The paper is devoted studying solvable Leibniz algebras with a nilradical possessing the codimension equals the number of its generators. We describe this class in non-split nilradical case. Then the case of split nilradical is worked out. We show that the results obtained earlier on this class of Leibniz algebras come as particular cases of the results of this paper. It is shown that such a solvable extension is unique. Finally, we prove that the solvable Leibniz algebras considered are complete.
In this paper we continue the description of solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a filiform algebra. In fact, solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a naturally graded filiform Leibniz algebra are described in \cite{Campo} and \cite{SolGFil}. Here we extend the description to solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a filiform algebra. We establish that solvable Leibniz algebras with filiform Lie nilradical are Lie algebras.
In this paper, we describe the automorphisms of solvable Leibniz algebras with null-filiform nilradical. Moreover we describe the automorphisms of solvable Leibniz algebras with naturally graded non-Lie filiform nilradicals, whose the dimension of complementary space is maximal.
We extend the classification of solvable Lie algebras with abelian nilradicals to classify solvable Leibniz algebras which are one dimensional extensions of an abelian nilradicals.
In this paper solvable Leibniz algebras with naturally graded non-Lie $p$-filiform $(n-p\geq4)$ nilradical and with one-dimensional complemented space of nilradical are described. Moreover, solvable Leibniz algebras with abelian nilradical and extremal (minimal, maximal) dimensions of complemented space nilradical are studied. The rigidity of solvable Leibniz algebras with abelian nilradical and maximal dimension of its complemented space is proved.
In the paper the class of all solvable extensions of a filiform Leibniz algebra in the infinite-dimensional case is classified. The filiform Leibniz algebra is taken as a maximal pro-nilpotent ideal of residually solvable Leibniz algebra. It is proven that the second cohomology group of the extension is trivial.
The present article is a part of the study of solvable Leibniz algebras with a given nilradical. In this paper solvable Leibniz algebras, whose nilradicals is naturally graded quasi-filiform algebra and the complemented space to the nilradical has maximal dimension, are described up to isomorphism.
This work is devoted to the classification of solvable Leibniz algebras with an abelian nilradical. We consider $k-1$ dimensional extension of $k$-dimensional abelian algebras and classify all $2k-1$-dimensional solvable Leibniz algebras with an abelian nilradical of dimension $k$.
The present article is a part of the study of solvable Leibniz algebras with a given nilradical. In this paper solvable Leibniz algebras, whose nilradicals is naturally graded quasi-filiform algebra and the complemented space to the nilradical has one dimension, are described up to isomorphism.
In this paper the description of solvable Lie algebras with triangular nilradicals is extended to Leibniz algebras. It is proven that the matrices of the left and right operators on elements of Leibniz algebra have upper triangular forms. We establish that solvable Leibniz algebra of a maximal possible dimension with a given triangular nilradical is a Lie algebra. Furthermore, solvable Leibniz algebras with triangular nilradicals of low dimensions are classified.
In this paper we show that the method for describing solvable Lie algebras with given nilradical by means of non-nilpotent outer derivations of the nilradical is also applicable to the case of Leibniz algebras. Using this method we extend the classification of solvable Lie algebras with naturally graded filiform Lie algebra to the case of Leibniz algebras. Namely, the classification of solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a naturally graded filiform Leibniz algebra is obtained.
All solvable Lie algebras with Heisenberg nilradical have already been classified. We extend this result to a classification of solvable Leibniz algebras with Heisenberg nilradical. As an example, we show the complete classification of all real or complex Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is the 3-dimensional Heisenberg algebra.
Along this paper we show that under certain conditions the method for describing of solvable Lie and Leibniz algebras with maximal codimension of nilradical is also extensible to Lie and Leibniz superalgebras, respectively. In particular, we totally determine the solvable Lie and Leibniz superalgebras with maximal codimension of model filiform and model nilpotent nilradicals. Finally, it is established that the superderivations of the obtained superalgebras are inner.
We extend conjugacy results from Lie algebras to their Leibniz algebra generalizations. The proofs in the Lie case depend on anti-commutativity. Thus it is necessary to find other paths in the Leibniz case. Some of these results involve Cartan subalgebras. Our results can be used to extend other results on Cartan subalgebras. We show an example here and others will be shown in future work.
Leibniz algebras are certain generalization of Lie algebras. In this paper we give classification of non-Lie solvable (left) Leibniz algebras of dimension $\leq 8$ with one dimensional derived subalgebra. We use the canonical forms for the congruence classes of matrices of bilinear forms to obtain our result. Our approach can easily be extended to classify these algebras of higher dimensions. We also revisit the classification of three dimensional non-Lie solvable (left) Leibniz algebras.
We show that any local derivation on the solvable Leibniz algebras with model or abelian nilradicals, whose the dimension of complementary space is maximal is a derivation. We show that solvable Leibniz algebras with abelian nilradicals, which have 1-dimension complementary space, admit local derivations which are not derivations. Moreover, similar problem concerning 1-local derivations of such algebras are investigated and an example of solvable Leibniz algebra given such that any 2-local derivation on it is a derivation, but which admit local derivations which are not derivations.
The present article is a part of the study of solvable Leibniz algebras with a given nilradical. In this paper solvable Leibniz algebras, whose nilradicals is naturally graded $p$-filiform non-Lie Leibniz algebra $(n-p\geq4)$ and the complemented space to nilradical has maximal dimension, are described up to isomorphism. Moreover, among obtained algebras we indicate the rigid and complete algebras
The paper is devoted to the so-called complete Leibniz algebras. It is known that a Lie algebra with a complete ideal is split. We will prove that this result is valid for Leibniz algebras whose complete ideal is a solvable algebra such that the codimension of nilradical is equal to the number of generators of the nilradical.
A classification exists for Lie algebras whose nilradical is the triangular Lie algebra $T(n)$. We extend this result to a classification of all solvable Leibniz algebras with nilradical $T(n)$. As an example we show the complete classification of all Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is $T(4)$.
In this paper we classify solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a null-filiform algebra. We extend the obtained classification to the case when the solvable Leibniz algebra is decomposed as a direct sum of its nilradical, which is a direct sum of null-filiform ideals, and a one-dimensional complementary subspace. Moreover, in this case we establish that these ideals are ideals of the algebra, as well.
In this paper we describe solvable Leibniz algebras whose quotient algebra by one-dimensional ideal is a Lie algebra with rank equal to the length of the characteristic sequence of its nilpotent radical. We prove that such Leibniz algebra is unique and centerless. Also it is proved that the first and the second cohomology groups of the algebra with coefficients in itself is trivial.
For a sequence of the naturally graded quasi-filiform Leibniz algebra of second type $\mathcal{L}^4$ introduced by Camacho, Gómez, González and Omirov, all the possible right solvable indecomposable extensions over the field $\Bbb C$ are constructed.
In this paper we prove that any local automorphism on the solvable Leibniz algebras with null-filiform and naturally graded non-Lie filiform nilradicals, whose dimension of complementary space is maximal is an automorphism. Furthermore, the same problem concerning 2-local automorphisms of such algebras is investigated and we obtain the analogously results for 2-local automorphisms.
For a sequence of the naturally graded quasi-filiform Leibniz algebra of second type $\mathcal{L}^2$ introduced by Camacho, Gómez, González and Omirov, all possible right and left solvable indecomposable extensions over the field $\Bbb R$ are constructed so that the algebra serves as the nilradical of the corresponding solvable Leibniz algebras we find in the paper.
We show that for fields that are of characteristic 0 or algebraically closed of characteristic greater than 5, that certain classes of Leibniz algebras are 2-recognizeable. These classes are solvable, strongly solvable and super solvable. These results hold in Lie algebras and in general for groups.
In this paper solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is quasi-filiform Lie algebra of maximum length, are classified. The rigidity of such Leibniz algebras with two-dimensional complemented space to nilradical is proved.
From the theory of finite dimensional Lie algebras it is known that every finite dimensional Lie algebra is decomposed into a semidirect sum of semisimple subalgebra and solvable radical. Moreover, due to work of Mal'cev the study of solvable Lie algebras is reduced to the study of nilpotent ones. For the finite dimensional Leibniz algebras the analogues of the mentioned results are not proved yet. In order to get some idea how to establish the results we examine the Leibniz algebra for which the quotient algebra with respect to the ideal generated by squares elements of the algebra (denoted b…
The present paper is devoted to the description of rigid solvable Leibniz algebras. In particular, we prove that solvable Leibniz algebras under some conditions on the nilradical are rigid and we describe four-dimensional solvable Leibniz algebras with three-dimensional rigid nilradical. We show that the Grunewald-O'Halloran's conjecture "any $n$-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra is a degeneration of some algebra of the same dimension" holds for Lie algebras of dimensions less than six and for Leibniz algebras of dimensions less than four. The algebra of level one, which is omitted in the 1991…
In this paper, we investigate the Leibniz triple system $T$ and its universal Leibniz envelope $U(T)$. The involutive automorphism of $U(T)$ determining $T$ is introduced, which gives a characterization of the $\Z_2$-grading of $U(T)$. We give the relationship between the solvable radical $R(T)$ of $T$ and $Rad(U(T))$, the solvable radical of $U(T)$. Further, Levi's theorem for Leibniz triple systems is obtained. Moreover, the relationship between the nilpotent radical of $T$ and that of $U(T)$ is studied. Finally, we introduce the notion of representations of a Leibniz triple system.
The description of complex solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a naturally graded filiform algebra is already known. Unfortunately, a mistake was made in that description. Namely, in the case where the dimension of the solvable Leibniz algebra with nilradical $F_n^1$ is equal to $n+2$, it was asserted that there is no such algebra. However, it was possible for us to find a unique $(n+2)$-dimensional solvable Leibniz algebra with nilradical $F_n^1$. In addition, we establish the triviality of the second group of cohomology for this algebra with coefficients in itself, which implies it…
We classify all nonnilpotent, solvable Leibniz algebras with the property that all proper subalgebras are nilpotent. This generalizes the work of Stitzinger and Towers in Lie algebras. We show several examples which illustrate the differences between the Lie and Leibniz results.
In this paper, we compare the abelian subalgebras and ideals of maximal dimension for finite-dimensional Leibniz algebras. We study Leibniz algebras containing abelian subalgebras of codimension 1, solvable and supersolvable Leibniz algebras for codimensions 1 and 2, nilpotent Leibniz algebras in case of codimension 2 and we also analyze the case of k-abelian p-filiform Leibniz algebras. Throughout the paper, we also give examples to clarify some results and the need for restrictions on the underlying field.
This paper is devoted to the description of complex finite-dimensional algebras of level two. We obtain the classification of algebras of level two in the variety of Leibniz algebras. It is shown that, up to isomorphism, there exist three Leibniz algebras of level two, one of which is solvable, and two of which are nilpotent. Moreover we describe all algebras of level two in the variety of nilpotent algebras.
Oscillator Lie algebras are the only non commutative solvable Lie algebras which carry a bi-invariant Lorentzian metric. In this paper, we determine all the Poisson structures, and in particular, all symmetric Leibniz algebra structures whose underlying Lie algebra is an oscillator Lie algebra. We give also all the symmetric Leibniz bialgebra structures whose underlying Lie bialgebra structure is a Lie bialgebra structure on an oscillator Lie algebra. We derive some geometric consequences on oscillator Lie groups.
W. A. Moens proved that a Lie algebra is nilpotent if and only if it admits an invertible Leibniz-derivation. In this paper we show that with the definition of Leibniz-derivation from W. A. Moens the similar result for non Lie Leibniz algebras is not true. Namely, we give an example of non nilpotent Leibniz algebra which admits an invertible Leibniz-derivation. In order to extend the results of paper W. A. Moens for Leibniz algebras we introduce a definition of Leibniz-derivation of Leibniz algebras which agrees with Leibniz-derivation of Lie algebras case. Further we prove that a Leibniz alge…
This work completes the study of the solvable Leibniz algebras, more precisely, it completes the classification of the $3$-filiform Leibniz algebras of maximum length \cite{3-filiform}. Moreover, due to the good structure of the algebras of maximum length, we also tackle some of their cohomological properties. Our main tools are the previous result of Cabezas and Pastor \cite{Pastor}, the construction of appropriate homogeneous basis in the considered connected gradation and the computational support provided by the two programs implemented in the software \textit{Mathematica}.
Basing ourselves on the categorical notions of central extensions and commutators in the framework of semi-abelian categories relative to a Birkhoff subcategory, we study central extensions of Leibniz algebras with respect to the Birkhoff subcategory of Lie algebras, called Lie-central extensions. We obtain a six-term exact homology sequence associated to a Lie-central extension. This sequence, together with the relative commutators, allows us to characterize several classes of Lie-central extensions, such as Lie-trivial, Lie-stem and Lie-stem cover, to introduce and characterize Lie-unicentra…
Leibniz algebras are a non-anticommutative version of Lie algebras. They play an important role in different areas of mathematics and physics and have attracted much attention over the last thirty years. In this paper we investigate whether conditions such as being a Lie algebra, cyclic, simple, semisimple, solvable, supersolvable or nilpotent in such an algebra are preserved by lattice isomorphisms.
In this paper we identify the structure of complex finite-dimensional Leibniz algebras with associated Lie algebras $sl_2^1\oplus sl_2^2\oplus \dots \oplus sl_2^s\oplus R,$ where $R$ is a solvable radical. The classifications of such Leibniz algebras in the cases $dim R=2, 3$ and $dim I\neq 3$ have been obtained. Moreover, we classify Leibniz algebras with $L/I\cong sl_2^1\oplus sl_2^2$ and some conditions on ideal $I=id<[x,x] \ | \ x\in L>.$
From the Levi's Theorem it is known that every finite dimensional Lie algebra over a field of characteristic zero is decomposed into semidirect sum of solvable radical and semisimple subalgebra. Moreover, semisimple part is the direct sum of simple ideals. In \cite{Bar} the Levi's theorem is extended to the case of Leibniz algebras. In the present paper we investigate the semisimple Leibniz algebras and we show that the splitting theorem for semisimple Leibniz algebras is not true. Moreover, we consider some special classes of the semisimple Leibniz algebras and find a condition under which th…
A subalgebra $B$ of a Leibniz algebra $L$ is called a weak c-ideal of $L$ if there is a subideal $C$ of $L$ such that $L=B+C$ and $B\cap C\subseteq B_{L}$ where $B_{L}$ is the largest ideal of $L$ contained in $B.$ This is analogous to the concept of a weakly c-normal subgroup, which has been studied by a number of authors. We obtain some properties of weak c-ideals and use them to give some characterisations of solvable and supersolvable Leibniz algebras generalising previous results for Lie algebras. We note that one-dimensional weak c-ideals are c-ideals, and show that a result of Turner cl…
Let $L_n$ be the free metabelian Leibniz algebra generated by the set $X_n=\{x_1,\ldots,x_n\}$ over a field $K$ of characteristic zero. This is the free algebra of rank $n$ in the variety of solvable of class $2$ Leibniz algebras. We call an element $s(X_n)\in L_n$ symmetric if $s(x_{σ(1)},\ldots,x_{σ(n)})=s(x_1,\ldots,x_n)$ for each permutation $σ$ of $\{1,\ldots,n\}$. The set $L_n^{S_n}$ of symmetric polynomials of $L_n$ is the algebra of invariants of the symmetric group $S_n$. Let $K[X_n]$ be the usual polynomial algebra with indeterminates from $X_n$. The description of the algebra $K[X_n…
The paper is devoted to the study of pro-solvable Lie algebras whose maximal pro-nilpotent ideal is either $\mathfrak{m}_0$ or $\mathfrak{m}_2$. Namely, we describe such Lie algebras and establish their completeness. Triviality of the second cohomology group for one of the obtained algebra is established.
