The main theorem in this paper is a far-reaching generalization of Gleason's theorem on the weight enumerators of codes which applies to arbitrary-genus weight enumerators of self-dual codes defined over a large class of finite rings and modules. The proof of the theorem uses a categorical approach, and will be the subject of a forthcoming book. However, the theorem can be stated and applied without using category theory, and we illustrate it here by applying it to generalized doubly-even codes over fields of characteristic 2, doubly-even codes over the integers modulo a power of 2, and self-dual codes over the noncommutative ring $\F_q + \F_q u$, where $u^2 = 0$..
In this paper, we give a representation of the average of complete joint weight enumerators of two linear codes of length $n$ over $\mathbb{F}_{q}$ and $\mathbb{Z}_{k}$ in terms of the compositions of $n$ and their distributions in the codes. We also obtain a generalization of the representation for the average of $g$-fold complete joint weight enumerators of codes over $\mathbb{F}_{q}$ and $\mathbb{Z}_{k}$. Finally, the average of intersection numbers of a pair of Type III (resp. Type IV) codes, and its second moment are found.
In this note, we give an equivalent condition for a self-dual weight enumerator of genus three to satisfy the Riemann hypothesis. We also observe the truth and falsehood of the Riemann hypothesis for some families of invariant polynomials.
In the present paper, we introduce the concepts of Jacobi polynomials and intersection enumerators of codes over $\mathbb{F}_q$ and $\mathbb{Z}_{k}$ for arbitrary genus $g$. We also discuss the interrelation among them. Finally, we give the MacWilliams type identities for Jacobi polynomials.
We express the weight enumerators of self-dual and doubly even (Type II for short) codes of length $24$ with a specified basis. As a consequence, we present some congruence relations among the weight enumerators.
The invariant theory of finite groups can connect the coding theory to the number theory. In this paper, under this conformity, we obtain the minimal generators of the rings of E-polynomials constructed from the groups related to $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes. In addition, we determine the generators of the invariant rings appearing by E-Polynomials and complete weight enumerators of Type II $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes.
