Suppose $X = (X_x, x$ in $Z^d)$ is a family of i.i.d. variables in some measurable space, $B_0$ is a bounded set in $R^d$, and for $t > 1$, $H_t$ is a measure on $tB_0$ determined by the restriction of $X$ to lattice sites in or adjacent to $tB_0$. We prove convergence to a white noise process for the random measure on $B_0$ given by $t^{-d/2}(H_t(tA)-EH_t(tA))$ for subsets $A$ of $B_0$, as $t$ becomes large, subject to $H$ satisfying a ``stabilization'' condition (whereby the effect of changing $X$ at a single site $x$ is local) but with no assumptions on the rate of decay of correlations. We also give a multivariate central limit theorem for the joint distributions of two or more such measures $H_t$, and adapt the result to measures based on Poisson and binomial point processes. Applications given include a white noise limit for the measure which counts clusters of critical percolation, a functional central limit theorem for the empirical process of the edge lengths of the minimal spanning tree on random points, and central limit theorems for the on-line nearest neighbour graph.
We consider first-passage percolation on the edges of $\mathbb{Z}^2 \times \{1, \cdots, k\},$ namely the slab $\mathbb{S}_k$ of width $k$. Each edge is assigned independently a passage time of either 0 (with probability $p_c(\mathbb{S}_k)$) or 1 ( with probability $1-p_c(\mathbb{S}_k)$) where $p_c$ is the critical probability for Bernouilli percolation. We prove central limit theorems for point-to-point and point-to-line passage times. These generalize the results of Kesten and Zhang \cite{kestenzhang} to non-planar graphs.

We consider the cardinality of supercritical oriented bond percolation in two dimensions. We show that, whenever the origin is conditioned to percolate, the process appropriately normalized converges asymptotically in distribution to the standard normal law. This resolves a longstanding open problem pointed out to in several instances in the literature. The result applies also to the continuous-time analog of the process, viz. the basic one-dimensional contact process. We also derive general random-indices central limit theorems for associated random variables as byproducts of our proof.
We consider a stochastic SIR (susceptible $\to$ infective $\to$ recovered) epidemic defined on a configuration model random graph, in which infective individuals can infect only their neighbours in the graph during an infectious period which has an arbitrary but specified distribution. Central limit theorems for the final size (number of initial susceptibles that become infected) of such an epidemic as the population size $n$ tends to infinity, with explicit, easy to compute expressions for the asymptotic variance, are proved assuming that the degrees are bounded. The results are obtained for …
Quantitative multivariate central limit theorems for general functionals of possibly non-symmetric and non-homogeneous infinite Rademacher sequences are proved by combining discrete Malliavin calculus with the smart path method for normal approximation. In particular, a discrete multivariate second-order Poincaré inequality is developed. As a first application, the normal approximation of vectors of subgraph counting statistics in the Erdős-Rényi random graph is considered. In this context, we further specialize to the normal approximation of vectors of vertex degrees. In a second application …
We provide an abstract multivariate central limit theorem with the Lindeberg-type error bounded in terms of Lipschitz functions (Wasserstein 1-distance) or functions with bounded second or third derivatives. The result is proved by means of Stein's method. For sums of i.i.d. random vectors with finite third absolute moment, the optimal rate of convergence is established (that is, we eliminate the logarithmic factor in the case of Lipschitz test functions). We indicate how the result could be applied to certain other dependence structures, but do not derive bounds explicitly.
Consider a Poisson point process within a convex set in a Euclidean space. The Vietoris-Rips complex is the clique complex over the graph connecting all pairs of points with distance at most $δ$. Summing powers of the volume of all $k$-dimensional faces defines the volume-power functionals of these random simplicial complexes. The asymptotic behavior of the volume-power functionals of the Vietoris-Rips complex is investigated as the intensity of the underlying Poisson point process tends to infinity and the distance parameter goes to zero. Univariate and multivariate central limit theorems are…
In directed last passage site percolation with i.i.d.~random weights with finite support over a $n\times\lfloor n^α\rfloor$ grid, we prove that for $n$ large enough, the order of the $r$-th central moment, $1\le r<+\infty$, of the last passage time is lower bounded by $n^{r(1-α)/2}$, $0<α<1/3$.
In this paper we introduce the \textit{multivariate} Brownian semistationary (BSS) processes and study the joint asymptotic behaviour of its realised covariation using in-fill asymptotics. First, we present a central limit theorem for general stationary multivariate Gaussian processes, which are not necessarily semimartingales. Then, we show weak laws of large numbers, central limit theorems and feasible results for BSS processes. An explicit example based on the so-called gamma kernels is also provided.
We use Stein's method to bound the Wasserstein distance of order $2$ between a measure $ν$ and the Gaussian measure using a stochastic process $(X_t)_{t \geq 0}$ such that $X_t$ is drawn from $ν$ for any $t > 0$. If the stochastic process $(X_t)_{t \geq 0}$ satisfies an additional exchangeability assumption, we show it can also be used to obtain bounds on Wasserstein distances of any order $p \geq 1$. Using our results, we provide optimal convergence rates for the multi-dimensional Central Limit Theorem in terms of Wasserstein distances of any order $p \geq 2$ under simple moment assumptions.
Consider the random polytope, that is given by the convex hull of a Poisson point process on a smooth convex body in $\mathbb{R}^d$. We prove central limit theorems for continuous motion invariant valuations including the Will's functional and the intrinsic volumes of this random polytope. Additionally we derive a central limit theorem for the oracle estimator, that is an unbiased an minimal variance estimator for the volume of a convex set. Finally we obtain a multivariate limit theorem for the intrinsic volumes and the components of the $\mathbf{f}$-vector of the random polytope.
We consider a directed random walk on the backbone of the supercritical oriented percolation cluster in dimensions $d+1$ with $d \ge 3$ being the spatial dimension. For this random walk we prove an annealed local central limit theorem and a quenched local limit theorem. The latter shows that the quenched transition probabilities of the random walk converge to the annealed transition probabilities reweighted by a function of the medium centred at the target site. This function is the density of the unique measure which is invariant for the point of view of the particle, is absolutely continuous…
This article considers multivariate linear processes whose components are either short- or long-range dependent. The functional central limit theorems for the sample mean and the sample autocovariances for these processes are investigated, paying special attention to the mixed cases of short- and long-range dependent series. The resulting limit processes can involve multivariate Brownian motion marginals, operator fractional Brownian motions and matrix-valued versions of the so-called Rosenblatt process.
Motivated by open problems in applied and computational algebraic topology, we establish multivariate normal approximation theorems for three random vectors which arise organically in the study of random clique complexes. These are: (1) the vector of critical simplex counts attained by a lexicographical Morse matching, (2) the vector of simplex counts in the link of a fixed simplex, and (3) the vector of total simplex counts. The first of these random vectors forms a cornerstone of modern homology algorithms, while the second one provides a natural generalisation for the notion of vertex degre…
In this paper, we provide upper bounds on the d2 distance between a large class of functionals of a multivariate compound Hawkes process and a given Gaussian vector. This is proven using Malliavin's calculus defined on an underlying Poisson embedding. The upper bound is then used to infer the speed of convergence of Central Limit Theorems for the multivariate compound Hawkes process with exponential kernels as the observation time T goes to infinity.
We investigate the multivariate central limit theorem for nonlinear statistics by means of Stein's method and Slepian's smart path interpolation method. Based on certain difference operators in theory of concentration inequalities, we obtain two explicit bounds for the rate of convergence. Applications to Rademacher functionals, the runs and quadratic forms are provided as well.
We provide a Lyapunov type bound in the multivariate central limit theorem for sums of independent, but not necessarily identically distributed random vectors. The error in the normal approximation is estimated for certain classes of sets, which include the class of measurable convex sets. The error bound is stated with explicit constants. The result is proved by means of Stein's method. In addition, we improve the constant in the bound of the Gaussian perimeter of convex sets.
Multivariate Bessel processes are classified via associated root systems and positive multiplicity constants. They describe the dynamics of interacting particle systems of Calogero-Moser-Sutherland type. Recently, Andraus, Katori, and Miyashita derived some weak laws of large numbers for these processes for fixed positive times and multiplicities tending to infinity. In this paper we derive associated central limit theorems for the root systems of types A, B and D in an elementary way. In most cases, the limits will be normal distributions, but in the B-case there are freezing limits where dis…
Using Stein's method, we prove an abstract result that yields multivariate central limit theorems with a rate of convergence for time-dependent dynamical systems. As examples we study a model of expanding circle maps and a quasistatic model. In both models we prove multivariate central limit theorems with a rate of convergence.

In this paper we show a central limit theorem for Lebesgue integrals of stationary $BL(θ)$-dependent random fields as the integration domain grows in Van Hove-sense. Our method is to use the (known) analogue result for discrete sums. As applications we obtain various multivariate versions of this central limit theorem.
Consider the multivariate Stein equation $Δf - x\cdot \nabla f = h(x) - E h(Z)$, where $Z$ is a standard $d$-dimensional Gaussian random vector, and let $f\_h$ be the solution given by Barbour's generator approach. We prove that, when $h$ is $α$-Hölder ($0<α\leq1$), all derivatives of order $2$ of $f\_h$ are $α$-Hölder {\it up to a $\log$ factor}; in particular they are $β$-Hölder for all $β\in (0, α)$, hereby improving existing regularity results on the solution of the multivariate Gaussian Stein equation. For $α=1$, the regularity we obtain is optimal, as shown by an example given by Raič \c…
Bessel processes $(X_{t,k})_{t\ge0}$ in $N$ dimensions are classified via associated root systems and multiplicity constants $k\ge0$. They describe interacting Calogero-Moser-Suther\-land particle systems with $N$ particles and are related to $β$-Hermite and $β$-Laguerre ensembles. Recently, several central limit theorems were derived for fixed $t>0$, fixed starting points, and $k\to\infty$. In this paper we extend the CLT in the A-case from start in 0 to arbitrary starting distributions by using a limit result for the corresponding Bessel functions. We also determine the eigenvalues and eigen…
We provide bounds of Berry-Esseen type for fundamental limit theorems in operator-valued free probability theory such as the operator-valued free Central Limit Theorem and the asymptotic behaviour of distributions of operator-valued matrices. Our estimates are on the level of operator-valued Cauchy transforms and the Lévy distance. We address the single-variable as well as the multivariate setting for which we consider linear matrix pencils and noncommutative polynomials as test functions. The estimates are in terms of operator-valued moments and yield the first quantitative bounds on the Lévy…
Multivariate Bessel processes $(X_{t,k})_{t\ge0}$ describe interacting particle systems of Calogero-Moser-Sutherland type and are related with $β$-Hermite and $β$-Laguerre ensembles. They depend on a root system and a multiplicity $k$ which corresponds to the parameter $β$ in random matrix theory. In the recent years, several limit theorems were derived for $k\to\infty$ with fixed $t>0$ and fixed starting point. Only recently, Andraus and Voit used the stochastic differential equations of $(X_{t,k})_{t\ge0}$ to derive limit theorems for $k\to\infty$ with starting points of the form $\sqrt k\cd…
