We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition on an exponent $p(\cdot)$ for which the Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator is bounded on the variable $L^{p(\cdot)}$ space. It is formulated in terms of the Muckenhoupt-type condition $A_{p(\cdot)}$, responsible for a local control of $p(\cdot)$, and a certain integral condition on $p(\cdot)$, responsible for the behaviour of $p(\cdot)$ at infinity. Our approach is based on an earlier characterization established by L. Diening and on non-increasing rearrangements.
We investigate some conditions under which the Lebesgue constants or Lebesgue functions are bounded for the classical Lagrange polynomial interpolation on a compact subset of $\mathbb R$. In particular, relationships of such boundedness with uniform and pointwise convergence of Lagrange polynomials and with the existence of interpolating Faber bases are discussed.
In this paper we prove the boundedness of the Gaussian Riesz potentials $I_β$, for $β\geq 1$ on $L^{p(\cdot)}(γ_d)$, the Gaussian variable Lebesgue spaces under a certain additional condition of regularity on $p(\cdot)$ following \cite{DalSco}. Additionally, this result trivially gives us an alternative proof of the boundedness of Gaussian Riesz potentials $I_β$ on Gaussian Lebesgue spaces $L^p(γ_d)$.
The main result of this work is the proof of the boundedness of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup $ \{T_t \}_{t\geq 0} $ in $ {\mathbb R}^d $ on Gaussian variable Lebesgue spaces under a condition of regularity on $p(\cdot)$ following previous papers by E. Dalmaso R. Scotto and S. Pérez. As a consequence of this result, we obtain the boundedness of Poisson-Hermite semigroup and the boundedness of the Gaussian Bessel potentials of order $β> 0$.
In a previous paper, we introduced a new class of Gaussian singular integrals, that we called the general alternative Gaussian singular integrals and study the boundedness of them on $L^p(γ_d)$, $ 1 < p < \infty.$ In this paper, we study the boundedness of those operators on Gaussian variable Lebesgue spaces under a certain additional condition of regularity on $p(\cdot)$ following a paper by E. Dalmasso and R. Scotto.
In this paper author was proved the boundedness of the multidimensional Hardy type operator in weighted Lebesgue spaces with a variable exponent. As an application we prove the boundedness of certain sublinear operators on the weighted variable Lebesgue space. Note that the proof of multidimensional Hardy type operator in weighted Lebesgue spaces with a variable exponent don't contained any mistakes. But at the proving of the boundedness of certain sublinear operators on the weighted variable Lebesgue space Georgian colleagues discovered a small but significant error in this paper. This result…
We extend and improve the known results about the boundedness of the bilinear pseudo-differential operators with symbols in the bilinear Hörmander class $BS^{m}_{0,0}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. We consider wider classes of symbols and improve estimates for the corresponding operators. A key idea is to consider the operators in Wiener amalgam spaces.
Recently V. Kokilashvili, N. Samko, and S. Samko have proved a sufficient condition for the boundedness of the Cauchy singular integral operator on variable Lebesgue spaces with radial oscillating weights over Carleson curves. This condition is formulated in terms of Matuszewska-Orlicz indices of weights. We prove a partial converse of their result.
Given a space of homogeneous type we give sufficient conditions on a variable exponent {p(.)} so that the fractional maximal operator {M_η} maps {L^{p(.)}(X)} to {L^{q(.)}(X)}, where {1/p(.) - 1/q(.) = η}. In the endpoint case we also prove the corresponding weak type inequality. As an application we prove norm inequalities for the fractional integral operator {I_η}. Our proof for the fractional maximal operator uses the theory of dyadic cubes on spaces of homogeneous type, and even in the Euclidean setting it is simpler than existing proofs. For the fractional integral operator we extend a po…
Let $L:=-Δ+V$ be the Schrödinger operator on $\mathbb{R}^n$ with $n\geq 3$, where $V$ is a non-negative potential which belongs to certain reverse Hölder class $RH_q(\mathbb{R}^n)$ with $q\in (n/2,\,\infty)$. In this article, the authors obtain the quantitative weighted boundedness of Littlewood--Paley functions $g_L$, $S_L$ and $g_{L,\,λ}^\ast$, associated to $L$, on weighted Lebesgue spaces $L^p(w)$, where $w$ belongs to the class of Muckenhoupt $A_p$ weights adapted to $L$.
Our aim is to characterize the Lipschitz functions by variable exponent Lebesgue spaces. We give some characterizations of the boundedness of the maximal or nonlinear commutators of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function and sharp maximal function in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces when the symbols $b$ belong to the Lipschitz spaces, by which some new characterizations of Lipschitz spaces and nonnegative Lipschitz functions are obtained. Some equivalent relations between the Lipschitz norm and the variable exponent Lebesgue norm are also given.
In this paper, the main aim is to consider the boundedness of commutators of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators with Lipschitz functions in the context of the variable exponent Lebesgue spaces. Furthermore, the variable versions of the Lipschitz spaces are also discussed, and with the help of a key tool of a pointwise estimate involving the sharp maximal operator of the multilinear fractional commutator and certain associated maximal operators.
In this article we extend recent results by the first author on the necessity of $BMO$ for the boundedness of commutators on the classical Lebesgue spaces. We generalize these results to a large class of Banach function spaces. We show that with modest assumptions on the underlying spaces and on the operator $T$, if the commutator $[b,T]$ is bounded, then the function $b$ is in $BMO$.
In this paper a two weight criterion for multidimensional geometric mean operator in variable exponent Lebesgue space is proved. Also, we found a criterion on weight functions expressing one-dimensional Hardy inequality via a certain nonlinear differential equation. In particular, considered nonlinear differential equation is nonlinear integro-differential equation.
Motivated by the study of kernels of bilinear pseudodifferential operators with symbols in a Hörmander class of critical order, we investigate boundedness properties of strongly singular Calderón--Zygmund operators in the bilinear setting. For such operators, whose kernels satisfy integral-type conditions, we establish boundedness properties in the setting of Lebesgue spaces as well as endpoint mappings involving the space of functions of bounded mean oscillations and the Hardy space. Assuming pointwise-type conditions on the kernels, we show that strongly singular bilinear Calderón--Zygmund o…
In this paper we characterize subsequences of Fejér means with respect to Vilenkin systems, which are bounded from the Hardy space $H_{p}$ to the Lebesgue space $L_{p},$ for all $0<p<1/2.$ The result is in a sense sharp.
Let $T$ be a multilinear operator which is bounded on certain products of unweighted Lebesgue spaces of $\mathbb R^n$. We assume that the associated kernel of $T$ satisfies some mild regularity condition which is weaker than the usual Hölder continuity of those in the class of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators. We then show the boundedness for $T$ and the boundedness of the commutator of $T$ with BMO functions on products of weighted Lebesgue spaces of $\mathbb R^n$. As an application, we obtain the weighted norm inequalities of multilinear Fourier multipliers and of the…
The restricted maximal operators of partial sums with respect to bounded Vilenkin systems are investigated. We derive the maximal subspace of positive numbers, for which this operator is bounded from the Hardy space $%H_{p}$ to the Lebesgue space $L_{p}$ for all $0<p\leq 1.$ We also prove that the result is sharp in a particular sense.
We consider bilinear oscillatory integrals, i.e. pseudo-product operators whose symbol involves an oscillating factor. Lebesgue space inequalities are established, which give decay as the oscillation becomes stronger ; this extends the well-known linear theory of oscillatory integral in some directions. The proof relies on a combination of time-frequency analysis of Coifman-Meyer type with stationary and non-stationary phase estimates. As a consequence of this analysis, we obtain Lebesgue estimates for new bilinear multipliers defined by non-smooth symbols.
In this work we obtain boundedness on weighted variable Lebesgue spaces of some maximal functions that come from the localized analysis considering a critical radius function. This analysis appears naturally in the context of the Schrödinger operator $\mathcal{L}=-Δ+V$ in $\mathbb{R}^d$, where $V$ a non-negative potential satisfying some specific reverse Hölder condition. We consider new classes of weights that locally behave as the Muckenhoupt class for Lebesgue spaces with variable exponents considered in Cruz Uribe et al. (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 394(2):744-760, 2012) and actually include them…
Let $0<α<n$ and $M_α$ be the fractional maximal function. The nonlinear commutator of $M_α$ and a locally integrable function $b$ is given by $[b,M_α](f)=bM_α(f)-M_α(bf)$. In this paper, we mainly give some necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of $[b,M_α]$ on variable Lebesgue spaces when $b$ belongs to Lipschitz or $BMO(\rn)$ spaces, by which some new characterizations for certain subclasses of Lipschitz and $BMO(\rn)$ spaces are obtained.
C. Stockdale, P. Villarroya, and B. Wick introduced the $ε$-maximal operator to prove the Haar multiplier is bounded on the weighted spaces $L^p(w)$ for a class of weights larger than $A_p$. We prove the $ε$-maximal operator and Haar multiplier are bounded on variable Lebesgue spaces $\Lpp(\R^n)$ for a larger collection of exponent functions than the log-Holder continuous functions used to prove the boundedness of the maximal operator on $\Lpp(\R^n)$. We also prove that the Haar multiplier is compact when restricted to a dyadic cube $Q_0$.
We prove that a generalized Fefferman-Phong type condition on a pair of weights $u$ and $v$ is sufficient for the boundedness of the commutators of potential type operators from $L^{p(\cdot)}_v$ into $L^{q(\cdot)}_u$. We also give an improvement of this result in the sense that we not only consider a variable version of power bump conditions, but also weaker norms related to Musielak-Orlicz functions. We consider a wider class of symbols including Lipschitz symbols and some generalizations.
In this article, the authors establish a general (two-weight) boundedness criterion for a pair of functions, $(F,f)$, on $\mathbb{R}^n$ in the scale of weighted Lebesgue spaces, weighted Lorentz spaces, (Lorentz--)Morrey spaces, and variable Lebesgue spaces. As applications, the authors give a unified approach to prove the (two-weight) boundedness of Calderón--Zygmund operators, Littlewood--Paley $g$-functions, Lusin area functions, Littlewood--Paley $g^\ast_λ$-functions, and fractional integral operators, in the aforementioned function spaces. Moreover, via applying the above (two-weight) bou…
We deal with the boundedness of the multilinear fractional integral operator $I_{γ,m}$ from a product of weighted Lebesgue spaces into adequate weighted Lipschitz spaces. Our results generalize some previous estimates not only for the linear case but also for the unweighted problem in the multilinear context. We characterize the classes of weights for which the problem described above holds and show the optimal range of the parameters involved. The optimality is understood in the sense that the parameters defining the corresponding spaces belong to a certain region. We further exhibit examples…
We study two classes of bounded operators on mixed norm Lebesgue spaces, namely composition operators and product operators. A complete description of bounded composition operators on mixed norm Lebesgue spaces are given. For a certain class of integral operators, we provide sufficient conditions for boundedness. We conclude by applying the developed technique to the investigation of Hardy-Steklov type operators.
We prove the $\ell^s$-boundedness of a family of integral operators with an operator-valued kernel on UMD Banach function spaces. This generalizes and simplifies earlier work by Gallarati, Veraar and the author, where the $\ell^s$-boundedness of this family of integral operators was shown on Lebesgue spaces. The proof is based on a characterization of $\ell^s$-boundedness as weighted boundedness by Rubio de Francia.
The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the behaviour of fractional integral operators associated to a measure on a metric space satisfying just a mild growth condition, namely that the measure of each ball is controlled by a fixed power of its radius. This allows, in particular, non--doubling measures. It turns out that this condition is enough to build up a theory that contains the classical results based upon the Lebesgue measure on euclidean space and their known extensions for doubling measures. We start by analyzing the images of the Lebesgue spaces associated to the measure. Th…
We obtain one variant of the extrapolation theorem of Rubio de Fracia for variable exponent Lebesgue spaces. As a consequence we obtain conditions guarantee boundedness of strongly singular integral operators, singular integral operators with rough kernels, fractional maximal operators related to spherical means, Bochner-Riesz operators in variable Lebesgue spaces.
We continue the study of local $Tb$ theorems for square functions defined in the upper half-space $(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}_+, μ\times dt/t)$. Here $μ$ is allowed to be a non-homogeneous measure in $\mathbb{R}^n$. In this paper we prove a boundedness result assuming local $L^q$ type testing conditions in the difficult range $q \in (1,2)$. Our theorem is a non-homogeneous version of a result of S. Hofmann valid for the Lebesgue measure. It is also an extension of the recent results of M. Lacey and the first named author where non-homogeneous local $L^2$ testing conditions have been considered.
We give one sufficient and two necessary conditions for boundedness between Lebesgue or Lorentz spaces of several classes of bilinear multiplier operators closely connected with the bilinear Hilbert transform.
In this paper we study integral operators with kernels \begin{equation*} K(x,y)= k_1( x- A_1y)...k_m( x-A_my), \end{equation*} $k_i(x)=\frac{Ω_i(x)}{|x|^{n/q_i}}$ where $Ω_i: \mathbb{R}^n\to \mathbb{R}$ are homogeneous functions of degree zero, satisfying a size and a Dini condition, $A_{i}$ are certain invertible matrices, and $\frac n{q_1}+\dots\frac n{q_m}=n-α,$ $0\leq α<n.$ We obtain the boundedness of this operator from $L^{p(\cdot)}$ into $% L^{q(\cdot)}$ for $\frac{1}{q(\cdot)}=\frac{1}{p(\cdot)}-\frac{α}{n},$ for certain exponent functions $p$ satisfying weaker conditions than the clas…
Let $(X,d,μ)$ be a non-homogeneous metric measure space satisfying both the geometrically doubling and the upper doubling measure conditions. In this paper, the boundedness of multilinear fractional integral operator in this setting is proved. Via a sharp maximal operator, the boundedness of commutators generated by multilinear fractional integral operator with $RBMO(μ)$ function on non-homogeneous metric measure spaces in Lebesgue spaces is obtained.
In this paper, the author studies the boundedness for a large class of sublinear operator $T_α, α\in[0,n)$ generated by Calder{ó}n-Zygmund operators ($α=0$) and generated by fractional integral operator ($α>0$) on generalized mixed Morrey spaces $M^φ_{\vec{q}}(\Bbb R^n)$. Moreover, the boundeness for the commutators of $T_α, α\in[0,n)$ on generalized mixed Morrey spaces $M^φ_{\vec{q}}(\Bbb R^n)$ is also studied. As applications, we obtain the boundedness for Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator, Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators, fractional integral operator, fractional maximal operato…
We obtain a sharp $L^2\times L^2 \to L^1$ boundedness criterion for a class of bilinear operators associated with a multiplier given by a signed sum of dyadic dilations of a given function, in terms of the $L^q$ integrability of this function; precisely we show that boundedness holds if and only if $q<4$. We discuss applications of this result concerning bilinear rough singular integrals and bilinear dyadic spherical maximal functions. Our second result is an optimal $L^2\times L^2\to L^1$ boundedness criterion for bilinear operators associated with multipliers with $L^\infty$ derivatives. Thi…
Let $α\in (0, 1]$, $β\in [0, n)$ and $T_{Ω,β}$ be a singular or fractional integral operator with homogeneous kernel $Ω$. In this article, a CMO type space ${\rm CMO}_α(\mathbb R^n)$ is introduced and studied. In particular, the relationship between ${\rm CMO}_α(\mathbb R^n)$ and the Lipchitz space $Lip_α(\mathbb R^n)$ is discussed. Moreover, a necessary condition of restricted boundedness of the iterated commutator $(T_{Ω,β})^m_b$ on weighted Lebesgue spaces via functions in $Lip_α(\mathbb R^n)$, and an equivalent characterization of the compactness for $(T_{Ω,β})^m_b$ via functions in ${\rm …
We prove sufficient conditions for the boundedness of the maximal operator on variable Lebesgue spaces with weights $φ_{t,γ}(τ)=|(τ-t)^γ|$, where $γ$ is a complex number, over arbitrary Carleson curves. If the curve has different spirality indices at the point $t$ and $γ$ is not real, then $φ_{t,γ}$ is an oscillating weight lying beyond the class of radial oscillating weights considered recently by V. Kokilashvili, N. Samko, and S. Samko.
We deal with the boundedness properties of higher order commutators related to some generalizations of the multilinear fractional integral operator of order $m$, $I_α^m$, from a product of weighted Lebesgue spaces into adequate weighted Lipschitz spaces, extending some previous estimates for the linear case. Our study includes two different types of commutators and sufficient conditions on the weights in order to guarantee the continuity properties described above. We also exhibit the optimal range of the parameters involved. The optimality is understood in the sense that the parameters defini…
We obtain (essentially sharp) boundedness results for certain generalized local maximal operators between fractional weighted Sobolev spaces and their modifications. Concrete boundedness results between well known fractional Sobolev spaces are derived as consequences of our main result. We also apply our boundedness results by studying both generalized neighbourhood capacities and the Lebesgue differentiation of fractional weighted Sobolev functions.
We consider a class of bi-parameter kernels and related square functions in the upper half-space, and give an efficient proof of a boundedness criterion for them. The proof uses modern probabilistic averaging methods and is based on controlling double Whitney averages over good cubes.
We extend the recently much-studied Hardy factorization theorems to the weight case. The key point of this paper is to establish the factorization theorems without individual condition on the weight functions. As a direct application, we obtain the characterizations of $BMO(\mathbb{R}^n)$ space and Lipschitz spaces via the weighted boundedness of commutators of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators with the genuinely multilinear weights.
We consider two types of multilinear pseudodifferential operators. First, we prove the boundedness of multilinear pseudodifferential operators with symbols which are only measurable in the spatial variables in weighted Lebesgue spaces. These results generalise earlier work of the present authors concerning linear pseudo-pseudodifferential operators. Secondly, we investigate the boundedness of bilinear pseudodifferential operators with symbols in the Hörmander $S^{m}_{ρ, δ}$ classes. These results are new in the case $ρ< 1$, that is, outwith the scope of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund theory.
Given an $m$-tuple of weights $\vec{v}=(v_1,\dots,v_m)$, we characterize the classes of pairs $(w,\vec{v})$ involved with the boundedness properties of the multilinear fractional integral operator from $\prod_{i=1}^mL^{p_i}\left(v_i^{p_i}\right)$ into suitable Lipschitz spaces associated to a parameter $δ$, $\mathcal{L}_w(δ)$. Our results generalize some previous estimates not only for the linear case but also for the unweighted problem in the multilinear context. We emphasize the study related to the range of the parameters involved with the problem described above, which is optimal in the se…
In this paper, we establish sufficient conditions for a singular integral $T$ to be bounded from certain Hardy spaces $H^p_L$ to Lebesgue spaces $L^p$, $0< p \le 1$, and for the commutator of $T$ and a BMO function to be weak-type bounded on Hardy space $H_L^1$. We then show that our sufficient conditions are applicable to the following cases: (i) $T$ is the Riesz transform or a square function associated with the Laplace-Beltrami operator on a doubling Riemannian manifold, (ii) $T$ is the Riesz transform associated with the magnetic Schrödinger operator on an Euclidean space, and (iii) $T = g…
Let $p\in(0, 1]$. In this paper, the authors prove that a sublinear operator $T$ (which is originally defined on smooth functions with compact support) can be extended as a bounded sublinear operator from product Hardy spaces $H^p({{\mathbb R}^n\times{\mathbb R}^m})$ to some quasi-Banach space ${\mathcal B}$ if and only if $T$ maps all $(p, 2, s_1, s_2)$-atoms into uniformly bounded elements of ${\mathcal B}$. Here $s_1\ge\lfloor n(1/p-1)\rfloor$ and $s_2\ge\lfloor m(1/p-1)\rfloor$. As usual, $\lfloor n(1/p-1)\rfloor$ denotes the maximal integer no more than $n(1/p-1)$. Applying this result, t…
