We explain anomalies currently present in various data samples used for the measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of electron ($a_e$) and muon ($a_μ$) in terms of an Aligned 2-Higgs Doublet Model with right-handed neutrinos. The explanation is driven by one and two-loop topologies wherein a very light CP-odd neutral Higgs state ($A$) contributes significantly to $a_μ$ but negligibly to $a_e$, so as to revert the sign of the new physics corrections in the former case with respect to the latter, wherein the dominant contribution is due to a charged Higgs boson ($H^\pm$) and heavy neutrinos with mass at the electroweak scale. For the region of parameter space of our new physics model which explains the aforementioned anomalies we also predict an almost background-free smoking-gun signature of it, consisting of $H^\pm A$ production followed by Higgs boson decays yielding multi-$τ$ final states, which can be pursued at the Large Hadron Collider.
In the first part of this thesis, we consider an extension to the Standard Model composed by a Massive Vector Doublet under SU(2)L and a Left-handed Heavy Neutral Lepton. We study the production of these exotic leptons with a Same Flavor Opposite Sign standard lepton pair, and jets. We establish limits on the parameter space considering previous searches in this final state. After the limit definition, we study a modification on the event selection criteria in order to increase the possibility of probing these new particles at the Large Hadron Collider. Finally, we perform a parameter scan con…
Low energy effects induced by heavy extra degrees of freedom are suppressed by powers of the large mass scale, thus preserving, if sufficiently heavy, the successes of the Standard Model in describing low energy phenomena. However, as is well known, heavy right-handed neutrinos may play an important role in low energy phenomenology as an explanation of the smallness of neutrino masses. We consider in this paper an extension of the Standard Model by heavy right-handed neutrinos and heavy Higgs doublets and we show, using a renormalization group approach, that this model can simultaneously provi…
We propose a class of the two Higgs doublet Standard models (SMs) with a SM singlet and a class of supersymmetric SMs with two pairs of Higgs doublets, where the right-handed up/charm quarks and the right-handed top quark have different quantum numbers under extra discrete symmetries. Thus, the right-handed up and charm quarks couple to one Higgs doublet field, while the right-handed top quark couples to another Higgs doublet. The quark CKM mixings can be generated from the down-type quark sector. As one of phenomenological consequences in our models, we explore whether one can accommodate the…
We study parameters of an extension of the Standard Model. The neutrino sector is enlarged by one right-handed singlet field, allowing for the seesaw mechanism type-I, and the Higgs sector contains one additional doublet, which contributes to light neutrino masses through one-loop radiative corrections. Employing an approximation for the effective light neutrino mass matrix we express the masses of the light neutrinos analytically, allowing us to parametrize the Yukawa couplings to neutrinos by the experimental measurements on the neutrino sector and only two free parameters. We focus on a CP-…
We investigate a two Higgs doublet model with extra flavour depending $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry where $Z'$ boson interactions can explain the Atomki anomaly by choosing appropriate charge assignment for the SM fermions. For parameter region explaining the Atomki anomaly we obtain light scalar boson with $\mathcal{O}(10)$ GeV mass, and we explore scalar sector to search for allowed parameter space. We then discuss anomalous magnetic dipole moment of muon and lepton flavour violating processes induced by Yukawa couplings of our model.
The recent intriguing measurements of $R_{K}$ and $R_{K^*}$ are important hints of new physics that violates lepton universality. We analyze the semileptonic decays $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ in the framework of the $B-L$ extension of Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with Inverse Seesaw (BLSSMIS). A salient feature of this model is that one of the right-handed sneutrino can be light and the neutrino Yukawa couplings are of order one. We show that the box diagram mediated by right-handed sneutrino, higgsino-like chargino, and light stop can account simultaneously for both $R_{K}$ and $…
We consider the two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) along with a generation of vector-like lepton doublet and singlet to explain the observed discrepancies in the electron and muon anomalous magnetic moments. The type-X (lepton-specific) 2HDM can allow a light pseudo-scalar which is known to explain the muon anomalous magnetic moment at two-loop. Such a light particle induces a sizable negative contribution to the electron anomalous magnetic moment at one-loop in the presence of vector-like leptons evading all the experimental constraints.
We analyze the vacuum stability in the inert Higgs doublet extension of the Standard Model (SM), augmented by right-handed neutrinos (RHNs) to explain neutrino masses at tree level by the seesaw mechanism. We make a comparative study of the high- and low-scale seesaw scenarios and the effect of the Dirac neutrino Yukawa couplings on the stability of the Higgs potential. Bounds on the scalar quartic couplings and Dirac Yukawa couplings are obtained from vacuum stability and perturbativity considerations. The regions corresponding to stability, metastability and instability of the electroweak va…
In this note, we show how one can attribute the anomaly currently present in the measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon ($a_μ$) to the presence of an underlying Aligned 2-Higgs Doublet Model (A2HDM) with Right-Handed (RH) neutrinos, $ν_R$. The effects of the latter scenario are driven by one and two-loop topologies wherein a very light CP-odd neutral Higgs state ($A$) contributes significantly to $a_μ$. Over the region of parameter space of our new physics model which explains the aforementioned anomaly, also consistent with the most recent measurements of the electron anomal…
It is shown that the mixing of lepton doublets of the Standard Model can yield sizeable contributions to the lepton asymmetry, that is generated through the decays of right-handed neutrinos at finite temperature in the early Universe. When calculating the flavour-mixing correlations, we account for the effects of Yukawa as well as of gauge interactions. We compare the freeze-out asymmetry from lepton-doublet mixing to the standard contributions from the mixing and direct decays of right-handed neutrinos. The asymmetry from lepton mixing is considerably large when the mass ratio between the rig…
We explore the intermediate dark matter mass regime of the inert Higgs doublet model (IHDM) by extending the model with three copies of right handed singlet neutrinos. The in built discrete $Z_2$ symmetry of the model allows these right handed neutrinos to couple to the usual lepton doublets through the inert Higgs doublet allowing the possibility of radiative neutrino mass in the scotogenic fashion. Apart from generating non-zero neutrino mass, such an extension can also revive the intermediate dark matter mass regime, between $W$ boson mass to a few hundred GeV's where pure IHDM can not give…
To address five fundamental shortcomings of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics and cosmology, we propose a SMART U(1)$_X$ model which is a $U(1)_X \times U(1)_{PQ}$ extension of the SM. The $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry is a generalization of the well-known $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry and $U(1)_{PQ}$ is the global Peccie-Quinn (PQ) symmetry. Three right handed neutrinos are added to cancel $U(1)_X$ related anomalies, and they play a crucial role in understanding the observed neutrino oscillations and explaining the observed baryon asymmetry in the universe via leptogenesis. The PQ symmetry helps …
We present a first-principles numerical computation of the baryon asymmetry in electroweak-scale baryogenesis. For the scenario of Cold Baryogenesis, we consider a one fermion-family reduced CP-violating two Higgs-doublet model, including a classical SU(2)-gauge/two-Higgs sector coupled to one quantum left-handed fermion doublet and two right-handed singlets. Separately, the C(CP) breaking of the two-Higgs potential and the C and P breaking of the gauge-fermion interactions do not provide a baryon asymmetry. Only when combined does baryogenesis occur. Through large-scale computer simulations, …
The Standard Model of particle interactions is extended to include fermion doublets (n,e)_R transforming under the gauge group SU(2)_R such that n is a scotino (dark-matter fermion), with odd R parity. This dark left-right model (DLRM) treats neutrinos and scotinos in parallel, and has interesting phenomenology at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
In this paper, we interpret the 750 GeV diphoton excess in the Zee-Babu extension of the two-Higgs-doublet model by introducing a top partner ($T$)/bottom partner ($B$). In the alignment limit, the 750 GeV resonance is identified as the heavy CP-even Higgs boson ($H$), which can be sizably produced via the QCD process $pp \to T\bar{T}$ or $pp \to B\bar{B}$ followed by the decay $T\to Ht$ or $B \to Hb$. The diphoton decay rate of $H$ is greatly enhanced by the charged singlet scalars predicted in the Zee-Babu extension and the total width of $H$ can be as large as 7 GeV. Under the current LHC c…
It is well-known that leptogenesis in low energy scale is difficult in the conventional Type-I seesaw mechanism with hierarchical right-handed neutrino masses. We show that in a class of two Higgs doublet model, where one Higgs doublet generates masses of quarks and charged leptons whereas the other Higgs doublet with a tiny vacuum expectation value generates neutrino Dirac masses, large Yukawa couplings lead to a large enough CP asymmetry of the right-handed neutrino decay. Thermal leptogenesis suitably works at low energy scale as keeping no enhancement of lepton number violating wash out ef…
In multi-Higgs-doublet models, the alignment in flavour space of all Yukawa matrices coupling to a given right-handed fermion guarantees the absence of tree-level flavour-changing neutral couplings, while introducing new sources of CP violation. With N Higgs doublets (and no right-handed neutrinos) the Yukawa Lagrangian is characterized by the fermion masses, the CKM quark mixing matrix and 3(N-1) complex couplings. Quantum corrections break the alignment, generating a minimal-flavour-violation structure with flavour-blind phases. The aligned multi-Higgs-doublet models lead to a rich and viabl…
A TeV-scale Higgs doublet with a small mixing to the standard model Higgs doublet can have the sizable Yukawa couplings to several right-handed neutrinos and the standard model lepton doublets. This provides a testable Dirac neutrino mass generation. We further consider a seesaw mechanism involving a $U(1)_{B-L}^{}$ gauge symmetry, which predicts the existence of two right-handed neutrinos and a stable Dirac fermionic dark matter, to simultaneously explain the small mixing between the two Higgs doublets and the generation of the cosmic baryon asymmetry.
In light of the recent 750 GeV diphoton anomaly observed at the LHC, we study the possibility of accommodating the deviation from the standard model prediction based on the recently proposed Gauged Two Higgs Doublet Model. The model embeds two Higgs doublets into a doublet of a non-abelian gauge group $SU(2)_H$, while the standard model $SU(2)_L$ right-handed fermion singlets are paired up with new heavy fermions to form $SU(2)_H$ doublets, and $SU(2)_L$ left-handed fermion doublets are singlets under $SU(2)_H$. An $SU(2)_H$ scalar doublet, which provides masses to the new heavy fermions as we…
We make a complete one loop calculation of the $tbW$ couplings in the Two Higgs Doublet Model. We evaluate both the anomalous couplings $g_L$ and $g_R$ as well as left handed and right handed component of $tbW$. The computation is done in the Feynman gauge using the on-shell scheme renormalization for the Standard Model wave functions and parameters. We first show that the relative corrections to these anomalous couplings are rather small in most regions of the parameter space. We then analyze the effects of these anomalous couplings on certain observables such as top quark polarization in sin…
We present a supersymmetric model in which the lepton mixing matrix $U$ obeys, at the seesaw scale, the Harrison--Perkins--Scott \textit{Ansatz}--vanishing $U_{e3}$, maximal atmospheric neutrino mixing, and $\sin^2{θ_\odot} = 1/3$ ($θ_\odot$ is the solar mixing angle). The model features a permutation symmetry $S_3$ among the three lepton multiplets of each type--left-handed doublets, right-handed charged leptons, and right-handed neutrinos--and among three Higgs doublets and three zero-hypercharge scalar singlets; a fourth right-handed neutrino, a fourth Higgs doublet, and a fourth scalar sin…
Smallness of neutrino masses can be explained by introducing a tiny vacuum expectation value of an extra-Higgs doublet which couples to right-handed neutrinos ($N_R$). This situation is naturally realized in $ν$-Two Higgs Doublet Model ($ν$THDM), where a TeV-scale seesaw mechanism can work well. We investigate observable phenomenology of $ν$THDM at LHC and ILC experiments. Charged Higgs boson ($H^\pm$) in $ν$THDM is almost originated from the extra-Higgs doublet and its coupling strength to neutrinos are not small. Then this model induces rich phenomenology at the LHC, for example, when $m_{H^…
We analyse two cases of the minimal extension of the Standard Model when one or two right-handed fields are added to the three left-handed fields. A second Higgs doublet (two Higgs doublet model - 2HDM) is included in our model. We calculate one-loop radiative corrections to the mass parameters which produce mass terms for the neutral leptons. In both cases we numerically analyse light neutrino masses as functions of the heavy neutrino masses. Parameters of the model are varied to find light neutrino masses that are compatible with experimental data of solar and atmospheric neutrino mass diffe…
The nonlinear SU(2) electroweak model is used to explain the absence of the right-handed neutrino in weak interactions. Two covariant eigenvalue constraints which affect the transformation lead to two classes of right-handed leptons, and make possible invariant mass terms without the Higgs doublet. A covariant picture of neutrinos with mass is presented. A new invariant form for the boson potentials is described in which the boson mass terms arises via the adjoint field. This model also indicates a different region of matter involving coupled leptons that are "blind" to the massless electromag…
We consider an $SU(3)_c \otimes SU(2)_L \otimes SU(2)_R \otimes U(1)_{B-L}$ left-right symmetric model with three Higgs scalars including an $SU(2)_L$ doublet, an $SU(2)_R$ doublet and an $SU(2)_L \otimes SU(2)_R$ bidoublet. In addition to usual SU(2)-doublet fermions, our model contains SU(2)-triplet fermions with Majorana masses. The neutral components of the left-handed triplets can contribute a canonical seesaw while the neutral components of the right-handed triplets associated with the right-handed neutrinos can contribute a double/inverse-type seesaw. Our model can be embedded into an S…
The LHC observed so far three deviations from the Standard Model (SM) predictions in flavour observables: LHCb reported anomalies in $B\to K^* μ^+μ^-$ and $R(K)=B\to K μ^+μ^-/B\to K e^+e^-$ while CMS found an excess in $h\toμτ$. We show, for the first time, how these deviations from the SM can be explained within a single well-motivated model: a two-Higgs-doublet model with gauged $L_μ-L_τ$ symmetry. We find that, despite the constraints from $τ\toμμμ$ and $B_s$--$\overline{B}_s$ mixing, one can explain $h \toμτ$, $B\to K^* μ^+μ^-$ and $R(K)$ simultaneously, obtaining interesting correlations …
We examine neutrino oscillations in a two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) in which the second doublet couples only to the third generation right-handed up-fermions, i.e., to t_R and to N_3 which is the heaviest right-handed Majorana neutrino. The inherently large tan(beta) of this model can naturally account for the large top mass and, based on a quark-lepton similarity ansatz, when embedded into a seesaw mechanism it can also account for the observed neutrino masses and mixing angles giving a very small θ_{13}: -0.017 < θ_{13} < 0.021 at 99% CL, and a very restrictive prediction for the atmospheri…
We analyse the implications of right-handed neutrinos on the stability of the electroweak vacuum in two-Higgs-doublet models with supersymmetry at high scale. It is assumed that supersymmetry is broken at scale $M_S = 2 \times 10^{16}$ GeV and effective theory below $M_S$ is two-Higgs-doublet model of type II with three generations of singlet neutrinos which induce small masses for the standard model neutrinos through type I seesaw mechanism. We study the high and low scale versions of seesaw mechanism. In both these cases, we show that the presence of right-handed neutrinos significantly impr…
The radiative neutrino mass model can relate neutrino masses and dark matter at a TeV scale. If we apply this model to thermal leptogenesis, we need to consider resonant leptogenesis at that scale. It requires both finely degenerate masses for the right-handed neutrinos and a tiny neutrino Yukawa coupling. We propose an extension of the model with a U(1) gauge symmetry, in which these conditions are shown to be simultaneously realized through a TeV scale symmetry breaking. Moreover, this extension can bring about a small quartic scalar coupling between the Higgs doublet scalar and an inert dou…
Mixing lepton doublets of the Standard Model can lead to lepton flavour asymmetries in the Early Universe. We present a diagrammatic representation of this recently identified source of $CP$ violation and elaborate in detail on the correlations between the lepton flavours at different temperatures. For a model where two sterile right-handed neutrinos generate the light neutrino masses through the see-saw mechanism, the lower bound on reheat temperatures in accordance with the observed baryon asymmetry turns out to be $\gsim 1.2\times 10^9\,{\rm GeV}$. With three right-handed neutrinos, substan…
Matter-Higgs unification in string-inspired supersymmetric Grand Unified Theories predicts the existence of colored states in the Higgs multiplets and calls for two extra generations of Higgs-like fields ('unhiggses'). If these states are present near the TeV scale, gauge-coupling unification points to the existence of two distinct scales, 10^15 GeV where right-handed neutrinos and a Pati-Salam symmetry appear, and 10^18 GeV where complete unification is achieved. Baryon-number conservation, while not guaranteed, can naturally emerge from an underlying flavor symmetry. Collider signatures and …
It has been shown recently that the Higgs doublet may be composite, with the left-handed top-bottom doublet and a new right-handed anti-quark as constituents bound by some four-quark operators with nonperturbative coefficients. I show that these operators are naturally induced if there are extra space dimensions with a compactification scale in the multi-TeV range. The Higgs compositness is due mainly to the Kaluza-Klein modes of the gluons, while flavor symmetry breaking may be provided by various fields propagating in the compact dimensions. I comment briefly on the embedding of this scenari…
We discuss on the search for the right-handed weak interaction effects in the SU(2)$_L \times$SU(2)$_R$ model with lepton doublets $(ν_\ell, \ell^-)_L$ and $(N_\ell, \ell^-)_R$ ($\ell = e, μ, τ)$. We will point out that only the chance of the observation of the right-handed weak interaction effect will be in the rare decay $K^+ \rightarrow π^- μ^+ μ^+$.
We consider an extension of the standard electroweak model with three Higgs doublets and global $B-L$ and $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetries. Two of the scalar doublets are inert due to the $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry. We calculated all the mass spectra in the scalar and lepton sectors and accommodate the leptonic mixing matrix as well. We also include an analysis of the scalar sector, showing that the potential is limited from below, and we obtain the masses of the scalar sector. Furthermore we consider the effects of the model on the anaomalous magnetic dipole of charged leptons and the $μ\to eγ$ decay. …
We consider an Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with some extra Higgs doublets and a global $(B - L)$, where $B$ and $L$ are the usual baryonic and lepton number respectivelly, and ${\cal Z}_{3} \otimes {\cal Z}^{\prime}_{3}$ symmetries of the non-SUSY model presented at [1]..
We discuss a left-right symmetric model with two Higgs bi-doublet and spontaneous P and CP violation. The flavor changing neutral currents is suppressed by assuming approximate global U(1) family symmetry. We calculate the constraints from neural K meson mass difference Δm_K and demonstrate that a right-handed gauge boson W_2 contribution in box-diagrams with mass around 600 GeV is allowed due to a negative interference with a light charged Higgs boson around 150 \sim 300 GeV. The W_2 contribution to ε_K is suppressed from appropriate choice of additional CP phases appearing in the right-hande…
We investigate a simple variant of type-II seesaw, responsible for neutrino mass generation, where the particle spectrum is extended with one singlet right-handed neutrino and an inert Higgs doublet, both odd under an additional $Z_2$ symmetry. While the role of the dark matter is played by the lightest neutral component of the inert Higgs doublet, its interaction with the Standard Model lepton doublets and the right-handed neutrino turns out to be crucial in generating the correct baryon abundance of the Universe through flavored leptogenesis from the decay of the $SU(2)_L$ scalar triplet, in…
The left-right symmetric model with doublet and bi-doublet Higgs scalars can accommodate linear, inverse or double seesaw for generating small neutrino masses in the presence of three singlet fermions. If the singlet fermions have small Majorana masses, they can form three pairs of quasi-degenerate Majorana fermions with three right-handed neutrinos. The decays of the quasi-degenerate Majorana fermions can realize the resonant leptogenesis. Alternatively, the right-handed neutrinos can obtain seesaw suppressed Majorana masses if the singlet fermions are very heavy. In this case leptogenesis, w…
Extended scalar sectors with additional degrees of freedom appear in many scenarios beyond the Standard Model. Heavy scalar resonances that interact with the neutral current could be discovered via broad resonances in the tails of the four-lepton invariant mass spectrum, where the Standard Model background is small and well understood. In this article we consider a recent ATLAS measurement of four-lepton final states, where the data is in excess over the background for invariant masses above 500 GeV. We discuss the possibility that this excess could be interpreted as a "double peak" from the t…
A TeV-scale Higgs doublet can acquire a tiny vacuum expectation value via its small mixing with the standard model Higgs doublet. Ones then can realize a testable Dirac neutrino mass generation through the sizable Yukawa couplings among this new Higgs doublet, several right-handed neutrinos and the standard model lepton doublets. We show the small mixing between the two Higgs doublets can come from certain interactions for generating the cosmic baryon asymmetry.
We investigate what would be the consequences for leptogenesis of the existence of a charged SU(2)_L singlet scalar delta^+. If such a scalar particle exists, it allows the right-handed neutrinos to couple not only to left-handed lepton and Higgs doublets as in ordinary leptogenesis, but also to a right-handed charged lepton and a delta^+. This provides a new source of leptogenesis which can be successful in a non-resonant way at scales as low as TeV. The incorporation of this scenario in left-right symmetric and unified models is discussed.
In this paper, we study the extended Standard Model (SM) with an extra Higgs doublet and right-handed neutrinos. If the symmetry to distinguish the two Higgs doublets is not assigned, flavor changing neutral currents (FCNCs) involving the scalars are predicted even at the tree level. We investigate the constraints on the FCNCs at the one-loop level, and especially study the semileptonic $B$ meson decays, e.g. $B \to D^{(*)} τν$ and $B \to K^{(*)} ll$ processes, where the SM predictions are more than $2 σ$ away from the experimental results. We also consider the flavor-violating couplings invol…
We propose a new type of a three-loop induced neutrino mass model with dark matter candidates which are required for the neutrino mass generation. The smallness of neutrino masses can be naturally explained without introducing super heavy particles, namely, much heavier than a TeV scale and quite small couplings as compared to the gauge couplings. We find that as a bonus, the anomaly of the muon anomalous magnetic moment can simultaneously be explained by loop effects of new particles. In our model, there are doubly charged scalar bosons and leptons from isospin doublet fields which give chara…
We explore the dark matter phenomenology of a weak-scale right-handed neutrino in the context of a Two Higgs Doublet Model. The expected signal at direct detection experiments is different from the usual spin-independent and spin-dependent classification since the scattering with quarks depends on the dark matter spin. The dark matter relic density is set by thermal freeze-out and in the presence of non-standard cosmology, where an Abelian gauge symmetry is key for the dark matter production mechanism. We show that such symmetry allows us to simultaneously address neutrino masses and the flavo…
In this work we will extend the inert-doublet model (IDM) by adding a new $U(1)_{F}$ gauge symmetry to it, under which, a $Z_{2}$ even scalar ($ϕ_{2}$) and $Z_{2}$ odd right handed component of two exotic charged leptons $(F_{eR},\ F_{μR})$, are charged. We also add one $Z_{2}$ even real scalar ($ϕ_{1}$) and one complex scalar ($ϕ$), three neutral Majorana right handed fermions ($N_{1},\ N_{2},\ N_{3}$), two left handed components of the exotic charged leptons $(F_{eL},\ F_{μL})$ as well as $F_τ$ are all odd under the $Z_{2}$, all of which are not charged under the $U(1)_{F}$. With these new p…
We investigate the iso-doublet vector leptoquark $V_2$ as a solution to the $B$ anomalies $R_{K, K^*}$ and $R_{D,D^*}$, as well as explaining the muon and electron anomalous magnetic moments, and the very recent $W$-mass anomaly.
We have witnessed in the past decade the observation of a puzzling cosmic-ray excess at energies larger than $10$ GeV. The AMS-02 data published this year has new ingredients such as the bump around $300$ GeV followed by a drop at $800$ GeV, as well as smaller error bars. Adopting the background used by the AMS-02 collaboration in their analysis, one can conclude that previous explanations to the new AMS-02 such as one component annihilating and decaying dark matter as well as pulsars seem to fail at reproducing the data. Here, we show that in the right-handed neutrino portal might reside the …
We explain the existence of neutrino masses and their flavor structure, dark matter relic abundance and the observed 3.5 keV X-ray line within the framework of a gauged $U(1)_{L_μ - L_τ}$ extension of the "scotogenic" model. In the $U(1)_{L_μ - L_τ}$ symmetric limit, two of the the RH neutrinos are degenerate in mass, while the third is heavier. The $U(1)_{L_μ - L_τ}$ symmetry is broken spontaneously. Firstly, this breaks the $μ-τ$ symmetry in the light neutrino sector. Secondly, this results in mild splitting of the two degenerate RH neutrinos, with their mass difference given in terms of the…
We propose a model for the quark masses and mixings based on an A_4 family symmetry. Three scalar SU(2) doublets form a triplet of A_4. The three left-handed-quark SU(2) doublets are also united in a triplet of A_4. The right-handed quarks are singlets of A_4. The A_4-symmetric scalar potential leads to a vacuum in which two of the three scalar SU(2) doublets have expectation values with equal moduli. Our model makes an excellent fit of the observed |V_ub/V_cb|. The symmetry CP is respected in the charged gauge interactions of the quarks.
We study the radiative lepton flavor violating l_1->l_2γdecays in the two Higgs doublet model with localized new Higgs doublet in the Randall Sundrum background. We estimate the contributions of the KK modes of new Higgs bosons and left (right) handed charged lepton doublets (singlets) on the branching ratios of the decays considered. We observe that there is an enhancement in the branching ratios with the addition of new Higgs boson and lepton KK modes.
In a bid to simultaneous explanation of dark matter (DM) and tiny but non-zero masses of left-handed neutrinos, we propose a minimal extension of the Standard Model (SM) by a vector-like fermion doublet and three right handed (RH) singlet neutrinos. The DM arises as a mixture of the neutral component of the fermion doublet and one of the RH neutrinos, both assumed to be odd under an additional $\mathcal{Z}_2$ symmetry. As a result, the DM emerges to be a dominantly Majorana particle and escapes from $Z$-mediated direct search constraints to mark a significant difference from singlet-doublet Di…
We present a framework to generate the quark mass hierarchies and mixing angles by extending the Standard Model with one extra Higgs doublet. The charm and strange quark masses are generated by small quantum effects, thus explaining the hierarchy between the second and third generation quark masses. All the mixing angles are also generated by small quantum effects: the Cabibbo angle is generated at zero-th order in perturbation theory, while the remaining off-diagonal entries of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix are generated at first order, hence explaining the observed hierarchy $|V_{ub}|…
We show that a high-scale leptogenesis can be consistent with a low-scale one-loop neutrino mass generation. Our models are based on the SU(3)_c\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y\times U(1)_{B-L} gauge groups. Except a complex singlet scalar for the U(1)_{B-L} symmetry breaking, the other new scalars and fermions (one scalar doublet, two or more real scalar singlets/triplets and three right-handed neutrinos) are odd under an unbroken Z_2 discrete symmetry. The real scalar decays can produce an asymmetry stored in the new scalar doublet which subsequently decays into the standard model lepton doublets…
