We apply the formalism of quasi-homogeneous geometrothermodynamics to study the stability, phase transition, and criticality properties of the Bardeen regular black hole. We show that the singularities of thermodynamic curvature determine the regions where the stability conditions break down and indicate the location of the Davies phase transition and the zero-temperature limiting case. Moreover, we compute the critical exponents of the curvature and prove the existence of a scaling relation with the heat capacity.

Modern cosmological models are constructed in the framework of thermodynamic approaches developed within a Van der Waals-Maxwell theory of the first-order phase transitions. In the present work we study a geometrothermodynamics of two-dimensional first-order phase transition with the distribution of relaxation times in a configuration space which describes a spacetime with Newman-Unti-Tamburino-like metric. We utilized the geometrothermodynamical approach to construct the model of a charged generalized-NUT black hole. We reveal following features of the black-hole phase transition: there are s…
We study a stationary and axisymmetric binary system composed of two identical Kerr black holes, whose physical parameters satisfy the Smarr thermodynamic formula. Then, we use the formalism of geometrothermodynamics to show that the spatial distance between the black holes must be considered as a thermodynamic variable. We investigate the main thermodynamic properties of the system by using the contact structure of the phase space, which generates the first law of thermodynamics and the equilibrium conditions. The phase transition structure of the system is investigated through the curvature …
We study thermodynamics and geometrothermodynamics of a particular black hole configuration with a nonlinear source. We use the mass as fundamental equation, from which it follows that the curvature radius must be considered as a thermodynamic variable, leading to an extended equilibrium space. Using the formalism of geometrothermodynamics, we show that the geometric properties of the thermodynamic equilibrium space can be used to obtain information about thermodynamic interaction, critical points and phase transitions. We show that these results are compatible with the results obtained from c…

We investigate thermodynamics and geometrothermodynamics of regular Bardeen AdS black hole with quintessence. The thermodynamics of the black hole is studied using temperature-entropy ($T-S$) , Pressure-Volume ($P-v$), and Gibbs energy plots, which indicate a critical behaviour. This is also confirmed from the divergence of specific heat against entropy, which shows a second-order phase transition. Moreover, we observe that the quintessence state parameter $ω$ shifts the transition point to lower entropy values. Using the concept of thermodynamic Ruppeiner and Weinhold geometry, we calculated t…
We consider a charged Gauss-Bonnet black hole in $d$-dimensional spacetime and examine the effect of thermal fluctuations on the thermodynamics of the concerned black hole. At first we take the first order logarithmic correction term in entropy and compute the thermodynamic potentials like Helmholtz free energy $F$, enthalpy $H$ and Gibbs free energy $G$ in the spherical, Ricci flat and hyperbolic topology of the black hole horizon, respectively. We also investigate the $P$-$V$ criticality and calculate the critical volume $V_c$, critical pressure $P_c$ and critical temperature $T_c$ using dif…
In this report, a general method to extract thermodynamic quantities from solutions of the Einstein equation is developed. In 1994, Wald established that the entropy of a black hole could be identified as a Noether charge associated with a Killing vector of a global space-time (pseudo-Riemann) manifold. We reconstruct Wald's method using geometrical language, e.g$.$, via differential forms defined on the local space-time (Minkowski) manifold. Concurrently, the abstract thermodynamics are also reconstructed using geometrical terminology, which is parallel to general relativity. The corresponden…
Recently, a new class of modified gravity theories formulated via an additional scalar and vector field on top of the standard tensor field has been proposed. The direct implications of these theories are expected to be relevant for cosmology and astrophysics. In the present work, we revisit the modified framework of the scalar-vector-tensor theories of gravity. Surprisingly, we discover novel metric function for the black hole solutions. We also investigate the semi-classical thermodynamics of the black holes and study the thermodynamic properties of the obtained solutions. Moreover, we quant…

Although the fundamental equations of ordinary thermodynamic systems are known to correspond to first-degree homogeneous functions, in the case of non-ordinary systems like black holes the corresponding fundamental equations are not homogeneous. We present several arguments, indicating that black holes should be described by means of quasi-homogeneous functions of degree different from one. In particular, we show that imposing the first-degree condition leads to contradictory results in thermodynamics and geometrothermodynamics of black holes. As a consequence, we show that in generalized grav…
In this paper, we consider a static black hole in $f(R)$ gravity. We recapitulate the expression for corrected thermodynamic entropy of this black hole due to small fluctuations around equilibrium. Also, we study the geometrothermodynamics (GTD) of this black hole and investigate the adaptability of the curvature scalar of geothermodynamic methods with phase transition points of this black hole. Moreover, we study the effect of correction parameter on thermodynamic behaviour of this black hole. We observe that the singular point of the curvature scalar of Ruppeiner metric coincides completely …
