Extending a result from the paper of D. Khavinson and G. Swiatek, we show that the rational harmonic function $\bar{r(z)} - z$, where r(z) is a rational function of degree n > 1, has no more than 5n - 5 complex zeros. Applications to gravitational lensing are discussed. In particular, this result settles a conjecture of S. H. Rhie concerning the maximum number of lensed images due to an n-point gravitational lens.
We study the lemniscates of rational maps. We prove a reflection principle for the harmonic measure of rational lemniscates and we give estimates for their capacity and the capacity of their components. Also, we prove a version of Schwarz's lemma for the capacity of the lemniscates of proper holomorphic functions.
We study how adding certain poles to rational harmonic functions of the form $R(z)-\bar{z}$, with $R(z)$ rational and of degree $d\geq 2$, affects the number of zeros of the resulting functions. Our results are motivated by and generalize a construction of Rhie derived in the context of gravitational microlensing (ArXiv e-print 2003). Of particular interest is the construction and the behavior of rational functions $R(z)$ that are {\em extremal} in the sense that $R(z)-\bar{z}$ has the maximal possible number of $5(d-1)$ zeros.
We study the effect of constant shifts on the zeros of rational harmomic functions $f(z) = r(z) - \conj{z}$. In particular, we characterize how shifting through the caustics of $f$ changes the number of zeros and their respective orientations. This also yields insight into the nature of the singular zeros of $f$. Our results have applications in gravitational lensing theory, where certain such functions $f$ represent gravitational point-mass lenses, and a constant shift can be interpreted as the position of the light source of the lens.
General Relativity gives that finitely many point masses between an observer and a light source create many images of the light source. Positions of these images are solutions of $r(z)=\bar{z},$ where $r(z)$ is a rational function. We study the number of solutions to $p(z) = \bar{z}$ and $r(z) = \bar{z},$ where $p(z)$ and $r(z)$ are polynomials and rational functions, respectively. Upper and lower bounds were previously obtained by Khavinson-Świcatek, Khavinson-Neumann, and Petters. Between these bounds, we show that any number of simple zeros allowed by the Argument Principle occurs and nothi…
In this paper, we define certain subclass of harmonic univalent function in the unit disc U = {z in C :|z|<1} by using q-differential operator. Also we obtain coefficient inequalities, growth and distortion theorems for this subclass.
In this article, we introduce a new family of sense preserving harmonic mappings f in the open unit disk and prove that functions in this family are close-to-convex. We give some basic properties such as coefficient bounds, growth estimates, convolution and determine the radius of convexity for the functions belonging to this family. In addition, we construct certain harmonic univalent polynomials belonging to this family.
We provide some new estimates for distances in harmonic function spaces of several variables related to mixed norm spaces.Some of them extend previously known assertions in this direction in the unit ball and upperhalfspace.
In this paper, we determine the sharp estimates for Toeplitz determinants of a subclass of close-to-convex harmonic mappings. Moreover, we obtain an improved version of Bohr's inequalities for a subclass of close-to-convex harmonic mappings, whose analytic parts are Ma-Minda convex functions.
We derive asymptotic estimates at infinity for positive harmonic functions in a large class of non-smooth unbounded domains. These include domains whose sections, after rescaling, resemble a Lipschitz cylinder or a Lipschitz cone, e.g., various paraboloids and horns.
In this paper, we consider three families of numerical series with general terms containing the harmonic numbers, and we use simple methods from classical and complex analysis to find explicit formulas for their respective sums.
The principal goal of this paper is to extend the classical problem of find the values of $α\in \C$ for which the mappings, either $F_α(z)=\int_0^z(f(ζ)/ζ)^αdζ$ or $f_α(z)=\int_0^z(f'(ζ))^αdζ$ are univalent, whenever $f$ belongs to some subclasses of univalent mappings in $\D$, but in the case of harmonic mappings, considering the \textit{shear construction} introduced by Clunie and Sheil-Small in \cite{CSS}.
The primary aim of this article is to extend certain inequalities concerning the pre-Schwarzian derivatives from the case of analytic univalent functions to that of univalent harmonic mappings defined on certain domains. This is done in two different ways. One of the ways is to connect with a conjecture on the univalent harmonic mappings. Also, we improve certain known results on the majorization of the Jacobian of functions in the affine and linear invariant family of sense-preserving harmonic mappings. This is achieved as an application of a corresponding distortion theorem in terms of the h…
Equilibrium measures in the real axis in the presence of rational external fields are considered. These external fields are called rational since their derivatives are rational functions. We analyze the evolution of the equilibrium measure, and its support, when the size of the measure, $t$, or other parameters in the external field vary. Our analysis is illustrated by studying with detail the case of a generalized Gauss-Penner model, which, in addition to its mathematical relevance, has important physical applications (in the framework of random matrix models). This paper is a natural continu…
Finding an approximate region containing all the zeros of analytic polynomials is a well-studied problem. But the numb er of the zeros and regions containing all the zeros of complex-valued harmonic polynomials is relatively a fresh research area. It is well known that all the zeros of analytic trinomials are enclosed in some annular sectors that take into account the magnitude of the coefficients. Following Kennedy and Dehmer, we provide the zero inclusion regions of all the zeros of complex-valued harmonic polynomials in general, and in particular, we bound all the zeros of some families of …
Let $ \mathcal{H} $ be the class of harmonic functions $ f=h+\bar{g} $ in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}:=\{z\in\mathbb{C} : |z|<1\}$, where $ h $ and $ g $ are analytic in $ \mathbb{D} $. Let $$\mathcal{P}_{\mathcal{H}}^{0}(α)=\{f=h+\overline{g} \in \mathcal{H} : \real (h^{\prime}(z)-α)>|g^{\prime}(z)|\; \mbox{with}\; 0\leqα<1,\; g^{\prime}(0)=0,\; z \in \mathbb{D}\} $$ be the class of close-to-convex mappings defined by Li and Ponnusamy \cite{Injectivity section}. In this paper, we obtain the sharp Bohr-Rogosinski radius, improved Bohr radius and refined Bohr radius for the class $ \mathcal{P}_{\…
In this paper we have introduced two new classes $\mathcal{H}\mathcal{M}(β, λ, k, ν)$ and $\overline{\mathcal{H}\mathcal{M}} (β, λ, k, ν)$ of complex valued harmonic multivalent functions of the form $f = h + \overline g$, satisfying the condition \[ Re \{(1 - λ) \frac{Ω^vf}{z} + λ(1-k) \frac{(Ω^vf)'}{z'} + λk \frac{(Ω^vf)''}{z''} \} > β, (z\in \mathcal{D})\] where $h$ and $g$ are analytic in the unit disk $\mathcal{D} = \{z : |z| < 1\}.$ A sufficient coefficient condition for this function in the class $\mathcal{H}\mathcal{M}(β, λ, k, ν)$ and a necessary and sufficient coefficient condition f…
The Bohr radius for the class of harmonic functions of the form $ f(z)=h+\overline{g} $ in the unit disk $ \mathbb{D}:=\{z\in\mathbb{C} : |z|<1\} $, where $ h(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}a_nz^n $ and $ g(z)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}b_nz^n $ is to find the largest radius $ r_f $, $ 0<r_f<1 $ such that \begin{equation*} \sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\left(|a_n|+|b_n|\right)|z|^n\leq d(f(0),\partial f(\mathbb{D})) \end{equation*} holds for $ |z|=r\leq r_f $, where $ d(f(0),\partial f(\mathbb{D})) $ is the Euclidean distance between $ f(0) $ and the boundary of $ f(\mathbb{D}) $. In this paper, we prove two-type of impr…
Let $f(z)=h(z)+\overline{g(z)}$ be a harmonic mapping of the unit disk $U$. In this paper, the sharp coefficient estimates for bounded planar harmonic mappings are established, the sharp coefficient estimates for normalized planar harmonic mappings with $|h(z)|+|g(z)|\leq M$ are also provided. As their applications, Landau's theorems for certain biharmonic mappings are provided, which improve and refine the related results of earlier authors.
Let $\mathcal{L}$ be a Lipschitz lamination by Riemann surfaces embedded in $M$. If $M$ is a complex torus, $\mathbb{CP}^1\times\mathbb{CP}^1$ or $\mathbb{T}^1\times\mathbb{CP}^1$ and there is no directed closed current then there exists a unique directed harmonic current of mass one. Moreover if $\mathcal{L}$ is embedded in $M=\mathbb{CP}^1\times\mathbb{CP}^1$ and has no compact leaves, then there is no directed closed current. If $\mathcal{L}$ is not Lipschitz, then slightly weaker results are obtained.

D. Khavinson和G. Levy和A.普瓦里耶
