Given a proper, rational map of balls, D'Angelo and Xiao introduced five natural groups encoding properties of the map. We study these groups using a recently discovered normal form for rational maps of balls. Using this normal form, we also provide several new groups associated to the map.
In this paper we study the class of "shearing" holomorphic maps of the unit ball of the form $(z,w)\mapsto (z+g(w), w)$. Besides general properties, we use such maps to construct an example of a normalized univalent map of the ball onto a Runge domain in $\mathbb C^n$ which however cannot be embedded into a Loewner chain whose range is $\mathbb C^n$.
In this paper we studied a broader type of generalized balls which are domains on the complex projective with possibly Levi-degenerate boundaries. We proved rigidity theorems for proper holomorphic mappings among them by exploring the structure of the moduli spaces of projective linear subspaces, which generalized some earlier results for the ordinary generalized balls with Levi-nondegenerate boundaries.
We extended the study of the linear fractional self maps (e.g. by Cowen-MacCluer and Bisi-Bracci on the unit balls) to a much more general class of domains, called generalized type-I domains, which includes in particular the classical bounded symmetric domains of type-I and the generalized balls. Since the linear fractional maps on the unit balls are simply the restrictions of the linear maps of the ambient projective space (in which the unit ball is embedded) on a Euclidean chart with inhomogeneous coordinates, and in this article we always worked with homogeneous coordinates, here the term l…
In this paper, we study the structure of the fixed point sets of noncommutative self maps of the free ball. We show that for such a map that fixes the origin the fixed point set on every level is the intersection of the ball with a linear subspace. We provide an application for the completely isometric isomorphism problem of multiplier algebras of noncommutative complete Pick spaces.
Let $f$ be a degree $d$ bicritical rational map with critical point set $\mathcal{C}_f$ and critical value set $\mathcal{V}_f$. Using the group $\textrm{Deck}(f^k)$ of deck transformations of $f^k$, we show that if $g$ is a bicritical rational map which shares an iterate with $f$ then $\mathcal{C}_f = \mathcal{C}_g$ and $\mathcal{V}_f = \mathcal{V}_g$. Using this, we show that if two bicritical rational maps of even degree $d$ share an iterate then they share a second iterate, and both maps belong to the symmetry locus of degree $d$ bicritical rational maps.
