We formulate natural conformally invariant conditions on a 4-manifold for the existence of a metric whose Schouten tensor satisfies a quadratic inequality. This inequality implies that the eigenvalues of the Ricci tensor are positively pinched.
We introduce certain energy functionals to the complex Monge-Ampere equation over a bounded domain with inhomogeneous boundary condition, and use these functionals to show the convergence of the solution to the parabolic Monge-Ampere equation.
We describe some natural relations connecting contact geometry, classical Monge-Ampere equations and theory of singularities of solutions to nonlinear PDEs. They reveal the hidden meaning of Monge-Ampere equations and sheds new light on some aspects of contact geometry.
We study the parabolic complex Monge-Ampère type equations on closed Hermitian manfolds. We derive uniform $C^\infty$ {\em a priori} estimates for normalized solutions, and then prove the $C^\infty$ convergence. The result also yields a way to carry out method of continuity for elliptic Monge-Ampére type equations.
In this note, we derive a Liouville theorem for the complex Monge-Ampère equation. Our result states that if the global solution $u$ of the complex Monge-Ampère equation with constant right-hand side differs from a quadratic polynomial solution by $o(\abs{x}^2)$ at infinity, then $u$ is a quadratic polynomial.
We show the volume maximizing property of the special Lagrangian submanifolds of a pseudo-Euclidean space. These special Lagrangian submanifolds arise locally as gradient graphs of solutions to Monge-Ampere Equations.
We prove the long time existence and uniqueness of solutions to the parabolic Monge-Ampère equation on compact almost Hermitian manifolds. We also show that the normalization of solution converges to a smooth function in $C^{\infty}$ topology as $t\rightarrow\infty$. Up to scaling, the limit function is a solution of the Monge-Ampère equation. This gives a parabolic proof of existence of solutions to the Monge-Ampère equation on almost Hermitian manifolds.
We study generalized complex Monge-Ampère type equations on closed Hermitian manifolds. We derive {\em a priori} estimates and then prove the existence of admissible solutions. Moreover, the gradient estimate is improved.
We study the parabolic flow for generalized complex Monge-Ampère type equations on closed Hermitian manifolds. We derive {\em a priori} $C^\infty$ estimates for normalized solutions, and then prove the $C^\infty$ convergence.
We prove uniform gradient and diameter estimates for a family of geometric complex Monge-Ampere equations. Such estimates can be applied to study geometric regularity of singular solutions of complex Monge-Ampere equations. We also prove a uniform diameter estimate for collapsing families of twisted Kahler-Einstein metrics on Kahler manifolds of nonnegative Kodaira dimensions.
In this paper, by the method of moving planes, we establish the monotonicity and symmetry properties of convex solutions for Monge-Ampere systems on bounded smooth planar domains.
In this paper, we present smooth examples of degenerate hyperbolic and mixed type Monge-Ampere equations in the plane, which do not admit a local C^3 solution.
We consider degenerate Monge-Ampère equations on compact Hessian manifolds. We establish compactness properties of the set of normalized quasi-convex functions and show local and global comparison principles for twisted Monge-Ampère operators. We then use the Perron method to solve Monge-Ampère equations whose RHS involves an arbitrary probability measure, generalizing works of Cheng-Yau, Delanoë, Caffarelli-Viaclovsky and Hultgren-Önnheim. The intrinsic approach we develop should be useful in deriving similar results on mildly singular Hessian varieties, in line with the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow…
We prove a local volume noncollapsing estimate for Kähler metrics induced from a family of complex Monge-Ampère equations, assuming a local Ricci curvature lower bound. This local volume estimate can be applied to establish various diameter and gradient estimate.
A Backlund transformation between two hyperbolic Monge-Ampere systems may be described as a certain type of exterior differential system on a 6-dimensional manifold B. The transformation is homogeneous if the group of symmetries of the system acts transitively on B. We give a complete classification of homogeneous Backlund transformations between hyperbolic Monge-Ampere systems.
A new proof for stability estimates for the complex Monge-Ampère and Hessian equations is given, which does not require pluripotential theory. A major advantage is that the resulting stability estimates are then uniform under general degenerations of the background metric in the case of the Monge-Ampère equation, and under degenerations to a big class in the case of Hessian equations.
We prove the smoothness of weak solutions to an elliptic complex Monge-Ampere equation, using the smoothing property of the corresponding parabolic flow.
In this paper, we prove the asymptotic expansion of the solutions to some singular complex Monge-Ampère equation which arise naturally in the study of the conical Kähler-Einstein metric.
We show existence and uniqueness of solutions to the Monge-Ampere equation on compact almost complex manifolds with non-integrable almost complex structure.
In this paper, we consider the Monge-Ampère type equations on compact almost Hermitian manifolds. We derive $C^{\infty}$ a priori estimates under the existence of an admissible $\mathcal{C}$-subsolution. Finally, we obtain an existence result if there exists an admissible supersolution.
In this paper, by the method of moving planes, we prove the symmetry result which says that classical solutions of Monge-Ampere system in the whole plane are symmetric about some point. Our system under consideration comes from the differential geometry problem.
In this note, a gradient estimate for the complex Monge-Ampere equation is established. It differs from previous estimates of Yau, Hanani, Blocki, P. Guan, B. Guan - Q. Li in that it is pointwise, and depends only on the infimum of the solution instead of its $C^0$ norm.
We improve our previous gradient estimate for the Monge-Ampère equation on a compact Hermitian manifold and give a estimates for the non-mixed second order derivatives. These estimates are required to apply either the Evans-Krylov estimates for second order derivatives or the third derivatives estimates for equations with a gradient term.
In this paper, we prove a $C^{1,1}$ estimate for solutions of complex Monge-Ampère equations on compact almost Hermitian manifolds. Using this $C^{1,1}$ estimate, we show existence of $C^{1,1}$ solutions to the degenerate Monge-Ampère equations, the corresponding Dirichlet problems and the singular Monge-Ampère equations. We also study the singularities of the pluricomplex Green's function. In addition, the proof of the above $C^{1,1}$ estimate is valid for a kind of complex Monge-Ampère type equations. As a geometric application, we prove the $C^{1,1}$ regularity of geodesics in the space of …
We study various capacities on compact Kähler manifolds which generalize the Bedford-Taylor Monge-Ampère capacity. We then use these capacities to study the existence and the regularity of solutions of complex Monge-Ampère equations.
We introduce generalized Monge-Ampère capacities and use these to study complex Monge-Ampère equations whose right-hand side is smooth outside a divisor. We prove, in many cases, that there exists a unique normalized solution which is smooth outside the divisor.
We discuss Monge-Ampère equations from the view point of differential geometry. It is known that a Monge-Ampère equation corresponds to a special exterior differential system on a 1-jet space. In this paper, we generalize Monge-Ampère equations and prove that a $(k+1)$st order generalized Monge-Ampère equation corresponds to a special exterior differential system on a $k$-jet space. Then its solution naturally corresponds to an integral manifold of the corresponding exterior differential system. Moreover, we verify that the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation and the Cauchy-Riemann equations are …
Inspired by constructions in complex geometry we introduce a thermodynamic framework for Monge-Ampère equations on real tori. We show convergence in law of the associated point processes and explain connections to complex Monge-Ampère equations and optimal transport.
We establish various stability results for solutions of complex Monge-Ampère equations in big cohomology classes, generalizing results that were known to hold in the context of Kähler classes.
In this paper, we consider a version of parabolic complex Monge-Ampere equations, and use a PDE approach similar to Phong et al to establish $L^{\infty}$ and Hölder estimates. We also generalize the $L^{\infty}$ estimates to parabolic Hessian equations.
In this note, we consider complex Monge-Ampere equation posed on a compact Kähler manifold. We show how to get $L^p$($p<\infty$) and $L^{\infty}$ estimate for the gradient of the solution in terms of the continuity of the right hand side.
In this paper, we prove a uniform and sharp estimate for the modulus of continuity of solutions to complex Monge-Ampère equations, using the PDE-based approach developed by the first three authors in their approach to supremum estimates for fully non-linear equations in Kähler geometry. As an application, we derive a uniform diameter bound for Kähler metrics satisfying certain Monge-Ampère equations.
We study a fully nonlinear equation of complex Monge-Ampere type on Hermitian manifolds. We establish the a priori estimates for solutions of the equation up to the second order derivatives with the help of a subsolution.
In this paper, we obtain the Bedford-Taylor interior $C^{2}$ estimate and local Calabi $C^{3}$ estimate for the solutions to complex Monge-Ampère equations on Hermitian manifolds.
We study the quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation on HKT manifolds admitting an HKT foliation having corank 4. We show that in this setting the quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation has always a unique solution for every basic datum. This approach includes the study of the equation on SU(3).
We consider the complex Monge-Ampére equation on complete Kähler manifolds with cusp singularity along a divisor when the right hand side $F$ has rather weak regularity. We proved that when the right hand side $F$ is in some \emph{weighted} $W^{1,p_0}$ space for $p_0 > 2n$, the Monge-Ampére equation has a classical $W^{3,p_0}$ solution.
In the present paper, we study some generalized Monge--Ampère equations in terms of special exterior differential systems on a jet space. Moreover, we construct geometric singular solutions of the generalized Monge--Ampère equations by using the method of Cauchy characteristics. Furthermore, we give criteria for geometric singular solutions to be right-left equivalent to the cuspidal edge, swallowtail and butterfly.
In this lecture delivered at the Integrable and Quantum Field Theory at Peyresq sixth meeting, we review the Lychagin's Monge-Ampere operators theory and exhibit the link it establishes between the classical problem of local equivalence for non linear partial differential equations and the problem of integrability of some geometrical structures.
In this note, we describe the Hermitian metrics that leave the total Monge-Ampere volume invariant. In particular, we give several characterizations of the Hermitian metrics which satisfy the comparison principle for the complex Monge-Ampere operator
In this paper, we prove a mean value formula for bounded subharmonic Hermitian matrix valued function on a complete Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature. As its application, we obtain a Liouville type theorem for the complex Monge-Ampère equation on product manifolds.
We associate an integrable generalized complex structure to each 2-dimensional symplectic Monge-Ampère equation of divergent type and, using the Gualtieri $\bar{\partial}$ operator, we characterize the conservation laws and the generating function of such equation as generalized holomorphic objects.
We describe a method to reduce partial differential equations of Monge-Ampère type in 4 variables to complex partial differential equations in 2 variables. To illustrate this method, we construct explicit holomorphic solutions of the special lagrangian equation, the real Monge-Ampère equations and the Plebanski equations.
This paper concerns the questions of flexibility and rigidity of solutions to the Monge-Ampère equation which arises as a natural geometrical constraint in prestrained nonlinear elasticity. In particular, we focus on anomalous i.e. "flexible" weak solutions that can be constructed through methods of convex integration à la Nash & Kuiper and establish the related h-principle for the Monge-Ampère equation in two dimensions
We prove $C^\infty$ convergence for suitably normalized solutions of the parabolic complex Monge-Ampère equation on compact Hermitian manifolds. This provides a parabolic proof of a recent result of Tosatti and Weinkove.
We prove several approximation theorems of the complex Monge-Ampere operator on a compact Kahler manifold. As an application we give a new proof of a recent result of Guedj and Zeriahi on a complete description of the range of the complex Monge-Ampere operator in the class of w-plurisubharmonic functions with vanishing complex Monge-Ampere mass on all pluripolar sets. As a by-product we obtain a stability theorem of solutions of complex Monge-Ampere equations in some subclass.
The application of equivalence method to classify Monge-Ampère system leads to three orbits, parabolic case, hyperbolic case and elliptic case wich correspond to three types of Monge-Ampère systems. In this paper we will study the elliptic case and give a presentation of the group as a complex group.
We shall use the classical Perron envelope method to show a general existence theorem to degenerate complex Monge-Ampère type equations on compact Kähler manifolds.
In this work, we study Monge-Ampere equations over closed Kähler manifolds with degenerated cohomology classes. Classic results and arguments in pluripotential theory are generalized a little bit to be applied to our situation.
