Duadic group algebra codes are a generalization of quadratic residue codes. This paper settles an open problem raised by Zhu concerning the existence of duadic group algebra codes. These codes can be used to construct degenerate quantum stabilizer codes that have the nice feature that many errors of small weight do not need error correction; this fact is illustrated by an example.
Binary duadic codes are an interesting subclass of cyclic codes since they have large dimensions and their minimum distances may have a square-root bound. In this paper, we present several families of binary duadic codes of length $2^m-1$ and develop some lower bounds on their minimum distances by using the BCH bound on cyclic codes, which partially solves one case of the open problem proposed in \cite{LLD}. It is shown that the lower bounds on their minimum distances are close to the square root bound. Moreover, the parameters of the dual and extended codes of these binary duadic codes are in…
Duadic negacyclic codes over a finite non-chain ring and their Gray images
We present a general framework of quantum error-correcting codes (QECCs) as a subspace of a complex Hilbert space and the corresponding error models. Then we illustrate how QECCs can be constructed using techniques from algebraic coding theory. Additionally, we discuss secondary constructions for QECCs, leading to propagation rules for the parameters of QECCs.
In this paper we consider the diversity-multiplexing gain tradeoff (DMT) of so-called minimum delay asymmetric space-time codes. Such codes are less than full dimensional lattices in their natural ambient space. Apart from the multiple input single output (MISO) channel there exist very few methods to analyze the DMT of such codes. Further, apart from the MISO case, no DMT optimal asymmetric codes are known. We first discuss previous criteria used to analyze the DMT of space-time codes and comment on why these methods fail when applied to asymmetric codes. We then consider two special classes …

Lenstra and Guruswami described number field analogues of the algebraic geometry codes of Goppa. Recently, the first author and Oggier generalised these constructions to other arithmetic groups: unit groups in number fields and orders in division algebras; they suggested to use unit groups in quaternion algebras but could not completely analyse the resulting codes. We prove that the noncommutative unit group construction yields asymptotically good families of codes for the sum-rank metric from division algebras of any degree, and we estimate the size of the alphabet in terms of the degree.
In this paper we present a decoding algorithm for algebraic geometry codes with error-correcting capacity beyond half the designed distance of the code. This algorithm comes as a fusion of the Power Error Locating Pairs algorithm for algebraic geometry codes and the technique used by Ehrhard in order to correct these codes up to half the designed distance. The decoding radius of this algorithm reaches that of Sudan algorithm, without any penalty given by the genus of the curve.
In this note, an intrinsic description of some families of linear codes with symmetries is given, showing that they can be described more generally as quasi group codes, that is, as linear codes allowing a group of permutation automorphisms which acts freely on the set of coordinates. An algebraic description, including the concatenated structure, of such codes is presented. This allows to construct quasi group codes from codes over rings, and vice versa. The last part of the paper is dedicated to the investigation of self-duality of quasi group codes.
Several relations and bounds for the dimension of principal ideals in group algebras are determined by analyzing minimal polynomials of regular representations. These results are used in the two last sections. First, in the context of semisimple group algebras, to compute, for any abelian code, an element with Hamming weight equal to its dimension. Finally, to get bounds on the minimum distance of certain MDS group codes. A relation between a class of group codes and MDS codes is presented. Examples illustrating the main results are provided.
In this paper, we define Abelian and consta-Abelian polyadic codes over rings defined as affine algebras over chain rings. For that aim, we use the classical construction via splittings and multipliers of the underlying Abelian group. We also derive some results on the structure of the associated polyadic codes and the number of codes under these conditions.
We classify, in terms of the structure of the finite group G, all group algebras KG for which all right ideals are right annihilators of principal left ideals. This means in the language of coding theory that we classify code-checkable group algebras KG which have been considered so far only for abelian groups G. Optimality of checkable codes and asymptotic results are discussed.
