By generalizing Frobenius' polynomial method to good partition algebra, we will develop new character theories for a finite group $G$. A uniform defining equations are derived for these kinds of character theories. The new character theories leads to various factorizations of the group determinant. We will show that these new character theories are equivalent to the Frobenius polynomials of the correspondent good partition algebras. In particular, the character table of a finite group $G$ can be replaced by the Frobenius polynomial of $G$ which is a kind of degenerate of the group determinant. As applications, we find a new series of invariants $p_{ijl}$ for a finite group. In particular, a finite simple group is determined by these invariants. As further applications, the degrees of all irreducible characters can also be realized as the solutions of a polynomial of $G$ and we can combine the refined McKay conjecture and part of Galois conjecture of Navarro on degrees of irreducible characters into a new general conjecture.
We introduce the notion of a super-representation of a quiver. For super-representations of quivers over a field of characteristic zero, we describe the corresponding (super)algebras of polynomial semi-invariants and polynomial invariants.
In this paper, we obtain a general formula for the characteristic polynomial of a finitely dimensional representation of Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}(2, \C )$ and the form for these characteristic polynomials, and prove there is one to one correspondence between representations and their characteristic polynomials. We define a product on these characteristic polynomials, endowing them with a monoid structure.
Orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras are fundamental symmetries in modern physics, such as massive supergravity. However, their representations are far from being thoroughly understood. In the present paper, we completely determine the structure of their various supersymmetric polynomial representations obtained by swapping bosonic multiplication operators and differential operators in the canonical supersymmetric polynomial representations. In particular, we obtain certain new infinite-dimensional irreducible representations and new composition series of indecomposable representations for these …
In this paper, the correspondence between the finite dimensional representations of a simple Lie algebra and their characteristic polynomials is established, and a monoid structure on these characteristic polynomials is constructed. Furthermore, the characteristic polynomials of sl(2, C) on some classical simple Lie algebras through adjoint representations are studied, and we present some results of Borel subalgebras and parabolic subalgebras of simple Lie algebras through characteristic polynomials.
In this paper, various polynomial representations of strange classical Lie superalgebras are investigated. It turns out that the representations for the algebras of type P are indecomposable, and we obtain the composition series of the underlying modules. As modules of the algebras of type Q, the polynomial algebras are decomposed into a direct sum of irreducible submodules.

Using the skew-symmetry of the differential operators and multiplication operators in the canonical representations of finite-dimensional classical Lie algebras, we obtain some noncanonical polynomial representations of the classical Lie algebras. The representation spaces of all polynomials are decomposed into irreducible submodules, which are infinite-dimensional. Bases for the irreducible submodules are constructed. In particular, we obtain some new infinite-dimensional irreducible modules of symplectic Lie algebras that are not of highest weight type.
We classify Morita equivalence classes of indecomposable self-injective cellular algebras which have polynomial growth representation type, assuming that the base field has an odd characteristic. This assumption on the characteristic is for the cellularity to be a Morita invariant property.
We define natural classes of rational and polynomial representations of the Yangian of the general linear Lie algebra. We also present the classification and explicit realizations of all irreducible rational representations of the Yangian.
Polynomial representations of general linear groups and modules over Schur algebras are compared. We work over an arbitrary commutative ring and show that Schur-Weyl duality is the key for an equivalence between both categories.
We compute the Hochschild cohomology algebras of Ringel-self-dual blocks of polynomial representations of $\GL_2$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>2$, that is, of any block whose number of simple modules is a power of $p$. These algebras are finite-dimensional and we provide an explicit description of their bases and multiplications.
In this paper we study of *-representations for polynomial algebras on quantum matrix spaces. We deal with two special cases of the polynomial algebras, namely the algebra of polynomials on quantum complex matrices $\mathrm{Mat_2}$ and on quantum complex symmetric matrices $\mathrm{Mat_2^{sym}}$. For the second algebra we classify all irreducible *-representations by bounded operators in a Hilbert space (up to a unitary equivalence). Moreover, we present a construction of *-representations of the above algebras which enables to obtain the full list of *-representations (sometimes by passing to…
We prove the existence of Hall polynomials for prinjective representations of finite partially ordered sets of finite prinjective type. In Section 4 we shortly discuss consequences of the existence of Hall polynomials, in particular, we are able to define a generic Ringel-Hall algebra for prinjective representations of posets of finite prinjective type.
Singular vectors of a representation of a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra are weight vectors in the underlying module that are nullified by positive root vectors. In this article, we use partial differential equations to find all the singular vectors of the polynomial representation of the simple Lie algebra of type $F_4$ over its basic irreducible module. As applications, we obtain a new combinatorial identity about the number 24 and explicit generators of invariants. Moreover, we show that the number of irreducible submodules contained in the space of homogeneous harmonic polynomials w…
In this paper, we study the polynomial representation of the double affine Hecke algebra of type $(C^\vee_n, C_n)$ for specialized parameters. Inductively and combinatorially, we give a linear basis of the representation in terms of linear combinations of non-symmetric Koornwinder polynomials. The basis consists of generalized eigenfunctions with respect to $q$-Dunkl-Cherednik operators $\hat{Y}_i$, and it gives a way to cancel out poles of non-symmetric Koornwinder polynomials. We examine irreducibility and $Y$-semisimplicity of the representation for the specialized parameters. For some case…
The rings of symmetric polynomials form an inverse system whose limit, the ring of symmetric functions, is the model for the bosonic Fock space representation of the affine Lie algebra. We categorify this construction by considering an inverse limit of categories of polynomial representation of general linear groups. We show that this limit naturally carries an action of the affine Lie algebra (in the sense of Rouquier), thereby obtaining a famiy of categorifications of the bosonic Fock space representation.
In this paper we study the topology of the moduli spaces of representations of degree $2$ for free monoids. We calculate the virtual Hodge polynomials of the character varieties for several types of $2$-dimensional representations. Furthermore, we count the number of isomorphism classes for each type of $2$-dimensional representations over any finite field ${\Bbb F}_q$, and show that the number coincides with the virtual Hodge polynomial evaluated at $q$.
The symmetric group acts on the power set and also on the set of square free polynomials. These two related representations are analyzed from the stability point of view. An application is given for the action of the symmetric group on the cohomology of the pure braid group.
We determine the composition factors of the polynomial representation of DAHA, conjectured by M. Kasatani. We reduce the determination of composition factors of polynomial representations of DAHA to the determination of the composition factors of the Weyl module $W^{(1^n)}$ for the $v$-Schur algebra. By using the LLT-Ariki type theorem of $v$-Schur algebra proved by Varagnolo-Vasserot, we determine the composition factors of $W^{(1^n)}$ by calculating the upper global basis and crystal basis of Fock space of $U_q(\hat{\mf{sl}}_\ell)$.
We consider the tensor product of modules over the polynomial algebra corresponding to the usual tensor product of linear operators. We present a general description of the representation ring in case the ground field k is perfect. It is made explicit in the special cases when k is real closed respectively algebraically closed. Furthermore, we discuss the generalisation of this problem to representations of quivers. In particular the representation ring of quivers of extended Dynkin type A is provided.
The decomposition of the tensor product of a positive and a negative discrete series representation of the Lie algebra su(1,1) is a direct integral over the principal unitary series representations. In the decomposition discrete terms can occur, and the discrete terms are a finite number of discrete series representations or one complementary series representation. The interpretation of Meixner functions and polynomials as overlap coefficients in the four classes of representations and the Clebsch-Gordan decomposition, lead to a general bilinear generating function for the Meixner polynomials.…
Quantum super 2-shpheres and the corresponding quantum super transformation group are introduced in analogy to the well-known quantum 2-shpheres and quantum SL(2), connection between little $t$-Jacobi polynomials and the finite dimensional representations of the quantum super group is formulated, and the Peter-Weyl theorem is obtained.
We study a Laurent polynomial representation $V$ of the double affine Hecke algebra of type $GL_n$ for specialized parameters $t^{k+1}q^{r-1}=1$. We define a series of subrepresentations of $V$ by using a vanishing condition. For some cases, we give an explicit basis of the subrepresentation in terms of nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials. These results are nonsymmetric versions of \cite{FJMM} and \cite{KMSV}.
We introduce and study deformations of finite-dimensional modules over rational Cherednik algebras. Our main tool is a generalization of usual harmonic polynomials for Coxeter groups -- the so-called quasiharmonic polynomials. A surprising application of this approach is the construction of canonical elementary symmetric polynomials and their deformations for all Coxeter groups.
We give a new representation-theoretic proof of the branching rule for Macdonald polynomials using the Etingof-Kirillov Jr. expression for Macdonald polynomials as traces of intertwiners of U_q(gl_n). In the Gelfand-Tsetlin basis, we show that diagonal matrix elements of such intertwiners are given by application of Macdonald's operators to a simple kernel. An essential ingredient in the proof is a map between spherical parts of double affine Hecke algebras of different ranks based upon the Dunkl-Kasatani conjecture.
We prove a general representation stability result for polynomial coefficient systems which lets us prove representation stability and secondary homological stability for many families of groups with polynomial coefficients. This gives two generalizations of classical homological stability theorems with twisted coefficients. We apply our results to prove homological stability for hyperelliptic mapping class groups with twisted coefficients, prove new representation stability results for congruence subgroups, establish secondary homological stability for groups of diffeomorphisms of surfaces vi…
We derive orthogonality relations for discrete q-ultraspherical polynomials and their duals by means of operators of representations of the quantum algebra su_q(1,1). Spectra and eigenfunctions of these operators are found explicitly. These eigenfunctions, when normalized, form an orthonormal basis in the representation space.
A polynomial ring with rational coefficients is an irreducible representation of Lie algebras of endomorphisms of exterior powers of a infinite countable dimensional $\mathbb{Q}$-vector space. We give an explicit description of it, using suitable vertex operators on exterior algebras, which mimick those occurring in the bosonic vertex representation of the Lie algebra $gl_\infty$, due to Date--Jimbo--Kashiwara and Miwa (DJKM).
