Consider the operator $ T=-{d^2dx^2}+x^2+q(x)$ in $L^2(\mathbb{R})$, where real functions $q$, $q'$ and $\int_0^xq(s)ds$ are bounded. In particular, $q$ is periodic or almost periodic. The spectrum of $T$ is purely discrete and consists of the simple eigenvalues $\{μ_n\}_{n=0}^\infty$, $μ_n<μ_{n+1}$. We determine their asymptotics $μ_n = (2n+1) + (2π)^{-1}\int_{-π}^πq(\sqrt{2n+1}\sinθ)dθ+ O(n^{-1/3})$.
In this paper, we consider the perturbations of the Harmonic Oscillator Operator by an odd pair of point interactions: $z (δ(x - b) - δ(x + b))$. We study the spectrum by analyzing a convenient formula for the eigenvalue. We conclude that if $z = ir$, $r$ real, as $r \to \infty$, the number of non-real eigenvalues tends to infinity.
We prove the reducibility of quantum harmonic oscillators in $\mathbb R^d$ perturbed by a quasi-periodic in time potential $V(x,ωt)$ with $\mathit{logarithmic~decay}$. By a new estimate built for solving the homological equation we improve the reducibility result by Grébert-Paturel(Annales de la Faculté des sciences de Toulouse : Mathématiques. $\mathbf{28}$, 2019).
In this work, concentration properties of quasimodes for perturbed semiclassical harmonic oscillators are studied. The starting point of this research comes from the fact that, in the presence of resonances between frequencies of the harmonic oscillator and for a generic bounded perturbation, the set of semiclassical measures for quasimodes of sufficiently small width is strictly smaller than the corresponding set of semiclassical measures for the unperturbed system. In this work we precise the description of this set taking into account the Diophantine properties of the vector of frequencies,…
We prove a Pleijel-type theorem for the asymptotic behaviour of the number of nodal domains of eigenfunctions of the quantum harmonic oscillator in any dimension.
We study the asymptotic behavior of the spectrum of a quantum system which is a perturbation of a spherically symmetric anharmonic oscillator in dimension 2. We prove that a large part of its eigenvalues can be obtained by Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization rule applied to the normal form Hamiltonian and also admit an asymptotic expansion at infinity. The proof is based on the generalization to the present context of the normal form approach developed in [BLM20b] (see also [PS10]) for the particular case of $T^d$.
We consider a chain of weakly harmonic coupled oscillators perturbed by a conservative noise. We show that by tuning accordingly the coupling constant energy can diffuse like a Brownian motion or superdiffuse like a maximally 3/2-stable asymmetric L{é}vy process. For a critical value of the coupling, the energy diffusion is described by a family of L{é}vy processes which interpolates between these two processes.
In this paper, we construct corrections to the raising and lowering (i.e. ladder) operators for a quantum harmonic oscillator subjected to a polynomial type perturbation of any degree and to any order in perturbation theory. We apply our formalism to a couple of examples, namely q and p 4 perturbations, and obtain the explicit form of those operators. We also compute the expectation values of position and momentum for the above perturbations. This construction is essential for defining coherent and squeezed states for the perturbed oscillator. Furthermore, this is the first time that correctio…
We consider nonselfadjoint perturbations of semiclassical harmonic oscillators. Under appropriate dynamical assumptions, we establish some spectral estimates such as upper bounds on the resolvent near the real axis when no geometric control condition is satisfied.
We consider a finite region of a $d$-dimensional lattice, $d\in\mathbb{N}$, of weakly coupled harmonic oscillators. The coupling is provided by a nearest-neighbour potential (harmonic or not) of size $\varepsilon$. Each oscillator weakly interacts by force of order $\varepsilon$ with its own stochastic Langevin thermostat of arbitrary positive temperature. We investigate limiting as $\varepsilon\rightarrow 0$ behaviour of solutions of the system and of the local energy of oscillators on long-time intervals of order $\varepsilon^{-1}$ and in a stationary regime. We show that it is governed by a…
We consider an one-dimensional inhomogeneous harmonic chain consisting of two different semi-infinite chains of harmonic oscillators. We study the Cauchy problem with random initial data. Under some restrictions on the interaction between the oscillators of the chain and on the distribution of the initial data, we prove the convergence of space-time statistical solutions to a Gaussian measure.
In this work we address the problem of the quantization of a simple harmonic oscillator that is perturbed by a time dependent force. The approach consists of removing the perturbation by a canonical change of coordinates. Since the quantization procedure uses the classical Hamiltonian formalism as staring point, the change of variables is carried out using canonical transformations, and to transform between the quantized systems the canonical transformation is implemented as a unitary transformation mapping the states of the perturbed and unperturbed system onto each other.
In the existing literature various numerical techniques have been developed to quantize the confined harmonic oscillator in higher dimensions. In obtaining the energy eigenvalues, such methods often involve indirect approaches such as searching for the roots of hypergeometric functions or numerically solving a differential equation. In this paper, however, we derive an explicit matrix representation for the Hamiltonian of a confined quantum harmonic oscillator in higher dimensions, thus facilitating direct diagonalization.
Analytical perturbations of a family of finite-dimensional Poisson systems are considered. It is shown that the family is analytically orbitally conjugate in $U \subset \mathbb{R}^n$ to a planar harmonic oscillator defined on the symplectic leaves. As a consequence, the perturbed vector field can be transformed in the domain $U$ to the Lagrange standard form. On the latter, use can be made of averaging theory up to second order to study the existence, number and bifurcation phenomena of periodic orbits. Examples are given ranging from harmonic oscillators with a potential and Duffing oscillato…
Supersymmetric quantum mechanics is a powerful tool for generating exactly solvable potentials departing from a given initial one. If applied to the harmonic oscillator, a family of Hamiltonians ruled by polynomial Heisenberg algebras is obtained. In this paper it will be shown that the SUSY partner Hamiltonians of the harmonic oscillator can produce evolution loops. The corresponding geometric phases will be as well studied.
We study the entanglement entropy of harmonic oscillators in noncommutative phase space. We propose a new definition of quantum Rényi entropy based on Wigner functions in noncommutative phase space. Using the Rényi entropy, we calculate the entanglement entropy of the ground state of the 2D isotropic harmonic oscillators. We find that for some values of the noncommutative parameters, the harmonic oscillators can be entangled in noncommutative phase space. This is a new entanglement-like effect caused by the noncommutativity of the phase space.
It is computed, using instanton methods, the first allowed energy band for the polymer harmonic oscillator. The result is consistent with the band structure of the standard quantum pendulum but with pure point spectrum. An effective infinite degeneracy emerges in the formal limit $μ/l_0 \to 0$ where $l_0$ is the characteristic length of the vacuum eigenfunction of a quantum harmonic oscillator. As an additional result, it is shown along the article the role played by the lattice reference point $λ$ in the full quantization of the polymer harmonic oscillator.
