The three-point amplitude is the key building block in the on-shell approach to scattering amplitudes. We show that the classical objects computed by massive three-point amplitudes in gauge theory and gravity are Newman-Penrose scalars in a split-signature spacetime, where three-point amplitudes can be defined for real kinematics. In fact, the quantum state set up by the particle is a coherent state fully determined by the three-point amplitude due to an eikonal-type exponentiation. Having identified this simplest classical solution from the perspective of scattering amplitudes, we explore the double copy of the Newman-Penrose scalars induced by the traditional double copy of amplitudes, and find that it coincides with the Weyl version of the classical double copy. We also exploit the Kerr-Schild version of the classical double copy to determine the exact spacetime metric in the gravitational case. Finally, we discuss the direct implication of these results for Lorentzian signature via analytic continuation.
The double copy is by now a firmly-established correspondence between amplitudes and classical solutions in biadjoint scalar, gauge and gravity theories. To date, no strongly coupled examples of the double copy in four dimensions have been found, and previous attempts based on exact non-linear solutions of biadjoint theory in Lorentzian signature have failed. In this paper, we instead look for biadjoint solutions in Euclidean signature, which may be relatable to Yang-Mills or gravitational instantons. We show that spherically symmetric power-like Euclidean solutions do not exist in precisely f…
The classical double copy relating exact solutions of biadjoint scalar, gauge and gravity theories continues to receive widespread attention. Recently, a derivation of the exact classical double copy was presented, using ideas from twistor theory, in which spacetime fields are mapped to Cech cohomology classes in twistor space. A puzzle remains, however, in how to interpret the twistor double copy, in that it relies on somehow picking special representatives of each cohomology class. In this paper, we provide two alternative formulations of the twistor double copy using the more widely-used la…
We show that general parity-violating 3d conformal field theories show a double copy structure for momentum space 3-point functions of conserved currents, stress tensor and marginal scalar operators. Splitting up the CFT correlator into two parts - called homogeneous and non-homogeneous - we show that double copy relations exist for each part separately. We arrive at similar conclusions regarding double copy structures using tree-level correlators of massless fields in $dS_4$. We also discuss the flat space limit of these correlators. We further extend the double copy analysis to correlators i…
The connection of (split-)division algebras with Clifford algebras and supersymmetry is investigated. At first we introduce the class of superalgebras constructed from any given (split-)division algebra. We further specify which real Clifford algebras and real fundamental spinors can be reexpressed in terms of split-quaternions. Finally, we construct generalized supersymmetries admitting bosonic tensorial central charges in terms of (split-)division algebras. In particular we prove that split-octonions allow to introduce a split-octonionic M-algebra which extends to the (6,5) signature the pro…
We construct the ASDYM 1-solitons and multi-solitons for split signature and interpret them as soliton walls. We show that the gauge group is $\mathrm{G=SU(2)}$ for the entire intersecting soliton walls, and $\mathrm{SU(3)}$ for each soliton walls in the asymptotic region. This is joint research partially with Masashi Hamanaka, Claire R. Gilson, and Jonathan Nimmo.
We study the geometry of type II supergravity compactifications in terms of an oriented vector bundle $E$, endowed with a bundle metric of split signature and further datum. The geometric structure is associated with a so-called generalised $G$-structure and characterised by an $E$-spinor $ρ$, which we can regard as a differential form of mixed degree. This enables us to reformulate the field equations of type II supergravity as an integrability condition of type $d_Hρ=0$, where $d_H=d+H\wedge$ is the twisted differential on forms. Finally, we investigate some geometric properties of integrabl…
Recent work has shown how on-shell three-point amplitudes in gauge theory and gravity, representing the coupling to massive particles, correspond in the classical limit to the curvature spinors of linearised solutions. This connection, made explicit via the KMOC formalism in split metric signature, turns the double copy of scattering amplitudes into the double copy of classical solutions. Here, we extend this framework to the universal massless sector of supergravity, which is the complete double copy of pure gauge theory. Our extension relies on a Riemann-Cartan curvature incorporating the di…
In this final part of a series of three papers, we will assemble supersymmetric expressions for one-loop correlators in pure-spinor superspace that are BRST invariant, local, and single valued. A key driving force in this construction is the generalization of a so far unnoticed property at tree level; the correlators have the symmetry structure akin to Lie polynomials. One-loop correlators up to seven points are presented in a variety of representations manifesting different subsets of their defining properties. These expressions are related via identities obeyed by the kinematic superfields a…

We construct a maximally supersymmetric Type IIB background in signature $(5,5)$ on the real ten-manifold underlying complex $\mathrm{AdS}_5$. The spacetime is diffeomorphic to $T^*S^5$ and carries the invariant metric $G=\mathrm i(\bar q-q)$, where $q$ is the holomorphic constant-curvature metric. The real five-form $F_5=(4\mathrm i/L)(Ω-\barΩ)$, built from its normalized volume form, is self-dual, and its stress tensor supports this scalar-flat, non-Einstein metric. We derive these fields from the most general $\mathrm{SL}(4,\mathbb C)$-invariant metric and five-form ansatz: self-duality and…
In the scenario recently proposed by Arkani and Dimopoulos, the supersymmetric scalar particles are all very heavy, at least of the order of $10^9$ GeV but the gauginos, higgsinos, and one of the neutral Higgs bosons remain under a TeV. The most distinct signature is the metastable gluino. However, the detection of metastable gluino depends crucially on the spectrum of hadrons that it fragments into. Instead, here we propose another unambiguous signature by forming the gluino-gluino bound state, gluinonium, which will then annihilate into $t\bar t$ and $b\bar b$ pairs. We study the sensitivity…
In this thesis, we construct a class of exact ASDYM 1-solitons and multi-solitons on 4-dimensional real spaces with the Euclidean signature $(+, +, +, +)$, the Minkowski signature $(+, - , -, -)$, and the split signature ($+$, $+$, $-$, $-$) (the Ultrahyperbolic space). They are new results and successful applications of the Darboux transformation introduced by Nimmo, Gilson, Ohta. In particular, the principal peak of the Lagrangian density Tr$F_{μν}F^{μν}$ is localized on a 3-dimensional hyperplane in 4 dimensional space. Therefore, we use the term "soliton walls" to distinguish them from the…
