We consider multiple orthogonal polynomials corresponding to two Macdonald functions (modified Bessel functions of the second kind), with emphasis on the polynomials on the diagonal of the Hermite-Padé table. We give some properties of these polynomials: differential properties, a Rodrigues type formula and explicit formulas for the third order linear recurrence relation.

On the Macdonald-type function and its relation with index transforms and orthogonal polynomials

We study the asymptotic zero distribution of type II multiple orthogonal polynomials associated with two Macdonald functions (modified Bessel functions of the second kind). Based on the four-term recurrence relation, it is shown that, after proper scaling, the sequence of normalized zero counting measures converges weakly to the first component of a vector of two measures which satisfies a vector equilibrium problem with two external fields. We also give the explicit formula for the equilibrium vector in terms of solutions of an algebraic equation.

Appl. doi:10.1016/j.jmaa.2009.06.067] have presented alternative proofs of an orthogonality relation obeyed by the Macdonald functions of imaginary order. In this note, we show that the validity of that relation may be also proved in a simpler way by applying a technique occasionally used in mathematical physics to normalize scattering wave functions to the Dirac delta distribution.
The Knop-Sahi interpolation Macdonald polynomials are inhomogeneous and nonsymmetric generalisations of the well-known Macdonald polynomials. In this paper we apply the interpolation Macdonald polynomials to study a new type of basic hypergeometric series of type g_n. Our main results include a new q-binomial theorem, new q-Gauss sum, and several transformation formulae for g_n series.

This paper surveys eight classes of polynomials associated with $A$-type and $BC$-type root systems: Jack, Jacobi, Macdonald and Koornwinder polynomials and interpolation (or shifted) Jack and Macdonald polynomials and their $BC$-type extensions. We prove certain duality properties and present recurrence relations for a four-parameter family of self-dual Koornwinder-Macdonald polynomials. The recurrence relations are used to verify Macdonald's normalization conjectures for these polynomials.

In particular, we show that the Pieri formula for Macdonald polynomials and its recently discovered inverse, a recursion formula for Macdonald polynomials, both represent multivariable extensions of the terminating very-well-poised 6-phi-5 summation formula. We introduce Macdonald characters and use algebraic properties of Macdonald polynomials to study them. As a result, we produce several formulas for Macdonald characters, which are generalizations of those obtained by Gorin and Panova in [Ann. Probab. 43 (2015), 3052-3132, arXiv:1301.0634], and are expected to provide tools for the study of statistical mechanical models, representation theory and random matrices. As first application of our formulas, we characterize the boundary of the $(q,t)$-deformation of the Gelfand-Tsetlin graph when $t=q^θ$ and $θ$ is a positive integer.
Using the Baker-Akhiezer function technique we construct a separation of variables for the classical trigonometric 3-particle Ruijsenaars model (relativistic generalization of Calogero-Moser-Sutherland model).
