The evolution of the energy difference between the neutron states $1i_{13/2}$ and $1h_{9/2}$ in the $N=82$ isotones and that between the proton states $1h_{11/2}$ and $1g_{7/2}$ in the $Z = 50$ isotopes are investigated within the framework of the relativistic Hartree-Fock theory, using the density-dependent effective interactions PKA1 and PKO$i$ ($i = 1 $, $ 2 $, $ 3 $). By identifying the contributions of the tensor force, which is naturally induced via the Fock terms, we find that the tensor force plays crucial roles in the evolution of the shell structure. The strength of the tensor force is also explored. It is found that moderately increasing the coupling strength of pion-nucleon coupling, i.e., $f_π$, will significantly improve the description of the shell-structure evolution. In particular, reducing the density dependence of $f_π$ is shown to be more preferable, in comparison to enlarging $f_π$ with a factor. This is in consistence with the idea of "tensor renormalization persistency" and provides valuable guidance for the development of nuclear energy density functional in the relativistic framework.
We study the nuclear properties of even-even superheavy $Z$=120 isotopes and $N$=184 isotones with the Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB)approach. Within this model we examine the deformation energy surfaces and two paths to fission: a reflection-symmetric path with elongated fission fragments (sEF) and a reflection-asymmetric path corresponding to elongated fission fragments (aEF). Furthermore, we explore the energy surfaces in the region of very large oblate deformations with toroidal nuclear density distributions. While the energy surfaces of toroidal $Z$=120 isotopes and $N$=184 isotones…
Low-energy dipole excitations in neon isotopes and N=16 isotones are calculated with a fully consistent axially-symmetric-deformed quasiparticle random phase approximation (QRPA) approach based on Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov (HFB) states. The same Gogny D1S effective force has been used both in HFB and QRPA calculations. The microscopical structure of these low-lying resonances, as well as the behavior of proton and neutron transition densities, are investigated in order to determine the isoscalar or isovector nature of the excitations. It is found that the N=16 isotones 24O, 26Ne, 28Mg, and 30Si …
A search for the self-consistent solutions for the chiral rotational bands in the N=75 isotones, 130Cs, 132La, 134Pr and 136Pm is performed within the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock cranking approach using SKM* and SLy4 parametrizations. The dependence of the solutions on the time-odd contributions in the energy functional is studied. From among the considered four isotones, self-consistent chiral solutions are obtained only in 132La. The microscopic calculations are compared with the 132La experimental data and with results of a classical model that contains all the mechanisms underlying the chirality o…
Proton-rich nuclei possess unique properties in the nuclear chart. Due to the presence of both continuum coupling and Coulomb interaction, phenomena such as halos, Thomas-Ehrman shift, and proton emissions can occur. Experimental data are difficult to be obtained therein, so that theoretical calculations are needed to understand nuclei at drip-lines and guide experimentalists for that matter. In particular, the $^{16}$Ne and $^{18}$Mg isotopes are supposed to be one-proton and/or two-proton emitting nuclei, but associated experimental data are either incomplete or even unavailable. Consequentl…
Restoration of pseudo-spin symmetry (PSS) along the $N=32$ and $34$ isotonic chains and the physics behind are studied by applying the relativistic Hartree-Fock theory with effective Lagrangian PKA1. Taking the proton pseudo-spin partners $(\pi2s_{1/2},\pi1d_{3/2})$ as candidates, systematic restoration of PSS along both isotonic chains is found from sulphur (S) to nickel (Ni), while distinct violation from silicon (Si) to sulphur is discovered near the drip lines. The effects of the tensor-force components introduced naturally by the Fock terms are investigated, which can only partly interpre…
We have performed shell-model calculations for the N=126 isotones 210Po, 211At, and 212Rn using a realistic effective interaction derived from the Bonn A nucleon-nucleon potential by means of a G-matrix folded-diagram method. The calculted binding energies, energy spectra and electromagnetic properties show remarkably good agreement with the experimental data. The results of this paper complement those of our previous study on neutron hole Pb isotopes, confirming that realistic effective interactions are now able to reproduce with quantitative accuracy the spectroscopic properties of complex n…
The electric quadrupole moment of $^{49}$Sc was measured by collinear laser spectroscopy at CERN-ISOLDE to be $Q_{\rm s}=-0.159(8)$ $e$b, and a nearly tenfold improvement in precision was reached for the electromagnetic moments of $^{47,49}$Sc. The single-particle behavior and nucleon-nucleon correlations are investigated with the electromagnetic moments of $Z=21$ isotopes and $N=28$ isotones as valence neutrons and protons fill the distinctive $0f_{7/2}$ orbit, respectively, located between magic numbers, 20 and 28. The experimental data are interpreted with shell-model calculations using an …
We investigate the low-lying 2$^+$ states of $N=28$ isotones ($^{48}$Ca, $^{46}$Ar, $^{44}$S and $^{42}$Si) with using the canonical-basis time-dependent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory in which the pairing is taken into account self-consistently. The quadrupole mode with very small excitation energies emerges in $^{46}$Ar, $^{44}$S and $^{42}$Si due to the strong quadrupole correlations triggered by the quenching of the $N=28$ shell gap. The importance of the quadrupole correlations between the protons and neutrons, and the role of the pairing correlation to reinforce the lowest 2$^+$ mode are…
Charge radii of Sn, Ba, Yb, and Pb isotopes are calculated within Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory with a Skyrme force and a density-dependent delta-force pairing. We investigate mean field effects of the pairing upon odd-even staggering of isotope shifts. HFB equations are solved in the canonical basis. Odd nuclei are treated in the blocking approximation.
On the basis of the cranked Skyrme-Hartree-Fock calculations in the three-dimensional coordinate-mesh representation, we suggest that, in addition to the well-known candidate 32S, the neutron-rich nucleus 36S and the drip-line nuclei,48S and 50S, are also good candidates for finding superdeformed rotational bands in Sulfur isotopes. Calculated density distributions for the superdeformed states in 48S and 50S exhibit superdeformed neutron skins
Using the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) mean field theory in coordinate space, we investigate ground state properties of the sulfur isotopes from the line of stability up to the two-neutron dripline ($^{34-52}S$). In particular, we calculate two-neutron separation energies, quadrupole moments, and rms-radii for protons and neutrons. Evidence for shape coexistence is found in the very neutron-rich sulfur isotopes. We compare our calculations with results from relativistic mean field theory and with available experimental data. We also study the properties of neutron-rich zirconium ($^{102,104}Z…
The ground state properties including radii, density distribution and one neutron separation energy for C, N, O and F isotopes up to the neutron drip line are systematically studied by the fully self-consistent microscopic Relativistic Continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov (RCHB) theory. With the proton density distribution thus obtained, the charge-changing cross sections for C, N, O and F isotopes are calculated using the Glauber model. Good agreement with the data has been achieved. The charge changing cross sections change only slightly with the neutron number except for proton-rich nuclei. Similar…
We study the proton magic O, Ca, Ni, Zr, Sn, and Pb isotope chains from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line with the relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov (RCHB) theory. Particulary, we study in detail the properties of even-even Ca isotopes due to the appearance of giant halos in neutron rich Ca nuclei near the neutron drip line. The RCHB theory is able to reproduce the experimental binding energies $E_b$ and two neutron separation energies $S_{2n}$ very well. The predicted neutron drip line nuclei are $^{28}$O, $^{72}$Ca, $^{98}$Ni, $^{136}$Zr, $^{176}$Sn, and $^{266}$Pb, respe…
The structure of low-energy collective states in proton-deficient N=28 isotones is analyzed using structure models based on the relativistic energy density functional DD-PC1. The relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov model for triaxial nuclei is used to calculate binding energy maps in the $β$-$γ$ plane. The evolution of neutron and proton single-particle levels with quadrupole deformation, and the occurrence of gaps around the Fermi surface, provide a simple microscopic interpretation of the onset of deformation and shape coexistence. Starting from self-consistent constrained energy surfaces calcul…
Within the relativistic Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (RHFB) theory, the structure properties of Carbon isotopes are systematically studied. In order to reproduce the experiment data, we take the finite-range Gogny D1S with a strength factor $f$ as the pairing force. The self-consistent RHFB calculations with density-dependent meson-nucleon couplings indicate the single-neutron halo structures in both $^{17}$C and $^{19}$C, whereas the two-neutron halo in $^{22}$C is not well supported. It is also found that close to the neutron drip line there exists distinct odd-even staggering on neutron radii, w…
Self-consistent axially symmetric Skyrme Hartree-Fock plus BCS calculations are performed to study the evolution of shapes with the number of nucleons in various chains of Yb, Hf, W, Os, and Pt isotopes from neutron number N=110 up to N=122. Potential energy curves are analyzed in a search for signatures of oblate-prolate phase shape transitions and results from various Skyrme and pairing forces are considered. Comparisons with results obtained with the Gogny interaction as well as with relativistic mean field calculations are presented. The role of the $γ$ degree of freedom is also discussed.
The occurrence of the proton bubble-like structure has been studied within the relativistic Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (RHFB) and relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) theories by exploring the bulk properties, the charge density profiles and single proton spectra of argon isotopes and $N = 28$ isotones. It is found that the RHFB calculations with PKA1 effective interaction, which can properly reproduce the charge radii of argon isotopes and the $Z=16$ proton shell nearby, do not support the occurrence of the proton bubble-like structure in argon isotopes due to the prediction of deeper bound pro…
Recently, we developed a mean-field-type framework which treats the correlation induced by the tensor force. To exploit the tensor correlation we introduce single-particle states with the parity and charge mixing. To make a total wave function have a definite charge number and a good parity, the charge number and parity projections are performed. Taking a variation of the projected wave function with respect to single-particle states a Hartree-Fock-like equation, the charge- and parity-projected Hartree-Fock equation, is obtained. In the charge- and parity-projected Hartree-Fock method, we sol…
In a previous work [Int. J. Mod. Phys. E 24, 1550073 (2015)], hereafter referred as paper I, we have investigated the ground-state properties of Nd, Ce and Sm isotopes within Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method with SLy5 skyrme force in which the pairing strength has been generalized with a new proposed formula. However, that formula is more appropriate for the region of Nd. In this work, we have studied the ground-state properties of both even-even and odd Mo and Ru isotopes. For this, we have used Hartree- Fock-Bogoliubov method with SLy4 skyrme force, and a new formula of the pairing strength wh…
The Relativistic Hartree Bogoliubov (RHB) theory is applied in the description of ground-state properties of Ni and Sn isotopes. The NL3 parameter set is used for the effective mean-field Lagrangian, and pairing correlations are described by the pairing part of the finite range Gogny interaction D1S. Fully self-consistent RHB solutions are calculated for the Ni ($28\leq N\leq 50$) and Sn ($50\leq N\leq 82$) isotopes. Binding energies, neutron separation energies, and proton and neutron $rms$ radii are compared with experimental data. The model predicts a reduction of the spin-orbit potential w…
In this work, we have studied ground-state properties of both even-even and odd Nd isotopes within Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method with SLy5 Skyrme force in which the pairing strength has been generalized with a new proposed formula. We calculated bind- ing energies, two-neutron separation energies, quadrupole deformation, charge, neutron and proton radii. Similar calculations have been carried out for Ce and Sm in order to verify the validity of our pairing strength formula. The results have been compared with available experimental data, the results of Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations bas…
We investigate ground states properties of Pb isotopes located between neutron and proton drip-lines estimated by two-neutron (two-proton) separation energies and Fermi energies within the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum (DRHBc). First, we report some candidates of nuclear shape coexistence in the isotope chain. They are accessed by calculating total energy as a function of the deformation parameter $β_2$, and for the coexistence candidates we take a couple of the deformation region bringing about minima of the energy within energy difference $ΔE < $ 1 MeV. Second,…
A numerical method to integrate the time-dependent Hartree-Fock Bogoliubov (TDHFB) equations with Gogny interaction is proposed. The feasibility of the TDHFB code is illustrated by the conservation of the energy, particle numbers, and center-of-mass in the small amplitude vibrations of oxygen 20. The TDHFB code is applied to the isoscalar quadrupole and/or isovector dipole vibrations in the linear (small amplitude) region in oxygen isotopes (masses A = 18,20,22 and 24), titanium isotopes (A = 44,50,52 and 54), neon isotope (A = 26), and magnesium isotopes (A = 24 and 34). The isoscalar quadrup…
The $N = 28$ shell gap in sulfur, argon, calcium and titanium isotopes is investigated in the framework of relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov (RCHB) theory. The evolutions of neutron shell gap, separation energy, single particle energy and pairing energy are analyzed, and it is found that $N = 28$ shell gap is quenched in sulfur isotopes but persists in argon, calcium and titanium isotopes. The evolution of $N = 28$ shell gap in $N = 28$ isotonic chain is discussed, and the erosion of $N = 28$ shell gap is understood with the evolution of potential with proton number.
We perform calculations of the variation after parity projection with Skyrme interaction for ground and excited states of even-even Mg isotopes. Using the 3D real-space representation, we can take into account any kind of deformation; e.g., cluster structure, gamma-deformation. We also perform the full 3D angular momentum projection to obtained rotational spectra and B(E2). In 24Mg, the ground K^pi=0+ and several odd-parity bands are calculated. In 30,32,34Mg, our calculation reproduces a breaking of the N=20 magic number, so-called "Island of inversion" phenomena. Properties of both the groun…
The self-consistent continuum Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory formulated with Green's function technique in the coordinate space is developed to investigate odd-$A$ nuclei by incorporating the blocking effect. In a calculation performed with the SLy4 parameter for the neutron-rich Mg isotopes with $A=36-42$ around the neutron shell closure N=28, the odd-even staggering in the neutron rms radius, i.e., a larger value in $^{39}$Mg than those in $^{38}$Mg and $^{40}$Mg, is found. The large neutron radius in $^{39}$Mg is due to the blocking effect on the pair correlation energy, for which th…
Low-energy E1 strength in neutron-rich $^{132-164}$Sn isotopes is analyzed in the framework of the Skyrme random phase approximation (RPA) with different Skyrme forces. A double folding procedure is applied to take into account the energy-dependent width effects beyond RPA. All the considered Skyrme forces indicate a soft prolate deformation in the open shell isotopes $^{142-164}$Sn. The integrated E1 strength in the energy region of the pygmy resonance grows with the neutron number. The influence of deformation on the integrated strength near the particle emission thresholds (which is of a ke…
We have introduced a separable pairing force, which was adjusted to reproduce the pairing properties of the Gogny force in nuclear matter. This separable pairing force is able to describe in relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) calculations the pairing properties in the ground state of finite nuclei on almost the same footing as the original Gogny interaction. In this work we investigate excited states using the Relativistic Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation (RQRPA) with the same separable pairing force. For consistency the Goldstone modes and the convergence with various cutoff parame…
I have investigated the $N$-dependence of the charge radii $r_c$ across $N=126$ in the Pb isotopes and the surface densities of $^{208}$Pb using new Skyrme interactions that contain a density-dependent spin-orbit term, which I have named the Skyrme-ddso interactions. I have compared the results obtained using Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations that employ the Skyrme-ddso interactions with the original Skyrme results and have discussed the effects of including the density-dependent spin-orbit term. The results for the kink behavior of $r_c$ at $N=126$ in the Pb isotopes were improved b…
Relativistic Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (RHFB) theory with density-dependent meson-nucleon couplings is presented. The integro-differential RHFB equations are solved by expanding the different components of the quasi-particle spinors in the complete set of eigen-solutions of the Dirac equations with Woods-Saxon potentials. Using the finite-range Gogny force D1S as an effective interaction in the pairing channel, systematic RHFB calculations are performed for Sn isotopes and N=82 isotones. It is demonstrated that an appropriate description of both mean field and pairing effects can be obtained wit…
The nuclear structure of even-even and odd lead isotopes (178-236 Pb) is investigated within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Calculations are performed for a wide range of neutron numbers, starting from the proton-rich side up to the neutron-rich side, by using the SLy4 Skyrme interaction and a new proposed formula for the pairing strength which is more precise for this region of nuclei as we did in previous works in the regions of Neodymium (Nd, Z=60) [Int. J. Mod. Phys. E 24, 1550073 (2015)] and Molybdenum (Mo, Z=42) [Nuc. Phys. A 957 22-32 (2017)]. Such a new pairing strength formula al…
The neutron pair correlation in nuclei near the neutron drip-line is investigated using the selfconsistent continuum Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory formulated with the coordinate-space Green's function technique. Numerical analysis is performed for even-even N = 86 isotones in the Mo-Sn region, where the 3p3/2 and 3p1/2 orbits lying near the Fermi energy are either weakly bound or unbound. The quasiparticle states originating from the l = 1 orbits form resonances with large widths, which are due to the low barrier height and the strong continuum coupling caused by the pair potential. An…
The ground-state properties of neutron-deficient Hg isotopes have been investigated by the constrained self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approach with the Skyrme and Gogny effective forces. In the case of the Skyrme interaction we h ave also applied the Hartree-Fock+BCS model with the state-dependent $δ$-pairing interaction. Potential energy surfaces and pairing properties have been compared for the both types of forces.
Spontaneous-fission properties of 256Fm, 258Fm, and 260Fm isotopes are studied within the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock+BCS framework. In the particle-hole channel we take the Skyrme SkM* effective force, while in the particle-particle channel we employ the seniority pairing interaction. Three static fission paths for all investigated heavy fermium isotopes are found. The analysis of these fission modes allows to describe observed asymmetric fission of 256Fm, as well as bimodal fission of 258Fm and symmetric fission in 260Fm.
The relativistic quasiparticle random phase approximation (RQRPA) is formulated in the canonical single-nucleon basis of the relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) model. For the interaction in the particle-hole channel effective Lagrangians with nonlinear meson self-interactions are used, and pairing correlations are described by the pairing part of the finite range Gogny interaction. The RQRPA configuration space includes the Dirac sea of negative energy states. Both in the particle-hole and particle-particle channels, the same interactions are used in the RHB calculation of the ground state …
The nuclear structure of even-even and odd lead isotopes (178-236 Pb) is investigated within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Relativistic mean field theory with the NL3 force is used for producing potential energy surfaces (PES) for series of isotopes suggested as exhibiting critical point symmetries. Relatively flat PES are obtained for nuclei showing the E(5) symmetry, while in nuclei corresponding to the X(5) case, PES with a bump are obtained. The PES corresponding to the Pt chain of isotopes suggest a transition from prolate to oblate shapes at 186-Pt.
Much interest has been devoted to the shape evolution of neutron-rich Si isotopes recently both experimentally and theoretically. We provide our study of $^{28-42}$Si by Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model with BCS approximation for the pairing channel. We use an empirical pairing parameter deduced from the experimental binding energy data for each nuclei and each Skyrme parametrization. The recent highlight of the deformation change from a prolate shape of $^{38}$Si to an oblate shape of $^{42}$Si is confirmed in the present model. We also emphasize the role of tensor force on deformations of neutron-r…
The possible exotic nuclear properties in the neutron-rich Ca, Ni, Zr, and Sn isotopes are explored with the continuum Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory formulated with the Green's function method. The available experimental two-neutron separation energies $S_{\rm 2n}$ and one-neutron separation energies $S_{\rm n}$ are well reproduced. Much shorter drip lines predicted by $S_{\rm n}$ are obtained compared with those by $S_{\rm 2n}$. The systematic studies of the neutron pairing energies $-E_{\rm pair}$ shown that values of the odd-$A$ nuclei are much smaller in comparison with those of th…
The Relativistic Continuum Hartree Bogoliubov theory (RCHB), which is the extension of the Relativistic Mean Field and the Bogoliubov transformation in the coordinate representation, has been used to study tin isotopes. The pairing correlation is taken into account by a density-dependent force of zero range. RCHB is used to describe the even-even tin isotopes all the way from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line. The contribution of the continuum which is important for nuclei near the drip-line has been taken into account. The theoretical $S_{2n}$ as well as the neutron, proton, and m…
The quadrupole vibrational modes of neutron-rich $N$=28 isotones ($^{48}$Ca, $^{46}$Ar, $^{44}$S and $^{42}$Si) are investigated using the canonical-basis time-dependent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory with several choice of energy density functionals, including nuclear pairing correlation. It is found that the quenching of $N$=28 shell gap and the proton holes in the $sd$-shell trigger quadrupole correlation and increase the collectivity of the low-lying 2$^+$ state in $^{46}$Ar. It is also found that the pairing correlation plays an important role to increase the collectivity. We also demonst…
It is shown that the three-body forces in the $1f_{7/2}$ shell, for which recently evidence was found on the basis of spectroscopic properties of the Ca isotopes and $N=28$ isotones, can be most naturally explained as an effective interaction due to excluded higher-lying shells, in particular the $2p_{3/2}$ orbit.}
The M3Y-type semi-realistic interaction is applied to deformed nuclei for the first time. The constrained Hartree-Fock calculations assuming axial symmetry are implemented for the $N=20$ isotones $^{30}$Ne, $^{32}$Mg, $^{34}$Si and the $N=28$ isotones $^{40}$Mg, $^{42}$Si, $^{44}$S with the M3Y-P6 interaction. The results match the experimental data well. Effects of the realistic tensor force on the nuclear quadrupole deformation are investigated in relation to the loss of the $N=20$ and $28$ magic numbers. The tensor force is confirmed to favor the deformation for the $N=28$ nuclei owing to t…
Encouraged with the evidence for Z = 6 magic number in neutron-rich carbon isotopes, we have performed relativistic mean-field plus BCS calculations to investigate ground state properties of entire chains of isotopes(isotones) with Z(N) = 6 including even and odd mass nuclei. Our calculations include deformation, binding energy, separation energy, single particle energy, rms radii along with charge and neutron density profile etc., and are found in an excellent match with latest experimental results demonstrating Z = 6 as a strong magic number. N = 6 is also found to own similar kind of strong…
A systematic analysis is made on the total reaction cross sections for Ne, Mg, Si, and S isotopes. The high-energy nucleus-nucleus collision is described based on the Glauber model. Using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock method in the three-dimensional grid-space representation, we determine the nuclear density distribution for a wide range of nuclei self-consistently without assuming any spatial symmetry. The calculated total reaction cross sections consistently agree with the recent cross section data on Ne$+^{12}$C collision at 240$A$\,MeV, which makes it possible to discuss the radius and deformati…
We have employed RMF+BCS (relativistic mean-field plus BCS) approach to study behaviour of pf shell with the help of ground state properties of even-even nuclei. Our present investigations include separation energies , deformations, single particle energies, wavefunction, potential as well etc density distribution. As per recent experiments showing neutron magicity at N = 32 for Ca isotopes, our results with mass dependent pairing indicate a shell closure at N = 32 in Ca isotopes and a more strong shell closure at N = 34 in proton deficient 48Si because of reorganization of neutron pf shell. I…
The shape of a nucleus is one of fundamental nuclear properties. We perform a systematic investigation of bubble nuclei that also exhibit shape coexistence in Hf, W, Os, Pt and Hg even-even isotopes using the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum. For a systematic study, we first consider nuclear bubble structures and shape coexistence separately. We confirm that deformations and pairing correlations hinder bubble structures by comparing our results with those from relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov theory that assumes spherical symmetry in nuclei. We then predict…
The evolution of nuclear shell structure is investigated for the first time within density-dependent relativistic Hartree-Fock theory and the role of $π$-exchange potential is studied in detail. The energy differences between the neutron orbits $\Lrb{\nu1h_{9/2},ν1i_{13/2}}$ in the N=82 isotones and between the proton ones $\Lrb{\pi1g_{7/2},\pi1h_{11/2}}$ in the Z=50 isotopes are extracted as a function of neutron excess $N-Z$. A kink around $Z = 58$ for the N=82 isotones is found as an effect resulting from pion correlations. It is shown that the inclusion of $π$-coupling plays a central role…

We study pairing vibrations in $^{18,20,22}$O and $^{42,44,46}$Ca nuclei solving the time-dependent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov equation in coordinate space with spherical symmetry. We use the SLy4 Skyrme functional in the normal part of the energy density functional and a local density dependent functional in its pairing part. Pairing vibrations are excited by two-neutron transfer operators. Strength distributions are obtained using the Fourier transform of the time-dependent response of two-neutron pair-transfer observables in the linear regime. Results are in overall agreement with quasiparticl…
The systematic investigation of ground state shape evolution from gamma unstable O(6) to spherical U(5) for Te isotopes has been presented by using the quadrupole moment constrained Hartree Fock Bogoliubov (HFB) method with the Skyrme force SLy4. 124Te has been pointed out as to be the possible critical point nucleus with E(5) symmetry.
We benchmark angular-momentum projected{-after-variation} Hartree-Fock calculations as an approximation to full configuration-interaction results in a shell model basis. For such a simple approximation we find reasonably good agreement between excitation spectra, including for many odd-$A$ and odd-odd nuclides. We frequently find shape coexistence, in the form of multiple Hartree-Fock minima; {mixing in shape coexistence, the first step beyond single-reference projected Hartree-Fock}, demonstrably improves the spectrum in the $sd$- and $pf$-shells. The complex spectra of germanium isotopes pre…
The Relativistic Hartree Bogoliubov (RHB) model is applied in the self-consistent mean-field approximation to the description of the neutron halo in the mass region above the s-d shell. Pairing correlations and the coupling to particle continuum states are described by finite range two-body forces. Finite element methods are used in the coordinate space discretization of the coupled system of Dirac-Hartree-Bogoliubov integro-differential eigenvalue equations, and Klein-Gordon equations for the meson fields. Calculations are performed for the isotopic chains of Ne and C nuclei. We find evidence…
Parity violating elastic electron scattering on neutron-rich nuclei is described in the framework of relativistic mean-field theory. Self-consistent ground state density distributions of Ne, Na, Ni and Sn isotopes are calculated with the relativistic Hartree- Bogoliubov model, and the resulting neutron radii are compared with available experimental data. For the elastic scattering of 850 MeV electrons on these nuclei, the parity-violating asymmetry parameters are calculated using a relativistic optical model with inclusion of Coulomb distortion effects. The asymmetry parameters for chains of i…
Ground state properties of carbon isotopes, including root-mean-square radii, neutron separation energies, single particle spectra, and shapes are systematically studied with the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum. The calculations with the effective interaction PK1 reproduce the available data reasonably well. The shell evolution in this isotopic chain is investigated by examining the single particle spectra. The inversion of neutron orbitals $ν2s_{1/2}$ and $ν1d_{5/2}$ compared with the order of neutron orbitals in stable nuclei is revealed in $^{15-20,22}\mathrm{C}…
