We show that the general Lévy process can be embedded in a suitable Fock space, classified by cocycles of the real line regarded as a group, ${\bf R}$. The formula of de Finetti corresponds to coboundaries. Kolmogorov's processes correspond to cocycles of which the derivatives are cocycles of the Lie algebra of ${\bf R}$. Lévy's formula gives the most general cocycle possible.
We review the recent results on the Jacobi field of a (real-valued) Lévy process defined on a Riemannian manifold. In the case where the Lévy process is neither Gaussian, nor Poisson, the corresponding Jacobi field acts in an extended Fock space. We also give a unitary equivalent representation of the Jacobi field in a usual Fock space. This representation is inspired by a result by Accardi, Franz, and Skeide (2002).
We derive an explicit formula for the Jacobi field that is acting in an extended Fock space and corresponds to an ($\R$-valued) Lévy process on a Riemannian manifold. The support of the measure of jumps in the Lévy--Khintchine representation for the Lévy process is supposed to have an infinite number of points. We characterize the gamma, Pascal, and Meixner processes as the only Lévy processes whose Jacobi field leaves the set of finite continuous elements of the extended Fock space invariant.
We review and extend Lindsay's work on abstract gradient and divergence operators in Fock space over a general complex Hilbert space. Precise expressions for the domains are given, the $L^2$-equivalence of norms is proved and an abstract version of the Itô-Skorohod isometry is established. We then outline a new proof of Itô's chaos expansion of complex Lévy-Itô space in terms of multiple Wiener-Lévy integrals based on Brownian motion and a compensated Poisson random measure. The duality transform now identifies Lévy-Itô space as a Fock space. We can then easily obtain key properties of the gra…
In [Yu.M. Berezansky, E. Lytvynov, D. A. Mierzejewski, Ukrainian Math. J. 55 (2003), 853--858 ], the Jacobi field of a Lévy process was derived. This field consists of commuting self-adjoint operators acting in an extended (interacting) Fock space. However, these operators have a quite complicated structure. In this note, using ideas from [L. Accardi. U. Franz, M. Skeide, Comm. Math. Phys. 228 (2002), 123--150] and [E. Lytvynov, Infin. Dimen. Anal. Quant. Prob. Rel. Top. 7 (2004), 619--629], we obtain a unitary equivalent representation of the Jacobi field of a Lévy process. In this representa…
We explicitly construct and study an isometry between the spaces of square integrable functionals of an arbitrary Levy process and a vector-valued Gaussian white noise. In particular, we obtain explicit formulas for this isometry at the level of multiplicative functionals and at the level of orthogonal decompositions, as well as find its kernel. We consider in detail the central special case: the isometry between the $L^2$ spaces over a Poisson process and the corresponding white noise. The key role in our considerations is played by the notion of measure and Hilbert factorizations and related…
Motivated by the recent results of Nualart and Xu \cite{Nualart} concerning limits laws for occupation times of one dimensional symmetric stable processes, this paper proves a decomposition for functionals of one dimensional symmetric Lévy processes under certain conditions on the characteristic exponent and computes the moments of the decomposition.
In this paper we generalize known workload decomposition results for Lévy queues with secondary jump inputs and queues with server vacations or service interruptions. Special cases are polling systems with either compound Poisson or more general Lévy inputs. Our main tools are new martingale results, which have been derived in a companion paper.
We study the convergence in distribution of the supremum of the local time and of the favorite site for a transient diffusion in a spectrally negative Lévy potential. To do so, we study the h-valleys of a spectrally negative Lévy process, and we prove in partiular that the renormalized sequence of the h-minima converges to the jumping times sequence of a standard Poisson process.
Let $X$ be a real Lévy process and let $\Xpos $ be the process conditioned to stay positive. We assume that $ 0 $ is regular for $(-\infty, 0)$ and $(0, +\infty) $ with respect to $X$. Using elementary excursion theory arguments, we provide a simple probabilistic description of the reversed paths of $X$ and $\Xpos $ at their first hitting time of $ (x, +\infty)$ and last passage time of $ (-\infty, x ] $, on a fixed time interval $[0, t]$, for a positive level $x$. From these reversion formulas, we derive an extension to general Lévy processes of Williams' decomposition theorems, Bismut's deco…
Path decomposition is performed to analyze the pre-supremum, post-supremum, post-infimum and the intermediate processes of a spectrally negative Levy process taken up to an independent exponential time T as motivated by the aim of finding the joint distribution of the maximum loss and maximum gain. In addition, the joint distribution of the supremum and the infimum before an exponential time is displayed. As an application of path decomposition, the distributions of supremum of the post-infimum process and the maximum loss of the post-supremum process are obtained.
A step reinforced random walk is a discrete time process with memory such that at each time step, with fixed probability $p \in (0,1)$, it repeats a previously performed step chosen uniformly at random while with complementary probability $1-p$, it performs an independent step with fixed law. In the continuum, the main result of Bertoin in [7] states that the random walk constructed from the discrete-time skeleton of a Lévy process for a time partition of mesh-size $1/n$ converges, as $n \uparrow \infty$ in the sense of finite dimensional distributions, to a process $\hatξ$ referred to as a no…
This a free translation with additional explanations of {\em Processus à Accroissement Independants Chapitre I: La Décomposition de Paul Lévy}, by J.L. Bretagnolle, in {\em Ecole d'Eté de Probabilités}, Lecture Notes in Mathematics 307, Springer 1973. The Lévy-Khintchine representation of infinitely divisible distributions is obtained as a by-product. As this proof makes use of martingale methods, it is pedagogically more suitable for students of financial mathematics than some other approaches. It is hoped that the end notes will also help to make the proof more accessible to this audience.
In \cite{Bia97} Biane proposed a new statistic on set partitions which he called \emph{restricted crossings}. In a series of papers \cite{Ans01,Ans04,Ans04b,Ans05} Anshelevich showed that this statistic is an essential tool to investigate stochastic processes on $q$-Fock space. In particular, Anshelevich constructed operators whose moments count restricted crossings and used these operators to develop a beautiful theory of noncommutative $q$-Lévy processes. In the present paper following Anshelevich we define gauge operators on $(α,q)$-Fock and cumulants which are governed by statistics on par…
We consider a Lévy process $Y(t)$ that is not permanently observed, but rather inspected at Poisson($ω$) moments only, over an exponentially distributed time $T_β$ with parameter $β$. The focus lies on the analysis of the distribution of the running maximum at such inspection moments up to $T_β$, denoted by $Y_{β,ω}$. Our main result is a decomposition: we derive a remarkable distributional equality that contains $Y_{β,ω}$ as well as the running maximum process $\bar Y(t)$ at the exponentially distributed times $T_β$ and $T_{β+ω}$. Concretely, $\overline{Y}(T_β)$ can be written the sum of the …
We analyze the general Lévy insurance risk process for Lévy measures in the convolution equivalence class $\mathcal{S}^{(α)}$, $α>0$, via a new kind of path decomposition. This yields a very general functional limit theorem as the initial reserve level $u\to \infty$, and a host of new results for functionals of interest in insurance risk. Particular emphasis is placed on the time to ruin, which is shown to have a proper limiting distribution, as $u\to \infty$, conditional on ruin occurring under our assumptions. Existing asymptotic results under the $\mathcal{S}^{(α)}$ assumption are synthesiz…
It is well known that between all processes with independent increments, essentially only the Brownian motion and the Poisson process possess the chaotic representation property (CRP). Thus, a natural question appears: What is an appropriate analog of the CRP in the case of a general Lévy process. At least three approaches are possible here. The first one, due to Itô, uses the CRP of the Brownian motion and the Poisson process, as well as the representation of a Lévy process through those processes. The second approach, due to Nualart and Schoutens, consists in representing any square-integrab…
We continue the investigation of the Levy processes on a q-deformed full Fock space started in a previous paper. First, we show that the vacuum vector is cyclic and separating for the algebra generated by such a process. Next, we describe a chaotic representation property in terms of multiple integrals with respect to diagonal measures, in the style of Nualart and Schoutens. We define stochastic integration with respect to these processes, and calculate their combinatorial stochastic measures. Finally, we show that they generate infinite von Neumann algebras.
We consider a spectrally positive Lévy process $X$ that does not drift to $+\infty$, viewed as coding for the genealogical structure of a (sub)critical branching process, in the sense of a contour or exploration process \cite{GaJa98,Lam10}. We denote by $I$ the past infimum process defined for each $t\geq 0$ by $I_t:= \inf_{[0,t]} X$ and we let $γ$ be the unique time at which the excursion of the reflected process $X-I$ away from 0 attains its supremum. We prove that the pre-$γ$ and the post-$γ$ subpaths of this excursion are invariant under space-time reversal, which has several other consequ…
Cylindrical probability measures are finitely additive measures on Banach spaces that have sigma-additive projections to Euclidean spaces of all dimensions. They are naturally associated to notions of weak (cylindrical) random variable and hence weak (cylindrical) stochastic processes. In this paper we focus on cylindrical Levy processes. These have (weak) Levy-Ito decompositions and an associated Levy-Khintchine formula. If the process is weakly square integrable, its covariance operator can be used to construct a reproducing kernel Hilbert space in which the process has a decomposition as an…
We provide a Lévy-Itô decomposition of sample paths of Lévy processes with values in complete locally convex Suslin spaces. This class of state spaces contains the well investigated examples of separable Banach spaces, as well as Fréchet or distribution spaces among many others. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a pathwise compensated Poisson integral handling infinite activity of the Lévy process are given.
We consider Malliavin calculus based on the Itô chaos decomposition of square integrable random variables on the Lévy space. We show that when a random variable satisfies a certain measurability condition, its differentiability and fractional differentiability can be determined by weighted Lebesgue spaces. The measurability condition is satisfied for all random variables if the underlying Lévy process is a compound Poisson process on a finite time interval.
Let $Φ$ be a nuclear space and let $Φ'_β$ denote its strong dual. In this work we establish the one-to-one correspondence between infinitely divisible measures on $Φ'_β$ and Lévy processes taking values in $Φ'_β$. Moreover, we prove the Lévy-Itô decomposition, the Lévy-Khintchine formula and the existence of càdlàg versions for $Φ'_β$-valued Lévy processes. A characterization for Lévy measures on $Φ'_β$ is also established. Finally, we prove the Lévy-Khintchine formula for infinitely divisible measures on $Φ'_β$.
We study the diameter of L{é}vy trees that are random compact metric spaces obtained as the scaling limits of Galton-Watson trees. L{é}vy trees have been introduced by Le Gall and Le Jan (1998) and they generalise Aldous' Continuum Random Tree (1991) that corresponds to the Brownian case. We first characterize the law of the diameter of L{é}vy trees and we prove that it is realized by a unique pair of points. We prove that the law of L{é}vy trees conditioned to have a fixed diameter r $\in$ (0, $\infty$) is obtained by glueing at their respective roots two independent size-biased L{é}vy trees …
We present a satisfactory definition of the important class of Lévy processes indexed by a general collection of sets. We use a new definition for increment stationarity of set-indexed processes to obtain different characterizations of this class. As an example, the set-indexed compound Poisson process is introduced. The set-indexed Lévy process is characterized by infinitely divisible laws and a Lévy-Khintchine representation. Moreover, the following concepts are discussed: projections on flows, Markov properties, and pointwise continuity. Finally the study of sample paths leads to a Lévy-Itô…
We construct the law of Lévy processes conditioned to stay positive under general hypotheses. We obtain a Williams type path decomposition at the minimum of these processes. This result is then applied to prove the weak convergence of the law of Lévy processes conditioned to stay positive as their initial state tends to 0. We describe an absolute continuity relationship between the limit law and the measure of the excursions away from 0 of the underlying Lévy process reflected at its minimum. Then, when the Lévy process creeps upwards, we study the lower tail at 0 of the law of the height this…
A Lévy process on a *-bialgebra is given by its generator, a conditionally positive hermitian linear functional vanishing at the unit element. A *-algebra homomorphism k from a *-bialgebra C to a *-bialgebra B with the property that k respects the counits maps generators on B to generators on C. A tranformation between the corrresponding two Lévy processes is given by forming infinitesimal convolution products. This general result is applied to various situations, e.g., to a *-bialgebra and its associated primitive tensor *-bialgebra (called "generator process") as well as its associated group…
Path decomposition is performed to characterize the law of the pre/post-supremum, post-infimum and the intermediate processes of a spectrally negative Levy process taken up to an independent exponential time T: As a result, mainly the distributions of the supremum of the post-infimum process and the maximum drawdown of the pre/postsupremum, post-infimum processes and the intermediate processes are obtained together with the law of drawdown durations.
We extend the result of Nualart and Schoutens on chaotic decomposition of the $L^2$-space of a Lévy process to the case of a generalized stochastic processes with independent values.
In this paper we study the properties of the Poisson random measure and the Poisson integral associated with a G-Levy process. We prove that a Poisson integral is a G-Levy process and give the conditions which ensure that a Poisson integral belongs to a good space of random variables. In particular, we study the relation between the quasi- continuity of an integrand and the quasi-continuity of the integral. Lastly, we apply the results to establish the pathwise decomposition of a G-Levy process into a generalized G-Brownian motion and a pure-jump G-Levy process and prove that both processes be…
A scaling on some space is a measurable action of the group of positive real numbers. A measure on a measurable space equipped with a scaling is said to be $α$-homogeneous for some nonzero real number $α$ if the mass of any measurable set scaled by any factor $t > 0$ is the multiple $t^{-α}$ of the set's original mass. It is shown rather generally that given an $α$-homogeneous measure on a measurable space there is a measurable bijection between the space and the Cartesian product of a subset of the space and the positive real numbers (that is, a "system of polar coordinates") such that the pu…
A cylindrical Levy process does not enjoy a cylindrical version of the semi-martingale decomposition which results in the need to develop a completely novel approach to stochastic integration. In this work, we introduce a stochastic integral for random integrands with respect to cylindrical Levy processes in Hilbert spaces. The space of admissible integrands consists of adapted stochastic processes with values in the space of Hilbert-Schmidt operators. Neither the integrands nor the integrator is required to satisfy any moment or boundedness condition. The integral process is characterised as …
In this work, we introduce a theory of stochastic integration with respect to symmetric $α$-stable cylindrical Lévy processes. Since $α$-stable cylindrical Lévy processes do not enjoy a semi-martingale decomposition, our approach is based on a decoupling inequality for the tangent sequence of the Radonified increments. This approach enables us to characterise the largest space of predictable Hilbert-Schmidt operator-valued processes which are integrable with respect to an $α$-stable cylindrical Lévy process as the collection of all predictable processes with paths in the Bochner space $L^α$. W…
In this paper, we shall introduce the Tanaka formula from viewpoint of the Doob-Meyer decomposition. For symmetric Lévy processes, if the local time exists, Salminen and Yor (2007) obtained the Tanaka formula by using the potential theoretic techniques. On the other hand, for asymmetric stable processes with index $α\in (1,2)$, we studied the Tanaka formula by using Itô's stochastic calculus and the Fourier analysis. In this paper, we study the Tanaka formula for asymmetric Lévy processes via the potential theoretic approach. We give several examples for important processes. Our approach also …
We construct random locally compact real trees called Levy trees that are the genealogical trees associated with continuous-state branching processes. More precisely, we define a growing family of discrete Galton-Watson trees with i.i.d. exponential branch lengths that is consistent under Bernoulli percolation on leaves; we define the Levy tree as the limit of this growing family with respect to the Gromov-Hausdorff topology on metric spaces. This elementary approach notably includes supercritical trees and does not make use of the height process introduced by Le Gall and Le Jan to code the ge…
In the present work, we consider spectrally positive Lévy processes $(X_t,t\geq0)$ not drifting to $+\infty$ and we are interested in conditioning these processes to reach arbitrarily large heights (in the sense of the height process associated with $X$) before hitting 0. This way we obtain a new conditioning of Lévy processes to stay positive. The (honest) law $\pfl$ of this conditioned process is defined as a Doob $h$-transform via a martingale. For Lévy processes with infinite variation paths, this martingale is $(\int\tilde\rt(\mathrm{d}z)e^{αz}+I_t)\2{t\leq T_0}$ for some $α$ and where $(…
Consider a Lévy process $Y(t)$ over an exponentially distributed time $T_β$ with mean $1/β$. We study the joint distribution of the running maximum $\bar{Y}(T_β)$ and the time epoch $G(T_β$) at which this maximum last occurs. Our main result is a fluctuation-theoretic distributional equality: the vector ($\bar{Y}(T_β),G(T_β)$) can be written as a sum of two independent vectors, the first one being ($\bar{Y}(T_{β+ω}),G(T_{β+ω})$) and the second one being the running maximum and corresponding time epoch under the restriction that the Lévy process is only observed at Poisson($ω$) inspection epoch…
Let $ν$ be a finite measure on $\mathbb R$ whose Laplace transform is analytic in a neighborhood of zero. An anyon Lévy white noise on $(\mathbb R^d,dx)$ is a certain family of noncommuting operators $\langleω,φ\rangle$ in the anyon Fock space over $L^2(\mathbb R^d\times\mathbb R,dx\otimesν)$. Here $φ=φ(x)$ runs over a space of test functions on $\mathbb R^d$, while $ω=ω(x)$ is interpreted as an operator-valued distribution on $\mathbb R^d$. Let $L^2(τ)$ be the noncommutative $L^2$-space generated by the algebra of polynomials in variables $\langle ω,φ\rangle$, where $τ$ is the vacuum expectat…
We consider Kallenberg's hypothesis on the characteristic function of a Lévy process and show that it allows the construction of weakly continuous bridges of the Lévy process conditioned to stay positive. We therefore provide a notion of normalized excursions Lévy processes above their cumulative minimum. Our main contribution is the construction of a continuous version of the transition density of the Lévy process conditioned to stay positive by using the weakly continuous bridges of the Lévy process itself. For this, we rely on a method due to Hunt which had only been shown to provide upper …
We discuss in a stochastic framework the interplay between Riemann-Liouville type operators applied to stochastic processes, real interpolation, bounded mean oscillation, and an approximation problem for stochastic integrals. We provide upper and lower bounds for gradient processes on the Lévy-Itô space, which arise in the special case of the Wiener space from the Feynman-Kac theory for parabolic PDEs. The upper bounds are formulated in terms of BMO-conditions on the fractional integrated gradient, the lower bounds in terms of oscillatory quantities. On the general Lévy-Itô space we are concer…
We develop a completely new and straightforward method for simulating the joint law of the position and running maximum at a fixed time of a general Lévy process with a view to application in insurance and financial mathematics. Although different, our method takes lessons from Carr's so-called "Canadization" technique as well as Doney's method of stochastic bounds for Lévy processes; see Carr [Rev. Fin. Studies 11 (1998) 597--626] and Doney [Ann. Probab. 32 (2004) 1545-1552]. We rely fundamentally on the Wiener-Hopf decomposition for Lévy processes as well as taking advantage of recent develo…
These lectures notes aim at introducing Lévy processes in an informal and intuitive way, accessible to non-specialists in the field. In the first part, we focus on the theory of Lévy processes. We analyze a `toy' example of a Lévy process, viz. a Lévy jump-diffusion, which yet offers significant insight into the distributional and path structure of a Lévy process. Then, we present several important results about Lévy processes, such as infinite divisibility and the Lévy-Khintchine formula, the Lévy-Itô decomposition, the Itô formula for Lévy processes and Girsanov's transformation. Some (sketc…
We study a general perturbed risk process with cumulative claims modelled by a subordinator with finite expectation, with the perturbation being a spectrally negative Levy process with zero expectation. We derive a Pollaczek-Hinchin type formula for the survival probability of that risk process, and give an interpretation of the formula based on the decomposition of the dual risk process at modified ladder epochs.
In Kuznetsov et al. (2011) a new Monte Carlo simulation technique was introduced for a large family of Levy processes that is based on the Wiener-Hopf decomposition. We pursue this idea further by combining their technique with the recently introduced multilevel Monte Carlo methodology. Moreover, we provide here for the first time a theoretical analysis of the new Monte Carlo simulation technique in Kuznetsov et al. (2011) and of its multilevel variant for computing expectations of functions depending on the historical trajectory of a Levy process. We derive rates of convergence for both metho…
The identification mentioned in the title allows a formulation of the multidi mensional Favard Lemma different from the ones currently used in the literature and which exactly parallels the original one dimensional formulation in the sense that the positive Jacobi sequence is replaced by a sequence of positive Hermitean (square) matrices and the real Jacobi sequence by a sequence of Hermitean matri ces of the same dimension. Moreover, in this identification, the multidimensional extension of the compatibility condition for the positive Jacobi sequence becomes the condition which guarantees the…
Using the structure of the Boson-Fermion Fock space and an argument taken from [2], we give a new proof of the triviality of the $L^2$ cohomology groups on an abstract Wiener space, alternative to that given by Shigekawa [9]. We apply some representation theory of the symmetric group to characterise the spaces of exact and co-exact forms in their Boson-Fermion Fock space representation.
Let $T=\mathbb R^d$. Let a function $Q:T^2\to\mathbb C$ satisfy $Q(s,t)=\bar{Q(t,s)}$ and $|Q(s,t)|=1$. A generalized statistics is described by creation operators $\partial_t^†$ and annihilation operators $\partial_t$, $t\in T$, which satisfy the $Q$-commutation relations. From the point of view of physics, the most important case of a generalized statistics is the anyon statistics, for which $Q(s,t)$ is equal to $q$ if $s<t$, and to $\bar q$ if $s>t$. Here $q\in\mathbb C$, $|q|=1$. We start the paper with a detailed discussion of a $Q$-Fock space and operators $(\partial_t^†,\partial_t)_{t\i…
In this paper we investigate the argmin process of Brownian motion $B$ defined by $α_t:=\sup\left\{s \in [0,1]: B_{t+s}=\min_{u \in [0,1]}B_{t+u} \right\}$ for $t \geq 0$. The argmin process $α$ is stationary, with invariant measure which is arcsine distributed. We prove that $(α_t; t \geq 0)$ is a Markov process with the Feller property, and provide its transition kernel $Q_t(x,\cdot)$ for $t>0$ and $x \in [0,1]$. Similar results for the argmin process of random walks and Lévy processes are derived. We also consider Brownian extrema of a given length. We prove that these extrema form a delayed…
We study a decomposition of a general Markov process in a manifold invariant under a Lie group action into a radial part (transversal to orbits) and an angular part (along an orbit). We show that given a radial path, the conditioned angular part is a nonhomogeneous \levy process in a homogeneous space, we obtain a representation of such processes, and as a consequence, we extend the well known skew-product of Euclidean Brownian motion to a general setting.
Schuermann's theory of quantum Levy processes, and more generally the theory of quantum stochastic convolution cocycles, is extended to the topological context of compact quantum groups and operator space coalgebras. Quantum stochastic convolution cocycles on a C*-hyperbialgebra, which are Markov-regular, completely positive and contractive, are shown to satisfy coalgebraic quantum stochastic differential equations with completely bounded coefficients, and the structure of their stochastic generators is obtained. Automatic complete boundedness of a class of derivations is established, leading …
The purpose of this review article is to give an up to date account of the theory and application of scale functions for spectrally negative Levy processes. Our review also includes the first extensive overview of how to work numerically with scale functions. Aside from being well acquainted with the general theory of probability, the reader is assumed to have some elementary knowledge of Levy processes, in particular a reasonable understanding of the Levy-Khintchine formula and its relationship to the Levy-Ito decomposition. We shall also touch on more general topics such as excursion theory …
Levy processes, which have stationary independent increments, are ideal for modelling the various types of noise that can arise in communication channels. If a Levy process admits exponential moments, then there exists a parametric family of measure changes called Esscher transformations. If the parameter is replaced with an independent random variable, the true value of which represents a "message", then under the transformed measure the original Levy process takes on the character of an "information process". In this paper we develop a theory of such Levy information processes. The underlyin…
We consider a Poisson process $Φ$ on a general phase space. The expectation of a function of $Φ$ can be considered as a functional of the intensity measure $λ$ of $Φ$. Extending earlier results of Molchanov and Zuyev [Math. Oper. Res. 25 (2010) 485-508] on finite Poisson processes, we study the behaviour of this functional under signed (possibly infinite) perturbations of $λ$. In particular, we obtain general Margulis-Russo type formulas for the derivative with respect to non-linear transformations of the intensity measure depending on some parameter. As an application, we study the behaviour …
The running infimum of a Levy process relative to its point of issue is know to have the same range that of the negative of a certain subordinator. Conditioning a Levy process issued from a strictly positive value to stay positive may therefore be seen as implicitly conditioning its descending ladder heigh subordinator to remain in a strip. Motivated by this observation, we consider the general problem of conditioning a subordinator to remain in a strip. Thereafter we consider more general contexts in which subordinators embedded in the path decompositions of Markov processes are conditioned t…
Bañuelos and Bogdan (2004) and Bogdan, Palmowski and Wang (2016) analyse the asymptotic tail distribution of the first time a stable (Lévy) process in dimension $d\geq 2$ exists a cone. We use these results to develop the notion of a stable process conditioned to remain in a cone as well as the the notion of a stable process conditioned to absorb continuously at the apex of a cone (without leaving the cone). As self-similar Markov processes we examine some of their fundamental properties through the lens of its Lamperti-Kiu decomposition. In particular we are interested to understand the under…
