derivation.
We obtain deformations of a crossed product of a polynomial algebra with a group, under some conditions, from universal deformation formulas. We show that the resulting deformations are nontrivial by a comparison with Hochschild cohomology. The universal deformation formulas arise from actions of Hopf algebras generated by automorphisms and skew derivations, and are universal in the sense that they apply to deform all algebras with such Hopf algebra actions.
We study $(σ,τ)$-derivations of a group ring $RG$ where $G$ is a group with center having finite index in $G$ and $R$ is a semiprime ring with $1$ such that either $R$ has no torsion elements or that if $R$ has $p$-torsion elements, then $p$ does not divide the order of $G$ and let $σ,τ$ be $R$-linear endomorphisms of $RG$ fixing the center of $RG$ pointwise. We generalize Main Theorem $1.1$ of \cite{Chau-19} and prove that there is a ring $T\supset R$ such that $\mathcal{Z}(T)\supset\mathcal{Z}(R)$ and that for the natural extensions of $σ, τ$ to $TG$ we get $H^1(TG,{}_σTG_τ)=0$, where ${}_σT…
We consider algebras defined from quivers with relations that are k-th order derivations of a superpotential, generalizing results of Dubois-Violette to the quiver case. We give a construction compatible with Morita equivalence, and show that many important algebras arise in this way, including McKay correspondence algebras for GL_n for all n, and four-dimensional Sklyanin algebras. More generally, we show that any N-Koszul, (twisted) Calabi-Yau algebra must have a (twisted) superpotential, and construct its minimal resolution in terms of derivations of the (twisted) superpotential. This yield…
The aim of this paper is twofold. In the first part, we consider twisted Rota-Baxter operators on associative algebras that were introduced by Uchino as a noncommutative analogue of twisted Poisson structures. We construct an $L_\infty$-algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements are given by twisted Rota-Baxter operators. This leads to cohomology associated to a twisted Rota-Baxter operator. This cohomology can be seen as the Hochschild cohomology of a certain associative algebra with coefficients in a suitable bimodule. We study deformations of twisted Rota-Baxter operators by means of the above-de…
Let $T$ be a $δ$-Jordan Lie supertriple system. We first introduce the notions of generalized derivations and representations of $T$ and present some properties. Also, we study the low dimension cohomology and the coboundary operator of $T$, and then we investigate the deformations and Nijenhuis operators of $T$ by choosing some suitable cohomology.
The purpose of this paper is to extend the cohomology and conformal derivation theories of the classical Lie conformal algebras to Lie conformal superalgebras. Firstly, we construct the semidirect product of a Lie conformal superalgebra and its conformal module, and study derivations of this semidirect product. Secondly, we develop cohomology theory of Lie conformal superalgebras and discuss some applications to the study of deformations of Lie conformal superalgebras. Finally, we introduce generalized derivations of Lie conformal superalgebras and study their properties.
The purpose of this paper is to extend the cohomology and conformal derivation theories of the classical Lie conformal algebras to Hom-Lie conformal algebras. In this paper, we develop cohomology theory of Hom-Lie conformal algebras and discuss some applications to the study of deformations of regular Hom-Lie conformal algebras. Also, we introduce $α^k$-derivations of multiplicative Hom-Lie conformal algebras and study their properties.
In this article we develop an approach to deformations of the Witt and Virasoro algebras based on $σ$-derivations. We show that $σ$-twisted Jacobi type identity holds for generators of such deformations. For the $σ$-twisted generalization of Lie algebras modeled by this construction, we develop a theory of central extensions. We show that our approach can be used to construct new deformations of Lie algebras and their central extensions, which in particular include naturally the $q$-deformations of the Witt and Virasoro algebras associated to $q$-difference operators, providing also correspond…
Hom-bialgebras and Hom-Hopf algebras are generalizations of bialgebra and Hopf algebra structures, where associativity and coassociativity conditions are twisted by a homomorphism. The purpose of this paper is to define a Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology complex for Hom-bialgebras and then study one parameter formal deformations.
Hom-dendriform algebras are twisted analog of dendriform algebras and are splitting of hom-associative algebras. In this paper, we define a cohomology and deformation for hom-dendriform algebras. We relate this cohomology with the Hochschild-type cohomology of hom-associative algebras. We also describe similar results for the twisted analog of dendriform coalgebras.
We generalize quantum Drinfeld Hecke algebras by incorporating a 2-cocycle on the associated finite group. We identify these algebras as specializations of deformations of twisted skew group algebras, giving an explicit connection to Hochschild cohomology. We classify these algebras for diagonal actions, as well as for the symmetric groups with their natural representations. Our results show that the parameter spaces for the symmetric groups in the twisted setting is smaller than in the untwisted setting.
Higher derivations on an associative algebra generalizes higher order derivatives. We call a tuple consisting of an algebra and a higher derivation on it by an AssHDer pair. We define a cohomology for AssHDer pairs with coefficients in a representation. Next, we study central extensions, abelian extensions of AssHDer pairs and relate them to the second cohomology group with appropriate coefficients. Deformations of AssHDer pairs are also considered which are governed by the cohomology with self coefficient.
In this paper, we introduce the relevant concepts of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras and construct three classes of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras. As a generalization of the notion of derivations for $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras, we discuss the derivations of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras. In addition, the theory of one parameter formal deformation of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras is developed by choosing a suitable cohomology.
In this paper we define the so-called twisted Heisenberg superalgebras over the complex number field by adding derivations to Heisenberg superalgebras. We classify the fine gradings up to equivalence on twisted Heisenberg superalgebras and determine the Weyl groups of those gradings.
We define group-twisted Alexander-Whitney and Eilenberg-Zilber maps for converting between bimodule resolutions of skew group algebras. These algebras are the natural semidirect products recording actions of finite groups by automorphisms. The group-twisted chain maps allow us to transfer information between resolutions for use in homology theories, for example, in those governing deformation theory. We show how to translate in particular from the default (but often cumbersome) reduced bar resolution to a more convenient twisted product resolution. This provides a more universal approach to so…
We generalize Albert's twisted field construction, applying it to unital division algebras with a multiplicative norm. We give conditions for the resulting algebras to be division algebras.Four- and eight-dimensional real unital and non-unital division algebras with large derivation algebras are constructed out of Hamilton's quaternion and Cayley's octonion algebra.
In this paper, first we give the cohomologies of an $n$-Hom-Lie algebra and introduce the notion of a derivation of an $n$-Hom-Lie algebra. We show that a derivation of an $n$-Hom-Lie algebra is a $1$-cocycle with the coefficient in the adjoint representation. We also give the formula of the dual representation of a representation of an $n$-Hom-Lie algebra. Then, we study $(n-1)$-order deformation of an $n$-Hom-Lie algebra. We introduce the notion of a Hom-Nijenhuis operator, which could generate a trivial $(n-1)$-order deformation of an $n$-Hom-Lie algebra. Finally, we introduce the notion of…
We present an elementary approach in characterizing Lie polynomials in the generators $A,B$ of an algebra with a defining relation that is in the form of a deformed or twisted commutation relation $AB=σ(BA)$ where the deformation or twisting map $σ$ is a linear polynomial with a slope parameter that is not a root of unity. The class of algebras defined as such encompasses $q$-deformed Heisenberg algebras, rotation algebras, and some types of $q$-oscillator algebras whose deformation parameters are not roots of unity, and so we have a general solution for the Lie polynomial characterization pro…
In this paper we investigate Lie bialgebra structures on a twisted Schrödinger-Virasoro type algebra $\LL$. All Lie bialgebra structures on $\LL$ are triangular coboundary, which is different from the relative result on the original Schrödinger-Virasoro type Lie algebra. In particular, we find for this Lie algebra that there are more hidden inner derivations from itself to $\LL\otimes\LL$ and we develop one method to search them.
In this paper, we introduce twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators on a Leibniz algebra as a generalization of twisted Poisson structures. We define the cohomology of a twisted relative Rota-Baxter operator $K$ as the Loday-Pirashvili cohomology of a certain Leibniz algebra induced by $K$ with coefficients in a suitable representation. Then we consider formal deformations of twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators from cohomological points of view. Finally, we introduce and study NS-Leibniz algebras as the underlying structure of twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators.
We generalize graded Hecke algebras to include a twisting two-cocycle for the associated finite group. We give examples where the parameter spaces of the resulting twisted graded Hecke algebras are larger than that of the graded Hecke algebras. We prove that twisted graded Hecke algebras are particular types of deformations of a crossed product.
We give an explicit description of the Lie algebra of derivations for a class of infinite dimensional algebras which are given by étale descent. The algebras under consideration are twisted forms of central algebras over rings, and include the multiloop algebras that appear in the construction of extended affine Lie algebras.
We study étale descent of derivations of algebras with values in a module. The algebras under consideration are twisted forms of algebras over rings, and apply to all classes of algebras, notably associative and Lie algebras, such as the multiloop algebras that appear in the construction of extended affine Lie algebras.
Some features of Cayley algebras (or algebras of octonions) and their Lie algebras of derivations over fields of low characteristic are presented. More specifically, over fields of characteristic $7$, explicit embeddings of any twisted form of the Witt algebra into the simple split Lie algebra of type $G_2$ are given. Over fields of characteristic $3$, even though the Lie algebra of derivations of a Cayley algebra is not simple, it is shown that still two Cayley algebras are isomorphic if and only if their Lie algebras of derivations are isomorphic. Finally, over fields of characteristic $2$, …
The purpose of this paper is to introduce twisted $\mathcal{O}$-operators on $3$-Lie algebras. We define a cohomology of a twisted $\mathcal{O}$-operator $T$ as the Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology of a certain $3$-Lie algebra induced by $T$ with coefficients in a suitable representation. Then we consider infinitesimal and formal deformations of twisted $\mathcal{O}$-operators from cohomological points of view. Furthermore, we introduce and study $3$-NS-Lie-algebras as the underlying structure of twisted $\mathcal{O}$-operators on $3$-Lie algebras. Finally, we investigate twisted $\mathcal{O}$-o…
We study formal deformations of multiplication in an operad. This closely resembles Gerstenhaber's deformation theory for associative algebras. However, this applies to various algebras of Loday-type and their twisted analogs. We explicitly describe the cohomology of these algebras with coefficients in a representation. Finally, deformation of morphisms between algebras of the same Loday-type is also considered.
