We consider some special type extensions of an arbitrary Lie algebra, which we call universal extensions. We show that these extensions are in one-to-one correspondence with finite dimensional associative commutative algebras. We also construct a special kind of these extensions, that correspond to a finite commutative monoids.
We consider the Casimir Invariants related to some a special kind of Lie-algebra extensions, called universal extensions. We show that these invariants can be studied using the equivalence between the universal extensions and the commutative algebras and consider in detail the so called coextension structures, arising in the calculation of the Casimir functions.
We show that any CPA-structure (commutative post-Lie algebra structure) on a perfect Lie algebra is trivial. Furthermore we give a general decomposition of inner CPA-structures, and classify all CPA-structures on parabolic subalgebras of simple Lie algebras.
We determine commutative post-Lie algebra structures on some infinite-dimensional Lie algebras. We show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on loop algebras are trivial. This extends the results for finite-dimensional perfect Lie algebras. Furthermore we show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on affine Kac--Moody Lie algebras are "almost trivial".
We give an explicit description of commutative post-Lie algebra structures on some classes of nilpotent Lie algebras. For non-metabelian filiform nilpotent Lie algebras and Lie algebras of strictly upper-triangular matrices we show that all CPA-structures are associative and induce an associated Poisson-admissible algebra.
In this paper, we characterize the biderivations of Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra. We get a classes of non-inner and non-skewsymmetric biderivations. As application, we characterize the commutative post-Lie algebra structures on Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra.
In this paper, by using Composition-Diamond lemma for Lie algebras, we give a Gröbner-Shirshov basis for free partially commutative Lie algebra over a commutative ring with unit. As an application, we obtain a normal form for such a Lie algebra.
In this paper, the complete description of centralizers of elements in partially commutative Lie algebras is obtained. The description is given explicitly in the terms of generators.
In this paper, we consider partially commutative metabelian Lie algebras whose defining graphs are cycles. We show that such algebras are universally equivalent iff the corresponding cycles have the same length. Moreover, we give an example showing that the class of partially commutative metabelian Lie algebras such that their defining graphs are trees is not separable by universal theory in the class of all partially commutative metabelian Lie algebras.
Let $R$ be a finite commutative ring with identity. In this paper, we give a necessary condition for the existence of an orthogonal decomposition of the special linear Lie algebra over $R$. Additionally, we study orthogonal decompositions of the symplectic Lie algebra and the special orthogonal Lie algebra over $R$.
For $a,b\in \mathbb{C}$, the Lie algebra $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ is the semidirect product of the Witt algebra and a module of the intermediate series. In this paper, all biderivations of $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ are determined. Surprisingly, these Lie algebras have symmetric (and skewsymmetric) non-inner biderivations. As an applications, commutative post-Lie algebra structures on $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ are obtained.
On Lie algebras, we study commutative 2-cocycles, i.e., symmetric bilinear forms satisfying the usual cocycle equation. We note their relationship with antiderivations and compute them for some classes of Lie algebras, including finite-dimensional semisimple, current and Kac-Moody algebras.
In this paper, we find a criterium for universal equivalence of partially commutative Lie algebras whose defining graphs are trees. Besides, we obtain bases for partially commutative metabelian Lie algebras.
In this paper, linear bases for the partially commutative Lie algebras are found. The method of the Gröbner--Shirshov bases is used. It easily follows from the structure that the equality problem is algorithmically solvable for the partially commutative Lie algebras.
Universal enveloping commutative Rota-Baxter algebras of pre- and postcommutative algebras are constructed. We prove that the pair of varieties (commutative Rota-Baxter algebras of nonzero weight, postcommutative algebras) is a PBW-pair and the pair (commutative Rota-Baxter algebras of zero weight, precommutative algebras) is not.
In this paper we establish a Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory for Lie algebras over commutative rings. As applications we give some new examples of special Lie algebras (those embeddable in associative algebras over the same ring) and non-special Lie algebras (following a suggestion of P.M. Cohn (1963) \cite{Conh}). In particular, Cohn's Lie algebras over the characteristic $p$ are non-special when $p=2,\ 3,\ 5$. We present an algorithm that one can check for any $p$, whether Cohn's Lie algebras is non-special. Also we prove that any finitely or countably generated Lie algebra is embeddable in a …
One of the natural ways to prove that the Hall words (Philip Hall, 1933) consist of a basis of a free Lie algebra is a direct construction: to start with a linear space spanned by Hall words, to define the Lie product of Hall words, and then to check that the product yields the Lie identities (Marshall Hall, 1950). Here we suggest another way using the Composition-Diamond lemma for free anti-commutative (non-associative) algebras (A.I. Shirshov, 1962).
We show that for a given nilpotent Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with $Z(\mathfrak{g})\subseteq [\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{g}]$ all commutative post-Lie algebra structures, or CPA-structures, on $\mathfrak{g}$ are complete. This means that all left and all right multiplication operators in the algebra are nilpotent. Then we study CPA-structures on free-nilpotent Lie algebras $F_{g,c}$ and discover a strong relationship to solving systems of linear equations of type $[x,u]+[y,v]=0$ for generator pairs $x,y\in F_{g,c}$. We use results of Remeslennikov and Stöhr concerning these equations to prove that…
In the present paper we prove that every 2-local inner derivation on the Lie ring of skew-adjoint matrices over a commutative $*$-ring is an inner derivation. We also apply our technique to various Lie algebras of infinite-dimensional skew-adjoint matrix-valued maps on a set and prove that every 2-local spatial derivation on such algebras is a spatial derivation. We also show that every local spatial derivation on the above Lie algebras is a derivation.
We obtain the functions that bound the dimensions of finite dimensional nilpotent associative or Lie algebras of class 2 over an algebraically closed field in terms of the dimensions of their commutative subalgebras. As a result, we also compute a similar function for complex nilpotent Lie groups of class 2.
In this work, we extend the definition of the graded prime ideals from those in commutative graded rings to the ideals over graded Lie algebras. We prove some facts about graded prime Lie ideals in arbitrary Lie algebras that are similar to those about graded prime ideals over a commutative or non-commutative ring.In addition, the ideas of graded semiprime Lie ideals and graded total prime Lie ideals will be introduced.
We establish results about the second cohomology with coefficients in the trivial module, symmetric invariant bilinear forms and derivations of a Lie algebra extended over a commutative associative algebra without unit. These results provide a simple unified approach to a number of questions treated earlier in completely separated ways: periodization of semisimple Lie algebras (Anna Larsson), derivation algebras, with prescribed semisimple part, of nilpotent Lie algebras (Benoist), and presentations of affine Kac-Moody algebras.
Let $\mathbb{K}$ be an infinite field. We prove that if a variety of anti-commutative $\mathbb{K}$-algebras - not necessarily associative, where $xx=0$ is an identity - is locally algebraically cartesian closed, then it must be a variety of Lie algebras over $\mathbb{K}$. In particular, $\mathsf{Lie}_{\mathbb{K}}$ is the largest such. Thus, for a given variety of anti-commutative $\mathbb{K}$-algebras, the Jacobi identity becomes equivalent to a categorical condition: it is an identity in~$\mathcal{V}$ if and only if $\mathcal{V}$ is a subvariety of a locally algebraically cartesian closed var…
We consider the functions that bound the dimensions of finite-dimensional associative or Lie algebras in terms of the dimensions of their commutative subalgebras. It is proved that these functions have quadratic growth. As a result, we also get similar estimates for the dimension of a Lie group with bounded dimensions of its abelian Lie subgroups.
Let $R$ be a commutative integral unital domain and $L$ a free non-commutative Lie algebra over $R$. In this paper we show that the ring $R$ and its action on $L$ are 0-interpretable in $L$, viewed as a ring with the standard ring language $+, \cdot,0$. Furthermore, if $R$ has characteristic zero then we prove that the elementary theory $Th(L)$ of $L$ in the standard ring language is undecidable. To do so we show that the arithmetic ${\bf N} = \langle{\bf N}, +,\cdot,0 \rangle$ is 0-interpretable in $L$. This implies that the theory of $Th(L)$ has the independence property. These results answe…
We determine normal forms of the multiplication of four-dimensional anti-commutative algebras over a field $\mathbb K$ of characteristic zero having an analogous family of flags of subalgebras as the four-dimensional non-Lie binary Lie algebras, and hence can be considered as the closest relatives of binary Lie algebras. These algebras are extensions of $\mathbb K$ by the 3-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra and at the same time extensions of a two-dimensional Lie algebra by a two-dimensional abelian algebra. We describe their groups of automorphisms as extensions of a subgroup of the group of …
Orthogonal decomposition of the special linear Lie algebra over the complex numbers was studied in the early 1980s and attracted further attentions in the past decade due to its application in quantum information theory. In this paper, we study this decomposition problem of the special linear Lie algebra over a finite commutative ring with identity.
Chen, Fox, Lyndon 1958 \cite{CFL58} and Shirshov 1958 \cite{Sh58} introduced non-associative Lyndon-Shirshov words and proved that they form a linear basis of a free Lie algebra, independently. In this paper we give another approach to definition of Lyndon-Shirshov basis, i.e., we find an anti-commutative Gröbner-Shirshov basis $S$ of a free Lie algebra such that $Irr(S)$ is the set of all non-associative Lyndon-Shirshov words, where $Irr(S)$ is the set of all monomials of $N(X)$, a basis of the free anti-commutative algebra on $X$, not containing maximal monomials of polynomials from $S$. Fol…
In this paper, we introduce the definition of free product of operads, following the definition of a free product of algebras. There is a given method of finding the basis and dimension of the free product of operads. By anti-commutative operation, Lie-admissible algebra gives Lie algebra. We proved that Lie-admissible operad isomorphic to the free product of Lie and commutative(non-associative) operads.
Over a field of characteristic zero, we show that the forgetful functor from the homotopy category of commutative dg algebras to the homotopy category of dg associative algebras is faithful. In fact, the induced map of derived mapping spaces gives an injection on all homotopy groups at any basepoint. We prove similar results both for unital and non-unital algebras, and also Koszul dually for the universal enveloping algebra functor from dg Lie algebras to dg associative algebras. An important ingredient is a natural model for these derived mapping spaces as Maurer-Cartan spaces of complete fil…
We study post-Lie algebra structures on pairs of Lie algebras $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{n})$, motivated by nil-affine actions of Lie groups. We prove existence results for such structures depending on the interplay of the algebraic structures of $\mathfrak{g}$ and $\mathfrak{n}$. We consider the classes of simple, semisimple, reductive, perfect, solvable, nilpotent, abelian and unimodular Lie algebras. Furthermore we consider commutative post-Lie algebra structures on perfect Lie algebras. Using Lie algebra cohomology we prove that such structures are trivial in several cases. We classify commu…
We develop the theory of a category ${\mathscr C}_A$ which is a generalisation to non-restricted ${\mathfrak g}$-modules of a category famously studied by Andersen, Jantzen and Soergel for restricted ${\mathfrak g}$-modules, where ${\mathfrak g}$ is the Lie algebra of a reductive group $G$ over an algebraically closed field ${\mathbb K}$ of characteristic $p>0$. Its objects are certain graded bimodules. On the left, they are graded modules over an algebra $U_χ$ associated to ${\mathfrak g}$ and to $χ\in{\mathfrak g}^{*}$ in standard Levi form. On the right, they are modules over a commutative …
Filipov proved that Jacobian algebra is n-Lie. In our paper we consider algebras defined on associative commutative algebra U with derivation $\der$ by (k+1)-multiplication $V^{0,1,...,k}=\der^0\wedge\der^1\wedge...\wedge \der^k$ (Wronskian). We study whether they have (k+1)-Lie, k-left commutative and homotopical (k+1)-Lie structures.
In this paper we will explain an interesting phenomenon which occurs in general nonassociative algebras. More precisely, we establish that any finite-dimensional commutative nonassociative algebra over a field satisfying an identity always contains $\frac12$ in its Peirce spectrum. We also show that the corresponding $\frac12$-Peirce module satisfies the Jordan type fusion laws. The present approach is based on an explicit representation of the Peirce polynomial for an arbitrary algebra identity. To work with fusion rules, we develop the concept of the Peirce symbol and show that it can be exp…
In this note, we prove an obstruction theorem for the existence of A infinite-structures over a commutative ring R on an algebra A associative up to homotopy, in terms of the Hochschild cohomology of the associative algebra H(A). The hidden purpose of the note is to show that there are no assumptions needed on the commutative ring R nor bounded assumptions on the complex A.
We study different types of localisations of a commutative noetherian ring. More precisely, we provide criteria to decide: (a) if a given flat ring epimorphism is a universal localisation in the sense of Cohn and Schofield; and (b) when such universal localisations are classical rings of fractions. In order to find such criteria, we use the theory of support and we analyse the specialisation closed subset associated to a flat ring epimorphism. In case the underlying ring is locally factorial or of Krull dimension one, we show that all flat ring epimorphisms are universal localisations. Moreove…
Let $k$ be an arbitrary field and $d$ a positive integer. For each degenerate symmetric or antisymmetric bilinear form $M$ on $k^{d}$ we determine the structure of the Lie algebra of matrices that preserve $M$, and of the Lie algebra of matrices that preserve the subspace spanned by $M$. We show that these Lie algebras are semidirect products of classical Lie algebras and certain representations, and determine their radicals, derived series and semisimple quotients. Our main motivation and application is to determine the structure of the graded Lie algebra of derivations of each commutative or…
Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$. For a loop $\circlearrowleft$, denote its path coalgebra by $k\circlearrowleft$. In this paper, all the finite-dimensional commutative Hopf algebras over the sub coalgebras of $k\circlearrowleft$ are given. As a direct consequence, all the commutative infinitesimal groups $\mathcal{G}$ with dim$_{k}$Lie$(\mathcal{G})=1$ are classified.
Recently, some concepts such as Hom-algebras, Hom-Lie algebras, Hom-Lie admissible algebras, Hom-coalgebras are studied and some of classical properties of algebras and some geometric objects are extended on them. In this paper by recall the concept of Hom-$ρ$-commutative algebras, we intend to develop some of the most classical results in Riemannian geometry such as metric, connection, torsion tensor, curvature tensor on it and also we discuss about differential operators and get some results of differential calculus using them. The notions of symplectic structures and Poisson structures are …
An element of a Coxeter group $W$ is fully commutative if any two of its reduced decompositions are related by a series of transpositions of adjacent commuting generators. These elements were extensively studied by Stembridge, in particular in the finite case. They index naturally a basis of the generalized Temperley--Lieb algebra. In this work we deal with any finite or affine Coxeter group $W$, and we give explicit descriptions of fully commutative elements. Using our characterizations we then enumerate these elements according to their Coxeter length, and find in particular that the corrres…
We study universal mapping properties of $(σ,τ)$-derivations over commutative algebras and characterize them over rings of integers of quadratic number fields. As a result we provide extension of some well known results on UFD's of such derivations to certain non-UFD's as well.
Some simple Lie superalgebras, specific of characteristic 3, defined by S. Bouarroudj and D. Leites, are shown to be related to the simple alternative and commutative superalgebras discovered by I.P. Shestakov.
We study some properties on $\mathsf{Lie}$-centroids related to central $\mathsf{Lie}$-derivations, generalized $\mathsf{Lie}$-derivations and almost inner $\mathsf{Lie}$-derivations. We also determine the $\mathsf{Lie}$-centroid of the tensor product of a commutative associative algebra and a Leibniz algebra.
In this paper, we establish the Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory for metabelian Lie algebras. As applications, we find the Gröbner-Shirshov bases for partial commutative metabelian Lie algebras related to circuits, trees and some cubes.
We initiate a unified, axiomatic study of noncommutative algebras R whose prime spectra are, in a natural way, finite unions of commutative noetherian spectra. Our results illustrate how these commutative spectra can be functorially ``sewn together'' to form Spec R. In particular, we construct a bimodule-determined functor Mod Z -> Mod R, for a suitable commutative noetherian ring Z, from which there follows a finite-to-one, continous surjection Spec Z -> Spec R. Algebras satisfying the given axiomatic framework include PI algebras finitely generated over fields, noetherian PI algebras, envelo…
We present a new method of analysis of associative algebras. This method bears a certain resemblance to the famous analysis of commutative $C^*$-algebras in which an important role is played by multiplicative functionals over the algebra. These functionals can be considered as "rank 1" in the framework of our method. In our approach a special position is taken by generic (maximal rank) functionals, which reveal a wealth of information on the structure of non-commutative algebras. We apply this method to derive interesting properties of index of Lie algebras and to analyze finite-dimensional as…
In this paper, all symmetric super-biderivations of some Lie superalgebras are determined. As an application, commutative post-Lie superalgebra structures on these Lie superalgebras are also obtained.
We introduce an $A_\infty$-algebra structure on the Hochschild cohomology of the endomorphism bimodule of a finite-dimensional representation of an associative algebra. We prove that this structure determines a presentation for non-commutative deformations of the representation. From this, we deduce presentations of universal deformation rings of Galois representations. In turn, we apply these presentations in order to deduce universal deformation rings of Galois pseudorepresentations, supplying a a tangent and obstruction theory for pseudorepresentations. This generalizes the broadly used tan…
