A Lie superalgebrea of Riemannian type leads to a representation of a quadratic Lie algebra into a Weyl algebra. A necessary and sufficient condition that such a representation leads to a Lie superalgebra of Riemannian type is that the Casimir maps to a constant.
We construct a family of twisted generalized Weyl algebras which includes Weyl-Clifford superalgebras and quotients of the enveloping algebras of $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ and $\mathfrak{osp}(m|2n)$. We give a condition for when a canonical representation by differential operators is faithful. Lastly, we give a description of the graded support of these algebras in terms of pattern-avoiding vector compositions.
Let $A$ be a commutative, associative algebra with unity over $\mathbb{C}$. Using the definition of global Weyl modules for the map superalgebras given by Calixto, Lemay, and Savage we explicitly describe the structure of certain quotients of the global Weyl modules for the map superalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}(2,1)\otimes A$. We also give a nice basis for these modules. This work is an extension of a Theorem of Feigin and Loktev describing the structure of the Weyl module for the map algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2\otimes A$. This work can naturally be extended to similar quotients of the global Weyl modu…
We define global and local Weyl modules for $q \otimes A$, where $q$ is the queer Lie superalgebra and $A$ is an associative commutative unital $\mathbb{C}-$algebra. We prove that global Weyl modules are universal highest weight objects in certain category upto parity reversing functor $Π$. Then with the assumption that $A$ is finitely generated and with a special technical condition which simple root system of $q$ satisfy it is shown that the local Weyl modules are finite dimensional. Further they are universal highest map-weight objects in certain category upto $Π$. Finally we prove a tensor…
This paper is a contribution to the study of the geometry of algebras related the Weyl groupoid initiated in \cite{M22}. The Nullstellensatz gives a bijection between radical ideals of such an algebra and their zero loci, the superalgebraic sets. Such sets are exactly the (Zariski) closed sets that are invariant under the action of a suitable groupoid, and the smallest superalgebraic set containing a given closed set can be described explicitly. Here we give several examples of superalgebraic sets. We also give several characterizations of Laurent supersymmetric polynomials. These adapt to uni…
Given an algebraically closed field $\Bbbk$ of characteristic zero, a Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ over $\Bbbk$ and an associative, commutative $\Bbbk$-algebra $A$ with unit, a Lie superalgebra of the form $\mathfrak{g} \otimes_\Bbbk A$ is known as a map superalgebra. Map superalgebras generalize important classes of Lie superalgebras, such as, loop superalgebras (where $A=\Bbbk[t, t^{-1}]$), and current superalgebras (where $A=\Bbbk[t]$). In this paper, we define Weyl functors, global and local Weyl modules for all map superalgebras where $\mathfrak{g}$ is either $\mathfrak{sl} (n,n)$ with…
Two super-analogs of the Schur-Weyl duality are considered: the duality of actions in $(\mathbb{C}^{m|n})^{\otimes N}$ of the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m,n)$ and the symmetric group $S_N$, and the duality of actions of the Lie superalgebra $Q(n)$ and a certain finite group $Se(N)$ in $(\mathbb{C}^{n|n})^{\otimes N}$. We construct an isomorphism of symmetric and universal enveloping algebras of these Lie superalgebras called special symmetrization. Using this isomorphism of vector spaces we describe explicitly the duality between the centers of the corresponding universal enveloping algeb…
We study three related topics in representation theory of classical Lie superalgebras. The first one is classification of primitive ideals, i.e. annihilator ideals of simple modules, and inclusions between them. The second topic concerns Arkhipov's twisting functors on the BGG category O. The third topic addresses deformed orbits of the Weyl group. These take over the role of the usual Weyl group orbits for Lie algebras, in the study of primitive ideals and twisting functors for Lie superalgebras.
Weyl denominator identity for the affinization of a basic Lie superalgebra with a non-zero Killing form was formulated by Kac and Wakimoto and was proven by them in defect one case. In this paper we prove this identity.
We define global and local Weyl modules for Lie superalgebras of the form $\mathfrak{g} \otimes A$, where $A$ is an associative commutative unital $\mathbb{C}$-algebra and $\mathfrak{g}$ is a basic Lie superalgebra or $\mathfrak{sl}(n,n)$, $n \ge 2$. Under some mild assumptions, we prove universality, finite-dimensionality, and tensor product decomposition properties for these modules. These properties are analogues of those of Weyl modules in the non-super setting. We also point out some features that are new in the super case.
We prove the Weyl denominator identity for the affine Lie superalgebra gl(2|2)^ conjectured by V. Kac and M. Wakimoto. As it was pointed out in their paper, this gives another proof of Jacobi identity for the number of presentations of a given integer as a sum of eight squares.
We introduce a new family of superalgebras $\overrightarrow{B}_{r,s}$ for $r, s \ge 0$ such that $r+s>0$, which we call the walled Brauer superalgebras, and prove the mixed Scur-Weyl-Sergeev duality for queer Lie superalgebras. More precisely, let $\mathfrak{q}(n)$ be the queer Lie superalgebra, ${\mathbf V} =\mathbb{C}^{n|n}$ the natural representation of $\mathfrak{q}(n)$ and ${\mathbf W}$ the dual of ${\mathbf V}$. We prove that, if $n \ge r+s$, the superalgebra $\overrightarrow{B}_{r,s}$ is isomorphic to the supercentralizer algebra $_{\mathfrak{q}(n)}({\mathbf V}^{\otimes r} \otimes {\mat…
We study a class of modules, called Chari-Venkatesh modules, for the current superalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)[t]$. This class contains other important modules, such as graded local Weyl, truncated local Weyl and Demazure-type modules. We prove that Chari-Venkatesh modules can be realized as fusion products of generalized Kac modules. In particular, this proves Feigin and Loktev's conjecture, that fusion products are independent of their fusion parameters in the case where the fusion factors are generalized Kac modules. As an application of our results, we obtain bases, dimension and character …
Degenerating the quantum queer Schur superalgebra ${\mathcal{Q}_q(n,r; R)}$ to the case $q=1$, the queer Schur superalgebra ${\mathcal{Q}(n,r)}$ is obtained. In this article, we reconstruct the universal enveloping algebra ${U({\mathfrak{q}_n})}$ of the queer Lie superalgebra ${\mathfrak{q}_n}$ via ${\mathcal{Q}(n,r)}$, and achieve another explanation of the Schur-Weyl-Sergeev duality. Finally, we depict the Schur-Weyl-Sergeev duality over $\mathbb{Z}$.
We investigate a new cohomology of Lie superalgebras, which may be compared to a de Rham cohomology of Lie supergroups involving both differential and integral forms. It is defined by a BRST complex of Lie superalgebra modules, which is formulated in terms of a Weyl superalgebra and incorporates inequivalent representations of the bosonic Weyl subalgebra. The new cohomology includes the standard Lie superalgebra cohomology as a special case. Examples of new cohomology groups are computed.
In this paper, we introduce super Weyl groups, their distinguished elements and properties for basic classical Lie superalgebras. Then we formulate Jantzen filtration for baby Verma modules in graded restricted module categories of basic classical Lie superalgebras over an algebraically closed field of odd characteristic, and prove a sum formula in the corresponding Grothendieck groups. We finally obtain a strong linkage principle in such categories.
In this paper, we classify simple strong Harish-Chandra modules over the Lie superalgebra $W_{m,n}$ of vector fields on $\C^{m|n}$. Any such module is the unique simple submodule of some tensor module $F(P,V)$ for a simple weight module $P$ over the Weyl superalgebra $\mathcal K_{m,n}$ and a simple weight module $V$ over the general linear superalgebra $\gl_{m,n}$.
We develop a reduction procedure which provides an equivalence (as highest weight categories) from an arbitrary block (defined in terms of the central character and the integral Weyl group) of the BGG category O for a general linear Lie superalgebra to an integral block of O for (possibly a direct sum of) general linear Lie superalgebras. We also establish indecomposability of blocks of O.
We study the quantum affine superalgebra $U_q(Lsl(M,N))$ and its finite-dimensional representations. We prove a triangular decomposition and establish a system of Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt generators for this superalgebra, both in terms of Drinfel'd currents. We define the Weyl modules in the spirit of Chari-Pressley and prove that these Weyl modules are always finite-dimensional and non-zero. In consequence, we obtain a highest weight classification of finite-dimensional simple representations when $M \neq N$. Some concrete simple representations are constructed via evaluation morphisms.
We suggest a programming realization of an algorithm for verifying a given set of algebraic relations in the form of a supercommutator multiplication table for the Verma module, which is constructed according to a generalized Cartan procedure for a quadratic superalgebra and whose elements are realized as a formal power series with respect to non-commuting elements. To this end, we propose an algebraic procedure of Verma module construction and its realization in terms of non-commuting creation and annihilation operators of a given Heisenberg--Weyl superalgebra. In doing so, we set up a proble…
The main goal of our paper is to establish a connection between the Weyl modules of the current Lie superalgebras (twisted and untwisted) attached to $\mathfrak{osp}(1,2)$ and the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials of types $A_2^{(2)}$ and $A_2^{(2)\dagger}$. We compute the dimensions and construct bases of the Weyl modules. We also derive explicit formulas for the t=0 and t=\infty specializations of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials. We show that the specializations can be described in terms of the Lie superalgebras action on the Weyl modules.
Let $A_{m,n}$ be the tensor product of the polynomial algebra in $m$ even variables and the exterior algebra in $n$ odd variables over the complex field $\C$, and the Witt superalgebra $W_{m,n}$ be the Lie superalgebra of superderivations of $A_{m,n}$. In this paper, we classify the non-trivial simple bounded weight $W_{m,n}$ modules with respect to the standard Cartan algebra of $W_{m,n}$. Any such module is a simple quotient of a tensor module $F(P,L(V_1\otimes V_2))$ for a simple weight module $P$ over the Weyl superalgebra $\mathcal K_{m,n}$, a finite-dimensional simple $\gl_m$-module $V_1…
The paper aims to introduce the cyclotomic $q$-Schur superalgebra via the permutation supermodules of the cyclotomic Hekce algebra and investigate its structure. In particular, we show that the cyclotomic $q$-Schur superalgebra is a cellular superalgebra and establish the Schur-Weyl duality between the cyclotomic Hecke algebra and the cyclotomic $q$-Schur superalgebra.
Character formulas for Lie superalgebras have been shown to have important applications to number theory and combinatorics. We prove the Kac-Wakimoto character formula for the general linear Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). This formula specializes to the well-known Kac-Weyl character formula when the modules are typical and to the Weyl denominator identity when the module is trivial. We also prove a determinantal character formula for KW-modules using the Kac-Wakimoto character formula.
We obtain a realization of the Lie superalgebra $D(2, 1 ; α)$ in differential operators on the supercircle $S^{1|2}$ and in $4\times 4$ matrices over a Weyl algebra. A contraction of $D(2, 1 ; α)$ is isomorphic to the universal central extension $\hat{\p\sł}(2|2)$ of $\p\sł(2|2)$. We realize it in $4\times 4$ matrices over the associative algebra of pseudodifferential operators on $S^1$. Correspondingly, there exists a three-parameter family of irreducible representations of $\hat{\p\sł}(2|2)$ in a $(2|2)$--dimensional complex superspace.
The Grothendieck rings of finite dimensional representations of the basic classical Lie superalgebras are explicitly described in terms of the corresponding generalised root systems. We show that they can be interpreted as the subrings in the weight group rings invariant under the action of certain groupoids called Weyl groupoids.
We study a family of Siegel modular forms that are constructed using Jacobi forms that arise in Umbral moonshine. All but one of them arise as the Weyl-Kac-Borcherds denominator formula of some Borcherds-Kac-Moody (BKM) Lie superalgebras. These Lie superalgebras have a $\widehat{sl(2)}$ subalgebra which we use to study the Siegel modular forms. We show that the expansion of the Umbral Jacobi forms in terms of $\widehat{sl(2)}$ characters leads to vector-valued modular forms. We obtain closed formulae for these vector-valued modular forms. In the Lie algebraic context, the Fourier coefficients …
We establish the submaximal symmetry dimension for Riemannian and Lorentzian conformal structures. The proof is based on enumerating all subalgebras of orthogonal Lie algebras of sufficiently large dimension and verifying if they stabilize a non-zero Weyl tensor up to scale. Our main technical tools include Dynkin's classification of maximal subalgebras in complex simple Lie algebras, a theorem of Mostow, and Kostant's Bott-Borel-Weil theorem.
In 1994, Kac and Wakimoto suggested a generalization of Bernstein and Leites character formula for basic Lie superalgebras, and the natural question was raised: to which simple highest weight modules does it apply? In this paper, we prove a similar formula for a large class of finite-dimensional simple modules over the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n), which we call piecewise disconnected modules, or PDC. The class of PDC modules naturally includes totally connected modules and totally disconnected modules, the two families for which similiar character formulas were proven by Su and Zhang as special c…
We introduce the orthosymplectic superalgebra osp(m|2n) as the algebra of Killing vector fields on Riemannian superspace R^{m|2n} which stabilize the origin. The Laplace operator and norm squared on R^{m|2n}, which generate sl(2), are orthosymplectically invariant, therefore we obtain the Howe dual pair (osp(m|2n),sl(2)). We study the osp(m|2n)-representation structure of the kernel of the Laplace operator. This also yields the decomposition of the supersymmetric tensor powers of the fundamental osp(m|2n)-representation under the action of sl(2) x osp(m|2n). As a side result we obtain informat…
We study the category of finite--dimensional representations for a basic classical Lie superalgebra $\Lg=\Lg_0\oplus \Lg_1$. For the ortho--symplectic Lie superalgebra $\Lg=\mathfrak{osp}(1,2n)$ we show that certain objects in that category admit a fusion flag, i.e. a sequence of graded $\Lg_0[t]$--modules such that the successive quotients are isomorphic to fusion products. Among these objects we find fusion products of finite--dimensional irreducible $\Lg$--modules, truncated Weyl modules and Demazure type modules. Moreover, we establish a presentation for these types of fusion products in t…
Following Sen[arXiv:0911.1563], we study the counting of (`twisted') BPS states that contribute to twisted helicity trace indices in four-dimensional CHL models with N=4 supersymmetry. The generating functions of half-BPS states, twisted as well as untwisted, are given in terms of multiplicative eta products with the Mathieu group, M_{24}, playing an important role. These multiplicative eta products enable us to construct Siegel modular forms that count twisted quarter-BPS states. The square-roots of these Siegel modular forms turn out be precisely a special class of Siegel modular forms, the …
We show that the Grothendieck groups of the categories of finitely-generated graded supermodules and finitely-generated projective graded supermodules over a tower of graded superalgebras satisfying certain natural conditions give rise to twisted Hopf algebras that are twisted dual. Then, using induction and restriction functors coming from such towers, we obtain a categorification of the twisted Heisenberg double and its Fock space representation. We show that towers of wreath product algebras (in particular, the tower of Sergeev superalgebras) and the tower of nilcoxeter graded superalgebras…
In this paper, a notion of cyclotomic (or level $k$) walled Brauer algebras $\mathscr B_{k, r, t}$ is introduced for arbitrary positive integer $k$. It is proven that $\mathscr B_{k, r, t}$ is free over a commutative ring with rank $k^{r+t}(r+t)!$ if and only if it is admissible. Using super Schur-Weyl duality between general linear Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$ and $\mathscr B_{2, r, t}$, we give a classification of highest weight vectors of $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$-modules $M_{pq}^{rt}$, the tensor products of Kac-modules with mixed tensor products of the natural module and its dual. …
In recent work, we examined the algebraic structure underlying a class of elements supercommuting with realization of the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$ inside a generalization of the Weyl Clifford algebra. This generalization contained in particular the deformation by means of Dunkl operators, yielding a rational Cherednik algebra instead of the Weyl algebra. The aim of this work is to show that this is the full supercentralizer, give a (minimal) set of generators, and to describe the relation with the $(\mathrm{Pin}(d),\mathfrak{osp}(2m+1|2n))$ Howe dual pair.
We study realisations of Lie (super)algebras in Weyl (super)algebras and connections with minimal representations. The main result is the construction of small realisations of Lie superalgebras, which we apply for two distinct purposes. Firstly it naturally introduces, and generalises, the Bessel operators for Jordan algebras in the study of minimal representations of simple Lie groups. These have already been applied very successfully by several authors, however an easy direct explanation for their relevance seemed still to be missing. Secondly, we work out the theoretical realisation concret…
We investigate an algebraic model for the quantum oscillator based upon the Lie superalgebra sh(2|2), known as the Heisenberg-Weyl superalgebra or "the algebra of supersymmetric quantum mechanics", and its Fock representation. The model offers some freedom in the choice of a position and a momentum operator, leading to a free model parameter gamma. Using the technique of Jacobi matrices, we determine the spectrum of the position operator, and show that its wavefunctions are related to Charlier polynomials C_n with parameter gamma^2. Some properties of these wavefunctions are discussed, as well…
