The paper concerns nilpotent associative dialgebras and their corresponding diassociative Schur multipliers. Using Lie (and group) theory as a guide, we first extend a classic five-term cohomological sequence under alternative conditions in the nilpotent setting. This main result is then applied to obtain a new proof for a previous extension of the same sequence. It also yields a different extension of the sequence that involves terms in the upper central series. Furthermore, we use the main result to obtain a collection of dimension bounds on the multiplier of a nilpotent diassociative algebra. These differ notably from the Lie case. Since diassociative algebras generalize associative algebras, we obtain an associative analogue of the results herein. We conclude by computing both the associative and diassociative multipliers of an associative algebra. This paper is part of an ongoing project to advance extension theory in the context of several Loday algebras.
The paper concerns perfect diassociative algebras and their implications to the theory of central extensions. It is first established that perfect diassociative algebras have strong ties with universal central extensions. Then, using a known characterization of the multiplier in terms of a free presentation, we obtain a special cover for perfect diassociative algebras, as well as some of its properties. The subsequent results connect and build on the previous topics. For the final theorem, we invoke an extended Hochschild-Serre type spectral sequence to show that, for a perfect diassociative a…
The objective of this paper is to develop diassociative analogues of Lie-theoretic results from Peggy Batten's 1993 dissertation. We first prove that covers of diassociative algebras are unique. Second, we show that the multiplier of a diassociative algebra is characterized by the second cohomology group with coefficients in the field. Third, we establish criteria for when the center of a cover maps onto the center of the algebra. Along the way, we obtain a collection of exact sequences, characterizations, and a brief theory of unicentral diassociative algebras and stem extensions. This paper …
Given a pair of nilpotent Lie algebras $A$ and $B$, an extension $0\xrightarrow{} A\xrightarrow{} L\xrightarrow{} B\xrightarrow{} 0$ is not necessarily nilpotent. However, if $L_1$ and $L_2$ are extensions which correspond to lifts of a map $Φ:B\xrightarrow{} \text{Out}(A)$, it has been shown that $L_1$ is nilpotent if and only if $L_2$ is nilpotent. In the present paper, we prove analogues of this result for the algebras of Loday. As an important consequence, we thereby gain its associative analogue as a special case of diassociative algebras.
In this article we define the $c$-nilpotent multiplier of a finite dimensional Lie suepralgebra. We characterize the structure of $2$-nilpotent multiplier of finite dimensional nilpotent Lie superalgebras whose derived subalgebras have dimension at most one. Then we give an upper bound on the dimension of $2$-nilpotent multiplier of any finite dimensional nilpotent Lie superalgebra. Moreover, we discuses the $2$-capability of special as well as odd Heisenberg Lie superalgebras and abelian Lie superalgebras.
In this paper, we introduce the concept of (super-)multiplier-rank for Lie superalgeras and classify all the finite-dimensional nilpotent Lie superalgebras of multiplier-rank $\leq 2$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. In the process, we also determine the multipliers of Heisenberg superalgebras.
We consider the Schur multipliers of finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras. If the algebra has dimension greater than one, then the Schur multiplier is non-zero. We give a direct proof of an upper bound for the dimension of the Schur multiplier as a function of class and the minimum number of generators of the algebra. We then compare this bound with another known bound.
We introduce the notion of c-nilpotent Schur Lie-multiplier of Leibniz algebras. We obtain exact sequences and formulas of the dimensions of the underlying vector spaces relating the c-nilpotent Schur Lie-multiplier of a Leibniz algebra Q and its quotient by a two-sided ideal. These tools are used to characterize Lie-nilpotency and c-Lie-stem covers of Leibniz algebras. We prove the existence of c-Lie-stem covers for finite dimensional Leibniz algebras and the non existence of c-covering on certain Lie-nilpotent Leibniz algebras with non trivial c-nilpotent Schur Lie-multiplier, and we provide…
The paper concerns an analogue of the famous Schur multiplier in the context of associative algebras and a measure of how far its dimension is from being maximal. Applying a methodology from Lie theory, we characterize all finite-dimensional nilpotent associative algebras for which this measure is ten or less.
In this paper, we determine the behavior of the $c$-nilpotent multiplier of Lie algebras with respect to the direct sums. Then we give some results on the $c$-capability of the direct sum of finite dimensional Lie algebras.
Let $ L $ be an $ n $-dimensional non-abelian nilpotent Lie algebra and $ s(L)=\frac{1}{2}(n-1)(n-2)+1-\dim \mathcal{M}(L) $ where $ \mathcal{M}(L) $ is the Schur multiplier of a Lie algebra $ L. $ The structures of nilpotent Lie algebras $ L $ when $ s(L)\in \lbrace 0,1,2,3,4,5\rbrace $ are determined. In this paper, we classify all non-abelian nilpotent Lie algebras $ L $ when $ s(L)=6,7. $
Let $L$ be a nilpotent Lie superalgebra of dimension $(m\mid n)$ and $s(L) = \frac{1}{2}[(m + n - 1)(m + n -2)]+ n+ 1 - \dim \mathcal{M}(L)$, where $\mathcal{M}(L)$ denotes the Schur multiplier of $L$. Here $s(L)\geq 0$ and the structure of all non-abelian nilpotent Lie superalgebras with $s(L)=0$ is known((\cite{Nayak2019}). This paper is devoted to obtain all nilpotent Lie superalgebras when $s(L) \leq 2$. Further, we apply those results to list all non-abelian nilpotent Lie superalgebras $L$ with $ t(L) \leq 4$.
For a finite dimensional Lie algebra $L$, it is known that $s(L)=\f{1}{2}(n-1)(n-2)+1-\mathrm{dim} M(L)$ is non negative. Moreover, the structure of all finite nilpotent Lie algebras is characterized when $s(L)=0,1$ in \cite{ni,ni4}. In this paper, we intend to characterize all nilpotent Lie algebra while $s(L)=2.$
This paper is devoted to the characterization of all finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras $L$ with $S^{2}(L)=0,1,2,3$, where we define $dim ~\mathcal{M}^{2}(L) = \dfrac{1}{3}n(n-1)(n-2)+3-S^{2}(L).$
For a nilpotent Lie algebra $L$ of dimension $n$ and dim$(L^2)=m$, we find the upper bound dim$(M(L))\leq {1/2}(n+m-2)(n-m-1)+1$, where $M(L)$ denotes the Schur multiplier of $L$. In case $m=1$ the equality holds if and only if $L\cong H(1)\oplus A$, where $A$ is an abelian Lie algebra of dimension $n-3$ and H(1) is the Heisenberg algebra of dimension 3.
There are some results on nilpotent Lie algebras $ L $ investigate the structure of $ L $ rely on the study of its $2$-nilpotent multiplier. It is showed that the dimension of the $2$-nilpotent multiplier of $ L $ is equal to $ \frac{1}{3} n(n-2)(n-1)+3-s_2(L).$ Characterizing the structure of all nilpotent Lie algebras has been obtained for the case $ s_2(L)=0.$ This paper is devoted to the characterization of all nilpotent Lie algebras when $ 0\leq s_2(L)\leq 6.$ Moreover, we show that which of them are $2$-capable.
In the present context, we investigate to obtain some more results about $2$-nilpotent multiplier $\mathcal{M}^{(2)}(L)$ of a finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra $L$. For instance, we characterize the structure of $\mathcal{M}^{(2)}(H)$ when $H$ is a Heisenberg Lie algebra. Moreover, we give some inequalities on $ \mathrm{dim}~ \mathcal{M}^{(2)}(L)$ to reduce a well known upper bound on $2$-nilpotent multiplier as much as possible. Finally, we show that $H(m)$ is 2-capable if and only if m=1.
In this paper, first we prove that all finite dimensional special Heisenberg Lie superalgebras with even center have same dimension, say $(2m+1\mid n)$ for some non-negative integers $m,n$ and are isomorphism with them. Further, for a nilpotent Lie superalgebra $L$ of dimension $(m\mid n)$ and $\dim (L') = (r\mid s)$ with $r+s \geq 1$, we find the upper bound $\dim \mathcal{M}(L)\leq \frac{1}{2}\left[(m + n + r + s - 2)(m + n - r -s -1) \right] + n + 1$, where $\mathcal{M}(L)$ denotes the Schur multiplier of $L$. Moreover, if $(r, s) =(1, 0)\; (\mathrm{respectively}\; (r,s) = (0,1))$, then the…
The paper concerns extra special associative algebras, an analogue of the Heisenberg Lie algebra. In particular, we say that an associative algebra is extra special if its center is equal to its derived ideal and the center is 1-dimensional. In this paper, we classify extra special associative algebras by proving that their structure is equivalent to that of extra special Leibniz algebras. We then characterize their (Schur) multipliers via dimension and completely determine their capability. We connect this with the related notion of unicentral algebras and discuss the problem of classifying e…
For a non-abelian Lie algebra $L$ of dimension $n$ with the derived subalgebra of dimension $m$ , the first author earlier proved that the dimension of its Schur multiplier is bounded by $\frac{1}{2}(n+m-2)(n-m-1)+1$. In the current work, we give some new inequalities on the exterior square and the Schur multiplier of Lie algebras and then we obtain the class of all nilpotent Lie algebras which attains the above bound. Moreover, we also improve this bound as much as possible.
In this paper, the structure of all finite-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras of class two with derived subalgebra of dimension two over an arbitrary field $ \mathbb{F} $ is determined. Furthermore, we give the structure of the Schur multiplier of such Lie algebras.
By considering the nilpotent Lie algebra with the derived subalgebra of dimension $ 2$, we compute some functors include the Schur multiplier, the exterior square and the tensor square of these Lie algebras. We also give the corank of such Lie algebras.
Let $(N,L)$ be a pair of finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras and $N$ admits a complement $K$ in $L$ such that $\dim N=n$ and $\dim K=m$. Let $s(N,L)=\frac{1}{2}(n-1)(n-2)+1+(n-1)m-\dim \M(N,L)$, where $\M(N,L)$ denotes the multiplier of the pair $(N,L)$. The aim of this paper is to classify all pairs of finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras $(N,L)$, for which $s(N,L)=6,7$.
From [Problem 1729, Groups of prime power order, Vol. 3], Berkovich et al. asked to obtain the Schur multiplier and the representation of a group $G$, when $G$ is a special $p$-group minimally generated by $d$ elements and $|G'|=p^{\frac{1}{2}d(d-1)}$. Since there are analogies between groups and Lie algebras, we intend to give an answer to this question similarly for nilpotent Lie algebras. Furthermore, we give some results about the tensor square and the Schur multiplier of some nilpotent Lie algebras of class two.
The paper is devoted to obtain an upper bound for the Schur multiplier of nilpotent Lie algebras of maximal class. It improves the later upper bounds on the Schur multiplier of such Lie algebras.
In this paper, we extend the notion of the Bogomolov multipliers and the CP-extensions to Lie algebras. Then we compute the Bogomolov multipliers for Abelian, Heisenberg and nilpotent Lie algebras of class at most 6. Finally we compute the Bogomolov multipliers of some simple complex Lie algebras.
Given a nilpotent Lie algebra $L$ of dimension $\le 6$ on an arbitrary field of characteristic $\neq 2$, we show a direct method which allows us to detect the capability of $L$ via computations on the size of its nonabelian exterior square $L \wedge L$. For dimensions higher than $ 6$, we show a result of general nature, based on the evidences of the low dimensional case, focusing on generalized Heisenberg algebras. Indeed we detect the capability of $L \wedge L$ via the size of the Schur multiplier $M(L/Z^\wedge(L))$ of $L/Z^\wedge(L)$, where $Z^\wedge(L)$ denotes the exterior center of $L$.
Recently, the authors obtained the Schur multiplier, the non-abelian tensor square and the non-abelian exterior square of $d$-generator generalized Heisenberg Lie algebras of rank $ \frac{1}{2}d(d-1).$ Here, we intend to obtain the same results for $d$-generator generalized Heisenberg Lie algebras of rank $ t$ when $ \frac{1}{2}d(d-1)-3 \leq t\leq \frac{1}{2}d(d-1)-1.$ Then, as a result, we give similar consequences for a nilpotent Lie algebra $ L $ of class two when $ \dim (L/Z(L))=d,$ $ \dim L^2=t $ such that $ \frac{1}{2}d(d-1)-3 \leq t\leq \frac{1}{2}d(d-1)-1.$
