The Dirac reduction technique used previously to obtain solutions of the classical dynamical Yang-Baxter equation on the dual of a Lie algebra is extended to the Poisson-Lie case and is shown to yield naturally certain dynamical r-matrices on the duals of Poisson-Lie groups found by Etingof, Enriquez and Marshall in math.QA/0403283.
We briefly review the possible Poisson structures on the chiral WZNW phase space and discuss the associated Poisson-Lie groupoids. Many interesting dynamical r-matrices appear naturally in this framework. Particular attention is paid to the special cases in which these r-matrices satisfy the classical dynamical Yang-Baxter equation or its Poisson-Lie variant.
Poisson-Lie (PL) dynamical r-matrices are generalizations of dynamical r-matrices, where the base is a Poisson-Lie group. We prove analogues of basic results for these r-matrices, namely constructions of (quasi)Poisson groupoids and of Poisson homogeneous spaces. We introduce a class of PL dynamical r-matrices, associated to nondegenerate Lie bialgebras with a splitting; this is a generalization of trigonometric r-matrices with an abelian base. We prove a composition theorem for PL dynamical r-matrices, and construct quantizations of the polarized PL dynamical r-matrices. This way, we obtain q…
A construction of multidimensional parametric Yang-Baxter maps is presented. The corresponding Lax matrices are the symplectic leaves of first degree matrix polynomials equipped with the Sklyanin bracket. These maps are symplectic with respect to the reduced symplectic structure on these leaves and provide examples of integrable mappings. An interesting family of quadrirational symplectic YB maps on $\mathbb{C}^4 \times \mathbb{C}^4$ with $3\times 3$ Lax matrices is also presented.
Dirac submanifolds are a natural generalization in the Poisson category for symplectic submanifolds of a symplectic manifold. In a certain sense they correspond to symplectic subgroupoids of the symplectic groupoid of the given Poisson manifold. In particular, Dirac submanifolds arise as the stable locus of a Poisson involution. In this paper, we provide a general study for these submanifolds including both local and global aspects. In the second part of the paper, we study Poisson involutions and the induced Poisson structures on their stable locuses. We discuss the Poisson involutions on a s…
We construct a Poisson isomorphism between the formal Poisson manifolds g^* and G^*, where g is a finite dimensional quasitriangular Lie bialgebra. Here g^* is equipped with its Lie-Poisson (or Kostant-Kirillov-Souriau) structure, and G^* with its Poisson-Lie structure. We also quantize Poisson-Lie dynamical r-matrices of Balog-Feher-Palla.
In this survey article, we describe recent work that connects three separate objects of interest: totally nonnegative matrices; quantum matrices; and matrix Poisson varieties.
Let $\g$ be a finite dimensional complex Lie algebra and $ł\subset \g$ a Lie subalgebra equipped with the structure of a factorizable quasitriangular Lie bialgebra. Consider the Lie group $\Exp ł$ with the Semenov-Tjan-Shansky Poisson bracket as a Poisson Lie manifold for the double Lie bialgebra $\Dł$. Let $\Nc_ł(0)\subset ł$ be an open domain parameterizing a neighborhood of the identity in $\Exp ł$ by the exponential map. We present dynamical $r$-matrices with values in $\g\wedge \g$ over the Poisson Lie base manifold $\Nc_ł(0)$.
According to Etingof and Varchenko, the classical dynamical Yang-Baxter equation is a guarantee for the consistency of the Poisson bracket on certain Poisson-Lie groupoids. Here it is noticed that Dirac reductions of these Poisson manifolds give rise to a mapping from dynamical r-matrices on a pair $Ł\subset \A$ to those on another pair $\K\subset \A$, where $\K\subset Ł\subset \A$ is a chain of Lie algebras for which $Ł$ admits a reductive decomposition as $Ł=\K+\M$. Several known dynamical r-matrices appear naturally in this setting, and its application provides new r-matrices, too. In parti…
Fundamental representations of real simple Poisson Lie groups are Poisson actions with a suitable choice of the Poisson structure on the underlying (real) vector space. We study these (mostly quadratic) Poisson structures and corresponding phase spaces (symplectic groupoids).
We analyse the problem of boundary conditions for the Poisson-Sigma model and extend previous results showing that non-coisotropic branes are allowed. We discuss the canonical reduction of a Poisson structure to a submanifold, leading to a Poisson algebra that generalizes Dirac's construction. The phase space of the model on the strip is related to the (generalized) Dirac bracket on the branes through a dual pair structure.
Gamma matrices for quantum Minkowski spaces are found. The invariance of the corresponding Dirac operator is proven. We introduce momenta for spin 1/2 particles and get (in certain cases) formal solutions of the Dirac equation.
The precise relationship between the arbitrary monodromy dependent 2-form appearing in the chiral WZNW symplectic form and the `exchange r-matrix' that governs the corresponding Poisson brackets is established. Generalizing earlier results related to diagonal monodromy, the exchange r-matrices are shown to satisfy a new dynamical generalization of the classical modified Yang-Baxter equation, which is found to admit an interpretation in terms of (new) Poisson-Lie groupoids. Dynamical exchange r-matrices for which right multiplication yields a classical or a Poisson-Lie symmetry on the chiral WZ…
The purpose of this paper is to establish a connection between various subjects such as dynamical r-matrices, Lie bialgebroids, and Lagrangian subalgebras. Our method relies on the theory of Dirac structures developed in dg-ga/9508013 and dg-ga/9611001. In particular, we give a new method of classifying dynamical r-matrices of simple Lie algebras $\frak g$, and prove that dynamical r-matrices are in one-one correspondence with certain Lagrangian subalgebras of ${\frak g}\oplus \frak g$.
We study the relationship between general dynamical Poisson groupoids and Lie quasi-bialgebras. For a class of Lie quasi-bialgebras naturally compatible with a reductive decomposition, we extend the description of the moduli space of classical dynamical r-matrices of Etingof and Schiffmann. We construct, in each gauge orbit, an explicit analytic representative l. We translate the notion of duality for dynamical Poisson groupoids into a duality for Lie quasi-bialgebras. It is shown that duality maps the dynamical Poisson groupoid for l and a Lie quasi-bialgebra to the dynamical Poisson groupoid…
Jiang-Hua Lu showed that any dynamical r-matrix for the pair $(g,u)$ naturally induces a Poisson homogeneous structure on $G/U$. She also proved that if $g$ is complex simple, $u$ is its Cartan subalgebra and $r$ is quasitriangular, then this correspondence is in fact 1-1. In the present paper we find some general conditions under which the Lu correspondence is 1-1. Then we apply this result to describe all triangular Poisson homogeneous structures on $G/U$ for a simple complex group $G$ and its reductive subgroup $U$ containing a Cartan subgroup.
Le $X$ be a $C^\infty$-manifold and $\g$ be a finite dimensional Lie algebra acting freely on $X$. Let $r \in \ve^2(\g)$ be such that $Z=[r,r] \in \ve^3(\g)^\g$. In this paper we prove that every quasi-Poisson $(\g,Z)$-manifold can be quantized. This is a generalization of the existence of a twist quantization of coboundary Lie bialgebras (\cite{EH}) in the case $X=G$ (where $G$ is the simply connected Lie group corresponding to $\g$). We deduce our result from a generalized formality theorem. In the case Z=0, we get a new proof of the existence of (equivariant) formality theorem and so (equiv…
We consider the space of bilinear forms on a complex N-dimensional vector space endowed with the quadratic Poisson bracket studied in our previous paper arXiv:1012.5251. We classify all possible quadratic brackets on the set of pairs of matrices A and B with the property that the natural action of B on the defining matrix A of a bilinear form is a Poisson action of a Poisson-Lie group, thus endowing this space of bilinear forms with the structure of Poisson homogeneous space. Beside the product Poisson structure we find two more (dual to each other) structures for which (in contrast to the pro…
We construct the classical Poisson structure and $r$-matrix for some finite dimensional integrable Hamiltonian systems obtained by constraining the flows of soliton equations in a certain way. This approach allows one to produce new kinds of classical, dynamical Yang-Baxter structures. To illustrate the method we present the $r$-matrices associated with the constrained flows of the Kaup-Newell, KdV, AKNS, WKI and TG hierarchies, all generated by a 2-dimensional eigenvalue problem. Some of the obtained $r$-matrices depend only on the spectral parameters, but others depend also on the dynamical …
In [5] Cauchon introduced the so-called deleting derivations algorithm. This algorithm was first used in noncommutative algebra to prove catenarity in generic quantum matrices, and then to show that torus-invariant primes in these algebras are generated by quantum minors. Since then this algorithm has been used in various contexts. In particular, the matrix version makes a bridge between torus-invariant primes in generic quantum matrices, torus-orbits of symplectic leaves in matrix Poisson varieties and totally nonnegative cells in totally nonnegative matrix varieties [12]. This led to recent …
Measuring distances on a lattice in noncommutative geometry involves square, symmetric and real ``three-diagonal'' matrices, with the sum of their elements obeying a supremum condition, together with a constraint forcing the absolute value of the maximal eigenvalue to be equal to 1. In even dimensions, these matrices are unipotent of order two, while in odd dimensions only their squares are Markovian. We suggest that these bi-graded Markovian matrices (i.e. consisting in the square roots of Markovian matrices) can be thought of as non-local Dirac operators. The eigenvectors of these matrices a…
We describe explicitly the admissible families of minors for the totally nonnegative cells of real matrices, that is, the families of minors that produce nonempty cells in the cell decompositions of spaces of totally nonnegative matrices introduced by A. Postnikov. In order to do this, we relate the totally nonnegative cells to torus orbits of symplectic leaves of the Poisson varieties of complex matrices. In particular, we describe the minors that vanish on a torus orbit of symplectic leaves, we prove that such families of minors are exactly the admissible families, and we show that the nonem…
The canonical structure of classical non-linear sigma models on Riemannian symmetric spaces, which constitute the most general class of classical non-linear sigma models known to be integrable, is shown to be governed by a fundamental Poisson bracket relation that fits into the $r$-$s$-matrix formalism for non-ultralocal integrable models first discussed by Maillet. The matrices $r$ and $s$ are computed explicitly and, being field dependent, satisfy fundamental Poisson bracket relations of their own, which can be expressed in terms of a new numerical matrix~$c$. It is proposed that all these P…
We provide a general study for triangular dynamical r-matrices using Poisson geometry. We show that a triangular dynamical r-matrix always gives rise to a regular Poisson manifold. Using the Fedosov method, we prove that non-degenerate (i.e., the corresponding Poisson manifolds are symplectic) triangular dynamical r-matrices (over $ \frakh^* $ and valued in $\wedge^{2}\frakg$) are quantizable, and the quantization is classified by the relative Lie algebra cohomology $H^{2}(\frakg, \frakh)[[\hbar ]]$. We also generalize this quantization method to splittable triangular dynamical r-matrices, whi…
We classify in this paper Poisson structures on modules over semisimple Lie algebras arising from classical r-matrices. We then study their quantizations and the relation to classical invariant theory.
We compute the Poisson bracket relations for the monodromy matrix of the auxiliary linear problem. If the basic Poisson bracket relations of the model contain derivatives, this computation leads to a peculiar type of symmetry breaking which accounts for a 'spontaneous quantization of the underlying global gauge group. A classification of possible patterns of symmetry breaking is outlined.
