Higher Chow Cycles on an Abelian Surface and a non-Archimedean analogue of the Hodge-D-conjecture

We construct new indecomposable elements in the higher Chow group CH2(A,1) of a principally polarized Abelian surface over a non Archimedean local field, which generalize an element constructed by Collino. These elements are constructed using a generalization, due to Birkenhake and Wilhelm, of a classical construction of Humbert, along with some recent work of Bogomolov, Hassett and Tschinkel on deformations of rational curves on a K3 surface. On good reduction of some K3 surfaces related to abelian surfaces

The Neron--Ogg--Safarevic criterion for abelian varieties tells that whether an abelian variety has good reduction or not can be determined from the Galois action on its l-adic etale cohomology. We prove an analogue of this criterion for some special kind of K3 surfaces (those which admit Shioda--Inose structures of product type), which are deeply related to abelian surfaces. We also prove a p-adic analogue. This paper includes Ito's unpublished result for Kummer surfaces.

Equivariant analogue of Grothendieck's theorem for vector bundles on $\Bbb{P}^1$

We prove an equivariant analogue of Grothendieck's theorem for vector bundles on the one dimensional projective space over complex numbers.

An analogue of Liouville's Theorem and an application to cubic surfaces

We prove a strong analogue of Liouville's Theorem in Diophantine approximation for points on arbitrary algebraic varieties. We use this theorem to prove a conjecture of the first author for cubic surfaces in $¶^3$.

Brauer-Siegel theorem for elliptic surfaces

We extend the usual projective Abel-Radon transform to the larger context of a smooth complete toric variety X. We define and study toric concavity attached to an algebraic splitting vector bundle on X and we prove a toric version of the Abel-inverse theorem.

The Second Main Theorem for Holomorphic Curves into Semi-Abelian Varieties

Theta groups and products of abelian and rational varieties

We prove that an analogue of Jordan's theorem on finite subgroups of general linear groups does not hold for the groups of birational automorphisms of products of an elliptic curve and the projective line. This gives a negative answer to a question of V. L. Popov, arXiv:1001.1311 [math.AG].

Riemann-Roch and Abel-Jacobi theory on a finite graph

It is well-known that a finite graph can be viewed, in many respects, as a discrete analogue of a Riemann surface. In this paper, we pursue this analogy further in the context of linear equivalence of divisors. In particular, we formulate and prove a graph-theoretic analogue of the classical Riemann-Roch theorem. We also prove several results, analogous to classical facts about Riemann surfaces, concerning the Abel-Jacobi map from a graph to its Jacobian. An analogue of Hilbert's Syzygy Theorem for the algebra of one-sided inverses of a polynomial algebra

An analogue of Hilbert's Syzygy Theorem is proved for the algebra $\mS_n (A)$ of one-sided inverses of the polynomial algebra $A[x_1, ..., x_n]$ over an arbitrary ring $A$: $$ \lgldim (\mS_n(A))= \lgldim (A) +n.$$ The algebra $\mS_n(A)$ is noncommutative, neither left nor right Noetherian and not a domain. The proof is based on a generalization of the Theorem of Kaplansky (on the projective dimension) obtained in the paper. As a consequence it is proved that for a left or right Noetherian algebra $A$: $$ \wdim (\mS_n(A))= \wdim (A) +n.$$
