In light of very recent E989 experimental result, we investigate the possibility that heavy sparticles explain the muon g-2 anomaly. We focus on the bino-smuon loop in an effective SUSY scenario, where a light gravitino plays the role of dark matter and other sparticles are heavy. Due to the enhancement of left-right mixing of smuons by heavy higgsinos, the contribution of bino-smuon loop can sizably increase the prediction of muon g-2 to the experimental value. Under collider and vacuum stability constraints, we find that TeV scale bino and smuon can still account for the new muon g-2 anomaly. The implications for LHC phenomenology are also discussed.
Signatures for sleptons, which have been extensively studied for the Next Linear Collider, are reexamined taking into account some of the different features of a First Muon Collider.
We consider a scenario where light bino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) and gravitino/axino is the lightest superysmmetric particle (LSP). For a bino mass less than or around hundred GeV, it can be pair produced at the future lepton colliders through $t-$channel slepton exchange, subsequently decaying into a gravitino/axino plus a photon. We study the prospects to look for such binos at the future colliders and find that a bino mass around 100 GeV can be probed at the $2σ$ ($5σ$) level for a slepton below 2 TeV (1.5 TeV) with a luminosity 3 $ab^{-1}$. For a bino mass aro…
Supersymmetric theories generally have new flavor and CP violation sources in the squark and slepton mass matrices. They will contribute to the lepton flavor violation processes, such as $μ\to e γ$, which can be probed far below the current bound with an intense muon source at the front end of the muon collider. In addition, if sleptons can be produced at the muon collider, the flavor violation can occur at their production and decay, allowing us to probe the flavor mixing structure directly. Asymmetry between numbers of $μ^+ e^-$ and $e^+ μ^-$ events will be a sign for CP violation in supersy…
We study SUSY models in which Bino contributions solve the muon g-2 anomaly. The contributions are enhanced by large left-right mixing of the smuons. However, it is constrained by the vacuum stability condition of the slepton--Higgs potential. Therefore, there are upper bounds on masses of sleptons and Bino. When the slepton soft masses are universal, the upper bound on the smuon mass becomes 330 (460)GeV in order to solve the g-2 anomaly at the 1 sigma (2 sigma) level. It is within the reach of LHC and ILC. If the stau is heavier than the smuon, the bound can be as large as 1.4 (1.9)TeV. Such…
We discuss in detail signals for CP violation in the Higgs boson and tau-slepton sectors through the production processes $μ^+μ^- \to \tildeτ_i^- \tildeτ_j^+$, where $i,j=1,2$ label the two $τ$ slepton mass eigenstates in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. We assume that the soft breaking parameters of third generation sfermions contain CP violating phases, which induce CP violation in the Higgs sector through quantum corrections. We classify all the observables for probing CP violation in the Higgs boson and $τ$ slepton sectors. These observables depend on the initial muon beam polari…
Pair production of light top squarks at the 8-TeV LHC can be used to probe the gaugino-Higgsino sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. The case where the lightest neutralino is a mixture of Bino and Higgsino, satisfying the thermal dark matter relic density, is investigated. In such a scenario, the lightest top squark decays mostly into $(i)$ a top quark plus the second or third lightest neutralino, and $(ii)$ a bottom quark plus the lightest chargino, instead of a decay scenario of the lightest top squark into a top quark and the lightest neutralino. Final states with $\geq 2$ j…
Extensions of the MSSM could significantly alter its phenomenology at the LHC. We study the case in which the MSSM is extended by an additional U(1) gauge symmetry, which is spontaneously broken at a few TeV. The production cross-section of sleptons is enhanced over that of the MSSM by the process $pp\to Z' \to \tilde{\ell} \tilde{\ell}^*$, so the discovery potential for sleptons is greatly increased. The flavor and charge information in the resulting decay, $\tilde{\ell} \to \ell + {LSP}$, provides a useful handle on the identity of the LSP. With the help of the additional kinematical constra…
Muon g-2 anomaly, which is mismatch between the theoretical and the experimental values of the anomalous magnetic moment of muons, provides a sensitive probe of new physics. In SUSY, if masses of the superpartners relevant to the muon g-2 are O(100) GeV, the SUSY contributions to the muon g-2 become sizable and the anomaly can be solved. There are two representative SUSY contributions to the muon g-2, the chargino and the neutralino contributions, respectively. Particularly, when the discrepancy of the muon g-2 is dominated by the neutralino contributions, it is found that the discrepancy can …
We consider a Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model scenario in which the only light superparticles are a bino-like dark matter candidate and a nearly-degenerate slepton. It is notoriously difficult to probe this scenario at the Large Hadron Collider, because the slepton pair-production process yields a final state with soft leptons and small missing transverse energy. We study this scenario in the region of parameter space where the mass difference between the lightest neutralino and the lightest slepton ($Δm$) is $\lesssim 60~{\rm GeV}$, focusing on the process in which an additional radiate…
Detectors at a high-energy muon collider must be protected from the decay products of beam muons by installing shielding material around the beam pipe. In this article, the impact of these blind detector regions on new-physics signatures with invisible final-state particles is shown by studying the production of sleptons, the superpartners of leptons. Special attention is given to large backgrounds from two-photon collisions. It is demonstrated how the influence of these backgrounds can be controlled by implementing suitable cuts or running at two different center-of-mass energies, thus permit…
We analyze the electric dipole moment of the electron ($d_e$), of the neutron ($d_n$) and of the muon ($d_μ$) using the cancellation mechanism in the presence of nonuniversalities of the soft breaking parameters. It is shown that the nonuniversalities in the slepton sector produce a strong violation of the scaling relation $d_μ/d_e\simeq m_μ/m_e$ in the cancellation region. An analysis of $d_e, d_n$ and $d_μ$ under the constraints of the current experimental limits on $d_e$ and $d_n$ and under the constraints of the recent Brookhaven result on $g_μ-2$ shows that in the non-scaling region $d_μ$…
Three case studies are presented of slepton pair production followed by two-body or quasi-two-body decays at a muon collider. Precision mass measurements are possible using a variety of kinematic fitting methods. Standard Model and supersymmetric backgrounds are easily controlled by kinematic cuts. In all three cases it appears that detector resolutions, not backgrounds or statistics, will dominate the final error bars. Polarized beams are not necessary to control SM backgrounds. However, without polarization it may be difficult in some cases to disentangle slepton_right from slepton_left sign…
We present a supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model in which the new physics contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon can be more than an order of magnitude larger than in the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model. The extended electroweak symmetry breaking sector of the model can consistently accommodate Higgs bosons and Higgsinos with $O(1)$ couplings to muons. We find that sleptons with masses in the multi-TeV range can comfortably explain the recently confirmed discrepancy in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. We discuss additional phenomenological aspects…
In the framework of gauge mediation models, we investigate scenarios with heavy squarks and light sleptons, motivated by the recent discovery of the Higgs boson and the deviation of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2) from the SM prediction. We show that only models with a messenger multiplet in the adjoint representation of SU(5) GUT gauge group are the unique possibility that sleptons are light enough to explain the muon g-2 in the minimal setup. We also show that, if there is an additional source of the Higgs soft masses, the muon g-2 can be explained with messenger multiples in the fu…
A muon collider would be a powerful probe of flavor violation in new physics. There is a strong complementary case for collider measurements and precision low-energy probes of lepton flavor violation (as well as CP violation). We illustrate this by studying the collider reach in a supersymmetric scenario with flavor-violating slepton mixing. We find that the collider could discover sleptons and measure the slepton and neutralino masses with high precision, enabling event reconstruction that could cleanly separate flavor-violating new physics signals from Standard Model backgrounds. The discove…
Inspired by the latest measurement of muon g-2 by the Fermilab Experiment, we revisit a class of supersymmetric models in which non-universality at M_GUT allows us to realize relatively light sleptons in the few hundred GeV range. These sleptons provide additional contributions to muon g-2 that can be arranged to reconcile theory and experiment. The solutions compatible with the muon g-2 resolution typically predict light sleptons, charginos and neutralinos. We show how these solutions can be probed during LHC-Run3. A direct impact on the chargino mass is observed such that the chargino can be…
We study the muon $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly in light of neutralino dark matter and the LHC. We scan the MSSM parameters relevant to $(g-2)_μ$ and focus on three distinct cases with different neutralino compositions. We find that the 2$σ$ range of $(g-2)_μ$ requires the smuon ($\tildeμ_1$) to be lighter than $\sim$ 500 (1000) GeV for $\tan β=10\,(50)$. Correspondingly the two lightest neutralinos, $\tildeχ_{1}^0, \tildeχ_{2}^0$, have to be lighter than $\sim$ 300 (650) GeV and 900 (1000) GeV respectively. We explore the prospects of searching the light smuon and neutralinos at the LHC, in conjunction w…
We study the possibility that the lepton-flavor changing process can induce the suitable magnitude of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g_μ-2) in the decoupling solution to the flavor problem in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. Our analyses introduce the flavor mixings of left- and right-handed stau and smuon phenomenologically. It is found that if both the left- and right-handed sleptons have sizable flavor mixings, the correction to g_μ-2 from the lighter slepton can reach to 10^{-9} while the correction to the branching ratio of τ\to μγsatisfies the current experimental bound. O…
We study a GUT-inspired supersymmetric model with non-universal gaugino masses that can explain the observed muon g-2 anomaly while simultaneously accommodating an enhancement or suppression in the h \rightarrowγγdecay channel. In order to accommodate these observations and m_h \simeq 125-126 GeV, the model requires a spectrum consisting of relatively light sleptons whereas the colored sparticles are heavy. The predicted stau mass range corresponding to R_{γγ}\ge 1.1 is 100 {\rm \ GeV} \lesssim m_{\tildeτ} \lesssim 200 {\rm \ GeV}. The constraint on the slepton masses, particularly on the smuo…
We investigate the muon anomalous magnetic moment in the context of the supersymmetric version of the economical 3-3-1 model. We compute the 1-loop contribution of super-partner particles. We show that contribution of superparticle loop becomes significant when \tan γis large. We investigate for both small and large values of $\tan γ$. We find the region of the parameter space where the slepton masses are of a few hundreds GeV is favour by the muon g-2 for small \tan γ(\tan γ\sim 5 ). Numerical estimation gives the mass of supersymmetric particle, the mass of gauginos m_G \sim 700 GeV and ligh…
We performed an analysis on the detection of a long lived stau at a linear collider with $\sqrt{s}=500$ GeV. In GMSB models a long lived NLSP is predicted for large value of the supersymmetry breaking scale F. Furthermore in a large portion of the parameter space this particle is a stau. Such heavy charged particles will leave a track in the tracking volume and hit the muon detector. In order to disentangle this signal from the muon background we explore kinematics and particle identification tools: time of flight device, dE/dX and Cerenkov devices.
If produced at the LHC, long-lived charged particles (LLCPs) would leave tracks in the muon detector. Time-of-Flight based methods for detecting these particles become less efficient if the LLCPs are fast, which would typically be the case if they are produced in the decays of some mother particle which is either heavy or very boosted. Thus for example, in supersymmetric models with long-lived sleptons, the long-lived sleptons produced in neutralino decays are often fast, with beta above 0.95 even at a 7 TeV LHC. We propose to use the (mis-measured) invariant mass distribution of "muon"-lepton…
We explored the sparticle mass spectrum in light of the muon g-2 anomaly and the little hierarchy problem in a class of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking model. Here the messenger fields transform in the adjoint representation of the Standard Model gauge symmetry. To avoid unacceptably light right-handed slepton masses the standard model is supplemented by additional U(1)_B-L gauge symmetry. Considering a non-zero U(1)_B-L D-term leads to an additional contribution to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms which makes the right-handed slepton masses compatible with the current experime…
The new measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of muon at the Fermilab Muon $g-2$ experiment has strengthened the significance of the discrepancy between the standard model prediction and the experimental observation from the BNL measurement. If new physics responsible for the muon $g-2$ anomaly is supersymmetric, one should consider how to obtain light electroweakinos and sleptons in a systematic way. The gauge coupling unification allows a robust prediction of the gaugino masses, indicating that the electroweakinos can be much lighter than the gluino if anomaly-mediated supersymmetry b…
We update the electroweak study of the predictions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) including the recent results on the muon anomalous magnetic moment, the weak boson masses, and the final precision data on the Z boson parameters from LEP and SLC. We find that the region of the parameter space where the slepton masses are a few hundred GeV is favored from the muon g-2 for \tanβ\ltsim 10, whereas for \tanβ\simeq 50 heavier slepton mass up to \sim 1000 GeV can account for the reported 3.2 σdifference between its experimental value and the Standard Model (SM) prediction. As for…
In view of the recent measurement of the muon g-2 and finalization of the LEP electroweak data, we re-examine all the new particle contributions to those observables in the MSSM. The SM fits the latest electroweak data excellently with the observed top-quark mass and the Higgs-boson mass of around 100 GeV, and so does the MSSM in the decoupling limit. The MSSM gives a slightly better fit to the data than the SM (Δχ^2_{min} \sim -2) when relatively light left-handed sleptons of mass \sim 200 GeV and a light chargino of mixed higgsino-wino character (μ/M_2 \sim 1) with mass \sim 100 GeV co-exist…
Non-universal gaugino mass models can naturally account for the dark matter relic density via the bulk annihilation process with relatively light bino LSP and right sleptons in the mass range of ~ 100 GeV, while accommodating the observed Higgs boson mass of ~ 125 GeV with TeV scale squark/gluino masses. A class of these models can also account for the observed muon g-2 anomaly via SUSY loops with wino and left sleptons in the mass range of 400 -- 700 GeV. These models can be tested at LHC via electroweak production of charged and neutral wino pair, leading to robust trilepton and same sign di…
We explore the implications of resolving the muon g-2 anomaly in a SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R model, where the soft supersymmetry breaking scalar and gaugino masses break the left-right (LR) symmetry. A 2 sigma resolution of the anomaly requires relatively light sleptons, chargino and LSP neutralino. The stau turns out to be the NLSP of mass <~ 400 GeV, and the sleptons from the first two families can be as heavy as about 800 GeV. The chargino is also required to be lighter than about 600 GeV to accommodate the muon g-2 solutions consistent with the dark matter relic density constraint. The d…
We give a thorough analysis of the correlation between the muon anomalous magnetic moment and the radiative lepton flavor violating (LFV) processes within the minimal supersymmetric standard model. We find that in the case when the slepton mass eigenstates are nearly degenerate, $δa_μ$, coming from SUSY contributions, hardly depends on the lepton flavor mixing and, thus, there is no direct relation between $δa_μ$ and the LFV processes. On the contrary, if the first two generations' sleptons are much heavier than the 3rd one, i.e., in the effective SUSY scenario, the two quantities are closely …
The recent Fermilab muon $g-2$ result and the same for electron due to fine-structure constant measurement through ${}^{133}{\rm Cs}$ matter-wave interferometry are probed in relation to MSSM with non-holomorphic (NH) trilinear soft SUSY breaking terms, referred as NHSSM. Supersymmetric contributions to charged lepton $(g-2)_l$ can be enhanced via the new trilinear terms involving a wrong Higgs coupling with left and right-handed scalars. Unlike many MSSM based analyses, the model does not require a light electroweakino, or light sleptons, or unequal left and right slepton masses, or a very la…
We propose a SUSY scenario to explain the current electron and muon $g-2$ discrepancies without introducing lepton flavor mixings. Threshold corrections to the Yukawa couplings can enhance the electron $g-2$ and flip the sign of the SUSY contributions. The mechanism predicts a flavor-dependent slepton mass spectrum. We show that it is compatible with the Higgs mediation scenario.
We studied allowed region on the intergenerational mixing parameters of sleptons from a viewpoint of big-bang nucleosynthesis in a slepton-neutralino coannihilation scenario. In this scenario, $^7$Li and $^6$Li problems can be solved by considering exotic reactions caused by bound-state effects with a long-lived slepton. Light element abundances are calculated as functions of the relic density and lifetime of the slepton which considerably depend on the intergenerational mixing parameters. Compared with observational light element abundances, we obtain allowed regions on the intergenerational …
Given that the LHC experiment has produced strong constraints on the colored supersymmetric particles (sparticles), testing the electroweak supersymmetry (EWSUSY) will be the next crucial task at the LHC. On the other hand, the light electroweakinos and sleptons in the EWSUSY can also contribute to the dark matter (DM) and low energy lepton observables. The precision measurements of them will provide the indirect evidence of SUSY. In this work, we confront the EWSUSY with the muon $g-2$ anomaly, the DM relic density, the direct detection limits and the latest LHC Run-2 data. We find that the s…
We investigate the possibility that both dark matter and the long-standing discrepancy in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon may be explained within the MSSM. In light of the stringent bounds from direct detection, we argue that the most promising viable scenarios have bino-like dark matter produced via either bino-wino or bino-slepton co-annihilation. We find that the combination of next-generation direct detection experiments and the LHC will be able to probe much of the interesting parameter space, however a future high-energy collider is needed to comprehensively explore this scenar…
Light higgsinos below several hundred GeV are favored or required by the naturalness of low energy supersymmetry. If only higgsinos are light while other sparticles are sufficiently heavy, we have the so-called light higgsino scenario. Confronted with the muon $g-2$ data, this scenario is examined in this work. Since in this scenario the LSP (lightest sparticle) is higgsino-like, we need to also consider the dark matter constraints. Assuming a light higgsino mass parameter $μ$ in the range of 100-400 GeV while gaugino mass parameters above TeV, we explore the parameter space under the muon $g-…
Supersymmetric models with sub-TeV charginos and sleptons have been a candidate for the origin of the long-standing discrepancy in the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2). By gathering all the available LHC Run 2 results, we investigate the latest LHC constraints on models that explain the anomaly by their chargino contribution to the muon g-2. It is shown that the parameter regions where sleptons are lighter than charginos are strongly disfavored. In contrast, we find that the models with $m_{\tildeμ_{\mathrm L}}\gtrsim m_{{\tildeχ}^{\pm}_1}$ are still widely allowed, where the lighter charg…
We explore the possibility that the muon $g-2$ anomaly and the nature of dark matter can be simultaneously explained within the framework of gaugino mediation, focusing on bino-like dark matter where the observed abundance is obtained via co-annihilations. The minimal model with non-universal gaugino masses is excluded by stau vacuum instability, although this constraint can be somewhat relaxed via the addition of a universal soft scalar mass (or $B-L$ gaugino mediation). A more promising alternative is gaugino+Higgs mediation, which significantly raises the soft masses of the third generation…
We analyze a multi-lepton signal plus missing transverse energy from neutrinos expected at the LHC for a Bino-like neutralino as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), when the left sneutrino is the next-to-LSP and hence a suitable source of Binos. The discussion is carried out in the framework of the $μν$SSM, where the presence of $R$-parity violating (RPV) couplings involving right-handed neutrinos solves the $μ$ problem and can reproduce simultaneously the neutrino data. Left sneutrinos/sleptons are pair produced at $pp$ collisions decaying to Binos, with the latter decaying via RPV to…
Supersymmetry is still a viable explanation for the muon $g-2$ anomaly, if the sleptons and electroweak gauginos are $\mathcal{O}(100)$ GeV. However, for supersymmetry breaking masses this light, the SUSY flavor and CP-problem are exacerbated. To address this issue, we consider a flavor-safe gauge mediated explanation of the muon $g-2$ with additional Higgs soft supersymmetry breaking mass parameters. The setup provides a generic parameter space within minimal gauge mediation. Furthermore, we show that the problematic CP violating phase can be dynamically suppressed. We find that gauge mediati…
Anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking (AMSB), when implemented in MSSM is known to suffer from the problem of negative slepton mass squared leading to breakdown of electric charge conservation. We show however that when MSSM is extended to explain small neutrino masses by including a pair of superheavy Higgs triplet superfields (the type II seesaw mechanism), the slepton masses can be deflected from the pure AMSB trajectory and become positive. In a simple model we present in this paper, the seesaw scale is about $10^{13}-10^{14}{\rm GeV}$. Gauge coupling unification can be maintained by emb…
In the context of minimal supersymmetry with slepton mass universality we find that an enhancement in h \rightarrow gamma gamma by at least 40%, as hinted by present data, implies a deviation of the muon anomalous magnetic moment by exactly the right amount to explain the observed anomaly. The enhancement in h \rightarrow gamma gamma selects a light stau with large left-right mixing, a light Bino, and heavy higgsinos. The corresponding parameters are compatible with thermal dark matter, predict small deviations in h \rightarrow Z gamma and h \rightarrow tau tau, and measurable violations of le…
The E989 experiment at the Fermi National Laboratory reported a 4.2$σ$ discrepancy between the measured magnetic dipole moment of the muon, and its prediction in the Standard Model (SM). In this study, we address the anomaly by considering a minimal and generic extension to the SM which also provides for a dark matter (DM) candidate. The extra states in this framework are: a SM singlet Majorana fermion, referred to as the Bino, playing the role of DM; and muonic scalars, referred to as sleptons. The couplings between the sleptons, SM muons and the Bino can account for the muon $g-2$ anomaly if…
We study the impact of present and future $(g-2)_μ$ measurements on supersymmetric models. The corrections to $(g-2)_μ$ become particularly relevant in the presence of light sleptons, charginos and neutralinos, especially in the large $\tanβ$ regime. For moderate or large values of $\tanβ$, it is possible to rule out scenarios in which charginos and sneutrinos are both light, but nevertheless escape detection at the LEP2 collider. Furthermore, models in which supersymmetry breaking is transferred to the observable sector through gauge interactions can be efficiently constrained by the $(g-2)_μ…
We study the interplay between a soft muon Yukawa coupling generated radiatively with the trilinear A-terms of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) and the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. In the absence of a tree-level muon Yukawa coupling the lightest smuon mass is predicted to be in the range between 750 GeV and 2700 GeV at 2 sigma, if the bino mass M_1 is below 1 TeV. Therefore, a detection of a smuon (in conjunction with a sub-TeV bino) at the LHC would directly imply a non-zero muon Yukawa coupling in the MSSM superpotential. Inclusion of slepton flavor mixing could in …
We study the constraints of the CP violation in the muon $g-2$ preferred region of the minimal supersymmetric standard model assuming a universal slepton masses within first two generations. We present two particular scenarios where the $g-2$ anomaly is predicted within 2 $σ$ level mainly through the chargino loop or the bino loop. We found that for both cases the electron EDM experiment already highly constrained the CP phase of the parameters: either the Arg[$μM_1]$ or Arg[$μM_2]$ should be smaller than $\mathcal O$(2-3)$\times10^{-5}$. If the muon $g-2$ anomaly is explained by the MSSM, a p…
We introduce a new model of supersymmetry breaking dominated by anomaly mediation. It has a viable spectrum, successful electroweak symmetry breaking, solves the mu-problem and maintains the anomaly-mediated form for soft-masses down to low energies thus solving the flavor problem. The model consists of the minimal supersymmetric standard model plus a singlet, anomaly-mediated soft masses and a dirac mass which marries the bino to the singlet. We describe a large class of models in the UV which can produce such boundary conditions. The dirac mass does not affect the so-called "UV insensitivity…
The SUSY contributions $Δa_μ$ to muon $g-2$ anomaly can not even reach $3σ$ in ordinary gauge mediated SUSY breaking (GMSB) scenarios because of the strong correlations between the colored sparticle masses and the uncolored EW sparticle masses. An interesting extension to GMSB is the (Extra)Ordinary Gauge Mediation (EOGM), which can relax the correlations between squarks and sleptons with non-universal choices for $N_{eff,3}$ and $N_{eff,2}$. We find that EOGM scenarios with $N_{eff,3}\ll N_{eff,2}$ can explain the muon $g-2$ anomaly within $3σ$ range, however can not explain the new W-boson m…
The Fermilab Muon $g-2$ collaboration recently announced the first result of measurement of the muon anomalous magnetic moment ($g-2$), which confirmed the previous result at the Brookhaven National Laboratory and thus the discrepancy with its Standard Model prediction. We revisit low-scale supersymmetric models that are naturally capable to solve the muon $g-2$ anomaly, focusing on two distinct scenarios: chargino-contribution dominated and pure-bino-contribution dominated scenarios. It is shown that the slepton pair-production searches have excluded broad parameter spaces for both two scenar…
The supersymmetric contribution to the muon g-2 is studied in light of the finalization of the LEP electroweak precision data. The recent precise measurement of the muon g-2 of E821 experiment is explained well by the relatively light chargino and sleptons. We find that such the MSSM parameter space is also favored from the electroweak precision data, in which the fit to the data is better than that of the SM (Δχ^2_{min} \sim -2), if the lighter chargino has a mixed higgsino-wino character (μ/M_2 \sim 1). The models with light gauginos (μ/M_2 > 10) or light higgsinos (μ/M_2 < 0.1) also show th…
We consider two classes of supersymmetric models with nonuniversal gaugino masses at M_GUT in an attempt to resolve the apparent muon g-2 anomaly encountered in the Standard Model. We explore two distinct scenarios, one in which all gaugino masses have the same sign at M_GUT, and a second case with opposite sign gaugino masses. The sfermion masses in both cases are assumed to be universal at M_GUT. We exploit the non universality among gaugino masses to realize large mass splitting between the colored and non-colored sfermions. Thus, the sleptons can have masses in the few hundred GeV range, w…
The Standard Model (SM) has had resounding success in describing almost every measurement performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments. In particular, these experiments have put many beyond the SM models of natural Electroweak Symmetry Breaking into tension with the data. It is therefore remarkable that it is still the LEP experiment, and not the LHC, which often sets the gold standard for understanding the possibility of new color-neutral states at the electroweak (EW) scale. Recently, ATLAS and CMS have started to push beyond LEP in bounding heavy new EW states, but a gap between the exclusion…
Minimal gauged U(1)$_{L_μ-L_τ}$ models can provide for an additional source for the muon anomalous magnetic moment however it is difficult to accommodate the discrepancy in the electron magnetic moment in tandem. Owing to the relative sign between the discrepancies in these quantities, it seems unlikely that they arise from the same source. We show that a supersymmetric (SUSY) gauged U(1)$_{L_μ-L_τ}$ model can accommodate both the muon and electron anomalous magnetic moments in a very simple and intuitive scenario, without utilizing lepton flavor violation. The currently allowed parameter spac…
We analyze the supersymmetric contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (a_μ) in the framework of pure and gaugino-assisted anomaly mediation models, and gaugino mediation models. In the last two models the gauge multiplets propagate in the higher dimensional bulk, providing a natural mechanism for solving the problem of negative squared slepton masses present in the pure anomaly mediation models. In the light of the new BNL results for a_μ, we found that the pure and gaugino-assisted anomaly mediation models are almost excluded by the BNL constraints at 2σlevel when combined …
The muon $g-2$ anomaly is a long-standing discrepancy from its standard model prediction. The recent improved measurement of the fine structure constant makes the electron $g-2$ anomaly very interesting for both sign and magnitude in comparison to the muon $g-2$ anomaly. In order to explain both muon and electron $g-2$ anomalies, we introduce flavor violation in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) as a low energy theory. The lepton flavor violating process $τ\to eγ$ is one the major constraints to explain both $g-2$ anomalies simultaneously emerging from flavor violating terms. We…
The effect of the recently observed 2.6 sigma deviation of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (a_mu = (g_mu -2)/2) from its Standard Model prediction is examined within the framework of supergravity models with grand unification and R parity invariance. The constraints of the Higgs mass bounds, the b -> s gamma bounds (including the large tan beta NLO corrections) and the cosmological relic density of light neutralinos (including all slepton neutralino coannihilation effects) are included in the analysis. For universal soft breaking, the Higgs and b -> s gamma bounds puts a lower bound m_1/2 >…
We study supersymmetric (SUSY) models in which the muon $g-2$ discrepancy and the dark matter relic abundance are simultaneously explained. The muon $g-2$ discrepancy, or a 3$σ$ deviation between the experimental and theoretical results of the muon anomalous magnetic moment, can be resolved by SUSY models, which implies at least three SUSY multiplets have masses of $\mathop{\mathcal{O}}(100)\, \mathrm{GeV}$. In particular, models with the bino, higgsino and slepton having $\mathop{\mathcal{O}}(100)\, \mathrm{GeV}$ masses are not only capable to explain the muon $g-2$ discrepancy but naturally …
SUSY searches at the LHC as well as the 126 GeV Higgs boson indicate that superparticles, especially squarks and gluinos, are not so light as we expected. It is important to investigate SUSY searches which do not rely on the colored superparticles. As a clue for the investigation, we focus on the muon g-2 anomaly, which can be explained by the SUSY contributions if some of neutralinos, charginos, and sleptons are as light as of order 100 GeV. We propose the muon-(g-2)-motivated MSSM as a benchmark model, where squarks are decoupled but the superparticles corresponding to the muon g-2 are light…
