Let $V$ be a simple vertex operator superalgebra and $G$ a finite automorphism group of $V$ containing the canonical automorphism $σ$ such that $V^G$ is regular. It is proved that every irreducible $V^G$-module occurs in an irreducible $g$-twisted $V$-module for some $g\in G$ and the irreducible $V^G$-modules are classified. Moreover, the quantum dimensions of irreducible $V^G$-modules are determined, a global dimension formula for $V$ in terms of twisted modules is obtained and a super quantum Galois theory is established. In addition, the $S$-matrix of $V^G$ is computed
We classify, up to conjugation, all automorphisms of Niemeier lattices to which we can apply Miyamoto's orbifold construction. Using this classification, we prove that the VOAs obtained in [M] and [SS] are all of holomorphic non-lattice VOAs which we can obtain by applying the $\mathbb{Z}_3$-orbifold construction to a Niemeier lattice and its automorphism.
We determine the automorphism groups of the cyclic orbifold vertex operator algebras associated with coinvariant lattices of isometries of the Leech lattice in the conjugacy classes $4C,6E,6G,8E$ and $10F$. As a consequence, we have determined the automorphism groups of all the $10$ vertex operator algebras in [Hö], which are useful to analyze holomorphic vertex operator algebras of central charge $24$.
Let $L$ be an even positive definite lattice with no roots, i.e., $L(2)=\{x\in L\mid (x|x)=2\}=\emptyset$. Let $g\in O(L)$ be an isometry of order $4$ such that $g^2=-1$ on $L$. In this article, we determine the full automorphism group of the orbifold vertex operator algebra $V_L^{\hat{g}}$. As our main result, we show that $Aut(V_L^{\hat{g}})$ is isomorphic to $N_{Aut(V_L)}(\langle \hat{g}\rangle)/ \langle\hat{g}\rangle $ unless $L\cong \sqrt{2}E_8$ or $BW_{16}$.
In this article, we construct three new holomorphic vertex operator algebras of central charge $24$ using the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-orbifold construction associated to inner automorphisms. Their weight one subspaces has the Lie algebra structures $D_{7,3}A_{3,1}G_{2,1}$, $E_{7,3}A_{5,1}$, and $A_{8,3}A_{2,1}^2$. In addition, we discuss the constructions of holomorphic vertex operator algebras with Lie algebras $A_{5,6}C_{2,3}A_{1,2}$ and $D_{6,5}A_{1,1}^2$ from holomorphic vertex operator algebras with Lie algebras $C_{5,3}G_{2,2}A_{1,1}$ and $A_{4,5}^2$, respectively.
Every isometry $σ$ of a positive-definite even lattice $Q$ can be lifted to an automorphism of the lattice vertex algebra $V_Q$. An important problem in vertex algebra theory and conformal field theory is to classify the representations of the $σ$-invariant subalgebra $V_Q^σ$ of $V_Q$, known as an orbifold. In the case when $σ$ is an isometry of $Q$ of order two, we classify the irreducible modules of the orbifold vertex algebra $V_Q^σ$ and identify them as submodules of twisted or untwisted $V_Q$-modules. The examples where $Q$ is a root lattice and $σ$ is a Dynkin diagram automorphism are pr…
We prove that if $V$ is a $C_2$-cofinite simple vertex operator algebra of CFT-type with a nonsingular invariant bilinear form and its an automorphism group $G$ is finite, then an orbifold model $V^G$ is also $C_2$-cofinite.
Let $V$ be a vertex operator algebra, $k$ a positive integer and $σ$ a permutation automorphism of the vertex operator algebra $V^{\otimes k}$. In this paper, we determine the fusion product of any $V^{\otimes k}$-module with any $σ$-twisted $V^{\otimes k}$-module.
In this article, we describe some maximal $3$-local subgroups of the Monster simple group using vertex operator algebras (VOA). We first study the holomorphic vertex operator algebra obtained by applying the orbifold construction to the Leech lattice vertex operator algebra and a lift of a fixed-point free isometry of order $3$ of the Leech lattice. We also consider some of its special subVOAs and study their stabilizer subgroups using the symmetries of the subVOAs. It turns out that these stabilizer subgroups are $3$-local subgroups of its full automorphism group. As one of our main results, …
Let $V$ be a vertex operator algebra and $g=\left(1\ 2\ \cdots k\right)$ be a $k$-cycle which is viewed as an automorphism of the vertex operator algebra $V^{\otimes k}$. It is proved that Dong-Li-Mason's associated associative algebra $A_{g}\left(V^{\otimes k}\right)$ is isomorphic to Zhu's algebra $A\left(V\right)$ explicitly. This result recovers a previous result that there is a one-to-one correspondence between irreducible $g$-twisted $V^{\otimes k}$-modules and irreducible $V$-modules.
Let $p$ be an odd prime and let $\widehatσ$ be an order $p$ automorphism of $V_{\sqrt{2}A_{p-1}}$ which is a lift of a $p$-cycle in the Weyl group ${\rm Weyl}(A_{p-1})\cong {\mathfrak S}_p$. We study a certain extension $V$ of a tensor product of finitely many copies of the orbifold model $V_{\sqrt{2}A_{p-1}}^{\langle \widehatσ \rangle}$ and give a criterion for $V$ that every irreducible $V$-module is a simple current.
Let $V$ be a simple VOA of CFT-type satisfying $V'\cong V$ and $σ$ a finite automorphism of $V$. We prove that if all $V$-modules are completely reducible and a fixed point subVOA $V^σ$ is $C_2$-cofinite, then all $V^σ$-modules are completely reducible and every simple $V^σ$-module appears in some twisted or ordinary $V$-modules as a $V^σ$-submodule. We also prove that $V_L^σ$ is $C_2$-cofinite for any lattice VOA $V_L$ and $σ\in \Aut(V_L)$ lifted from any triality automorphism of $L$. Using these results, we present two $Z_3$-orbifold constructions as examples. One is the moonshine VOA $V^{\n…
Let $V$ be a rational, selfdual, $C_2$-cofinite vertex operator algebra of CFT type, and $G$ a finite automorphism group of $V.$ It is proved that the kernel of the representation of the modular group on twisted conformal blocks associated to $V$ and $G$ is a congruence subgroup. In particular, the $q$-character of each irreducible twisted module is a modular function on the same congruence subgroup. In the case $V$ is the Frenkel-Lepowsky-Meurman's moonshine vertex operator algebra and $G$ is the monster simple group, the generalized McKay-Thompson series associated to any commuting pair in t…
In this article, we determine quantum dimensions and fusion rules for the orbifold code VOA $ V^τ_{L_{C \times D}}$. As an application, we also construct certain $3$-local subgroups inside the automorphism group of the VOA $V^\sharp$, where $V^\sharp$ is a holomorphic VOA obtained by the $\mathbb{Z}_3$-orbifold construction on the Leech lattice VOA.
We construct orbifolds of holomorphic lattice Vertex Operator Algebras for non-Abelian finite automorphism groups $G$. To this end, we construct twisted modules for automorphisms $g$ together with the projective representation of the centralizer of $g$ on the twisted module. This allows us to extract the irreducible modules of the fixed point VOA $V^G$, and to compute their characters and modular transformation properties. We then construct holomorphic VOAs by adjoining such modules to $V^G$. Applying these methods to extremal lattices in $d=48$ and $d=72$, we construct more than fifty new hol…
Let V be a simple vertex operator algebra and G a finite automorphism group of V such that V^G is regular. It is proved that every irreducible V^G-module occurs in an irreducible g-twisted V-module for some g in G. Moreover, the quantum dimensions of each irreducible V^G-module are determined and a global dimension formula for V in terms of twisted modules is obtained.
We present a systematic study of the orbifolds of the rank $n$ symplectic fermion algebra $\mathcal{A}(n)$, which has full automorphism group $Sp(2n)$. First, we show that $\mathcal{A}(n)^{Sp(2n)}$ and $\mathcal{A}(n)^{GL(n)}$ are $\mathcal{W}$-algebras of type $\mathcal{W}(2,4,\dots, 2n)$ and $\mathcal{W}(2,3,\dots, 2n+1)$, respectively. Using these results, we find minimal strong finite generating sets for $\mathcal{A}(mn)^{Sp(2n)}$ and $\mathcal{A}(mn)^{GL(n)}$ for all $m,n\geq 1$. We compute the characters of the irreducible representations of $\mathcal{A}(mn)^{Sp(2n)\times SO(m)}$ and $\m…

G,\in G $ there is unique simple $ g $-twisted $ V $-module $ M(g). $ Then there exists a Hochschild 3-cocycle $ α $ on the integral group $ Z[G] $ such that there is an equivalence of categories between $ V^G $-module category (whose objects are $ V^G $-submodules of direct sums of copies of $ \oplus_{g\in G} M(g),$ and whose morphisms are $ V^G $-module homomorphisms) and the module category for the twisted quantum double $ D_α(G)$ associated to $ α.$
We extend the Dong-Mason theorem on the irreducibility of modules for orbifold vertex algebras from [C. Dong, G. Mason, Duke Math. J. 86 (1997)] 305-321] for the category of weak modules. Let $V$ be a vertex operator algebra, $g$ an automorphism of order $p$. Let $W$ be an irreducible weak $V$--module such that $W,W\circ g,\dots,W\circ g^{p-1}$ are inequivalent irreducible modules. We prove that $W$ is an irreducible weak $V^{\left\langle g\right\rangle }$-module. This result can be applied on irreducible modules of certain Lie algebra $\mathfrak L$ such that $W,W\circ g,\dots,W\circ g^{p-1}$ …
Let $Z \subset \mathbb{A}^k$ be an affine scheme over $\C$ and $\J Z$ its jet scheme. It is well-known that $\mathbb{C}[\J Z]$, the coordinate ring of $\J Z$, has the structure of a commutative vertex algebra. This paper develops the orbifold theory for $\mathbb{C}[\J Z]$. A finite-order linear automorphism $g$ of $Z$ acts by vertex algebra automorphisms on $\mathbb{C}[\J Z]$. We show that $\mathbb{C}[\J^g Z]$, where $\J^g Z$ is the scheme of $g$--twisted jets has the structure of a $g$-twisted $\mathbb{C}[\J Z]$ module. We consider spaces of orbifold coinvariants valued in the modules $\mathb…
Every isometry s of a positive-definite even lattice Q can be lifted to an automorphism of the lattice vertex algebra V_Q. An important problem in vertex algebra theory and conformal field theory is to classify the representations of the s-invariant subalgebra V_Q^s of V_Q, known as an orbifold. In the case when s is an isometry of Q of order two, we have classified the irreducible modules of the orbifold vertex algebra V_Q^s and identified them as submodules of twisted or untwisted V_Q-modules in [Bavalov-Elsinger]. Here we calculate their quantum dimensions and fusion products. The examples …
