We give a normal form for pseudo-Einstein contact forms and apply it to construct intrinsic CR normal coordinates parametrized by the structure group of CR geometry. The proof is based on the construction of parabolic normal coordinates by Jerison and Lee.
A pseudo-Einstein contact form plays a crucial role in defining some global invariants of closed strictly pseudoconvex CR manifolds. In this paper, we prove that the existence of a pseudo-Einstein contact form is preserved under deformations as a real hypersurface in a fixed complex manifold of complex dimension at least three.
This paper constructs a family of coordinate systems about a point on a quaternionic contact manifold, called quaternionic contact pseudohermitian normal coordinates. Once defined, conformal variations of the quaternionic contact structure induce changes on the coordinates which are studied in an effort to simplify the torsion and curvature at the center point.
In this paper, we aim to introduce and study $(κ, μ)$-contact pseudo-metric manifold and prove that if the $φ$-sectional curvature of any point of $M$ is independent of the choice of $φ$-section at the point, then it is constant on $M$ and accordingly the curvature tensor. Also, we introduce generalized $(κ, μ)$-contact pseudo-metric manifold and prove for $n>1$, that a non-Sasakian generalized $(κ, μ)$-contact pseudo-metric manifold is a $(κ, μ)$-contact pseudo-metric manifold.
We study isometries in the contact sub-pseudo-Riemannian geometry. In particular we give an upper bound on the dimension of the isometry group of a general sub-pseudo-Riemannian manifold and prove that the maximal dimension is attained for the left invariant structures on the Heisenberg group.
We consider local geometry of sub-pseudo-Riemannian structures on contact manifolds. We construct fundamental invariants of the structures and show that the structures give rise to Einstein-Weyl geometries in dimension 3, provided that certain additional conditions are satisfied.
In this paper, we prove that a Sasakian pseudo-metric manifold which admits an $η-$Ricci soliton is an $η-$Einstein manifold, and if the potential vector field of the $η-$Ricci soliton is not a Killing vector field then the manifold is $\mathcal{D}-$homothetically fixed, and the vector field leaves the structure tensor field invariant. Next, we prove that a $K-$contact pseudo-metric manifold with a gradient $η-$Ricci soliton metric is $η-$Einstein. Moreover, we study contact pseudo-metric manifolds admitting an $η-$Ricci soliton with a potential vector field point-wise colinear with the Reeb v…
We study the geometry of almost contact pseudo-metric manifolds in terms of tensor fields $h:=\frac{1}{2}£_ξφ$ and $\ell := R(\cdot,ξ)ξ$, emphasizing analogies and differences with respect to the contact metric case. Certain identities involving $ξ$-sectional curvatures are obtained. We establish necessary and sufficient condition for a nondegenerate almost $CR$ structure $(\mathcal{H}(M), J, θ)$ corresponding to almost contact pseudo-metric manifold $M$ to be $CR$ manifold. Finally, we prove that a contact pseudo-metric manifold $(M,φ,ξ,η,g)$ is Sasakian if and only if the corresponding nonde…
The present paper deals with the study of pseudo parallel (in the sense of Chaki and in the sense of Deszcz) contact CR-submanifolds with respect to Levi-Civita connection as well as semisymmetric metric connection of Kenmotsu manifolds and prove that these corresponding two classes are equivalent with a certain condition.
We study the question of the existence of left-invariant Sasaki contact structures on the seven-dimensional nilpotent Lie groups. It is shown that the only Lie group allowing Sasaki structure with a positive definite metric tensor is the Heisenberg group. We find a complete list of the 22 classes of seven-dimensional nilpotent Lie groups which admit pseudo-Sasaki structure. We also present a list of 25 classes of seven-dimensional nilpotent Lie groups admitting a $K$-contact structure, but not the pseudo-Sasaki structure. All the contact structures considered are central extensions of six-dime…

There are considered 4-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian spaces with inner products of signature (3,1) and (2,2). The objects of investigation are space-like and time-like hyperspheres in the respective cases. These hypersurfaces are equipped with almost contact B-metric structures. The constructed manifolds are characterized geometrically.
Let $\CV$ be a vector field distribution on manifold $M$. We give an efficient algorithm for the construction of local coordinates on $M$ such that $\CV$ may be locally expressed as some partial prolongation of the contact distribution $\Cal C^{(1)}_q$, on the first order jet bundle of maps from $\Bbb R$ to $\Bbb R^q$, $q\geq 1$. It is proven that if $\CV$ is locally equivalent to a partial prolongation of $\Cal C^{(1)}_q$ then the explicit construction of contact coordinates algorithmically depends upon the determination of certain first integrals in a sequence of geometrically defined and al…
We apply the technique of integrable extensions to the symmetry pseudo-group of the r-th mdKP equation. This gives another look on deriving known coverings and allows us to find new coverings for this equation.
In this note, we mainly focus on the existence of pseudo-Einstein contact forms, an upper bound eigenvalue estimate for the CR Paneitz operator and its applications to the uniformization theorem for Sasakian space form in an embeddable closed strictly pseudoconvex CR 3-manifold. Firstly, the existence of pseudo-Einstein contact form is confirmed if the CR 3-manifold is Sasakian. Secondly, we derive an eigenvalue upper bound estimate for the CR Paneitz operator and obtain the CR uniformization theorem for a class of CR 3-manifolds. At the end, under the positivity assumption of the pseudohermit…
The $Q$-prime curvature is a local invariant of pseudo-Einstein contact forms on integrable strictly pseudoconvex CR manifolds. The transformation law of the $Q$-prime curvature under scaling is given in terms of a differential operator, called the $P$-prime operator, acting on the space of CR pluriharmonic functions. In this paper, we generalize these objects to the boundaries of asymptotically complex hyperbolic Einstein (ACHE) manifolds, which are partially integrable, strictly pseudoconvex CR manifolds, by using the scattering matrix for ACHE manifolds. In this setting, the $P$-prime opera…
We establish an algorithm which computes formulae for the CR GJMS operators, the $P^\prime$-operator, and the $Q^\prime$-curvature in terms of CR tractors. When applied to torsion-free pseudo-Einstein contact forms, this algorithm both gives an explicit factorisation of the CR GJMS operators and the $P^\prime$-operator, and shows that the $Q^\prime$-curvature is constant, with the constant explicitly given in terms of the Webster scalar curvature. We also use our algorithm to derive local formulae for the $P^\prime$-operator and $Q^\prime$-curvature of a five-dimensional pseudo-Einstein manifo…
In this paper we give a survey of the constructions in math.DG/0510061 of several new invariants for CR and contact manifolds. The latter extend previous constructions of Hirachi and Boutet de Monvel. In addition, we give simple algebro-geometric arguments proving that Hirachi's invariant vanishes on strictly pseudoconvex CR manifolds of dimension 4m+1.
We construct contact forms with constant $Q^\prime$-curvature on compact three-dimensional CR manifolds which admit a pseudo-Einstein contact form and satisfy some natural positivity conditions. These contact forms are obtained by minimizing the CR analogue of the $II$-functional from conformal geometry. Two crucial steps are to show that the $P^\prime$-operator can be regarded as an elliptic pseudodifferential operator and to compute the leading order terms of the asymptotic expansion of the Green's function for $\sqrt{P^\prime}$.
Given a manifold $M$ endowed with a contact 1-form $α$, a bi-invariant pseudo-metric $\varrho_α$ is introduced on $Cont(M,α)$, the compactly supported identity component of the group of all strict contactomorphisms of $(M,α)$. For $M$ open $\varrho_α$ is a metric.

We provide a coordinate-free version of the local classification, due to A. G. Walker [Quart. J. Math. Oxford (2) 1, 69 (1950)], of null parallel distributions on pseudo-Riemannian manifolds. The underlying manifold is realized, locally, as the total space of a fibre bundle, each fibre of which is an affine principal bundle over a pseudo-Riemannian manifold. All structures just named are naturally determined by the distribution and the metric, in contrast with the non-canonical choice of coordinates in the usual formulation of Walker's theorem.
We determine parts of the contact homology of certain contact 3-manifolds in the framework of open book decompositions, due to Giroux. We study two cases: when the monodromy map of the compatible open book is periodic and when it is pseudo-Anosov. For an open book with periodic monodromy, we verify the Weinstein conjecture. In the case of an open book with pseudo-Anosov monodromy, suppose the boundary of a page of the open book is connected and the fractional Dehn twist coefficient $c={k\over n}$, where $n$ is the number of prongs along the boundary. If $k\geq 2$, then there is a well-defined …
We give a simple model in the complex plane of the 0-surgery along a fibered knot of a closed 3-manifold M to yield a mapping torus M'. This model allows explicit relations between pseudoholomorphic curves in the symplectizations of M and M'. As an application we use it to compute the cylindrical contact homology of open books resulting from a positive Dehn twist on a torus with boundary.
It is well-known that the Einstein condition on warpedgeometries requires the fibres to be necessarily Einstein. However, exact warped solutions have often been obtained using one- and two-dimensional bases. In this paper, keeping the dimensions and signatures of the base and the fibre independently arbitrary, we obtain all Ricci-flat warped metrics with flat base in closed form and show that the number of free parameters is one less than the dimension of the base. Without any assumptions on the base and fibre geometry, we then show that a warped geometry is flat, i.e, has vanishing Riemann cu…
