Quantum $L_\infty$ algebras are higher loop generalizations of cyclic $L_\infty$ algebras. Motivated by the problem of defining morphisms between such algebras, we construct a linear category of $(-1)$-shifted symplectic vector spaces and distributional half-densities, originally proposed by Ševera. Morphisms in this category can be given both by formal half-densities and Lagrangian relations; we prove that the composition of such morphisms recovers the construction of homotopy transfer of quantum $L_\infty$ algebras. Finally, using this category, we propose a new notion of a relation between quantum $L_\infty$ algebras.
We explore the relationship between the classical constructions of cumulants and Koszul brackets, showing that the former are an expontial version of the latter. Moreover, under some additional technical assumptions, we prove that both constructions are compatible with standard homological perturbation theory in an appropriate sense. As an application of these results, we provide new proofs for the homotopy transfer Theorem for $L_\infty$ and $IBL_\infty$ algebras based on the symmetrized tensor trick and the standard perturbation Lemma, as in the usual approach for $A_\infty$ algebras. Moreov…
It is shown that the N-Galilean conformal algebra, with N-odd, is the maximal symmetry algebra of the free Lagrangian involving (N+1)/2-th order time derivative.
We classify all 2-term $L_\infty$-algebras up to isomorphism. We show that such $L_\infty$-algebras are classified by a Lie algebra, a vector space, a representation (all up to isomorphism) and a cohomology class of the corresponding Lie algebra cohomology.
The Lagrange-d'Alembert equations with constraints belonging to $H^{1,\infty}$ have been considered. A concept of weak solutions to these equations has been built. Global existence theorem for Cauchy problem has been obtained.
A simple method is proposed for deforming $A_\infty$-algebras by means of the resolution technique. The method is then applied to the associative algebras of polynomial functions on quantum superspaces. Specifically, by introducing suitable resolutions, we construct explicit deformations of these algebras in the category of minimal $A_\infty$-algebras. The relation of these deformations to higher spin gravities is briefly discussed.
A version of mirror symmetry predicts a ring isomorphism between quantum cohomology of a symplectic manifold and Jacobian algebra of the Landau-Ginzburg mirror, and for toric manifolds Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono constructed such a map called Kodaira-Spencer map using Lagrangian Floer theory. We discuss a general construction of Kodaira-Spencer ring homomorphism when LG mirror potential $W$ is given by $J$-holomorphic discs with boundary on a Lagrangian $L$: we find an $A_{\infty}$-algebra $\mathcal{B}$ whose $m_1$-complex is a Koszul complex for $W$ under mild assumptions on $L$. Closed-open map gives…
We describe $L_\infty$-algebras governing homotopy relative Rota-Baxter Lie algebras and triangular $L_\infty$-bialgebras, and establish a map between them. Our formulas are based on a functorial approach to Voronov's higher derived brackets construction which is of independent interest.
Field Theories in Physics can be formulated giving a local Lagrangian density. Locality is imposed using the infinite jet bundle. That bundle is viewed as a pro-finite dimensional smooth manifold and that point of view has been compared to different topological and Frechét structures on it. A category of local (insular) manifolds has been constructed. Noether's second theorem is reviewed and the notion of Lie pseudogroups is explored using these concepts. The L-infinity algebra of local observables is defined depending only on the cohomology of the Lagrangian (using a result in multisymplectic…
We show that an $L_\infty$-algebra can be extended to a graded Hopf algebra with a codifferential. Then we twist this extended $L_\infty$-algebra with a Drinfel'd twist, simultaneously twisting its modules. Taking the $L_\infty$-algebra as its own (Hopf) module, we obtain the recently proposed braided $L_\infty$-algebra. The Hopf algebra morphisms are identified with the strict $L_\infty$-morphisms, while the braided $L_\infty$-morphisms define a more general $L_\infty$-action of twisted $L_\infty$-algebras.
We study the even spin $\mathcal{W}_\infty$ which is a universal $\mathcal{W}$-algebra for orthosymplectic series of $\mathcal{W}$-algebras. We use the results of Fateev and Lukyanov to embed the algebra into $\mathcal{W}_{1+\infty}$. Choosing the generators to be quadratic in those of $\mathcal{W}_{1+\infty}$, we find that the algebra has quadratic operator product expansions. Truncations of the universal algebra include principal Drinfeľd-Sokolov reductions of $BCD$ series of simple Lie algebras, orthogonal and symplectic cosets as well as orthosymplectic $Y$-algebras of Gaiotto and Rapčák. …
We define $\mathcal{O}$-operators on a Lie $\infty$-algebra $E$ with respect to an action of $E$ on another Lie $\infty$-algebra and we characterize them as Maurer-Cartan elements of a certain Lie $\infty$-algebra obtained by Voronov's higher derived brackets construction. The Lie $\infty$-algebra that controls the deformation of $\mathcal{O}$-operators with respect to a fixed action is determined.
Inspired by the analogy between different types of differential forms on supermanifolds and string fields in superstring theory, we construct new multilinear non-associative products of forms which yield an $A_\infty$-algebra.
In this paper, we first construct the controlling algebras of embedding tensors and Lie-Leibniz triples, which turn out to be a graded Lie algebra and an $L_\infty$-algebra respectively. Then we introduce representations and cohomologies of embedding tensors and Lie-Leibniz triples, and show that there is a long exact sequence connecting various cohomologies. As applications, we classify infinitesimal deformations and central extensions using the second cohomology groups. Finally, we introduce the notion of a homotopy embedding tensor which will induce a Leibniz$_\infty$-algebra. We realize Ko…
In the article it is considered the extension of Weinberg-Salam theory from SU(2) group to the octonionic algebra. The extended octonionic algebra is used as particle wave function instead of spinors on su(2). It is shown, that leads to appearance of a new neutral massive vector C and E-bosons (peculiar property of the E-boson is that it does not interact with matter), and two charged massive vector $D$ and $D^*$ bosons.
We provide a generators and relation description of the deformed W_{1+\infty}-algebra introduced in previous joint work of E. Vasserot and the second author. This gives a presentation of the (spherical) cohomological Hall algebra of the one-loop quiver, or alternatively of the spherical degenerate double affine Hecke algebra of GL(\infty).
Starting from the $C_λ$-extended oscillator algebras, we obtain a new deformed $w_{\infty}$-algebra. More precisely, we show that the $C_λ$-extended $w_{\infty}$-algebra generators may be expressed via the annihilation and creation operators of the $C_λ$-extended oscillator algebras $a$ and $a^{\dagger}$ as an infinite-dimensional extension of the realization of $sp(2)$ algebra.
It is shown that the closure of the infinitesimal symmetry transformations underlying classical ${\cal W}$ algebras give rise to L$_\infty$ algebras with in general field dependent gauge parameters. Therefore, the class of well understood ${\cal W}$ algebras provides highly non-trivial examples of such strong homotopy Lie-algebras. We develop the general formalism for this correspondence and apply it explicitly to the classical ${\cal W}_3$ algebra.
It is believed that any classical gauge symmetry gives rise to an L$_\infty$ algebra. Based on the recently realized relation between classical ${\cal W}$ algebras and L$_\infty$ algebras, we analyze how this generalizes to the quantum case. Guided by the existence of quantum ${\cal W}$ algebras, we provide a physically well motivated definition of quantum L$_\infty$ algebras describing the consistency of global symmetries in quantum field theories. In this case we are restricted to only two non-trivial graded vector spaces $X_0$ and $X_{-1}$ containing the symmetry variations and the symmetry…
We review and develop the general properties of $L_\infty$ algebras focusing on the gauge structure of the associated field theories. Motivated by the $L_\infty$ homotopy Lie algebra of closed string field theory and the work of Roytenberg and Weinstein describing the Courant bracket in this language we investigate the $L_\infty$ structure of general gauge invariant perturbative field theories. We sketch such formulations for non-abelian gauge theories, Einstein gravity, and for double field theory. We find that there is an $L_\infty$ algebra for the gauge structure and a larger one for the fu…
In this paper, we introduce the notions of a $3$-$Lie_\infty$-algebra and a 3-Lie 2-algebra. The former is a model for a 3-Lie algebra that satisfy the fundamental identity up to all higher homotopies, and the latter is the categorification of a 3-Lie algebra. We prove that the 2-category of 2-term $3$-$Lie_\infty$-algebras is equivalent to the 2-category of 3-Lie 2-algebras. Skeletal and strict 3-Lie 2-algebras are studied in detail. A construction of a 3-Lie 2-algebra from a symplectic 3-Lie algebra is given.
We construct what we call a Kirby category, a monoidal category whose morphisms are smooth 4-manifolds, projecting down to another monoidal category whose morphisms are orientable 3-manifolds, the projection being induced by the boundary map on manifolds. We construct a higher categorical generalization of such concepts and introduce the notion of ribbon $\infty$-categories, a generalization of braided monoidal $\infty$-categories (\cite{Lu1}), which gives rise to the concepts of $\infty$-links, $\infty$-4-manifolds as well as the more general notion of walled $\infty$-4-manifolds if one focus…
Let $L$ be a line bundle over $M$. In this paper we associate an $L_\infty$-algebra to any $L$-Courant algebroid (contact Courant algebroid in the sense of Grabowski). This construction is similar to the work of Roytenberg and Weinstein for Courant algebroids. Next we associate a $p$-term $L_\infty$-algebra to any isotropic involutive subbundle of $(\mathbb{D}L)^p := DL \oplus (\wedge^p (DL)^* \otimes L)$, where $DL$ is the gauge algebroid of $L$. In a particular case, we relate these $L_\infty$-algebras by a suitable morphism.
