Measurement of fluctuations in diffuse HI 21 cm background radiation from the post-reionization epoch (z < 6) is a promising avenue to probe the large-scale structure of the Universe and understand the evolution of galaxies. We observe the European Large-Area ISO Survey-North 1 (ELAIS-N1) field at 300-500 MHz using the upgraded Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (uGMRT) and employ the 'foreground avoidance' technique to estimate the HI 21 cm power spectrum in the redshift range z = 1.96-3.58. Given the possible systematics that may remain in the data, we find the most stringent upper limits on the spherically averaged 21 cm power spectra at k~1.0 Mpc$^{-1}$ are (58.87 mK)$^2$, (61.49 mK)$^2$, (60.89 mK)$^2$, (105.85 mK)$^2$ at z = 1.96,2.19,2.62 and 3.58, respectively. We use this to constrain the product of neutral HI mass density (Omega_HI) and HI bias (b_HI) to the underlying dark matter density field, [Omega_HI*b_HI], as 0.09,0.11,0.12,0.24 at z=1.96,2.19,2.62,3.58, respectively. To the best of our knowledge these are the first limits on the HI 21 cm power spectra at the redshift range z = 1.96 - 3.58 and would play a significant role to constrain the models of galaxy formation and evolution.
We introduce COMAP-EoR, the next generation of the Carbon Monoxide Mapping Array Project aimed at extending CO intensity mapping to the Epoch of Reionization. COMAP-EoR supplements the existing 30 GHz COMAP Pathfinder with two additional 30 GHz instruments and a new 16 GHz receiver. This combination of frequencies will be able to simultaneously map CO(1--0) and CO(2--1) at reionization redshifts ($z\sim5-8$) in addition to providing a significant boost to the $z\sim3$ sensitivity of the Pathfinder. We examine a set of existing models of the EoR CO signal, and find power spectra spanning severa…
The Epoch of Reionization (EoR) represents a milestone in the evolution of our Universe. Star-forming galaxies that existed during the EoR likely emitted a significant fraction (~5-40%) of their bolometric luminosity as Lyman Alpha (Lya) line emission. However, neutral intergalactic gas that existed during the EoR was opaque to Lya emission that escaped from galaxies during this epoch, which makes it difficult to observe. The neutral intergalactic medium (IGM) may thus reveal itself by suppressing the Lya flux from background galaxies. Interestingly, a `sudden' reduction in the observed Lya fl…
The Epoch of Reionization (EoR) depends on the complex astrophysics governing the birth and evolution of the first galaxies and structures in the intergalactic medium. EoR models rely on cosmic microwave background (CMB) observations, and in particular the large-scale E-mode polarization power spectra (EE PS), to help constrain their highly uncertain parameters. However, rather than directly forward-modelling the EE PS, most EoR models are constrained using a summary statistic -- the Thompson scattering optical depth, $τ_e$. Compressing CMB observations to $τ_e$ requires adopting a basis set f…
The period in which hydrogen in the intergalactic medium (IGM) is ionized, known as the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) is still poorly understood. The timing and duration of the EoR is expected to be governed by the underlying astrophysics. Furthermore, most models of reionization predict a correlation between the density and ionization field. Here we consider using the mean dispersion measure (DM) of high redshift Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) as a probe of the underlying astrophysics and morphology of the EoR. To do this, we forecast observational scenarios by building mock data sets of non-repeatin…
With the first phase of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA1) entering into its final pre-construction phase, we investigate how best to maximise its scientific return. Specifically, we focus on the statistical measurement of the 21 cm power spectrum (PS) from the epoch of reionization (EoR) using the low frequency array, SKA1-low. To facilitate this investigation we use the recently developed MCMC based EoR analysis tool 21CMMC (Greig & Mesinger). In light of the recent 50 per cent cost reduction, we consider several different SKA core baseline designs, changing: (i) the number of antenna station…

Due to the large cross section of Ly$α$ photons with hydrogen, Lyman Alpha Emitters (LAEs) are sensitive to the presence of neutral hydrogen in the intergalactic medium (IGM) during the Epoch of Reionization (EoR): the period in the Universe's history where neutral hydrogen in the IGM is ionized. The correlation of the ionized regions in the IGM with respect to the underlying intrinsic LAEs has a pronounced effect on the number of observed LAEs and their apparent clustering. As a result, observations of LAEs during the EoR can be used as a probe of the EoR morphology. Here we build on previous…
We review the observable consequences of the epoch of reionization (EoR) on the cosmic microwave background (CMB), and the resulting constraints on the EoR. We discuss how Thomson scattering with the free electrons produced during EoR equates to an optical depth for CMB photons. The optical depth measurements from the WMAP and Planck satellites, using large-scale CMB polarization power spectra, is one of the few current constraints on the timing of cosmic reionization. We also present forecasts for the precision with which the optical depth will be measured by future satellite missions. Second…
The measured properties of the epoch of reionization (EoR) show that reionization probably began around z ~ 12-15 and ended by z=6. In addition, a careful analysis of the fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background indicate a scattering optical depth tau ~ 0.066+/-0.012 through the EoR. In the context of LCDM, galaxies at intermediate redshifts and dwarf galaxies at higher redshifts now appear to be the principal sources of UV ionizing radiation, but only for an inferred (ionizing) escape fraction f_ion ~ 0.2, which is in tension with other observations that suggest a value as small as ~ 0…
The Epoch of Reionization (EoR) 21-cm signal is expected to become increasingly non-Gaussian as reionization proceeds. We have used semi-numerical simulations to study how this affects the error predictions for the EoR 21-cm power spectrum. We expect $SNR=\sqrt{N_k}$ for a Gaussian random field where $N_k$ is the number of Fourier modes in each $k$ bin. We find that non-Gaussianity is important at high $SNR$ where it imposes an upper limit $[SNR]_l$. For a fixed volume $V$, it is not possible to achieve $SNR > [SNR]_l$ even if $N_k$ is increased. The value of $[SNR]_l$ falls as reionization pr…
We introduce the Evolution of 21-cm Structure (EOS) project: providing periodic, public releases of the latest cosmological 21-cm simulations. 21-cm interferometry is set to revolutionize studies of the Cosmic Dawn (CD) and epoch of reionization (EoR), eventually resulting in 3D maps of the first billion years of our Universe. Progress will depend on sophisticated data analysis pipelines, which are in turn tested on large-scale mock observations. Here we present the 2016 EOS data release, consisting of the largest (1.6 Gpc on side with a 1024^3 grid), public 21-cm simulations of the CD and EoR…
Compared with the cold dark matter (CDM) model, in the warm dark matter (WDM) model formation of small scale structure is suppressed. It is often thought that this would delay the reionization of the intergalactic medium (IGM), as the star formation rate during the epoch of reionization (EOR) would be lowered. However, during the later stage of the EOR, a large portion of the ionizing photons are consumed by recombination inside the minihalos, where the gas has higher density and recombination rates than the gas in the IGM. The suppression of small scale structure would therefore reduce the re…
The EoR 21-cm signal is expected to become highly non-Gaussian as reionization progresses. This severely affects the error-covariance of the EoR 21-cm power spectrum which is important for predicting the prospects of a detection with ongoing and future experiments. Most earlier works have assumed that the EoR 21-cm signal is a Gaussian random field where (1) the error variance depends only on the power spectrum and the number of Fourier modes in the particular $k$ bin, and (2) the errors in the different $k$ bins are uncorrelated. Here we use an ensemble of simulated 21-cm maps to analyze the …
Unaccounted for systematics from foregrounds and instruments can severely limit the sensitivity of current experiments from detecting redshifted 21~cm signals from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR). Upcoming experiments are faced with a challenge to deliver more collecting area per antenna element without degrading the data with systematics. This paper and its companions show that dishes are viable for achieving this balance using the Hydrogen Epoch of Reionization Array (HERA) as an example. Here, we specifically identify spectral systematics associated with the antenna power pattern as a signi…
Numerous studies have established the theoretical potential of the 21cm bispectrum to boost our understanding of the Epoch of Reionization (EoR), and therefore early generation of stars and galaxies. In this paper we look at the impact of foregrounds and instrumental effects on the 21cm bispectrum and our ability to measure it. Unlike the power spectrum for which (in the absence of instrumental effects) there is a window clear of smooth-spectrum foregrounds in which the 21cm power spectrum may be detectable, there is no such "EoR window" for the bispectrum. Instead, on smaller scales EoR struc…
Redshifted 21 cm signal from neutral hydrogen is one of the most competitive probes of the epoch of reionization (EoR). Unpolarized 21 cm radiation acquires a certain level of linear polarization during the EoR due to Thompson scattering. This linear polarization, if measured, could probe important information about the EoR. We study the effect of Galactic Faraday rotation (FR) in the detection of polarization of 21 cm radiation. Since the effect of FR is strong due to the large wavelength nature of redshifted 21 cm signal, the initial E-mode signal carried by 21 cm photons is modified in its …
During the EoR, the first stars and galaxies appear while creating ionized bubbles that will eventually percolate near z=6. These ionized bubbles and percolation process are nowadays under a lot of scrutiny since observations of the HI gas will be carried on in the next decade with e.g. the SKA radiotelescope. Studies of the EoR are performed on semi-analytical and fully numerical cosmological simulations to investigate e.g. the topology of the process. We analyse the topology of EoR models through regions that are under the radiative influence of ionization sources. They are associated with p…
Experiments designed to measure the redshifted 21~cm line from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) are challenged by strong astrophysical foreground contamination, ionospheric distortions, complex instrumental response and other different types of noise (e.g. radio frequency interference). The astrophysical foregrounds are dominated by diffuse synchrotron emission from our Galaxy. Here we present a simulation of the Galactic emission used as a foreground module for the LOFAR- EoR key science project end-to-end simulations. The simulation produces total and polarized intensity over $10^\circ \times…
We construct foreground simulations comprising spatially correlated extragalactic and diffuse Galactic emission components and calculate the `intrinsic' (instrument-free) two-dimensional spatial power spectrum and the cylindrically and spherically averaged three-dimensional k-space power spectra of the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) and our foreground simulations using a Bayesian power spectral estimation framework. This leads us to identify a model dependent region of optimal signal estimation for our foreground and EoR models, within which the spatial power in the EoR signal relative to foregro…
We quantify the effect of radio frequency interference (RFI) on measurements of the 21-cm power spectrum during the Epoch of Reionization (EoR). Specifically, we investigate how the frequency structure of RFI source emission generates contamination in higher-order wave modes that is much more problematic than smooth-spectrum foreground sources. Using a relatively optimistic EoR model, we find that even a single relatively dim RFI source can overwhelm the EoR power spectrum signal of $\sim10\text{ mK}^2$ for modes $0.1 \text{ }h\text{ Mpc}^{-1} < k < 2 \text{ }h\text{ Mpc}^{-1}$. If total appar…
It is seen that foregrounds of 21cm Epoch of Reionization experiments, which are expected to have smooth spectral dependence, are dominant in a wedge shaped region of the Fourier space called as Foreground Wedge. A possible way forward to isolate the 21cm Epoch of Reionization (EoR) signal from the much larger foreground component is to focus on the remaining portion of the Fourier space called as the EoR window. There are in-fact three distinct regions in the Fourier space, (i) the Foreground wedge portion, (ii) the EoR window region which lies beyond Horizon wedge and (iii) the region in bet…
Neutral diffuse intergalactic gas that existed during the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) suppresses Lyman Alpha (Lya) flux emitted by background galaxies. In this chapter I summarise the increasing observational support for the claim that Lya photons emitted by galaxies at z>6 are suppressed by intervening HI gas. I describe key physical processes that affect Lya transfer during the EoR. I argue that in spite of the uncertainties associated with this complex multiscale problem, the data on Lya emitting galaxies at z=0-6 strongly suggests that the observed reduction in Lya flux from galaxies at z>…
Several experiments are underway to detect the cosmic redshifted 21-cm signal from neutral hydrogen from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR). Due to their very low signal-to-noise ratio, these observations aim for a statistical detection of the signal by measuring its power spectrum. We investigate the extraction of the variance of the signal as a first step towards detecting and constraining the global history of the EoR. Signal variance is the integral of the signal's power spectrum, and it is expected to be measured with a high significance. We demonstrate this through results from a simulation…
CII line intensity mapping (LIM) is a potential technique to probe the early galaxies from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR). Several experiments e.g. CONCERTO, TIME, CCAT-p are underway to map the CII LIM signal fluctuations from the EoR, enabling us to estimate the CII power-spectrum and CII$\times$21-cm cross-power spectrum. Observed LIM signal will have its time evolution embedded in it along the Line of Sight (LoS) due to the finite travel time of the signal from its origin to the observer. We have investigated this so-called light-cone effect on the observed statistics of our semi-numerica…
Current attempts to measure the 21cm Power Spectrum of neutral hydrogen during the Epoch of Reionization are limited by systematics which produce measured upper limits above both the thermal noise and the expected cosmological signal. These systematics arise from a combination of observational, instrumental, and analysis effects. In order to further understand and mitigate these effects, it is instructive to explore different aspects of existing datasets. One such aspect is the choice of observing field. To date, MWA EoR observations have largely focused on the EoR0 field. In this work, we pre…
Cosmic reionization is known to be a major phase transition of the gas in the Universe. Since astronomical objects formed in the early Universe, such as the first stars, galaxies and black holes, are expected to have caused cosmic reionization, the formation history and properties of such objects are closely related to the reionization process. In spite of the importance of exploring reionization, our understandings regarding reionization is not sufficient yet. Square Kilometre Array (SKA) is a next-generation large telescope that will be operated in the next decade. Although several programs …
We have used semi-numerical simulations of reionization to study the behaviour of the power spectrum of the EoR 21-cm signal in redshift space. We have considered two models of reionization, one which has homogeneous recombination (HR) and the other incorporating inhomogeneous recombination (IR). We have estimated the observable quantities --- quadrupole and monopole moments of HI power spectrum at redshift space from our simulated data. We find that the magnitude and nature of the ratio between the quadrupole and monopole moments of the power spectrum ($P^s_2 /P^s_0$) can be a possible probe …
Redshifted 21cm-line signal from neutral hydrogens in the intergalactic medium (IGM) gives a direct probe of the epoch of reionization (EoR). In this paper, we investigate the potential of the variance and skewness of the probability distribution function of the 21cm brightness temperature for constraining EoR models. These statistical quantities are simple, easy to calculate from the observed visibility and thus suitable for the early exploration of the EoR with ongoing telescopes such as the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) and LOw Frequency ARray (LOFAR). We show, by performing Fisher analys…
Cosmic baryon evolution during the Cosmic Dawn and Reionization results in redshifted 21-cm spectral distortions in the cosmic microwave background (CMB). These encode information about the nature and timing of first sources over redshifts 30-6 and appear at meter wavelengths as a tiny CMB distortion along with the Galactic and extragalactic radio sky, which is orders of magnitude brighter. Therefore, detection requires precise methods to model foregrounds. We present a method of foreground fitting using maximally smooth (MS) functions. We demonstrate the usefulness of MS functions over tradit…
The Epoch of Reionization (EoR) is the epoch in which hydrogen in the Universe reionize after the "Dark Ages". This is the second of two major phase transitions that hydrogen in the Universe underwent, the first phase being the recombination era in which hydrogen became neutral at redshift about 1100. The EoR, occurs around z of 10 and is probably caused by the first radiation emitting astrophysical sources, hence it is crucial to our understanding of when and how the Universe "decided" to start forming astrophysical objects and how that influenced subsequent structure formation in the Univers…
Radio interferometric experiments aim to constrain the reionization model parameters by measuring the 21-cm signal statistics, primarily the power spectrum. However the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) 21-cm signal is highly non-Gaussian, and this non-Gaussianity encodes important information about this era. The bispectrum is the lowest order statistic able to capture this inherent non-Gaussianity. Here we are the first to demonstrate that bispectra for large and intermediate length scales and for all unique $k$-triangle shapes provide tighter constraints on the EoR parameters compared to the power…
The Ly$α$ line of high-redshift galaxies has emerged as a powerful probe of both early galaxy evolution and the epoch of reionization (EoR). Motivated by the upcoming wide-field survey with the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC), we study the angular correlation function (ACF) of narrow-band selected, $z\approx7$ Ly$α$ emitting galaxies (LAEs). The clustering of LAEs is determined by both: (i) their typical host halo masses, $\bar{M}_{\rm h}$; and (ii) the absorption due to a patchy EoR, characterized by an average neutral fraction of the intergalactic medium, $\bar{x}_{\rm HI}$. We bracket the al…
21 cm Epoch of Reionization observations promise to transform our understanding of galaxy formation, but these observations are impossible without unprecedented levels of instrument calibration. We present end-to-end simulations of a full EoR power spectrum analysis including all of the major components of a real data processing pipeline: models of astrophysical foregrounds and EoR signal, frequency-dependent instrument effects, sky-based antenna calibration, and the full PS analysis. This study reveals that traditional sky-based per-frequency antenna calibration can only be implemented in EoR…

A number of experiments are set to measure the 21-cm signal of neutral hydrogen from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR). The common denominator of these experiments are the large data sets produced, contaminated by various instrumental effects, ionospheric distortions, RFI and strong Galactic and extragalactic foregrounds. In this paper, the first in a series, we present the Data Model that will be the basis of the signal analysis for the LOFAR (Low Frequency Array) EoR Key Science Project (LOFAR EoR KSP). Using this data model we simulate realistic visibility data sets over a wide frequency band…
The distribution of ionised hydrogen during the epoch of reionization (EoR) has a complex morphology. We propose to measure the three-dimensional topology of ionised regions using the Betti numbers. These quantify the topology using the number of components, tunnels and cavities in any given field. Based on the results for a set of reionization simulations we find that the Betti numbers of the ionisation field show a characteristic evolution during reionization, with peaks in the different Betti numbers characterising different stages of the process. The shapes of their evolutionary curves can…
Measurement of the spatial distribution of neutral hydrogen via the redshifted 21 cm line promises to revolutionize our knowledge of the epoch of reionization and the first galaxies, and may provide a powerful new tool for observational cosmology from redshifts 1<z<4 . In this review we discuss recent advances in our theoretical understanding of the epoch of reionization (EoR), the application of 21 cm tomography to cosmology and measurements of the dark energy equation of state after reionization, and the instrumentation and observational techniques shared by 21 cm EoR and post reionization c…
The power spectrum of redshifted 21 cm emission brightness temperature fluctuations is a powerful probe of the Epoch of Reionization (EoR). However, bright foreground emission presents a significant impediment to its unbiased recovery from interferometric data. We build on the Bayesian power spectral estimation methodology introduced in Sims et al. 2016 and demonstrate that incorporating a priori knowledge of the spectral structure of foregrounds in the large spectral scale component of the data model enables significantly improved modelling of the foregrounds without increasing the model comp…
The bispectrum can quantify the non-Gussianity present in the redshifted 21-cm signal produced by the neutral hydrogen (HI) during the epoch of reionization (EoR). Motivated by this, we perform a comprehensive study of the EoR 21-cm bispectrum using simulated signals. Given a model of reionization, we demonstrate the behaviour of the bispectrum for all unique triangles in $k$ space. For ease of identification of the unique triangles, we parametrize the $k$-triangle space with two parameters, namely the ratio of the two arms of the triangle ($n=k_2/k_1$) and the cosine of the angle between them…
Experiments aimed at detecting highly-redshifted 21 centimeter emission from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) are plagued by the contamination of foreground emission. A potentially important source of contaminating foregrounds may be Faraday-rotated, polarized emission, which leaks into the estimate of the intrinsically unpolarized EoR signal. While these foregrounds' intrinsic polarization may not be problematic, the spectral structure introduced by the Faraday rotation could be. To better understand and characterize these effects, we present a simulation of the polarized sky between 120 and 1…
We calculate the angular power spectrum of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature fluctuations induced by the kinetic Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (kSZ) effect from the epoch of reionization (EOR). We use detailed N-body+radiative transfer simulations to follow inhomogeneous reionization of the intergalactic medium (IGM). For the first time we take into account the "self-regulation" of reionization: star formation in low-mass dwarf galaxies (10^8 M_\sun \lesssim M \lesssim 10^9 M_\sun) or minihalos (10^5 M_\sun \lesssim M \lesssim 10^8 M_\sun) is suppressed if these halos form in the regions …
We introduce a new method for performing robust Bayesian estimation of the three-dimensional spatial power spectrum at the Epoch of Reionization (EoR), from interferometric observations. The versatility of this technique allows us to present two approaches. First, when the observations span only a small number of independent spatial frequencies ($k$-modes) we sample directly from the spherical power spectrum coefficients that describe the EoR signal realisation. Second, when the number of $k$-modes to be included in the model becomes large, we sample from the joint probability density of the s…
We provide an overview of 21cm tomography of the Cosmic Dawn and Epoch of Reionization as possible with SKA-Low. We show why tomography is essential for studying CD/EoR and present the scales which can be imaged at different frequencies for the different phases of SKA- Low. Next we discuss the different ways in which tomographic data can be analyzed. We end with an overview of science questions which can only be answered by tomography, ranging from the characterization of individual objects to understanding the global processes shaping the Universe during the CD/EoR
We present a new upper limit to the 21cm power spectrum during the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) which constrains reionization models with an unheated IGM. The GMRT-EoR experiment is an ongoing effort to make a statistical detection of the power spectrum of 21cm neutral hydrogen emission at redshift z~9. Data from this redshift constrain models of the EoR, the end of the Dark Ages arising from the formation of the first bright UV sources, probably stars or mini-quasars. We present results from approximately 50 hours of observations at the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope in India from December 20…
The transmission of Lyman-α (Lyα) in the spectra of distant quasars depends on the density, temperature, and ionization state of the intergalactic medium (IGM). Therefore, high-redshift (z > 5) Lyα forests could be invaluable in studying the late stages of the epoch of reionization (EoR), as well as properties of the sources that drive it. Indeed, high-quality quasar spectra have now firmly established the existence of large-scale opacity fluctuations at z > 5, whose physical origins are still debated. Here we introduce a Bayesian framework capable of constraining the EoR and galaxy properties…
The nature of dark matter sets the timeline for the formation of first collapsed halos and thus affects the sources of reionization. Here, we consider two different models of dark matter: cold dark matter (CDM) and thermal warm dark matter (WDM), and study how they impact the epoch of reionization (EoR) and its 21-cm observables. Using a suite of simulations, we find that in the WDM scenarios, the structure formation on small scales gets suppressed resulting in a smaller number of low mass dark matter halos compared to the CDM scenario. Assuming that the efficiency of sources in producing ioni…
For there to be a successful measurement of the 21 cm Epoch of Reionization (EoR) power spectrum, it is crucial that strong foreground contaminants be robustly suppressed. These foregrounds come from a variety of sources (such as Galactic synchrotron emission and extragalactic point sources), but almost all share the property of being spectrally smooth, and when viewed through the chromatic response of an interferometer, occupy a signature "wedge" region in cylindrical $k_\perp k_\parallel$ Fourier space. The complement of the foreground wedge is termed the "EoR window", and is expected to be …
We present a theoretical study of intergalactic metal absorption lines imprinted in the spectra of distant quasars during and after the Epoch of Reionization (EoR). We use high resolution hydrodynamical simulations at high redshift ($4 <z<8$), assuming a uniform UV background Haardt--Madau 12, post-processing with CLOUDY photoionization models and Voigt profile fitting to accurately calculate column densities of the ions CII, CIV, SiII, SiIV and OI in the intergalactic medium (IGM). In addition, we generate mock observations of neutral Hydrogen (HI) at $z<6$. Our simulations successfully repro…
The detection of the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) in the redshifted 21-cm line is a challenging task. Here we formulate the detection of the EoR signal using the drift scan strategy. This method potentially has better instrumental stability as compared to the case where a single patch of sky is tracked. We demonstrate that the correlation time between measured visibilities could extend up to 1-2 hr for an interferometer array such as the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA), which has a wide primary beam. We estimate the EoR power based on cross-correlation of visibilities across time and show that …
We explore the possibility of constraining model parameters of the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) from 21cm brightness temperature maps, using a combination of morphological descriptors constructed from the eigenvalues of the Contour Minkowski Tensor (CMT), Betti numbers (count of connected regions $n_{con}$ and holes $n_{hole}$) and the area of structures in the excursion set of the field. We use a three parameter model of EoR simulated using 21\textrm{cmFAST}, namely the ionizing efficiency of sources $ζ$, the minimum virial temperature $T_{vir}$ required for collapse into a halo and the maximu…
