Cylindrical probability measures are finitely additive measures on Banach spaces that have sigma-additive projections to Euclidean spaces of all dimensions. They are naturally associated to notions of weak (cylindrical) random variable and hence weak (cylindrical) stochastic processes. In this paper we focus on cylindrical Levy processes. These have (weak) Levy-Ito decompositions and an associated Levy-Khintchine formula. If the process is weakly square integrable, its covariance operator can be used to construct a reproducing kernel Hilbert space in which the process has a decomposition as an infinite series built from a sequence of uncorrelated bona fide one-dimensional Levy processes. This series is used to define cylindrical stochastic integrals from which cylindrical Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes may be constructed as unique solutions of the associated Cauchy problem. We demonstrate that such processes are cylindrical Markov processes and study their (cylindrical) invariant measures.
In this work stochastic integration with respect to cylindrical Levy processes with weak second moments is introduced. It is well known that a deterministic Hilbert-Schmidt operator radonifies a cylindrical random variable, i.e. it maps a cylindrical random variable to a classical Hilbert space valued random variable. Our approach is based on a generalisation of this result to the radonification of the cylindrical increments of a cylindrical Levy process by random Hilbert-Schmidt operators. This generalisation enables us to introduce a Hilbert space valued random variable as the stochastic int…
In this article we introduce a theory of integration for deterministic, operator-valued integrands with respect to cylindrical Lévy processes in separable Banach spaces. Here, a cylindrical Lévy process is understood in the classical framework of cylindrical random variables and cylindrical measures, and thus, it can be considered as a natural generalisation of cylindrical Wiener processes or white noises. Depending on the underlying Banach space, we provide necessary and/or sufficient conditions for a function to be integrable. In the last part, the developed theory is applied to define Ornst…
We introduce a stochastic integral with respect to cylindrical Lévy processes with finite $p$-th weak moment for $p\in [1,2]$. The space of integrands consists of $p$-summing operators between Banach spaces of martingale type $p$. We apply the developed integration theory to establish the existence of a solution for a stochastic evolution equation driven by a cylindrical Lévy process.
In this article, the existence of a unique solution in the variational approach of the stochastic evolution equation $$\dX(t) = F(X(t)) \dt + G(X(t)) \dL(t)$$ driven by a cylindrical Lévy process $L$ is established. The coefficients $F$ and $G$ are assumed to satisfy the usual monotonicity and coercivity conditions. The noise is modelled by a cylindrical Lévy processes which is assumed to belong to a certain subclass of cylindrical Lévy processes and may not have finite moments.
We introduce and discuss Lévy-type cylindrical martingale problems on separable reflexive Banach spaces. Our main observations are the following: Cylindrical martingale problems have a one-to-one relation to weak solutions of stochastic partial differential equations. Moreover, well-posed problems possess the strong Markov property and a Cameron-Martin-Girsanov-type formula holds. As applications, we derive existence and uniqueness results.
In this work, we consider the stochastic Cauchy problem driven by the canonical $α$-stable cylindrical Lévy process. This noise naturally generalises the cylindrical Brownian motion or space-time Gaussian white noise. We derive a sufficient and necessary condition for the existence of the weak and mild solution of the stochastic Cauchy problem and establish the temporal irregularity of the solution.
In this work, we derive sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of a weak and mild solution of an abstract stochastic Cauchy problem driven by an arbitrary cylindrical Levy process. Our approach requires to establish a stochastic Fubini result for stochastic integrals with respect to cylindrical Levy processes. This approach enables us to conclude that the solution process has almost surely scalarly square integrable paths. Further properties of the solution such as the Markov property and stochastic continuity are derived.
In this work, we present sufficient conditions for the existence of a stationary solution of an abstract stochastic Cauchy problem driven by an arbitrary cylindrical Lévy process, and show that these conditions are also necessary if the semigroup is stable, in which case the invariant measure is unique. For typical situations such as the heat equation, we significantly simplify these conditions without assuming any further restrictions on the driving cylindrical Lévy process and demonstrate their application in some examples.
A cylindrical Levy process does not enjoy a cylindrical version of the semi-martingale decomposition which results in the need to develop a completely novel approach to stochastic integration. In this work, we introduce a stochastic integral for random integrands with respect to cylindrical Levy processes in Hilbert spaces. The space of admissible integrands consists of adapted stochastic processes with values in the space of Hilbert-Schmidt operators. Neither the integrands nor the integrator is required to satisfy any moment or boundedness condition. The integral process is characterised as …
In this work, we introduce a theory of stochastic integration with respect to symmetric $α$-stable cylindrical Lévy processes. Since $α$-stable cylindrical Lévy processes do not enjoy a semi-martingale decomposition, our approach is based on a decoupling inequality for the tangent sequence of the Radonified increments. This approach enables us to characterise the largest space of predictable Hilbert-Schmidt operator-valued processes which are integrable with respect to an $α$-stable cylindrical Lévy process as the collection of all predictable processes with paths in the Bochner space $L^α$. W…
We prove limit theorems for cylindrical martingale problems associated to Lévy generators. Furthermore, we give sufficient and necessary conditions for the Feller property of well-posed problems with continuous coefficients. We discuss two applications. First, we derive continuity and linear growth conditions for the existence of weak solutions to infinite-dimensional stochastic differential equations driven by Lévy noise. Second, we derive continuity, local boundedness and linear growth conditions for limit theorems and the Feller property of weak solutions to stochastic partial differential …
In this work infinitely divisible cylindrical probability measures on arbitrary Banach spaces are introduced. The class of infinitely divisible cylindrical probability measures is described in terms of their characteristics, a characterisation which is not known in general for infinitely divisible Radon measures on Banach spaces. Further properties of infinitely divisible cylindrical measures such as continuity are derived. Moreover, the result on the classification enables us to conclude new results on genuine Levy measures on Banach spaces.
A calculus on Lévy exponents and selfdecomposability on Banach spaces
在无限维巴拿赫空间中,没有关于无穷可分概率测度的Lévy指数的完全刻画.在这里,我们提出了\emph{a calculus on Lévy exponents},这是来自一些随机积分。
In this article we introduce cylindrical fractional Brownian motions in Banach spaces and develop the related stochastic integration theory. Here a cylindrical fractional Brownian motion is understood in the classical framework of cylindrical random variables and cylindrical measures. The developed stochastic integral for deterministic operator valued integrands is based on a series representation of the cylindrical fractional Brownian motion, which is analogous to the Karhunen-Loève expansion for genuine stochastic processes. In the last part we apply our results to study the abstract stochas…
This article deals with the limit distribution for a stochastic differential equation driven by a non-symmetric cylindrical $α$-stable process. Under suitable conditions, it is proved that the solution of this equation converges weakly to that of a stochastic differential equation driven by a Brownian motion in the Skorohod space as $α\rightarrow2$. Also, the rate of weak convergence, which depends on $ 2-α$, for the solution towards the solution of the limit equation is obtained. For illustration, the results are applied to a simple one-dimensional stochastic differential equation, which impl…
For a general càdlàg Lévy process on a separable Banach space $V$ we estimate values of $\inf_{Y\in{\cal A}_X} \mathbb{E}\left\{ ψ\left( \Vert X - Y \Vert_\infty\right) + \mathrm{TV}(Y[0,T]) \right\}$, where ${\cal A}_X$ is the family of processes on $V$ adapted to the natural filtration of $X$, $ψ$ has polynomial growth and TV$(Y[0,T])$ denotes the total variation of the process $Y$ on the interval $[0,T]$. Next, we apply obtained estimates in three specific cases: a Brownian motion with drift on $\mathbb{R}$, a standard Brownian motion on $\mathbb{R}^d$ and a symmetric $α$-stable process ($α…
We study convergence to the invariant measure for a class of semilinear stochastic evolution equations driven by Lévy noise, including the case of cylindrical noise. For a certain class of equations we prove the exponential rate of convergence in the norm of total variation. Our general result is applied to a number of specific equations driven by cylindrical symmetric $α$-stable noise and/or cylindrical Wiener noise. We also consider the case of a "singular" Wiener process with unbounded covariance operator. In particular, in the equation with diagonal pure $α$-stable cylindrical noise introd…
We study an infinite-dimensional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process $(X_t)$ in a given Hilbert space $H$. This is driven by a cylindrical symmetric Lévy process without a Gaussian component and taking values in a Hilbert space $U$ which usually contains $H$. We give if and only if conditions under which $X_t$ takes values in $H$ for some $t>0$ or for all $t>0$. Moreover, we prove irreducibility for $(X_t)$.
We present remarkably simple proofs of Burkholder-Davis-Gundy inequalities for stochastic integrals and maximal inequalities for stochastic convolutions in Banach spaces driven by Lévy-type processes. Exponential estimates for stochastic convolutions are obtained and two versions of Itô's formula in Banach spaces are also derived. Based on the obtained maximal inequality, the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions of stochastic quasi-geostrophic equation with Lévy noise is established.
In this work we introduce a theory of stochastic integration for operator-valued integrands with respect to some classes of cylindrical martingale-valued measures in Hilbert spaces. The integral is constructed via the radonification of cylindrical martingales by a Hilbert-Schmidt operator theorem and unifies several other theories of stochastic integration in Hilbert spaces. In particular, our theory covers the theory of stochastic integration with respect to a Hilbert space valued Lévy process (which is not required to satisfy any moment condition), with respect to a cylindrical Lévy processe…
By using lower bound conditions of the Lévy measure w.r.t. a nice reference measure, the coupling and strong Feller properties are investigated for the Markov semigroup associated with a class of linear SDEs driven by (non-cylindrical) Lévy processes on a Banach space. Unlike in the finite-dimensional case where these properties have also been confirmed for Lévy processes without drift, in the infinite-dimensional setting the appearance of a drift term is essential to ensure the quasi-invariance of the process by shifting the initial data. Gradient estimates and exponential convergence are als…
Based on the theory of independently scattered random measures, we introduce a natural generalisation of Gaussian space-time white noise to a Levy-type setting, which we call Levy-valued random measures. We determine the subclass of cylindrical Levy processes which correspond to Levy-valued random measures, and describe the elements of this subclass uniquely by their characteristic function. We embed the Levy-valued random measure, or the corresponding cylindrical Levy process, in the space of general and tempered distributions. For the latter case, we show that this embedding is possible if a…
We provide a Lévy-Itô decomposition of sample paths of Lévy processes with values in complete locally convex Suslin spaces. This class of state spaces contains the well investigated examples of separable Banach spaces, as well as Fréchet or distribution spaces among many others. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a pathwise compensated Poisson integral handling infinite activity of the Lévy process are given.
We review the probabilistic properties of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes in Hilbert spaces driven by Lévy processes. The emphasis is on the different contexts in which these processes arise, such as stochastic partial differential equations, continuous-state branching processes, generalised Mehler semigroups and operator self-decomposable distributions. We also examine generalisations to the case where the driving noise is cylindrical.
In the present work, we establish the approximation of nonlinear stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) driven by cylindrical α-stable Lévy processes via modulation or amplitude equations. We study SPDEs with a cubic nonlinearity, where the deterministic equation is close to a change of stability of the trivial solution. The natural separation of time-scales close to this bifurcation allows us to obtain an amplitude equation describing the essential dynamics of the bifurcating pattern, thus reducing the original infinite dimensional dynamics to a simpler finite-dimensional effective d…
Let $Φ$ be a locally convex space and let $Φ'$ denote its strong dual. In this paper we introduce sufficient conditions for the existence of a continuous or a càdlàg $Φ'$-valued version to a cylindrical process defined on $Φ$. Our result generalizes many other known results on the literature and their different connections will be discussed. As an application, we use our results to show the existence of a $Φ'$-valued càdlàg Lévy process version to a given cylindrical Lévy process in $Φ'$.
Using backward propagators, we construct inhomogeneous Random Evolutions on Banach spaces driven by (uniformly ergodic) Semi-Markov processes. After studying some of their properties (measurability, continuity, integral representation), we establish a Law of Large Numbers for such inhomogeneous Random Evolutions, and more precisely their weak convergence - in the Skorohod space $D$ - to an inhomogeneous semigroup. A martingale characterization of these inhomogeneous Random Evolutions is also obtained. Finally, we present applications to inhomogeneous Lévy Random Evolutions.
We study the convergence in probability in the non-standard $M_1$ Skorokhod topology of the Hilbert valued stochastic convolution integrals of the type $\int_0^t F_γ(t-s)\,d L(s)$ to a process $\int_0^t F(t-s)\, d L(s)$ driven by a Lévy process $L$. In Banach spaces we introduce strong, weak and product modes of $M_1$-convergence, prove a criterion for the $M_1$-convergence in probability of stochastically continuous càdlàg processes in terms of the convergence in probability of the finite dimensional marginals and a good behaviour of the corresponding oscillation functions, and establish crit…
We investigate the concept of cylindrical Wiener process subordinated to a strictly $α$-stable Lévy process, with $α\in\left(0,1\right)$, in an infinite dimensional, separable Hilbert space, and consider the related stochastic convolution. We then introduce the corresponding Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process, focusing on the regularizing properties of the Markov transition semigroup defined by it. In particular, we provide an explicit, original formula -- which is not of Bismut-Elworthy-Li's type -- for the Gateaux derivatives of the functions generated by the operators of the semigroup, as well as a…
L.Accardi shows that the Banach space of singed measures is homeomorphic to the Hilbert space formed by so-called root measures. In this paper, we redefine root measures in view of the theory of measures on infinite dimensional spaces, and introduce a notion of differentiation, Fourier transform, and convolution product for root measures, and examine those relations. We also study about Lévy Laplacian on Wiener space as application. It is shown that the symbol of Lévy Laplacian is equal to the quadratic variation of paths.
The general problem of how to construct stochastic processes which are confined to stay in a predefined cone (in the one-dimensional but also multi-dimensional case also referred to as \emph{subordinators}) is of course known to be of great importance in the theory and a myriad of applications.\par But fuzzy stochastic processes are considered in this context for the first time in this paper:\par By first relating with each proper convex cone $C$ in $\R^{n}$ a certain cone of fuzzy vectors $C^*$ and subsequently using some specific Banach space techniques we have been able to produce as many p…
We show that the lift zonoid concept for a probability measure on R^d, introduced in (Koshevoy and Mosler, 1997), leads naturally to a one-to one representation of any interior point of the convex hull of the support of a continuous measure as the barycenter w.r.t. to this measure of either of a half-space, or the whole space. We prove the infinite-dimensional generalization of this representation, which is based on the extension of the lift-zonoid concept for a cylindrical probability measure.
In this article we illustrate the relation between the existence of Wiener integrals with respect to a Levy process in a separable Banach space and radonifying operators. For this purpose, we introduce the class of theta-radonifying operators, i.e. operators which map a cylindrical measure theta to a genuine Radon measure. We study this class of operators for various examples of infinitely divisible cylindrical measures theta and highlight the differences from the Gaussian case.
We introduce the local martingale problem associated to semilinear stochastic evolution equations driven by a cylindrical Wiener process and establish a one-to-one correspondence between solutions of the martingale problem and (analytically) weak solutions of the stochastic equation. We also prove that the solutions of well-posed equations are strong Markov processes. We apply our results to semilinear stochastic equations with additive noise where the semilinear term is merely measurable and to stochastic reaction-diffusion equations with Hölder continuous multiplicative noise.
In this article we investigate the existence and uniqueness of the stochastic Volterra equation driven by a \levy noise of pure jump type. In particular, we consider the following type of equation $ du(t) = ( A\int_0 ^t b(t-s) u(s)\,ds) \, dt + F(t,u(t))\,dt+ \int_ZG(t,u(t), z) \tilde η(dz,dt) + \int_{Z_L}G_L(t,u(t), z) η_L(dz,dt) ;\, t\in (0,T], $, $u(0)=u_0$, where $Z$ and $Z_L$ are Banach spaces, $\tilde η$ is a time-homogeneous compensated Poisson random measure on $Z$ with \levy measure $ν$ capturing the small jumps, and $η_L$ is a time-homogeneous Poisson random measure on $Z_L$ with fin…
We prove a generalisation of Fernique's theorem which applies to a class of (measurable) functionals on abstract Wiener spaces by using the isoperimetric inequality. Our motivation comes from rough path theory where one deals with iterated integrals of Gaussian processes (which are generically not Gaussian). Gaussian integrability with explicitly given constants for variation and Hölder norms of the (fractional) Brownian rough path, Gaussian rough paths and the Banach space valued Wiener process enhanced with its Lévy area [Ledoux, Lyons, Quian. "Lévy area of Wiener processes in Banach spaces"…
We will give a proof of the following fact. If $\mathfrak{A}_1$ and $\mathfrak{A}_2$, $\tilde η_1$ and $\tilde η_2$, $ξ_1$ and $ξ_2$ are two examples of filtered probability spaces, time homogeneous compensated Poisson random measures, and progressively measurable Banach space valued processes such that the laws on $L^p([0,T],{L}^{p}(Z,ν;E))\times \CM_I([0,T]\times Z)$ of the pairs $(ξ_1,η_1)$ and $(ξ_2,η_2)$ %, $i=1,2$, are equal, and $u_1$ and $u_2$ are the corresponding stochastic convolution processes, then the laws on $ (\DD([0,T];X)\cap L^p([0,T];B)) \times L^p([0,T],{L}^{p}(Z,ν;E))\time…
We study a class of stochastic evolution equations in a Banach space $E$ driven by cylindrical Wiener process. Three different concept of solutions: generalised strong, weak and mild are defined and the conditions under which they are equivalent are given. We apply this result to prove existence, uniqueness and continuity of weak solutions to stochastic delay equation with additive noise. We also consider two examples of these equations in non-reflexive Banach spaces: a stochastic transport equation with delay and a stochastic McKendrick equation with delay.
In this paper we develop a stochastic integration theory for processes with values in a quasi-Banach space. The integrator is a cylindrical Brownian motion. The main results give sufficient conditions for stochastic integrability. They are natural extensions of known results in the Banach space setting. We apply our main results to the stochastic heat equation where the forcing terms are assumed to have Besov regularity in the space variable with integrability exponent $p\in (0,1]$. The latter is natural to consider for its potential application to adaptive wavelet methods for stochastic parti…
We study an optimal relaxed control problem for a class of semilinear stochastic PDEs on Banach spaces perturbed by multiplicative noise and driven by a cylindrical Wiener process. The state equation is controlled through the nonlinear part of the drift coefficient which satisfies a dissipative-type condition with respect to the state variable. The main tools of our study are the factorization method for stochastic convolutions in UMD type-2 Banach spaces and certain compactness properties of the factorization operator and of the class of Young measures on Suslin metrisable control sets.
In this paper we define a new type of quadratic variation for cylindrical continuous local martingales on an infinite dimensional spaces. It is shown that a large class of cylindrical continuous local martingales has such a quadratic variation. For this new class of cylindrical continuous local martingales we develop a stochastic integration theory for operator valued processes under the condition that the range space is a UMD Banach space. We obtain two-sided estimates for the stochastic integral in terms of the $γ$-norm. In the scalar or Hilbert case this reduces to the Burkholder-Davis-Gund…
We develop a novel theory of weak and strong stochastic integration for cylindrical martingale-valued measures taking values in the dual of a nuclear space. This is applied to develop a theory of SPDEs with rather general coefficients. In particular, we can then study SPDEs driven by general Lévy processes in this context.
This work is devoted to the study of semimartingales on the dual of a general nuclear space. We start by establishing conditions for a cylindrical semimartingale in the strong dual $Φ'$ of a nuclear space $Φ$ to have a $Φ'$-valued semimartingale version whose paths are right-continuous with left limits. Results of similar nature but for more specific classes of cylindrical semimartingales and examples are also provided. Later, we will show that under some general conditions every semimartingale taking values in the dual of a nuclear space has a canonical representation. The concept of predicta…
