QCD matter at finite temperature and density is a subject that has witnessed very impressive theoretical developments in the recent years. In this review I will discuss some new insights on the microscopic degrees of freedom of the QCD medium near the chiral crossover transition from lattice QCD. Latest high precision lattice data on the fluctuations and correlations between conserved charges like the baryon number, strangeness can help us to understand and distinguish between different models of interacting hadrons. Furthermore, the latest constraints on the location of the critical end-point and the curvature of the critical line will be discussed. In the later part of this review I will discuss about the insights on the thermal nature of the medium created in heavy ion collision experiments that have come from the theoretical analysis of the particle yields, and to what extent the lattice data on correlations and fluctuations of conserved charges can give us any information about the fireball at freezeout.
Considering the general structure of the two point functions of quarks and gluons, we compute the free energy and pressure of a strongly magnetized hot and dense QCD matter created in heavy-ion collisions. In presence of strong magnetic field we found that the deconfined QCD matter exhibits a paramagnetic nature. One gets different pressure in a direction parallel and perpendicular to magnetic field due to the magnetization acquired by the system. We obtain both longitudinal and transverse pressure, and magnetization of a hot deconfined QCD matter in presence of magnetic field. We have used ha…
I review recent new lattice QCD results on a few selected topics which are relevant to the heavy ion physics community. Special emphasis is put on the QCD phase diagram towards the chiral limit and at nonzero baryon density as well as the fate of quarkonia and heavy quark drag coefficients.
The holographic light-front QCD framework provides a unified nonperturbative description of the hadron mass spectrum, form factors and quark distributions. In this article we extend holographic QCD in order to describe the gluonic distribution in both the proton and pion from the coupling of the metric fluctuations induced by the spin-two Pomeron with the energy momentum tensor in anti--de Sitter space, together with constraints imposed by the Veneziano model{\color{blue},} without additional free parameters. The gluonic and quark distributions are shown to have significantly different effecti…
In this review we present the current state-of-the-art on complex Langevin simulations and their implications for the QCD phase diagram. After a short summary of the complex Langevin method, we present and discuss recent developments. Here we focus on the explicit computation of boundary terms, which provide an observable that can be used to check one of the criteria of correctness explicitly. We also present the method of Dynamic Stabilization and elaborate on recent results for fully dynamical QCD.
SU($3$) Polyakov linear-sigma model (PLSM) is systematically implemented to characterize the quark-hadron phase structure and to determine various thermodynamic quantities and magnetization of the QCD matter. In mean-field approximation, the dependence of the chiral order-parameter on finite magnetic field is also calculated. In a wide range of temperatures and magnetic field strengths, various thermodynamic quantities including trace anomaly, speed of sound squared, entropy density, specific heat are presented and some magnetic properties are described, as well. Wherever available these resul…
